spk_0 Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us.
spk_0 Oh, so you know I'm mad.
spk_0 You know I'm mad that we didn't get to discuss Kendrick Lamar's new album,
spk_0 GNX, because we just finished recording and then he drops the album.
spk_0 With no tweet, no Instagram, no promotion, no nothing, just drops it.
spk_0 And although I love the album and I am so excited that we get to experience this all together,
spk_0 I'm so upset that we won't be able to be talking about it during this episode.
spk_0 But it's too late for us to change our picks, but not too late for you, okay?
spk_0 Because they'll be a pick in for you because we look out for you, the audience, all right?
spk_0 So tune in to this episode and enjoy.
spk_0 We're back, y'all. That's right.
spk_0 It's your boy, D's is nice.

spk_0 for a shot to win big.
spk_0 But you won't be the only one making the picks, okay?
spk_0 By me and D's has our own way just going on.
spk_0 In our first episode about Real Housewives, D's said the first big fight wouldn't happen
spk_0 until after episode six.
spk_0 That's what you said.
spk_0 There's no video proof of that.
spk_0 There's going to be the first big fight what happened after episode six.
spk_0 After episode six.
spk_0 After episode six.
spk_0 And now you've got to pray the price.
spk_0 Hey, you know what it is.
spk_0 You win some, you lose some.
spk_0 But today is a new day at anyone's game.
spk_0 And we're talking about some of the hottest hits on the chart and we have the most impact
spk_0 on Rolling Stones End of the Year album list.
spk_0 And later we'll be joined by a special guest, Bob Dad 4000, to dive deeper into everything
spk_0 on and off the charts.
spk_0 Listen, it's been a crazy year for music with notable first in many genres.
spk_0 Okay, you got Shabuzie, historic number one as a country artist.
spk_0 Then you got Tyler Criator with four back to back number one albums.
spk_0 Okay, showing out.
spk_0 You got Ariana reunited with Brandy and Monica.
spk_0 That happened this year.
spk_0 That happened this year, which sounds crazy.
spk_0 So listen, this list is as historic as it is controversial.
spk_0 It's a combination of chart data, cultural impact, and ultimately the opinions of the Rolling
spk_0 Stones staff.
spk_0 Finger out the top picks will take some real skills, but sure, team D's is passing the back
spk_0 as always.
spk_0 Whatever.
spk_0 Team Scotty is all the way.
spk_0 Okay, we know everything about music.
spk_0 But before we even get there, let's discuss some of the things that have happened to music
spk_0 this year.
spk_0 All right, bet.
spk_0 Let's get into it.
spk_0 Let's go.
spk_0 Let's go.
spk_0 Hip-hop has had some huge moments this year.
spk_0 What does some highlights be?
spk_0 Oh, a lot.
spk_0 Young Doug beating his case, coming home.
spk_0 Absolutely.
spk_0 Drake being absolutely eviscerated by Kendrick Lamar.
spk_0 I loved it.
spk_0 So, you know, it's been good for everybody.
spk_0 I mean, I agree.
spk_0 What's been some say now, moment for you?
spk_0 I would say, don't you get in some Grammys nominations.
spk_0 That was really big.
spk_0 Beyonce coming out with a country album was a huge thing for so many reasons.
spk_0 And what else?
spk_0 Drake.
spk_0 Drake and Kendrick.
spk_0 It really was it for me.
spk_0 That changed everything.
spk_0 Yeah, it did.
spk_0 You being a club now, Drake songs don't hit the save.
spk_0 You lying.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 It's a lawsuit.
spk_0 I was like, it's her aunt, so I stopped it.
spk_0 So yeah, Beyonce came out with Cowboy Carter, which is like a country album from the Queen
spk_0 of R&B and hip hop and every other genre she ever wanted to touch.
spk_0 How do you feel about that album?
spk_0 I think Cowboy Carter was important for so many reasons.
spk_0 One, Beyonce being able to say country music could kiss my ass, especially traditional country
spk_0 music and what they think country should sound like.
spk_0 And as far as like genre bending, which I'm a big fan of, the fact that she got to do
spk_0 that in her album and was like, this is what I want to do.
spk_0 You know, it was, it was really revolutionary to me.
spk_0 I thought that that was incredible.
spk_0 Yeah, and then given Linda Martell a Grammy nomination, you know, she deserves it.
spk_0 How come she did you get it?
spk_0 Did you get some Cowboy boots?
spk_0 No.
spk_0 No, no, no, I didn't get that far.
spk_0 You didn't get that far?
spk_0 What if she, well, I'm saying that she does allow concerts.
spk_0 You got to, you're definitely getting that.
spk_0 But, you know, I want Beyonce to take her time because, please, like the money that I'm
spk_0 spending on Beyonce.
spk_0 She's just dropping stuff left and right.
spk_0 You understand?
spk_0 You know, university stuff.
spk_0 Yeah, yeah.
spk_0 Everything.
spk_0 See you.
spk_0 Come on, relax.
spk_0 So I need her to chill.
spk_0 Maybe in 2026, we can get back to the Cowboy Carter.
spk_0 But yes, that's one of those.
spk_0 But also, I feel like everybody, that's a big hip-hop moment for me.
spk_0 I think everybody did really well with putting out good albums.
spk_0 Dolcey, great album.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 No worries.
spk_0 Great album.
spk_0 Why, Lord?
spk_0 I'm Lod.
spk_0 But like, I can't say Lod, right?
spk_0 Lod.
spk_0 I can't say it right.
spk_0 Say it right.
spk_0 Lod.
spk_0 Say why, Lod?
spk_0 Why, Lod?
spk_0 Who sounds better?
spk_0 Me and him.
spk_0 I mean, they're only going to take your side.
spk_0 Why, Lod?
spk_0 You see the favoritism in this thing.
spk_0 Also, they ask me.
spk_0 No, I'm asking y'all.
spk_0 They ask me that's misogyny.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 You can't deny the popularity of international acts, though.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 But how do you think these artists and other genres will compare to the rap acts in popularity?
spk_0 Like, Tyler...
spk_0 Tyler is pop.
spk_0 You know, I understand that she's other things, but she's pop.
spk_0 So, yeah, I mean, it's going to look how it looked in 2012.
spk_0 Yeah, like, rap is 50 years old.
spk_0 Hip-hop is 50 years old.
spk_0 I was not going to look the same.
spk_0 It's not as niche as it used to be.
spk_0 It's spread out as global.
spk_0 Everyone has their own takes on it there.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Hip-hop in Japan.
spk_0 You have hip-hop in Iceland.
spk_0 It's not going to sound like hip-hop in the 80s and busts.
spk_0 Absolutely.
spk_0 So, you know, it's like water.
spk_0 It's always going to transform to other things.
spk_0 Other things.
spk_0 And, hopefully, like, we get to a point where genres are just not boxes anymore.
spk_0 We can literally blur the lines and do all the things that we want to do, no matter the genre.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 And the Drake beef, that was wild.
spk_0 You can still remember where you were at when not like us dropped.
spk_0 Do you remember I was in a restaurant?
spk_0 I had just come out the bathroom and I was like, well, this is going to be something.
spk_0 Did not expect it to be like the biggest song in the world.
spk_0 You see people with weddings in India doing it.
spk_0 Everyone singing it.
spk_0 I knew it.
spk_0 They're singing that at presidential campaigns.
spk_0 I knew it.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I absolutely knew it.
spk_0 I was working out.
spk_0 I was on a stairmaster.
spk_0 And I checked my phone and, of course, somebody said it to me immediately.
spk_0 And I almost fell on the stairmaster.
spk_0 I actually, Kendrick has tried to kill me twice.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 When Euphoria came out, I was crossing the street.
spk_0 And I thought the tweet was fake.
spk_0 And so, when I pressed it and I heard the beginning of the song, I was in the middle of the street and it worked.
spk_0 I'd stopped walking.
spk_0 And then I had to continue to walk.
spk_0 But I almost fell twice.
spk_0 I almost got killed twice.
spk_0 One because I didn't expect Kendrick to respond.
spk_0 I don't think.
spk_0 I, when this whole thing went on and we were waiting for Kendrick to say something, I was like, oh, Kendrick's not going to say nothing.
spk_0 We're going to move on.
spk_0 But, and then I'd be in one of the biggest hip-hop moments of hip-hop period.
spk_0 So, if you're top five, just song.
spk_0 No, I mean, it was like lyrics.
spk_0 It shows, even if you weren't a Kendrick fan, you became a Kendrick fan for his little little cool tenacity.
spk_0 And just the way he played it, just great drop the song.
spk_0 And then Kendrick dropped his song like an hour later, or probably less than that.
spk_0 And just even just, he dropped so many different songs.
spk_0 He four years different than not like us, with different than Meet the Grams.
spk_0 Also, Drake baited him.
spk_0 Drake was like, would you go drop when you're going to drop?
spk_0 So, he kind of put this on himself.
spk_0 So, you know, like he got his come-up ends.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And also, you know, tired of the, like Kendrick said, we like when Drake sings.
spk_0 We don't like the tough shit.
spk_0 So, you know, we did back with the sandals on the beach, crooning, you know, all that stuff.
spk_0 We don't need him talking about guns and Scarborough, right?
spk_0 Talking about crotty and man's down.
spk_0 No, stop it.
spk_0 You're not even from there, stop.
spk_0 Exactly.
spk_0 And yeah, I just, I think that Drake lost touch with a lot of things.
spk_0 So, I hope that he takes a break and he decides to be like, you know, he's not doing that.
spk_0 I want this band so desperately to take a break.
spk_0 He's just dropping wish.com music now.
spk_0 He's just doing anything at the wall.
spk_0 If it sticks, it sticks.
spk_0 He's doing stuff with bagpipes.
spk_0 Like, at this point, just relax, bro.
spk_0 I know, just take some time off.
spk_0 You deserve it.
spk_0 You've been, you really have had a hold on the music industry for so long.
spk_0 You could take a break.
spk_0 Go back to the Dr. Miami, get the maps retuned, bro.
spk_0 You think they're out, you already?
spk_0 You think his ass is gonna be retuned?
spk_0 Yeah, I'm the girl from the beginning.
spk_0 Look terrible.
spk_0 It looks terrible.
spk_0 Yeah, okay.
spk_0 I think Kendrick talked about that too.
spk_0 I mean, Kendrick talked about everything.
spk_0 It's all about everything.
spk_0 It's all about everything.
spk_0 So, my favorite albums of the year have got to be first things first.
spk_0 SchoolboyQ, Blue Lips.
spk_0 Played it.
spk_0 Do you like it?
spk_0 It's cool.
spk_0 Tyler created it.
spk_0 I'm excited about anything.
spk_0 Anything?
spk_0 No albums?
spk_0 My favorite album of this year didn't even come out this year.
spk_0 What are you saying?
spk_0 My favorite album of this year has been the same album of the year for last five years.
spk_0 It's almost dry, but push it to you.
spk_0 Why would I listen to anything else?
spk_0 Like, let's be for real.
spk_0 Like, that is one of the best albums ever in the history of hip-hop.
spk_0 Nothing may recently even come close to that.
spk_0 It has everything you want.
spk_0 Massage-need, drug-running,
spk_0 like little dishes at other subpar rappers.
spk_0 Like, come on.
spk_0 Man, he's talking about having a paint and sip.
spk_0 A paint and sip.
spk_0 That's what we're talking about with our gangsters right here.
spk_0 He's talking about.
spk_0 So, you start listening to the new albums.
spk_0 Nah, like, sometimes you never got to a point in your life where you just listen to one album over and over.
spk_0 Absolutely.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Renaissance.
spk_0 You have to be in the right mood for new albums.
spk_0 Like, sometimes like a new album used to.
spk_0 Like, this is cool, but it's saying what I'm trying to hear right now.
spk_0 And you go back to old albums.
spk_0 Like, when you watch the office over and over and over and over a show like that.
spk_0 Yeah, it's wonderful.
spk_0 You know, like, all right.
spk_0 It's like comfort food.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 I know I watch the office over and over again.
spk_0 We all love it, do we?
spk_0 We all love it, do we?
spk_0 What's your favorite episode?
spk_0 Um, the Snow Fight, the Snowball Fight.
spk_0 I like the Fire Drill.
spk_0 Fire Drills is a good time.
spk_0 It's too chaotic though.
spk_0 I'll be like, what the hell is going on?
spk_0 But what would you say is your favorite out of all the albums that dropped this year?
spk_0 Like, number one.
spk_0 It's to the stupidest.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Blue Lives is my favorite, yes.
spk_0 And what about it?
spk_0 It's really tied between Blue Lives and Y-Loyd.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And I think it's really tied.
spk_0 And Don't Cheat.
spk_0 Everybody really came out this year and worked really hard.
spk_0 I like that schoolboy cue took the time, five years to release an album.
spk_0 And it shows the growth is loud.
spk_0 Like, I absolutely love everything about that album.
spk_0 I like when rappers come of age.
spk_0 I love when rappers show that they are getting older and they are growing.
spk_0 And they do it in a way where they are showing other people.
spk_0 Yeah, this is me growing up.
spk_0 You know what I'm saying?
spk_0 Look at the growth.
spk_0 Drake, I love when men grow up and rap.
spk_0 Now listen, more genres of black music are getting recognition worldwide.
spk_0 But people feel like hip hop has become less unique, less regional.
spk_0 I agree.
spk_0 Like for example, listen to Yeats Record Breathe.
spk_0 So if you remember, there was a very popular movie with Wesley Snipes for Blade.
spk_0 And this is here.
spk_0 He's gone into the Vampire Club to kill the vampires and clearly this white guy is performing.
spk_0 So that's what this music video is.
spk_0 Yo, you got that.
spk_0 Yo, you all got no yeat in that sarato.
spk_0 You're all gonna get that sarato?
spk_0 Yo, yeat be split in, son, and then there's Travis Scott's Echoes.
spk_0 I know you're a big fan of that.
spk_0 Oh, you're a genius.
spk_0 You're a genius.
spk_0 These are stuff.
spk_0 He's like when you took a class trip to the planetarium, and you sit in there like class Earth.
spk_0 I liked it.
spk_0 I'm sorry.
spk_0 Here's the thing.
spk_0 Here's what I don't want people to bunching up yeat, which is probably a child of Travis Scott.
spk_0 Travis Scott has always created like this.
spk_0 He is a child of Jesus.
spk_0 You know what I'm saying?
spk_0 Like he gets a lot of his influences from everything Kanye, everything Kid Cuddy, everything in that realm.
spk_0 That's him.
spk_0 I mean, but that's Travis.
spk_0 I don't know him for me.
spk_0 That's Travis Scott's that Mike Dean.
spk_0 Yeah, but I don't know him for being a...
spk_0 I mean, like, no, let's be honest, that's Mike Dean.
spk_0 Like what is Travis Brieks' that song?
spk_0 That song didn't get hot to Beyonce, it's Sample Kamehman.
spk_0 But I still think also it's House.
spk_0 Like it's Jomer bending.
spk_0 Like it's okay.
spk_0 I really do like it.
spk_0 Is that the house?
spk_0 There's several different types of house.
spk_0 Okay, I'm just saying.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 I like it.
spk_0 It's alright.
spk_0 And Travis has been doing this.
spk_0 So don't act like Travis has been a regional rapper.
spk_0 Don't do that.
spk_0 I mean, his new stuff isn't as good as his old stuff, but sure.
spk_0 The quality of the music's gone down, especially after Astro Road.
spk_0 But you know what?
spk_0 We're just having fun.
spk_0 Astro Road was a big album, no.
spk_0 And of course we got Little Oozzy Verds Breakout Single, Just One Rock.
spk_0 Project F.A.C.
spk_0 That you can't.
spk_0 And this ain't what you want.
spk_0 Sixth Evening Block.
spk_0 I just want to rock.
spk_0 I love this because every time you hear it, it's like a sports event.
spk_0 You see like little white kids doing a dance.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 It's just hilarious.
spk_0 Like is this song?
spk_0 This is like the new, this belongs on the new Jock Jams.
spk_0 Is it saying even like a hip hop song?
spk_0 You will just see a kid who should not know hip hop.
spk_0 You know all the words to this, they're dancing.
spk_0 Their parents are looking troubled.
spk_0 Like, yo, who are you hanging out with?
spk_0 We got a lemon who's coming to the house.
spk_0 Of course it's a banger.
spk_0 I rock with you.
spk_0 I love it.
spk_0 Also it is original.
spk_0 He's from Philly.
spk_0 For people who don't know, club music is a big thing and Philly and New Jersey.
spk_0 So it is a big, big song, of course, but also you have to remind ourselves, this is like
spk_0 club music, Jersey club music, everybody around in that area.
spk_0 We love that music.
spk_0 I love club music.
spk_0 Nobody will ever get me to talk that about club music.
spk_0 That's right.
spk_0 You want to turn up at Hobo?
spk_0 It's my thing is like, where do you want?
spk_0 Hey, let's go to Camden Girl.
spk_0 Now based on a sound, you wouldn't even be able to tell that these artists from Cali, Houston,
spk_0 or Philly, or could you?
spk_0 How you feel about that statement?
spk_0 I think based on maybe the sound, maybe, I mean, based on like how they rap, I'm assuming
spk_0 that people would feel like, because a little, these are not rapping like, beanie seagull.
spk_0 So I'm assuming that's why it's not sounding regional, but it is regional.
spk_0 That's wrong.
spk_0 You know, and so I agree, but I'm on both ends.
spk_0 I'm all for artistic integrity.
spk_0 Gotcha.
spk_0 So if you are an artist and you're just trying to, you're trying to genre bend and you're
spk_0 trying to blur the lines of what it is, that your region is doing and trying to incorporate
spk_0 other versions or genres or just different type of sounds, I love it.
spk_0 If you like it, I love it.
spk_0 But if you are only trying to follow a formula and you're trying to get a song that charts just
spk_0 because.
spk_0 Because that's what you think people want to hear.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 That is like to meet corny.
spk_0 Like if you're chasing, but it's not authentic.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 It's not authentic.
spk_0 You're just trying to chase the formula to get a tick toxong.
spk_0 Gotcha.
spk_0 And so if that's the case, then yeah, I think it is corny that you are abandoning your regional
spk_0 sound or whatever it is, whatever sound you have.
spk_0 My whole thing is like, I grew up, I could tell the difference between a bronze rapper or
spk_0 a Brooklyn rapper, Jersey rapper, Philly rappers or stuff like that.
spk_0 And you get to a point where it's just like, you don't want to be the old head.
spk_0 Like I don't want to be like people who listen and I want to come through like, hey young
spk_0 buck, let's play some rock him.
spk_0 You know, like there comes a place, you have four back and be like, listen, hip hop is evolving.
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 It's changing.
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 Let the kids do what they do and like people like me.
spk_0
spk_0 Everybody wants to sound like Jerood the Damager.
spk_0 So you know me, I do what older heads do and you start moving backwards through hip hop.
spk_0 Whereas people enjoy the newer artists, I'm going back.
spk_0 And I'm listening like the kind of hip hop you hear from an older black man like on a box
spk_0 Chevy kind of motorcycle driver through Harlem like, haha, want for the butter to floor the
spk_0 room.
spk_0 Like that kind of stuff.
spk_0 I might start wearing a tracksuit, maybe with a lower cap.
spk_0 Take it back so you know like, Mama said knock you out, L.O.
spk_0 Cool, Jay, just keep you washed, you know.
spk_0 So female rappers however have been dominating hip hop right now.
spk_0 Have you been into some of the female hip hop?
spk_0 I have.
spk_0 I'm not a hater.
spk_0 I don't allow the genders stop me from getting my lyrics.
spk_0 I don't use antiquated term femcies.
spk_0 Right now I really like Glorilla.
spk_0 You love Glorilla because I like how people were trying to count her out at the beginning of the
spk_0 year.
spk_0 That's really that she pushed up was like you're going to be back on you.
spk_0 There's such a different variation of female rappers that there's a little something for everybody.
spk_0 You got like Megan is doing this and she's working on like Japanese artists and has anime
spk_0 references.
spk_0 But who you listen to?
spk_0 I love all the girls.
spk_0 Like all the girls put out Megan and came out with act 2, loved it.
spk_0 Glorious was fire, alligator bites don't heal, amazing.
spk_0 Who else came out?
spk_0 Lotto.
spk_0 Lotto's been doing it hard.
spk_0 I see was really good.
spk_0 Like all the girls showed out to me.
spk_0 They said oh and then there's a ice spice, why 2k?
spk_0 No I'm very supportive but I'm very happy that the girls are knee deep into music and hip hop.
spk_0 It's really a good one.
spk_0 And it's also it's not one of those things where it's just like an asterisk.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 It's like they're running the charts right now.
spk_0 They are people out there.
spk_0 It's like you can't it's not like yo here's for dudes and a chick.
spk_0 It's like no there's five girls running the game right now.
spk_0 Even if you compare what they're putting out compared to what guys are putting out right now.
spk_0 It's like they are more creative.
spk_0 The stars are catchier and like you want to hear them.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 One of our FTP questions is which rap girl will rank the highest?
spk_0 Okay and who are we picking from right now?
spk_0 We got Glorilla, Glorious.
spk_0 Got you Megan and Stowian, Megan.
spk_0 Ice spice, why 2k?
spk_0 Lotto Sugar Honey, I see.
spk_0 If you push Sugar Honey, I see you take the first letter from each of those words and put it out there.
spk_0 It's a word I'm not trying to say because you're trying to be professional here on draft kings.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Yeah sexy red and sexy V trust.
spk_0 Okay and don't forget Don't you I don't get a bite never heal as a hip hop person.
spk_0 You can't listen to that in the anger because you give it a little bit of everything.
spk_0 It makes me the proudest hip hop fan ever to listen to the album.
spk_0 I'm very proud of her.
spk_0 What do you want to say?
spk_0 No you say it.
spk_0 I probably want to say sexy red.
spk_0 You think so?
spk_0 What are you going to say?
spk_0 Megan.
spk_0 Even though Megan's album wasn't there has one song in there that started 2024 off right.
spk_0 And I'll stand on the sexy red.
spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 You believe what you just said.
spk_0 I do.
spk_0 It didn't even sound shaky though.
spk_0 I feel totally over the course of these episodes.
spk_0 I know about everything.
spk_0 You haven't talked about a album yet.
spk_0 I just know about different types of music.
spk_0 You just be like, oh, I only know five albums.
spk_0 You know, no, no, I know all albums.
spk_0 Pop in your bag.
spk_0 Pop in my bag.
spk_0
spk_0 I know everything.
spk_0 I know about classical music.
spk_0 You do not know.
spk_0 I know German, Winchon music.
spk_0 Don't play with me girl.
spk_0 But listen, we're going to test your knowledge on the holy girl of music trivia.
spk_0 Current pop princesses.
spk_0 He is a pop princess when it comes to this.
spk_0 He gets this done.
spk_0 That's right.
spk_0 I'm a pop princess.
spk_0 I'm going to challenge my real housewife over here.
spk_0 What is it?
spk_0 We're going to go and we're going to talk about all the little pop princesses that came out this year.
spk_0 Are you ready?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And I want you to say the name.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 No, no, no, no.
spk_0 I want you to say the end of fan base.
spk_0 I can name the person.
spk_0 I don't know the actual songs and stuff like that.
spk_0 I bet you I can name more of these than you could.
spk_0 Alright, who's this?
spk_0 That's that chapel.
spk_0 Chapel.
spk_0 Chapel wrong.
spk_0 There you go.
spk_0 Chapel wrong.
spk_0 I got that.
spk_0 Yeah, just say it.
spk_0 Say it like you mean it though.
spk_0 Chapel.
spk_0 There you go.
spk_0 That's my girl, Billy Eilish, join me and play with me.
spk_0 I am an eyelash.
spk_0 Do something else.
spk_0 Correct on that.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Who else we got?
spk_0 She's like an Adam's family girl.
spk_0 You know that song?
spk_0
spk_0 Nope.
spk_0 This is it.
spk_0 Gash's Night Out 2008.
spk_0 Sabrina.
spk_0 So.
spk_0 Brat Summer.
spk_0 Oh, Charlie's XX.
spk_0 Sure.
spk_0 Close enough.
spk_0 This is Charlie XX.
spk_0 XXX.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Oh, that's JoJo.
spk_0 Right?
spk_0 Yeah, she's saying I'm going to be sure I'm playing with it.
spk_0 Yeah, I know who that is.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Play with somebody else.
spk_0 Alright.
spk_0 That's it.
spk_0 You did very good.
spk_0 I thank you.
spk_0 I did good.
spk_0 You did very good.
spk_0 Now, if this was what it took to become a citizen, you would be American now.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 So shout out to you.
spk_0 I feel like, yeah, I get into a few of you.
spk_0 You are a naturalized pop citizen now.
spk_0 All right.
spk_0 I mean, I know all the white queens of pop.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 But what I do know is that they all can be number one.
spk_0 That's fair.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 I have a bet, of course.
spk_0 Let's go.
spk_0 Let's hear it.
spk_0 I'm saying Billy Eilish will be higher than all the other girls on the Rolling Stone list.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 I know you don't know pop like that.
spk_0 You have like a little, you have like the bets right there.
spk_0 You have a couple of good games.
spk_0 But I know pop.
spk_0 I feel like Sabrina Carpenter.
spk_0 That's me as wrestle.
spk_0 And that's espresso girl.
spk_0
spk_0 She going to call it out the gate hot.
spk_0 She got outranked Billy.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And I'm going to make this more interesting.
spk_0 Whoever loses this bet has to dress in all of their merchandise.
spk_0 Like all of this stuff by all this whack.
spk_0 And then make an IG video explaining why Rolling Stone got it wrong.
spk_0 I can do that.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 All right, bet.
spk_0 So get your coin out.
spk_0 Can't wait to see you dress like Big Pun.
spk_0 It's going to be looking good.
spk_0 All right.
spk_0 Now listen to me as Scotty.
spk_0 We know everything about music.
spk_0 Kind of sort of if we don't, we be lying.
spk_0 But we are from the actual artist.
spk_0 We rock with here.
spk_0 We thank you for being in the building.
spk_0 It's the homie.
spk_0 Grop dad 4,000.
spk_0 I'm a big fan.
spk_0 So I'm happy to have you on the show.
spk_0 It's so good.
spk_0 Have a much you love me.
spk_0 I love you back.
spk_0 Thank you.
spk_0 You go.
spk_0 So earlier we talked about hip hop losing its own regional sound.
spk_0 Some people feel like a music that comes out now.
spk_0 You can't really tell where artists are from.
spk_0 While other people feel like you can still tell from just hearing like the bass line or hearing the lyrics.
spk_0 How do you feel about that as an artist?
spk_0 Because you're very regional.
spk_0 And is that something you specifically try to do or is that something that naturally comes out in your music?
spk_0 I think it only comes out because of my subject matter and how I talk.
spk_0 It's very West Coast compared to other people in hip hop.
spk_0 So I land there.
spk_0 But even like beat wise, I don't often go with pure West Coast music like that.
spk_0 I always related to just how I sounded.
spk_0 You can't really avoid that.
spk_0 I think when it comes to looking at hip hop as a whole, the blending of genres scales with age.
spk_0 The older you get, the more purish you become.
spk_0 Because depending on your career, you probably have more success as you niche down.
spk_0 That's typically how I go.
spk_0 It's the youth that blends genres.
spk_0 I think that people in my class of music making, like you can still classify it.
spk_0 But it gets murky.
spk_0 And then under us, they just like got you.
spk_0 So what do you think of blending genres?
spk_0 What's like an example you think of?
spk_0 You're like, yo, that's a crazy blend of a genre.
spk_0 Tis out touchdown.
spk_0 Tis out touchdown.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Everything that he do is like singer, songwriter, punk, prince, dance, rock, rap, R&B.
spk_0 There's a mix of everything.
spk_0 Yeah, like he blended, but he presented like that.
spk_0 He got the image together.
spk_0 I think that's a good example of somebody who do that right now.
spk_0 Talking about musicality real quick.
spk_0 I know how important it is, but now these lists are coming out.
spk_0 It's the end of the year.
spk_0 And you know, these Rolling Stones that come out and all these different lists are less important to you as far as you being on these lists.
spk_0 If I get on them, then it's important.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 But if I'm not on them, I never feel away.
spk_0 You don't take it personally.
spk_0 I think in my first hype year, when I first came out, I really wanted to be like a freshman.
spk_0 On the WXL?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And then the more as like I grew into like being independent, everybody used to think I was signed around that time because I know so many people, I ended up becoming my own label services.
spk_0 And then I was learning like what they would do and how to get set up and like the whole behind the scenes.
spk_0 And then I was like, oh, most of this is fake.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I still do appreciate lists because it just depends on where they come from now.
spk_0 I think that for hip hop, specifically lists are pretty relevant.
spk_0 Right. Does it matter who makes the list?
spk_0 Like do you say a list from WXL with more credit than something from like Rolling Stones or like from Rap Daily?
spk_0 Probably none of those.
spk_0 I would take a random list from a tweet that just got 65k likes or something like what people say to taste is the list that I care about.
spk_0 So the Grammys announced their nomination and Rolling Stones said that making the style gets hissed, not being nominated as one of the biggest snubs of the year.
spk_0 What do you think would be some of the biggest snubs if their albums didn't make it into the Rolling Stones list this year?
spk_0 Don't you for sure.
spk_0 That's been like the number one glowrilla.
spk_0 Glorious.
spk_0 My little brother's really like glowrilla.
spk_0 She really got, she didn't want to do those over.
spk_0 So what are your predictions for what's going to be popping in music in 2025?
spk_0 Like what are you looking forward to or are there any trends that you're hearing that you think will be bigger?
spk_0 This is going to be a mix of the things that we was talking about.
spk_0 People blending genres.
spk_0 A lot of music based on live instrumentation.
spk_0 A lot of callback especially because like the just sampling old hits got so watered down.
spk_0 That's why somebody like Doach is working because she gets to present records in the female dominated market.
spk_0 And it's so musical, so rap-y.
spk_0 It's almost purest and sometimes it's even making fun of that.
spk_0 It's like very bad.
spk_0 You are very known for starting shit on Twitter.
spk_0 I call it Twitter and they ain't nobody going to do nothing about it.
spk_0 You had said that pop is nothing but watered down hip-hop with pop chords.
spk_0 You got a lot of pushback for that.
spk_0 You still stand on it.
spk_0 Okay, so tell me your thoughts behind this tweet.
spk_0 If rap is the biggest genre in the world, that's pop music already.
spk_0 So it was kind of a plan worse for that.
spk_0 The main example that they brought up was Sabrina.
spk_0 Sabrina Carpenter?
spk_0 First song I heard from her, she was rapping on it.
spk_0 That's all I needed to know.
spk_0 If pop songs is rapping, that's watered down rap.
spk_0 She ain't got songs where he'd be singing like a rapper.
spk_0 He got that flow.
spk_0 That's rap.
spk_0 That's rap.
spk_0 You got to ask, what do you do with your do-rag train that you watch to the Grammys?
spk_0 You still got it in the closet somewhere?
spk_0 Yeah, I was going to frame it.
spk_0 The goal was to frame it like a 12, 13 foot frame and just have it across the wall.
spk_0 You know like a giant version of the Michael Jordan, you know what I'm saying?
spk_0 But just with a do-rag.
spk_0 With a do-rag, but I ended up getting dirty and having to wash it after it.
spk_0 Because one that a part of it was dragging on that carpet from the Grammys.
spk_0 And then, you know, it was Grammy night.
spk_0 I was celebrating that ended up becoming rope.
spk_0 And I used that as a tie.
spk_0 You have any plans that ever like donated to like a hip-hop museum or something?
spk_0 I think that I would be down to do that.
spk_0 I would be absolutely if a hip-hop museum wants to put that in there.
spk_0 What should be looking forward to from you?
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 The album tracks or what do you got coming up in 2025?
spk_0 2025, going to be a good year for me.
spk_0 I just started back streaming right now so I'm building out the community on Twitch until I drop this album.
spk_0 Yeah, I want to drop a lot though so I'm going to be dropping projects next year.
spk_0 I'm in a movie called Him.
spk_0 It's a Jordan Pill Produce.
spk_0 Yeah, that Star Marlin Wains.
spk_0 And I'm all throughout that thing too.
spk_0 It's working.
spk_0 I can't wait for people to see that.
spk_0 You definitely deserve all that you're getting and more to come.
spk_0 And keep grinding and definitely coming visit us again when you drop some new music.
spk_0 Yeah, come on.
spk_0 Give it up for our guide to drop dad for thousands of ideas.
spk_0 Stop following that.
spk_0 Earlier in the show, we told you how you could win.

spk_0 And make sure you follow along to see how you stack up.
spk_0 Let's dive into the first question of the day. Are you ready?
spk_0 Ready. Let's go.
spk_0 So it's the end of the year music list.
spk_0 Now what genre will have more placements in the top 10?
spk_0 It's definitely going to be pop.
spk_0 Pop? You know what? If you pick your pop on Pick Rock.
spk_0 Rock?
spk_0 Sure, what now?
spk_0 I'm gonna say there's some rock up in here.
spk_0 Oh, alternative.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 But what is alternative right now?
spk_0 Yes, sisters.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Because you're like raging us the machine or it could be like, sister.
spk_0 A lot of stuff is alternative now.
spk_0 How many hip-hop projects will be included overall?
spk_0 Okay, it ain't gonna be 16 or more.
spk_0 That's calm down.
spk_0 I'm gonna go with one to three.
spk_0 I'm gonna say five to seven.
spk_0 Okay. Okay.
spk_0 That's crazy. One to three is crazy.
spk_0 Isn't?
spk_0 I'll say two boy, cute blue lips.
spk_0 Okay. Don't she?
spk_0 Don't she alligator, bicep wool.
spk_0 Does not heal.
spk_0 And then a lot of will be on there.
spk_0 Glorilla might be on there.
spk_0 Glorious might be on there.
spk_0 So you already hit over three.
spk_0 I mean, that's what we want to say.
spk_0 I don't know if they're going to say it.
spk_0 Freddie Gibbs might be on there.
spk_0 Freddie Gibbs might be on there.
spk_0 Freddie Gibbs might be on there.
spk_0 Which is definitely gonna be on there.
spk_0 Listen, listen.
spk_0 Can we stop?
spk_0 So I'm already there, guys.
spk_0 I'm telling you, I'm trying to get you that money, that money on.
spk_0 Which debut will not be included?
spk_0 Rachel Chinnery, with a devastating turn of events.
spk_0 How many times have you heard that, Ellen?
spk_0 Not even.
spk_0 Have you ever heard of her before this moment?
spk_0 Absolutely not.
spk_0 But I heard she's black, so I'm gonna support it.
spk_0 Which one will not be included?
spk_0 Well, I mean, me and the homie on the block
spk_0 were listening to the white lands of the day.
spk_0 But I'm gonna go with the last dinner party.
spk_0 I'm gonna do night-bound eyes.
spk_0 I'm blind to the day.
spk_0 Good choice.
spk_0 Good choice.
spk_0 Thank you.
spk_0 Who's album will rank highest?
spk_0 I think we are gonna go with Ariana Grande.
spk_0 Ariana Grande is a cult classic.
spk_0 I would want it to be Billie Eilish, but I'm gonna say
spk_0 Sabrina Carpenter, short and sweet.
spk_0 How many albums from artists who debuted before 2000
spk_0 will make it into the top 10?
spk_0 I'm gonna say three.
spk_0 Three, yeah.
spk_0 I'm gonna say three.
spk_0 Yeah, I feel like the safe number.
spk_0 You know what I'm saying?
spk_0 It's like when you're doing a multiple choice test.
spk_0 And you go to many A's.
spk_0 And you go to see up in there.
spk_0 Go to see in there.
spk_0 Which middle rap album will rank highest?
spk_0 Let me tell you something.
spk_0 I didn't even know Eminem released.
spk_0 Oh, he released.
spk_0 So you know what?
spk_0 We're gonna say Eminem because when Eminem drops people,
spk_0 even if you don't listen to hip-hop, you buy it.
spk_0 You got people who are like, hey, listen to hip-hop.
spk_0 When I was 14, let me buy this.
spk_0 And Chichu Millenials about real hip-hop.
spk_0 So you know, shout out to all those people.
spk_0 They bought Eminem and he's definitely going to do numbers
spk_0 more than everyone else.
spk_0 Well, y'all, that's it for today.
