spk_0 The things that I was making were replacements to the products that I had been using for my whole life.
spk_0 And so that is kind of what has guided a lot of our product evolution, is just,
spk_0 what do I want a natural version of that I can't find?
spk_0 You're listening to Be Well by Kelly LeVec.
spk_0 Bethany McDaniel is the founder of Primally Pure, a natural skincare company rooted in simplicity, purity, and the wisdom of nature.
spk_0 She lives in Southern California with her husband and three children.
spk_0 After years of struggling with acne and relying on harsh creams and prescriptions, Bethany was left with raw, irritated skin, and few lasting results.
spk_0 Everything changed when she turned to simple natural ingredients.
spk_0 The transformation sparked a passion, with just $250 in supplies she launched Primally Pure to help others experience the healing power of clean skincare.
spk_0 Bethany McDaniel
spk_0 This has been a long time coming for me and immediately before the show started, we're like right into a deep meaningful conversation about like motherhood, entrepreneurial life.
spk_0 The trials record 15 minutes ago.
spk_0 The trials and tribulations of like just being an adult, buying a home, renovating a home, like providing a safe space for your family.
spk_0 It can all just be like a lot in super overwhelming.
spk_0 Thank you for immediately just being open and raw and honest with me.
spk_0 Thank you for being on the show because I think you're someone I look up to as a mom and an entrepreneur.
spk_0 What I was not surprised by, but a little bit surprised is just how real you are.
spk_0 Thank you for being here and sharing your heart and your story.
spk_0 I'm excited for everyone to get to know you.
spk_0 Thank you so much for having me. I feel the exact same way about you.
spk_0 I don't know if it's because we have like a mutual friend, but I just feel this like connection with you.
spk_0 I've also been following along with you for a long time, so it's really cool to be here.
spk_0 Thank you.
spk_0 Yeah, no, I'm excited.
spk_0 So for those people who don't know you, can you tell me a little bit about your entrepreneurial journey to building Primally Pure?
spk_0 Yeah, so I kind of, I like to say I started Primally Pure almost by accident.
spk_0 I never intended for it to turn into what it is today.
spk_0 I started it really as a hobby.
spk_0 I was working at the Special Olympics after my husband and I got married.
spk_0 He was a high school teacher and basketball coach.
spk_0 And in the meantime, him and his dad and brothers had started a regenerative livestock farm called Primal Pastures in Southern California.
spk_0 And so we had actually, after we got married, we moved to Arizona and we had those jobs.
spk_0 And meanwhile, the farm was kind of like picking up momentum.
spk_0 And when the farm started, that's what really clued me in to a whole world of wellness that I never knew about before.
spk_0 I was always interested in health and wellness, but just tried all kinds of random things to,
spk_0 you know, I was always trying like just different ways of eating.
spk_0 And I had like acne for a long time growing up.
spk_0 I always knew there had to be something more to it.
spk_0 But when the conventional route, Salder Metologist took the, you know,
spk_0 the antibiotics and the different pills and ointments that I was prescribed.
spk_0 And I always thought like, okay, there's, there has to be like something I'm missing here with all of this.
spk_0 And when they started the farm, that opened my eyes to like real food.
spk_0 And I changed my diet and experienced how much better I felt and how much better that my skin looked and felt after changing my diet.
spk_0 And so that was a huge eye opener.
spk_0 And then from there, I was like, okay, what else can I be doing differently?
spk_0 Because I've been eating wrong my whole life.
spk_0 Like what else am I missing here?
spk_0 And that's when I started looking at skincare products and personal care products.
spk_0 I realized that the deodorant that I had been using, my whole life was filled with harmful toxins.
spk_0 That was like a big one for me where I was like, whoa, like this is, you know, on shelves at CVS and target.
spk_0 Like, isn't, aren't people checking to make sure this is safe?
spk_0 And I was just really surprised to find out that there's such loose regulations
spk_0 for personal care and skincare products in the US.
spk_0 And it wasn't just deodorant.
spk_0 It was several other things.
spk_0 And so after I learned all of this, I was like throwing away all of my products.
spk_0 And I started making my own replacements.
spk_0 I tried a natural deodorant that I had gotten from the store.
spk_0 And just did not work.
spk_0 So I was like, okay, I have to figure this out.
spk_0 I was doing research on the internet, just figuring out like what ingredients,
spk_0 natural ingredients work to prevent odor.
spk_0 And I just kind of became really obsessed with it.
spk_0 And was making all of these products in my kitchen.
spk_0 Meanwhile, the farm was like growing.
spk_0 And we eventually quit our jobs, moved back to Temecula, where the farm started.
spk_0 In with my in-laws, in with my sister-in-law,
spk_0 her husband, their one-year-old, my other sister-in-law had moved in.
spk_0 Also, everyone was like quitting their jobs for this farm.
spk_0 I was like cooking deodorant in the kitchen while people were trying to cook meals.
spk_0 It was like chaos, but I also look back with such fond memories of that time,
spk_0 because we were just all so passionate about it.
spk_0 I went into it with like no business plan, no investors, nothing like that.
spk_0 It was purely just passion and hard work.
spk_0 That's kind of how it all started.
spk_0 I was really surprised and pleased with how interested people were in my products.
spk_0 Like I said, I didn't intend for it to turn into a business,
spk_0 but I was just so fueled by the excitement from people who I was giving products to,
spk_0 and then eventually selling products to, that just kind of fueled me to take the next step,
spk_0 and the next step, and the next step.
spk_0 Here we are today. I have like 120 some employees.
spk_0 Yeah, it turned into something I could have never imagined.
spk_0 So wild. I think I need to connect the dots for listeners if they don't know what
spk_0 primarily pure is. It's a tallow based skin care lines.
spk_0 And that was another thing.
spk_0 Losing it from the farm.
spk_0 Yes, I was using, I was rendering tallow from the farm, and that was something that,
spk_0 when I learned about tallow, I was like, this is so cool.
spk_0 Like people have been using this ingredient for generations and generations before
spk_0 these like petroleum based moisturizers and chemical based moisturizers became popular.
spk_0 Like this is an ancestral ingredient, ingredient that people have been using since the beginning of time.
spk_0 And it just resonated with me and clicked with me.
spk_0 It's very bio-compatible with the skin's own sebum.
spk_0 Tallow actually means sebum in Latin.
spk_0 I was like, this is so cool, but I don't know if people will get it.
spk_0 Like that was when vegan skin care products were so popular.
spk_0 I mean, they still are a little bit, but
spk_0 It sounded funny to me.
spk_0 You're not going to eat it.
spk_0 That's the problem.
spk_0 I know. And I was like, I don't know if this is going to resonate with people.
spk_0 So I considered not using tallow.
spk_0 And in the end, I was like, no, I believe in this.
spk_0 This is cool.
spk_0 The people who get it will get it.
spk_0 And if people don't, that's okay.
spk_0 And now it's like,
spk_0 how does this come from viral ingredient?
spk_0 Never would have thought that that would happen.
spk_0 Yeah, the fact that I mean, the fact that my mom is like,
spk_0 oh, yeah, I love my tallow skin care.
spk_0 I'm like, that's so hot.
spk_0 That's kind of crazy because we're talking about like, you know,
spk_0 just a so-cal.
spk_0 My mom is like rainbow wearing beach going so-cal, mom.
spk_0 But definitely like drove us through McDonald's for breakfast when we were growing up.
spk_0 And really was like, not made us homemade meals,
spk_0 but wasn't as super excited about like, oh, the ingredients of that.
spk_0 It was like more like, you know, some mac and blue box mac and cheese,
spk_0 some plain chicken breasts, like iceberg salad, you know, kind of like those,
spk_0 I mean, I was an 80s baby and so were my sisters.
spk_0 So it's just kind of like, yeah, that's how I grew up too.
spk_0 Those style meals and driving through fast food and not knowing the consequences
spk_0 are like, you know, not giving us coke, but giving us spray, you know.
spk_0 I feel like their generation had it the worst because like,
spk_0 their parents generation, our grandparents, like they grew up,
spk_0 I think they had more healthy like roots.
spk_0 Yeah. And then with tradition.
spk_0 Yeah, yeah, exactly.
spk_0 And then with our parents, it was like, they were fully brainwashed on everything.
spk_0 And everything that was marketed to them
spk_0 was like chemical based, you know, with food with products, everything.
spk_0 And they didn't have the internet back then.
spk_0 Like we do to kind of seek out like the truth.
spk_0 And so I always think it's so cool when like, parents, I say parents,
spk_0 I mean, parents of like people are age.
spk_0 Our grandparents.
spk_0 When they, yeah, when they like come on board with stuff like that.
spk_0 And I see that with my parents too for a long time.
spk_0 It was me just like spouting off and telling them like,
spk_0 you need to stop eating this and stop using that and stop.
spk_0 And now they're coming to me like with things that they've read.
spk_0 And it's just, it's cool to see that change happen.
spk_0 Yeah, it is really cool because it means they're like a constant student
spk_0 and they're excited to like keep being better.
spk_0 And I think mostly like my parents are on board because
spk_0 maybe they, I don't say they fought me, but they were just like,
spk_0 oh Kelly.
spk_0 Yes, no saying.
spk_0
spk_0 Exactly.
spk_0 When I was younger, like when I was Chris and I were just dating or just first married.
spk_0 But like the minutes of action was born.
spk_0 And I was, you know, we had some food allergies.
spk_0 And we had like a rough start.
spk_0 And and I was just like, we can't, we can't do this.
spk_0 We can't have this fight all the time.
spk_0 Like he can't have this stuff.
spk_0 Like you need, we need better products available.
spk_0 Or like if you want to buy that at Costco, just hide it
spk_0 when we before we come over.
spk_0 Like I really don't want you eating it.
spk_0 But like please, you know, like kind of like.
spk_0 But now it's to the point where my mom will be like,
spk_0 did you see this product?
spk_0 Did you see that thing?
spk_0 And I'm like, oh,
spk_0 it's so happy.
spk_0 It's so vast.
spk_0 Yeah, coming around on their own terms,
spk_0 which is like, you know, knowledge is power.
spk_0 I think people are really.
spk_0 You know, questioning a lot more than they ever did before,
spk_0 especially that generation.
spk_0 Especially in the last few years.
spk_0 Oh, yeah.
spk_0 Watch it.
spk_0 That was like a point.
spk_0 So so when you think about like having this passion
spk_0 and starting this business as an entrepreneur,
spk_0 like you quit your job, you went all in.
spk_0 Like what did those first couple of months and years look like?
spk_0 And how did you grow?
spk_0 Like what challenges did you have?
spk_0 Yeah, it was a lot of working harder, not smarter.
spk_0 Which I know is the opposite of what people say to do.
spk_0 But I think you kind of have to do that in the beginning,
spk_0 especially if you don't come in with business experience
spk_0 and a background in business and investors and money
spk_0 to like delegate jobs to different people.
spk_0 I didn't have any of that.
spk_0 So I had to just like work hard
spk_0 and not really like think, you know, 50 steps ahead.
spk_0 I was thinking like, okay, what what do I have to do today?
spk_0 What I have to do this week?
spk_0 And how am I going to just get it done?
spk_0 And so I was like, it was so bootstrapped, so DIY.
spk_0 I mean, to stuff packages,
spk_0 I was like driving around to coffee shops and hair salons
spk_0 and like picking up old newspapers and magazines
spk_0 and I would take them home.
spk_0 And I had my little Costco paper shredder
spk_0 and I would shred things.
spk_0 And that's like what I stuffed packages with.
spk_0 I was like handwriting addresses on boxes
spk_0 because I didn't know how stamps.com works.
spk_0 And just stuff like that.
spk_0 Like I think the hardest thing was just
spk_0 switching gears between so many different things.
spk_0 At this point, we were after a while,
spk_0 after a year of living at the first farmhouse with everybody,
spk_0 we got, we acquired a second property
spk_0 to use for the farm.
spk_0 And there was like an old 1960s farmhouse
spk_0 that my husband and I moved into
spk_0 that was on that property.
spk_0 And every room of the house was like a different part
spk_0 of my business.
spk_0 So the kitchen, of course,
spk_0 I was like making the products in there.
spk_0 And then we had one spare bedroom
spk_0 that I used to ship packages.
spk_0 I was like hand labeling products in the living room.
spk_0 So primarily, pure was just everywhere.
spk_0 And I was constantly having to switch gears
spk_0 between like customer service and marketing
spk_0 and then actually making the products
spk_0 and being the one to ship them.
spk_0 It was like, I think switching gears
spk_0 was like really tough in the beginning.
spk_0 And then once I started growing a team,
spk_0 that was challenging.
spk_0 People just managing people is challenging,
spk_0 especially if you've never done it before.
spk_0 And like firing someone for the first time,
spk_0 I mean, all of that stuff was just really hard.
spk_0 And that's like what kept me up at night
spk_0 for a long time was just like being,
spk_0 learning how to be an effective good manager.
spk_0 A book that really helps me was good to great.
spk_0 I don't know if you've heard of that one,
spk_0 but like that taught me,
spk_0 I think I was doing a lot of things
spk_0 based on feelings and caring for,
spk_0 not knowing how to balance caring for people,
spk_0 but also doing what was best for the business.
spk_0 And that book taught me that sometimes,
spk_0 sometimes firing someone is the most caring thing
spk_0 that you could do for them
spk_0 because you're not keeping them in a job
spk_0 that they aren't a good fit for
spk_0 and you're not stealing that time away from them.
spk_0 Even though it feels really brutal,
spk_0 it can be more selfish to keep someone in a position
spk_0 that they just aren't a good fit for
spk_0 that they're struggling in and you're struggling with them.
spk_0 So just learning all of those lessons
spk_0 in such a short period of time was tough.
spk_0 My new amino acid supplements come in flavorless
spk_0 and lemon water and they're flying off the shelves
spk_0 and here's why.
spk_0 I have meticulously sourced
spk_0 these vegan fermented essential amino acids from Japan.
spk_0 I am so proud of this being made the B-well way
spk_0 with maximum quality and minimum ingredients.
spk_0 My flavorless is simply those vegan fermented
spk_0 essential amino acids from Japan.
spk_0 Our lemon water contains minimal ingredients
spk_0 of only organic lemon powder,
spk_0 organic citric acid and organic monk fruit.
spk_0 No natural flavors, no artificial flavors,
spk_0 no artificial sweeteners, no emulsifiers, no additives.
spk_0 This is simply that nutrition targeted for your goals.
spk_0 If you want to give my B-well protein
spk_0 or amino acid try or restock it,
spk_0 if you're already loving it,
spk_0 take advantage of my gift for podcast listeners.
spk_0 Code podcast 10 is going to get you $10 off
spk_0 just for being a listener.
spk_0 Write it down and shop with me after you listen.
spk_0 What year did you start in the first farmhouse making product?
spk_0 The first farmhouse, that must have been,
spk_0 so we turned 10 in 2025.
spk_0 So officially started in 2015,
spk_0 but I was making products a little bit before that.
spk_0 So I think the first farmhouse was maybe 2013 or 2014
spk_0 when I was making things and selling them at farm stands
spk_0 and stuff.
spk_0 Farmers of markets and stuff like that.
spk_0 I love that you said that at the beginning,
spk_0 it is about working harder,
spk_0 because I feel like a lot of times people have these grandiose ideas
spk_0 about a business and they want to have a deck
spk_0 and they want investors and they want to put people in rules
spk_0 and there's nothing wrong with that.
spk_0 And then I just raise all this money to loot my own shares
spk_0 and my own business, to loot my ability to stand behind
spk_0 like specific decisions, I think in my position and yours,
spk_0 whether you're putting it on your skin or ingesting it,
spk_0 like being able to have 100% control over the ingredients
spk_0 and going into those products is critically important,
spk_0 but that working hard,
spk_0 like I remember literally on my phone, pregnant with Toshin,
spk_0 like answering Shopify customer service emails,
spk_0 being like, this is where you're tracking number is,
spk_0 this is your shipping, answering DMs about it,
spk_0 like feeling like I was drinking from a fire hose
spk_0 on top of like seeing clients starting the podcast
spk_0 and be like, what did I do?
spk_0 Why did I decide to do this?
spk_0 Like I didn't, and the hiring people,
spk_0 it's like, they don't, people don't talk about it.
spk_0 Like there's so much time and energy that goes into like training
spk_0 and making sure they feel supported
spk_0 and like setting your standard operating procedures,
spk_0 like all of it, like that you, I mean,
spk_0 how did you get through that?
spk_0 And what were your first hires like?
spk_0 What did you, like in thinking of wearing all the hats?
spk_0 Like how did you first start to delegate some of your roles?
spk_0 Yeah, I think it's hard to even feel comfortable
spk_0 delegating things in the beginning too,
spk_0 because the worst.
spk_0 Like I believed the lie for a long time
spk_0 that no one could do X, Y or Z like I could.
spk_0 And it wasn't true, but I was just so nervous
spk_0 to like let go of things,
spk_0 especially making the product.
spk_0 And that's something that most skincare companies,
spk_0 like they outsourced that from the get-go,
spk_0 but founders not making it in their kitchen.
spk_0 Yeah, but I was like, oh my gosh,
spk_0 no one knows these ingredients like I do,
spk_0 no one like, there's just so many little nuances to it
spk_0 that I was so scared to let go of,
spk_0 but that was a very time consuming part of the business.
spk_0 And so I hired someone to help make product,
spk_0 ship products, customer service,
spk_0 those were things that like were kind of the first things
spk_0 that were labeling for sure,
spk_0 because I was, oh my gosh, I was going to FedEx,
spk_0 I would buy like double-sided paper,
spk_0 I would print or not like sticky paper.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And I would print the labels on sheets of paper
spk_0 and then I would like cut them with a paper cutter
spk_0 from Michaels by hand.
spk_0 It was absurd.
spk_0 All day, it was absurd.
spk_0 Like all done symbols.
spk_0 Like I had to do that one time for like a photo shoot,
spk_0 like get stickies and do it in like the jars of my Aminos
spk_0 and my magnesium.
spk_0 And I think I messed it up like three times
spk_0 to have to get that right for products.
spk_0 Getting all the little bubbles out of it.
spk_0
spk_0 No.
spk_0 And that was more like watch charting
spk_0 than like I think breaking bad.
spk_0 I haven't like watched TV and I can't remember how long,
spk_0 but like that was what I would do
spk_0 when I would label products that was like my time
spk_0 to watch TV and I was do,
spk_0 that was like the last thing in the night.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I would do that until like, I don't know,
spk_0 two in the morning some nights just because they're like,
spk_0 we're not enough hours in the day.
spk_0 Wow.
spk_0 Yeah, I forget even what the question was.
spk_0 No, but it was like starting to outsource.
spk_0 So you started to get in support with labels
spk_0 and product making like all those things.
spk_0 And then I think when I finally started to feel more relief
spk_0 was when I brought on a COCEO is how it started.
spk_0 Well, it actually started as more of a consultant.
spk_0 So my husband was kind of helping me with some things,
spk_0 but he was also busy with the farm
spk_0 and then him and my brother in law, Paul,
spk_0 you know, started pasture bird
spk_0 and that was kind of taking off.
spk_0 And so I just needed support with all the things
spk_0 that I hated, which were payroll, like tax stuff,
spk_0 just things that I am not, I knew right away.
spk_0 Like those were not hard for me to hand out.
spk_0 Like I'm terrible with that stuff.
spk_0 Here you go.
spk_0 So bad.
spk_0 So like Jeff was getting too busy
spk_0 and he had has a great friend
spk_0 who had had a lot of business experience.
spk_0 And so we decided to see if he would be interested
spk_0 in coming on and just handle some of the stuff
spk_0 that Jeff had been doing.
spk_0 And also just kind of like help me along.
spk_0 Like I needed a mentor, I needed support.
spk_0 And so he started in that role.
spk_0 And then as the business grew, like,
spk_0 and he got more excited about it,
spk_0 we worked really well together.
spk_0 And so we became co-CEOs.
spk_0 And then I think it was when I got pregnant
spk_0 with our second that I had the conversation with them,
spk_0 like what do you think about taking over as CEO
spk_0 and I would step into more of a founder role?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And that's been amazing.
spk_0 It's been incredible.
spk_0 Because now I get to like work with a lot of people
spk_0 on the team really closely.
spk_0 So I have that like camaraderie,
spk_0 but I'm not like giving them their performance reviews.
spk_0 Which you know, it's just,
spk_0 it takes so much head space
spk_0 when you're also trying to like be creative for the business.
spk_0 And my main things now are our content.
spk_0 So like that includes our podcast, our blog,
spk_0 kind of overseeing some of our social stuff,
spk_0 some of our newsletter stuff,
spk_0 and then also product creation.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And that's where I'm the most comfortable.
spk_0 And now I can like really focus on those things
spk_0 and pour into those things
spk_0 and do less of the things that I'm not like
spk_0 as naturally gifted at.
spk_0 And I think for a while I wanted to like be really good
spk_0 at everything.
spk_0 And I wasn't, you know, I could get by at a lot of it,
spk_0 but it was just,
spk_0 I recognize like how much brain power that was taking.
spk_0 And then eventually as I started having more kids,
spk_0 I'm like, this is taking away from like what I want
spk_0 to be pouring into my children.
spk_0
spk_0 Yeah. So it's been like a process
spk_0 and lots of twists and turns and ups and downs.
spk_0 But I think it's important to like recognize
spk_0 what you're gifted at
spk_0 and to outsource the things that, you know,
spk_0 that other people may do a better job at.
spk_0 Oh, I mean, it's such great advice
spk_0 and it's a hard hurdle.
spk_0 I feel like that first,
spk_0 like when you find that one person
spk_0 that isn't just like a support staff to you,
spk_0 not like, oh, I'm going to answer your customer service emails
spk_0 or I'm going to help you package.
spk_0 But someone who has the vision
spk_0 that you can trust with the growth and the numbers
spk_0 who can take those like big pieces off your plate
spk_0 and say like, I can support you through this.
spk_0 Like your CEO is my sister.
spk_0 Like my youngest sister, Chrissy,
spk_0 was a CPA and then worked at Salesforce and Finance
spk_0 and then was moving her family during COVID
spk_0 from San Francisco to Austin.
spk_0 And I was like, how do you feel about coming on over?
spk_0 You know?
spk_0 And it was the greatest decision ever
spk_0 because I feel like exactly like you said,
spk_0 like I like to be unfortunately.
spk_0 It doesn't really work when you want to be like best friends
spk_0 with everyone that works for you.
spk_0 Totally.
spk_0 And it's those performance reviews.
spk_0 It says like holding people accountable
spk_0 and asking them to like really meet those goals for you
spk_0 because which is so important and so healthy.
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 And she's so good at it.
spk_0 And like runs operations and like make sure
spk_0 the forecasting is right.
spk_0 And she's purchasing product and sending it to Amazon
spk_0 and like purchasing raw materials.
spk_0 And like all of the stuff that is like the nitty gritty,
spk_0 and I love numbers, but the nitty gritty numbers
spk_0 of that kind of stuff she just handles.
spk_0 And we have great team members because of it.
spk_0 And I can have great relationships with them
spk_0 and inspire them and get excited about like,
spk_0 what is the future for our business without having to be like
spk_0 and you're not performing in this.
spk_0
spk_0 Yeah. No, it's really hard.
spk_0
spk_0 I think it's hard for people to receive
spk_0 both of those things from the same person too.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And yeah, I think it's amazing that your sister does that
spk_0 for you.
spk_0 It sounds very similar.
spk_0 I mean, just like you, it's just,
spk_0 I know it doesn't work for some people
spk_0 to hire their friends or their family or whatever,
spk_0 but it's really worked out for me because I think the trust level
spk_0 that I had and I wonder if it's the same for you
spk_0 that like this person has your best interest in mind
spk_0 and is like willing to put in those same founder style work ethics
spk_0 and like hours and just yeah, just like rolling the same direction.
spk_0 100%.
spk_0 I wouldn't hire a friend or family member necessarily
spk_0 for every role like I don't necessarily prioritize that
spk_0 within the business because I've seen it not work out great too.
spk_0 And I think that like the best person for the role
spk_0 should always be the person that gets the role.
spk_0 But in this situation of like that, your go to person,
spk_0 who you need, like you said, to have your back.
spk_0 And like I just, I would have,
spk_0 I would not have had that same level of comfort
spk_0 if it wasn't someone that I didn't like know and trust so well already.
spk_0 Same, same.
spk_0 Well, you said earlier too,
spk_0 you were able to pour into the people that you
spk_0 love the most,
spk_0 which I'm talking about your three little kids.
spk_0 So can we talk about what that like motherhood
spk_0 entrepreneurial juggle and like how you've morphed over time
spk_0 and like what your boundaries have looked like
spk_0 and how you continue to prioritize your kids
spk_0 and your family first and foremost.
spk_0 Yeah, I mean, it's looked different in every season.
spk_0 And one thing I do is just like constantly evaluating
spk_0 like what's working right now,
spk_0 what doesn't feel good right now.
spk_0 And also picking up on my kids and where they're at.
spk_0 Like do are they, am I sensing that they need more of me right now?
spk_0 Are they like in a really good spot and involved in,
spk_0 you know, are they at school and like enjoying that?
spk_0 And I feel like I have a little bit more time to pour into the company.
spk_0 So it's been for me like constantly evaluating all of those different things.
spk_0 And then from there deciding what the next season should look like.
spk_0 And we were talking about before this.
spk_0 You were mentioning the night you had last night.
spk_0 Yeah, all the wakeups.
spk_0 And yeah, I mean, yeah, that happens to me too.
spk_0 And I think that I've also had to learn to just be okay
spk_0 with not showing up perfectly to things like this morning.
spk_0 Like I had, you know, I've had a rough couple of days
spk_0 as well coming into today.
spk_0 And like I knew coming into it,
spk_0 like I'm not going to be like at top cognition and like all of that.
spk_0 But I'm going to, I'm going to show up and be honest and be real and be myself.
spk_0 And just being okay with like not being at the top of my game
spk_0 is something that I've had to come to grips with.
spk_0 Because at the end of the day, like I would drop all of this in an instant
spk_0 if I needed to for my family.
spk_0 And so rather than like trying to prioritize both at equal levels,
spk_0 like I'm going to prioritize my family.
spk_0 And if things fall through the cracks with my business,
spk_0 things fall through the cracks with my business.
spk_0 If I'm not like at the top of my game every day
spk_0 in doing what I need to do at Primalapier
spk_0 and if things have to be pushed off or things have to wait, that's okay.
spk_0 Like it is what it is.
spk_0 And I for a long time was just like really struggled with like I wanted you
spk_0 my absolute best because I did for a long time.
spk_0 Primalapier was like I was pouring everything into it.
spk_0 And then as I started having kids, that kind of changed.
spk_0 And I have a great team who takes so much on.
spk_0 But there are still things that only I can do.
spk_0 And I'm going to do it to the best of my ability
spk_0 with what I have in my tank at that moment.
spk_0 And sometimes it's a lot and sometimes it isn't.
spk_0 And at the end of the day, like that's okay.
spk_0 Yeah, you tried your best with the bandwidth you had.
spk_0 And in that season of life, I think,
spk_0 well, I appreciate that a lot because I feel like the majority of people
spk_0 either shove themselves wholly into work and feel, at least I feel this way.
spk_0 Like I'll have these seasons where I go, all in at work.
spk_0 And then I can tell when I get home, there's like more tears,
spk_0 there's bigger emotions.
spk_0 And Chris will get me the code word, which is like mother load.
spk_0 And I'm like, oh, like, and then I feel this like guilt and shame
spk_0 because I'm like, I've been gone all day.
spk_0 They've been dealing with a lot and Chris is a phenomenal dad
spk_0 that there's something about a mom like that warmth and softness
spk_0 that's like, what's really going on?
spk_0 Yeah, like trying to dig a little deeper and it's that stability.
spk_0 So you're talking about like kind of checking in.
spk_0 Like I feel like that's what you have to do as an entrepreneur
spk_0 because it's so easy to get sucked right into your business
spk_0 and be so excited about like new products and new things.
spk_0 And I mean, like I just think about it right now.
spk_0 I'm like, new products.
spk_0 We're launching SEO.
spk_0 We're doing all these things.
spk_0 And I'm like, wait, I also decide
spk_0 are we starting something new?
spk_0 Are we launching something?
spk_0 Are we pushing something off?
spk_0 And as much as it like can disappoint people to like push deadlines
spk_0 or change the like timeline, like nothing feels worse than having
spk_0 knowing that your child is feeling unsupported
spk_0 because you've been physically absent.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And like there's no, yeah, there's no amount of like success
spk_0 on the other side that's going to fill that void for me.
spk_0 And yeah, it's been hard.
spk_0 It's definitely a hard thing when you're raising a family
spk_0 and you're kind of pulling yourself out of the limelight
spk_0 or pulling yourself out of the driver's seat more and more.
spk_0 But I don't think we'll ever regret it.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Totally.
spk_0 And you mentioned disappointing people.
spk_0 I think that's something that I struggle with.
spk_0 It's like, if I cancel this,
spk_0 like these people are going to be so disappointed in me.
spk_0 But it's like if I do this, I'm disappointing my kids
spk_0 and like what's more important at the end of the day?
spk_0 And recently I decided like everything.
spk_0 I told my assistant like any request for the rest of the year,
spk_0 just like say no.
spk_0 Tell them to reach back out in the new year
spk_0 because I, if I'm like having to evaluate each one
spk_0 as they come in, like it's going to weigh on me
spk_0 and also at the end of the day,
spk_0 I just, I know that's like the right decision right now.
spk_0 So yeah.
spk_0 I think, yeah, it just goes back to kind of a value
spk_0 in the stage of life and what my kids need for me
spk_0 in this stage and then like prioritizing everything else
spk_0 around that.
spk_0 I love that.
spk_0 Like that, it's kind of like a blanket boundary,
spk_0 but that is keeping you from saying yes to something
spk_0 you would have said no to if it came in first.
spk_0 Do you think about like, you know,
spk_0 50 requests that come across your desk
spk_0 and you go, I have strong boundaries.
spk_0 No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
spk_0 And then one comes in and you're like,
spk_0 oh, maybe that could be a good idea.
spk_0 Like, yeah, I had an opportunity to work with Gabby Reese
spk_0 on this really cool like event.
spk_0 It was over a weekend though.
spk_0 And my kids play Fly Football and they play soccer.
spk_0 And I'm the coach of my four year old soccer team.
spk_0 And I'm just, and I promise myself
spk_0 I would have better boundaries.
spk_0 And it's like those opportunities where I'm like,
spk_0 you know what, if this is meant to be,
spk_0 it will come back around at a different stage in life
spk_0 or at a different time in the week
spk_0 or a different month in the year.
spk_0 And like, I just have to trust that that's, that that's okay.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And like, yeah.
spk_0 So how do you have continued to have trust in the decisions
spk_0 that you make for your business?
spk_0 And like, what guides you?
spk_0 Yeah. I think it comes down to my faith.
spk_0 I mean, I look back at our history at Primali Pierce History
spk_0 and yes, I've worked really hard.
spk_0 But also, I truly believe that like God has allowed it
spk_0 to grow the way it has.
spk_0 And he's put the right people in place every step
spk_0 of the way within the company and also within our home
spk_0 because if I didn't have great help, that's another thing.
spk_0 Like I do have a great support system in the home
spk_0 with my husband and other family.
spk_0 And you know, we've had great, great help
spk_0 with childcare over the years.
spk_0 And so if that wasn't in place,
spk_0 I would not be able to do any of it.
spk_0 And then at the business, just the team that we have
spk_0 is so amazing.
spk_0 And I just fully believe that God has allowed it to flourish
spk_0 the way it has.
spk_0 And like, I've been, I've been faithful
spk_0 and I've done the best with what he's given me.
spk_0 But that is really what gives me the peace of mind
spk_0 of just continuing to operate and trusting that things
spk_0 are going to work out, how they're supposed to work out.
spk_0 And all I have to do is, you know, do the next right thing,
spk_0 make the next right step of faith.
spk_0 But ultimately, there's a limitation
spk_0 to what like I can force to happen.
spk_0 And I just have to like know that
spk_0 and trust that things are going to work out
spk_0 how they're supposed to.
spk_0 And it takes a lot of pressure off
spk_0 when I can maintain that perspective.
spk_0 I'm not always able to.
spk_0 Sometimes I do try to like really force things
spk_0 and like wake up really, I mean,
spk_0 not that there's anything wrong with like waking up really
spk_0 to get extra work in.
spk_0 But I think, yeah, I've had to set limits for myself
spk_0 in terms of like what I can personally do
spk_0 as a human being, knowing that if I push it too much,
spk_0 something is going to suffer, whether it's my own well-being
spk_0 or my kids or what nots at the end of the day,
spk_0 like I just have to trust that things will work out.
spk_0 And there are things within my control,
spk_0 but when I try to like push too much,
spk_0 it just it never ends well.
spk_0 Yeah, no, I mean, it resonates really deeply with me.
spk_0 You just based on the fact that like,
spk_0 you think about, I mean, you have hundreds of employees,
spk_0 you know, over a hundred employees,
spk_0 like I have a solid team of eight,
spk_0 but like even that, like even that responsibility
spk_0 of being like, I have all these part-time moms
spk_0 that work for me that have their family struggles
spk_0 and have, you know, want to like stay in a business
spk_0 and like be excited about something,
spk_0 but also like, I'm responsible for their livelihood.
spk_0 Like if I go through a season where the world feels broken
spk_0 or scary or something happens at the business
spk_0 or like something happens to one of my kids
spk_0 and they're emotional, I still need to like show up online
spk_0 and like be present and produce.
spk_0 And like I've definitely taken breaks
spk_0 where I take them in and I'm like, you know what?
spk_0 Like I can go three days without posting.
spk_0 Like if we take a hit on sales, if we take a hit
spk_0 on downloads or listenership or engagement,
spk_0 like that's, I don't care.
spk_0 That's not real life.
spk_0 Real life is like whatever we're living through
spk_0 at this moment, but that like that, it's not a burden,
spk_0 but it's a responsibility of like people's livelihoods,
spk_0 people's paycheck, people's like every day is,
spk_0 if you start to think it's in your control,
spk_0 it can be just like, exphyxiation.
spk_0 Yes. Like truly like.
spk_0 And it's a good thing to care about, you know,
spk_0 like we should care about our teams
spk_0 and the people that we're employing.
spk_0 But yeah, when we put too much of that pressure on ourselves
spk_0 and think that it really is all on our shoulders
spk_0 and on, you know, how productive we are each and every day,
spk_0 it can be exhausting and also not sustainable.
spk_0 Burnout. Yeah.
spk_0 I remember one time I had an appointment with an osteopath
spk_0 that we see in Arizona and he till like kind of talked to you
spk_0 as he's giving you the treatment.
spk_0 And it was just, I went in and he was like, how are you feeling?
spk_0 I was like just so stressed out.
spk_0 I was so much stressed and he was like,
spk_0 well, what's stressing you out?
spk_0 And I was like, just like people's livelihoods are like,
spk_0 I'm responsible for all these people's livelihoods.
spk_0 Like it's so stressful.
spk_0 And he said something like, no, you're not.
spk_0 Like you can only do like what you are able to do
spk_0 and God's in control.
spk_0 He's in control not only like your life,
spk_0 but of their lives and you have to trust in that or else
spk_0 it's gonna drive you crazy.
spk_0 And that always kind of stuck with me.
spk_0 Like I can't feel totally responsible for their lives
spk_0 and their success and happiness.
spk_0 I can only support them in the best way that I can each day.
spk_0 That's really good perspective.
spk_0 When you think about controlling the controllables,
spk_0 there's so much out of our control
spk_0 and we have to trust God and have our faith
spk_0 and just continue to try to make the right choice every day.
spk_0 When you think about the controllables,
spk_0 like I grew up in a family where my mom was a full state home mom
spk_0 and the team mom and the room mom
spk_0 and I wanna do all those things plus have a full time job
spk_0 in 2026 or almost 2026.
spk_0 And sometimes I feel completely overwhelmed by that
spk_0 and I used to try to do it all by myself
spk_0 and then be like a martyr about it.
spk_0 And then I started to ask for help and get help
spk_0 and build a team and like I went,
spk_0 oh it's fun again, you know?
spk_0 But what is your everyday look like in regards
spk_0 to the help that you bring in or the things that you do
spk_0 that you prioritize for your family and for yourself?
spk_0 Yeah, I mean, I really try to outsource things
spk_0 that I don't have to actually do myself.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And like it's a huge blessing to be able to do that
spk_0 but like I have help with.
spk_0 We have a housekeeper, we have help with laundry.
spk_0 Like I have my assistant bake things for kids birthday parties
spk_0 to meet me at the school with and then I take it into the school
spk_0 and like you know disperse the treat or whatever.
spk_0 Like I just try to think about everything
spk_0 that I don't actually have to show up for,
spk_0 like in my business and in my home.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And try to get help with those things
spk_0 because I wanna be there for, you know,
spk_0 I wanna be there to pass out the treats
spk_0 but I don't have to make the treat.
spk_0 And I don't actually really enjoy making treats that much.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And I wanna like be at every, like I had a podcast last week
spk_0 that I was gonna be podcasting at the farm
spk_0 and had like makeup and things scheduled all morning
spk_0 before the podcast, before we did both of the podcasts
spk_0 and my daughter, the last minute, her teacher,
spk_0 Astro, if she could read a poem on Patriot's Day
spk_0 for the whole school.
spk_0 So it's like, okay, I've gotta like,
spk_0 I've gotta adjust everything and schedule makeup earlier
spk_0 and then go be there for this and then go to the farm.
spk_0 So I don't know, I just try to think about like what,
spk_0 how can I always just adjust things and outsource
spk_0 all the little things that I don't actually need to do.
spk_0 So that I can be there, show it for my kids
spk_0 and show it for my company in the ways that
spk_0 I'm not able to be actually replaced.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Really good priorities.
spk_0 So can we get into the nitty-gritty of that
spk_0 because I think a lot of people don't really talk about,
spk_0 well, like what does that look like
spk_0 when it comes to like the daily routine of like getting up
spk_0 and making breakfast and packing lunches
spk_0 and getting kids off to school
spk_0 and then running to your business and working out
spk_0 and like taping your podcast and writing your content
spk_0 and making dinner.
spk_0 And making sourdough from scratch.
spk_0 I don't do that.
spk_0 I don't do that.
spk_0 Oh my god.
spk_0 All the things you may or may not do.
spk_0 Can you tell me like kind of what the flow looks like
spk_0 because I think people idolize like,
spk_0 oh, like you know, like you do everything organically
spk_0 and it's like great and there's never chaos.
spk_0 Like what is like automated from like grocery delivery
spk_0 or like I don't even know.
spk_0 Thrive market boxes of things or whatever
spk_0 to what is kind of like in flow for you at this stage.
spk_0 I mean, it looks different all the time.
spk_0 But right now, yeah, I'll give you the best rundown.
spk_0 So right now we actually don't have that much help
spk_0 in terms of childcare.
spk_0 We have one person that comes two half days per week.
spk_0 But my kids are in a homeschool pod program.
spk_0 So they're in school now from nine to two.
spk_0 My youngest just started preschool.
spk_0 So he's in preschool three days a week.
spk_0 Just three hour days, three days a week.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 So you have five half days within school
spk_0 and that child care.
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Five half days to work.
spk_0 Like I mean, no, I mean just like where your children are not.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah, where your children aren't like.
spk_0 I'm off.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 I think about those hours very strategically.
spk_0 No, same.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And I think that having a business and having it,
spk_0 you have to be strategic and scheduled or else.
spk_0 Like you'll never get anything done.
spk_0
spk_0 But right now in the mornings, okay,
spk_0 I used to have such a detailed morning routine.
spk_0 Like it was wake up at like five and you know,
spk_0 devotions and prayer and walk and sauna and cold plunge.
spk_0 And you know, I had such a dialed in routine.
spk_0 And now it's like if I can just get outside for 20 minutes,
spk_0 that's like the main thing that I cling to every morning
spk_0 is just spending time outside.
spk_0 Getting morning sunlight, setting my circadian rhythm up for the day
spk_0 and waking up those awake hormones.
spk_0 So that by the time I'm ready to go to sleep,
spk_0 my body can fall asleep better.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 So that's like the main thing that I will prioritize.
spk_0 And sometimes that's a walk outside.
spk_0 Sometimes my youngest wakes up at the same time I do.
spk_0 And so we just go outside and hang out in the backyard together.
spk_0 If I wake up before anyone,
spk_0 yeah, I'll either walk or I'll like read the Bible outside.
spk_0 But it's definitely like not as intense as it used to be
spk_0 my morning routine.
spk_0 And we don't have any help in the mornings.
spk_0 So it's just like my husband and I are the ones
spk_0 getting the kids dressed and lunch is made and breakfast made.
spk_0 And it's just like a scramble
spk_0 and we'll kind of divide and conquer with the drop-offs
spk_0 because they all have separate drop-off locations.
spk_0 So drop-offs and pickups are like a big thing to navigate.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 In this season of life with three different ones now.
spk_0 But yeah, he helps with that.
spk_0 And then once the kids are dropped off,
spk_0 that's when I'll work.
spk_0 And or maybe I'll start the day with a walk
spk_0 if I didn't get to do that earlier.
spk_0 And then, so that's like the days that all of them are gone.
spk_0 And then I'll usually, yeah, I'll work until...
spk_0 Are you working from home?
spk_0 Are you going into an office?
spk_0 I go to...
spk_0 I used to go to our office.
spk_0 We moved to a new headquarters recently.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And so my office is still under construction there.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And so I'll go to our guest house.
spk_0 I was telling you about our housing situation beforehand,
spk_0 but we're renting a house right now
spk_0 because we're remodeling,
spk_0 but in the house that we're remodeling,
spk_0 the guest house is...
spk_0 Still an office.
spk_0 Yeah, it's my office.
spk_0 So that's typically where I'll go to work.
spk_0 And sometimes I'll go there and like walk there.
spk_0 Walking is the other thing.
spk_0 It's like a non-negotiable.
spk_0 At some point during the day, I'm walking with my weighted vest.
spk_0 I was just going to say, do you have the weighted vest?
spk_0 I do.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I'm in that club.
spk_0
spk_0 But I just feel like I get more out of it.
spk_0 It's more effective and feels more of a workout,
spk_0 totally than a normal walk would.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 So I love that.
spk_0 And then, yeah, I love to be able to pick up.
spk_0 I don't always on the days that we have child care help.
spk_0 She, like today, for example,
spk_0 my husband's out here in Irvine, coaching basketball.
spk_0 I'm out here in Newport, recording with you.
spk_0 So our babysitter is picking up the kids today
spk_0 and then she's done at five.
spk_0 But yeah, I'm kind of just working during the day.
spk_0 And then Fridays, the kids don't have school.
spk_0 So Fridays is like totally off family day.
spk_0 Maybe I'm responding to some texts and emails
spk_0 if there's anything that like super important.
spk_0 But Fridays just kind of like with the family.
spk_0 But then going back to like once like five o'clock
spk_0 is once the kids are all home and I'm home,
spk_0 it's like getting dinner ready, hanging out.
spk_0 We live right now next to some family
spk_0 and some friends right next door.
spk_0 So the kids are a lot of times like outside playing together.
spk_0 And yeah, it's like dinner sometimes a movie before bed
spk_0 and you know, bath time, PJs, all that stuff.
spk_0 And then I'll read a little bit before I go to bed.
spk_0 That's kind of how I let my brain like wind down.
spk_0 I'm not a TV person.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 But I love reading fiction.
spk_0 I used to read just a lot of personal growth books.
spk_0 And that just became too exhausting for me.
spk_0 I'm like, okay, I can implement,
spk_0 I've implemented all that I can implement right now.
spk_0 And yeah, I just want to like kind of drift off to do
spk_0 yourself in book lovers.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah, a little Emily Henry or something.
spk_0 Yeah, yeah.
spk_0 So fiction, I've like become such a fan of fiction.
spk_0 And that's like, I feel like something about the hypnotic
spk_0 effect of like reading, like going from like,
spk_0 I don't know, the moving your eyes around
spk_0 and like reading actually just makes you more tired too.
spk_0 Oh yeah.
spk_0 And I also have my blue blockers that I put on.
spk_0 Usually not right when the sun goes down,
spk_0 but shortly after I love our magnesium sleep spray,
spk_0 I spray that on the bottom of my feet before bed.
spk_0
spk_0 Yeah, that's kind of a day.
spk_0 I feel like I'm not in a season where I have a lot of like
spk_0 personal time or space right now.
spk_0 And especially with remodeling and just the hectic nature
spk_0 of our living situation.
spk_0 Like I would love to have a little bit more time to
spk_0 go on our sauna more often.
spk_0 And we have a hyperbarek chamber at our house
spk_0 that I haven't been able to use in a really long time.
spk_0 So I do love all that stuff.
spk_0 But I think if you try to squeeze it in to a season of life
spk_0 that doesn't make sense, it can actually be more draining
spk_0 than life giving.
spk_0 And so I love the biohacks.
spk_0 I think it's really interesting and I love learning
spk_0 about all that stuff and implementing it.
spk_0 But it just, I think it's something you have to navigate
spk_0 based on like where you're at right now.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I feel like being excited about it and being energized
spk_0 and motivated by it versus it being like an ice orange
spk_0 or in your house and being just a reminder
spk_0 that you're not going to be done can be almost more
spk_0 stressful sometimes.
spk_0 For sure.
spk_0 For sure.
spk_0 So when it comes to your nutrition and your family's
spk_0 nutrition then like what are you prioritizing?
spk_0 What are you loving?
spk_0 Like what's making you feel the best?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Protein like with our farm, we get all of our meat
spk_0 from primal pastures and we have meat.
spk_0 You've got the hook up.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 We do that almost every meal.
spk_0 I'm not very skilled in the kitchen.
spk_0 My husband is better than me.
spk_0 So if I'm cooking it's like ground Italian chicken
spk_0 and like avocado and maybe like some sourdough bread
spk_0 for my kids, which I don't really.
spk_0 But yeah, sometimes smoothies in the morning.
spk_0 I mean, busy mornings is like love bird cereal
spk_0 with raw milk from our omesh co-op.
spk_0 But yeah, typically like we prioritize protein,
spk_0 animal-based protein at every meal
spk_0 and then vegetables, fruit, you know, stuff like that.
spk_0 Pretty simple.
spk_0 We keep it pretty simple.
spk_0 Like crock pot sounds like the lot to.
spk_0 And there's a lot to primal.
spk_0 Yeah, pretty primal.
spk_0 Like as a foundation.
spk_0 But like I used to eat more like paleo
spk_0 is how I started eating when I got involved in all of this
spk_0 and not like totally changed my life.
spk_0 And I felt so much better eating paleo.
spk_0 And I've like since fine-tuned not even more.
spk_0 I don't eat as many nuts and seeds now.
spk_0 It's more like protein, some fermented vegetables,
spk_0 a little bit of fruit, a little bit of raw dairy.
spk_0 Dairy, yeah.
spk_0 Yeah, it feels like that pendulum swing has happened
spk_0 where it's like the bringing down of like maybe the nuts
spk_0 and seeds a little bit and bringing up of the dairy.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 A little bit less of, yeah, just a little bit more.
spk_0 I think like when you first start eating healthy,
spk_0 I don't know if you experienced this,
spk_0 but I did and a lot of people I know
spk_0 was like you try to find replacements for the foods
spk_0 that you grew up eating or the treats specifically.
spk_0 It was something that I was always like so into
spk_0 like paleo brownies, paleo cookies,
spk_0 just like paleo versions of every treat.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And I just haven't been doing that as much lately
spk_0 and I felt so much better.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 You know what was kind of crazy for me is like after each
spk_0 pregnancy, like Sebastian had dairy and egg allergy
spk_0 and then like, Tosh and we weren't really sure.
spk_0 Like had little bouts of X-Men in the beginning.
spk_0 And so I would just like like in that,
spk_0 probably like 14 days to like two, three weeks prior to birth,
spk_0 I would like cut out all dairy to get rid of the milk protein.
spk_0 And then I would just basically eat like really bland plain.
spk_0 Like I just feel like a ground beef,
spk_0 blueberries, sour, crout, like just, you know, like for breakfast.
spk_0 And be like, that's like what I every morning.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I just like eggs like, you know, it was a very simple like
spk_0 not a lot of ink and I swear I like never felt better.
spk_0 And it was just being like, I'm not sure if he's gonna be
spk_0 allergic to nuts or eggs or dairy or whatever.
spk_0 So you start so simple and then like build up
spk_0 and I swear like the postpartum's where I got serious
spk_0 about that was just like the mental clarity,
spk_0 like the physical body composition, the energy levels,
spk_0 like being able to like get through sleep deprivation.
spk_0 It was all totally and not having to think about like making
spk_0 an elaborate meal.
spk_0 It's just like it can be so simple.
spk_0 I'm healthy, so simple.
spk_0 We do a lot of ground beef and ground meats also
spk_0 because Primal Pastors has the best like flavored
spk_0 ground beef and ground chickens.
spk_0 And so we do I do a lot of those.
spk_0 Okay, well, my husband always jokes with me like,
spk_0 oh, mom's cooking dinner.
spk_0 It's like ground beef.
spk_0
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Okay, whatever.
spk_0 Well, it's easy and it's quick.
spk_0 And honestly like, yeah, it's like that.
spk_0 You can do that in like 10 minutes or you can get takeout.
spk_0 And it's like, I know.
spk_0 And it's so much better for this.
spk_0 We're saving money.
spk_0 We're getting better nutrients.
spk_0 It's super simple.
spk_0 And then your palate is like primed for that too.
spk_0 Yeah, I caught roast.
spk_0 Do you guys do pot roast?
spk_0 Oh, yeah.
spk_0 I mean, it's the best.
spk_0 It takes five minutes in the morning to throw in a roast
spk_0 and like chop up carrots and onion.
spk_0 And then at the end of the day, you have a meal.
spk_0 It's literally like my grandma and my mom.
spk_0 Like that kind of reminds me of my childhood.
spk_0 Like just at least like my grandma didn't use to put it
spk_0 in the plastic bag with the seasoning.
spk_0 But I remember when I was growing up,
spk_0 like that was the thing.
spk_0 Like it was like a pot roast and it came with like a seasoning
spk_0 packet and they put it in a plastic bag.
spk_0 And now I'm like, oh my god.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 They did that.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 But it's all the microwaves like plastic meals totally.
spk_0 Okay, well, let's talk a little bit more about
spk_0 primal apurr.
spk_0 Because one, I had never really heard of
spk_0 tallow skin care until you guys came out.
spk_0 And then I was using your like,
spk_0 I think it's like an almond vanilla lotion.
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 Yeah, almond vanilla body better.
spk_0 I'm like, oh, the body butter is amazing.
spk_0 But talk to me about, obviously,
spk_0 you came out with the odorant first, right?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And I've seen your rebrand.
spk_0 It looks, I mean, phenomenal, by the way.
spk_0 Like so elevated.
spk_0 And I think that was the thing.
spk_0 Like I used to buy skin care at Whole Foods.
spk_0 And you're like, it looks super granola.
spk_0 Yeah, it's vegan.
spk_0 Yeah, air quotes.
spk_0 No test on animals.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 Or you're, or I was trying to use those deodorants
spk_0 and they were full of baking soda.
spk_0 And I would get crazy rashes under my armpits
spk_0 and then be like, forget it.
spk_0 I smell and I'm itchy and burning.
spk_0 Like not going to do it.
spk_0 But talk me through the evolution of your brand.
spk_0 And like, like, how the products evolved in what you've added.
spk_0 Because I mean, your bass salts are amazing.
spk_0 Like there's like the shower.
spk_0 I don't know what you call them.
spk_0 The steamers.
spk_0 The shower steamers.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I was like, the little cubes I throw in the shower on the ground.
spk_0 Like, talk me through some of the products
spk_0 and like what you're excited about for the brand.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I mean, we have so many skews now.
spk_0 And like you mentioned, we started with just deodorant
spk_0 because I felt like that was such an important swap
spk_0 that everybody should make.
spk_0 And then we had like body better lip balm.
spk_0 We had an outdoor lotion.
spk_0 That's what we called it back then.
spk_0 It was a sunscreen.
spk_0 But sunscreen is actually considered a drug
spk_0 by the FDA.
spk_0 And so I just didn't feel comfortable
spk_0 as we were growing like continuing to sell a sunscreen product
spk_0 that wasn't like technically a sunscreen.
spk_0 I just felt kind of like sketchy.
spk_0
spk_0 And so we recently came out with a sunscreen.
spk_0 That's FDA-approved and legit sunscreen,
spk_0 which is really exciting.
spk_0 But yeah, we've added so many things.
spk_0 And I really just kind of started replacing things in my,
spk_0 I mean, the things that I was making
spk_0 were replacements to the products
spk_0 that I had been using for my whole life.
spk_0 And so that is kind of what has guided
spk_0 a lot of our product evolution is just,
spk_0 what do I want a natural version of that I can't find?
spk_0 And then more recently now that we have so many things,
spk_0 it's kind of like we take in a lot of customer feedback
spk_0 and a lot of feedback from the team
spk_0 on just what's out there, what's next for the brand.
spk_0 And it's been so fun.
spk_0 Like creating products is so fun.
spk_0 As you know, I mean, you do it too.
spk_0 And like with our home collection,
spk_0 we have a home line now of a hand soap.
spk_0 Have your candles.
spk_0 Do you?
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 In like every room.
spk_0 Because I would like got rid of candles.
spk_0 And it was like never using candles ever again.
spk_0 And I was like, wait a second,
spk_0 probably if you're a hand, candles.
spk_0 Exactly.
spk_0 And I grew up using, I loved scented things growing up.
spk_0 And now I stay far away from fragrance.
spk_0 But I know especially for certain times of the year,
spk_0 like the holidays, I grew up using bathroom body works,
spk_0 different like bathroom body works,
spk_0 lotions and candles and all of that
spk_0 for Thanksgiving, Christmas.
spk_0 And I'm like, I want, I want something that's still fun,
spk_0 but that's also not full of toxins.
spk_0 And so that inspired the home line.
spk_0 But yeah, it's just been,
spk_0 creating products is like such a fun evolution.
spk_0 And right now, I think we have a lot of baseline products covered.
spk_0 And we're just working on adding to our collection.
spk_0 We're working on an eye serum.
spk_0 A few different cool serums with ingredients
spk_0 that are more popular within like the nutritional
spk_0 and biohacking world, incorporating some of those
spk_0 into our products.
spk_0 So excited about that.
spk_0 We're adding more things to our SPF collection next summer.
spk_0 So excited about that.
spk_0 But yeah, lots on the horizon.
spk_0 How far out is your timeline?
spk_0 Like when you're looking to get into R&D on a product
spk_0 to like release?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 It depends on the product.
spk_0 For the sun stuff, it takes a long time
spk_0 because of all the FDA testing.
spk_0 So for those products, gosh, I think the timeline is like
spk_0 a year and a half, two years.
spk_0 Wow.
spk_0 I think it was about two years for the sun cream
spk_0 that we launched several months ago.
spk_0 Yeah, you had some pretty viral billboards in that way.
spk_0 That was fun.
spk_0 It seems like it.
spk_0 So like what is your sort of brand,
spk_0 like your brand messaging and like kind of going viral
spk_0 or being fringe?
spk_0 Like you have some guts.
spk_0 Like what was the impetus of that?
spk_0 Yeah, I think we wanted to establish our position
spk_0 within the skincare and beauty world.
spk_0 I think something that differentiates us a lot
spk_0 is our use of talent obviously.
spk_0 And so our first billboard campaign,
spk_0 which was in 2024, was beef fat on your face makes you hotter.
spk_0 And of course that upset a lot of people,
spk_0 especially the vegans like PETA did several Instagram posts
spk_0 about us and it's just fun.
spk_0 Like I love being controversial,
spk_0 not just for the sake of being controversial,
spk_0 but about things that I truly believe in.
spk_0 So I care what people think.
spk_0 I'm not saying that I'm someone
spk_0 just doesn't care about anyone or anyone's opinions.
spk_0 But if I feel strongly about something,
spk_0 like it's so fun to lean into that
spk_0 and like watch people get mad about it.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 So I thought the beef tell the thing.
spk_0 I thought people were upset then,
spk_0 but then when we did our sunscreen ads
spk_0 and they said the sun isn't poison,
spk_0 but your sunscreen is.
spk_0 And people flipped out over those like way more
spk_0 than the beef tell the thing.
spk_0 I mean, I knew that we were poking something,
spk_0 but I didn't know like how badly people would freak out
spk_0 about it.
spk_0 But I was like, yeah, bring it on.
spk_0 Let's go.
spk_0 Get mad.
spk_0 I mean, you'll realize like in five years
spk_0 that we were on something.
spk_0 Yeah, you were right.
spk_0 When you make that quote, unquote claim,
spk_0 like, can you talk to me about why your sunscreen is different
spk_0 and like what you guys are trying to do differently
spk_0 when it comes to sun protection?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 So a lot of people thought that we were anti sunscreen
spk_0 when saying that the sun isn't poison,
spk_0 but your sunscreen is.
spk_0 But obviously we're selling a sunscreen.
spk_0 So we're not anti sunscreen,
spk_0 but we are anti sunscreens
spk_0 that have carcinogenic
spk_0 and hormone disrupting ingredients.
spk_0 And even the FDA now is recognizing every chemical filter
spk_0 as being carcinogenic
spk_0 and not carcinogenic, sorry,
spk_0 but the FDA is recognizing every chemical UV filter
spk_0 as being not safe anymore.
spk_0 Whereas previously they were all considered safe
spk_0 and now they've come out with a statement saying,
spk_0 we're actually not sure if they're safe,
spk_0 but they're still in the market.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 So what we know is that these ingredients
spk_0 cause a chemical reaction in the skin
spk_0 when the sun hits the skin.
spk_0 The skin undergoes a chemical reaction
spk_0 and the byproducts of that chemical reaction
spk_0 are carcinogens.
spk_0 And so JAMA did a study recently that showed
spk_0 that after one application of chemical sunscreen
spk_0 that there were levels in the bloodstream
spk_0 of those chemicals at 200 to 500 times
spk_0 what's considered the safe legal limit.
spk_0 And so there's sound information now
spk_0 that chemical based sunscreens are not safe.
spk_0 And that's what we're sounding the alarm on,
spk_0 that not to avoid using sunscreen and bake in the sun,
spk_0 but to reconsider what you're using for sun protection
spk_0 and use something that has zinc oxide
spk_0 and ingredient that has stood the test of time
spk_0 that offers a physical barrier,
spk_0 not just a chemical barrier.
spk_0 It's almost like we're in clothing.
spk_0 I'm not gonna say it's better than clothing,
spk_0 like protective clothing is the most, you know,
spk_0 sure way to not get a sunburn.
spk_0 But you're getting a physical barrier
spk_0 with zinc oxide that chemical sunscreens can't compete with.
spk_0 Yeah, I feel like if anyone takes anything away
spk_0 from this, they're gonna be so inspired
spk_0 by your entrepreneurial journey and what you juggle as a mom.
spk_0 But if they're gonna clean anything out,
spk_0 like deodorant lotion sunscreen.
spk_0 Like where are you covering your body and your kid's body?
spk_0 Like what are you slathering all over yourself?
spk_0 Because if you think about that chemical sunscreen
spk_0 creating 200 to 500 times,
spk_0 like what should be the acceptable limit?
spk_0 Like after one application,
spk_0 like that, I mean, we know that
spk_0 transdermal application of pharmaceuticals is a thing.
spk_0 Like it's going through your skin.
spk_0 It's permeable, you know?
spk_0 And not to mention spray sunscreens.
spk_0 Oh, it's like someone's moving a cigarette around me
spk_0 when they start to spray at the beach.
spk_0 I'm like, I mean, these are benzene propellants
spk_0 that they're using and benzene is a known carcinogen
spk_0 and parents are just covering their kids
spk_0 and clouds of this stuff.
spk_0 These kids aren't holding their breath
spk_0 while their mom is spraying them
spk_0 with this cloud of spray sunscreen.
spk_0 They're breathing and inhaling all of that
spk_0 and inhaling carcinogens.
spk_0 Yeah, I know.
spk_0 And I don't care.
spk_0 Like I know people get upset.
spk_0 They're like, I have to slather it on
spk_0 and my kids are all covered in white
spk_0 and even my husband, Chris, is like, I look like a cook.
spk_0 And I'm like, I don't care.
spk_0 I don't want you to have cancer.
spk_0 Like I just want you to just like,
spk_0 if you're gonna surf for four hours,
spk_0 a couple of times a week, like I just,
spk_0 there's a picture of Mark Zuckerberg
spk_0 and he's like completely covered in white
spk_0 and it was like a meme that he sent me one time
spk_0 and he now look at me and be like, am I second?
spk_0 And I grew second, baby.
spk_0 Like just like full, white zinc face.
spk_0 I'm like, I can get you the pink or blue ones, you know?
spk_0 No.
spk_0 I know those were wild.
spk_0 Yeah, I'm going over them.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 But it is, it's just an important topic,
spk_0 especially when people don't understand,
spk_0 you know, you have melanomas,
spk_0 you have like major skin cancer issues
spk_0 that can be like genetic and, you know,
spk_0 but you just, you just want to do your best.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Well, I interviewed a skin cancer surgeon
spk_0 and he said in the interview that the most deadly forms
spk_0 of melanoma are not actually UV related.
spk_0 Like there's a UV signature on various cancers on melanoma,
spk_0 on basal cell, on, you know, all of these things
spk_0 they can tell by looking at a under-microscoped
spk_0 whether it has a UV signature or not.
spk_0 And the most deadly forms of melanoma
spk_0 don't have that UV signature.
spk_0 So the sun is just, so it's a misunderstood topic.
spk_0 There was a study two in Sweden
spk_0 where they followed 20,000 women who avoided the sun.
spk_0 And at the end of the study,
spk_0 they had the same cardiovascular mortality
spk_0 as pack of day smokers.
spk_0 And so what we can learn from that
spk_0 is that the sun actually gives us so much immune protection
spk_0 with the vitamin D that we get from it.
spk_0 And avoiding it completely is not the answer
spk_0 and is actually really detrimental for our health.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I don't know if you've, I followed Jack Cruz since like 2013.
spk_0 I do too.
spk_0 Such a character.
spk_0 But like the stuff he says like 10 years later,
spk_0 it's becomes mainstream.
spk_0 And it's just pretty amazing some of the literature
spk_0 and just like mitochondrial function
spk_0 and how it's impacted by, you know,
spk_0 red light and the sun and acercadian biology
spk_0 and all of that.
spk_0 So fascinating.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 I feel like, you know, I'm like, sometimes I'm like,
spk_0 I wish that you could like distill it down for people.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 A little bit better because then people would get on board.
spk_0 Totally.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 I love the fringe people like that.
spk_0 I think that a lot of people are turned off by it.
spk_0 But I'm like, let's not throw the baby out
spk_0 with the bath water.
spk_0 Like there's something they're trying to say.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Totally.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 But I do think we need to look at light
spk_0 as another nutrient.
spk_0 I'm almost like the food that we're consuming.
spk_0 Like what is our light intake?
spk_0 And I think that people need to think about that more.
spk_0 And I don't think it's like really hit home yet
spk_0 for most people.
spk_0 But I do think it will more and more in the next several years.
spk_0 I mean, we're definitely on the same page.
spk_0 I think about my kids and like how much time
spk_0 they're spending outside.
spk_0 And I'm like, okay, how can I get them back outside?
spk_0 How can I get them on the sports field?
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 How can we not be on the astro field?
spk_0 Can we get them to practice on the grass field
spk_0 across the street?
spk_0 Like how do we, like I'm,
spk_0 things I didn't think I would have to start thinking about,
spk_0 which is like, what is the air they're breathing?
spk_0 What is the water they're drinking?
spk_0 What is the light they're getting?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And you're like, that's not even talking about protein,
spk_0 that vibrant green.
spk_0 And see, you know, like that's, that is,
spk_0 yeah, the most important stuff.
spk_0 And most of the time they're just under,
spk_0 I mean, if they're in traditional school,
spk_0 like my kids are, we talked about it,
spk_0 they're like in a little,
spk_0 a little Catholic school in our town,
spk_0 but I just like worry about UV lighting.
spk_0 And I'm like, can we get more of their classes outside?
spk_0 Can we get them more recess and lunchtime?
spk_0 And then I have these thoughts like,
spk_0 I should be homeschooling.
spk_0 And it's not even about not,
spk_0 I mean, I love their teachers.
spk_0 I love the curriculum.
spk_0 I love like the faith values that they stand for.
spk_0 It's, it's really just like the air and my sunlight.
spk_0 That's what I'm trying to get more of, you know?
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 Oh, I know.
spk_0 And it's never going to be like perfect,
spk_0 but I think we can mitigate a lot of the harmful effects
spk_0 of indoor lighting from going outside in the morning,
spk_0 being outside in the evening at sunset
spk_0 and just on weekends, like getting out as much as possible.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Morning sunlight, I'm just, that's like one thing
spk_0 that I'm really trying to prioritize for all of us,
spk_0 letting our first sun exposure be like natural.
spk_0 Yeah, your first light exposure.
spk_0 Do you feel, do you feel like you've noticed a difference
spk_0 in yourself personally from that?
spk_0 Yeah, I do.
spk_0 Hack?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I mean, I, I struggle when I don't get it.
spk_0 There's been times where I've had an early flight
spk_0 or over the summer we were on a road trip
spk_0 and like staying in, you know,
spk_0 stuffy hotel rooms sometimes.
spk_0 And then we'd have to like get out
spk_0 and get to another destination by a certain time
spk_0 and I would like exit the hotel
spk_0 and kind of like I was doing before this interview.
spk_0 Just like staring at the sun with my eyes closed.
spk_0 Like I just, my body needs it and craves it so much now.
spk_0 And it, it just, I feel so much more clear headed,
spk_0 so much more energized.
spk_0 And when I don't get it now, I'm like, ugh,
spk_0 I feel like I'm dying inside.
spk_0 It feels horrible.
spk_0 I know.
spk_0 I know we are in like the dungeon.
spk_0 And I said, welcome to the dungeon.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I meant it.
spk_0 Like I have to have that balcony
spk_0 and sometimes these days are, they're,
spk_0 they're a little crazy with my, yeah,
spk_0 just my energy levels.
spk_0 And I get these like surges of energy after I'm like depleted
spk_0 and then I get like a crazy surge of energy late.
spk_0 And I'm like, go to bed.
spk_0 No.
spk_0 Are you ever gonna wear the yellow?
spk_0 The yellow glasses while you do these?
spk_0 I know, right?
spk_0 You just like, maybe.
spk_0 I'm still a lot more relaxed.
spk_0 Either that.
spk_0 I was doing my best.
spk_0 Either that or I'm like,
spk_0 hey, best better come out right in the farm.
spk_0 And start taping with you.
spk_0 Like just keep the production up.
spk_0 They're gonna be like, this is not right.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Oh my gosh.
spk_0 Well, are there any other like knowing all that you know
spk_0 and being immersed in like the wellness world
spk_0 for as long as you have?
spk_0 Well, also being a mom in the stage of life
spk_0 where you're like, hello, I'd like some personal time.
spk_0 What other than the morning light,
spk_0 is there anything that you kind of like pepper in
spk_0 and you're in your fiction novels?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Anything that you pepper in that you're like,
spk_0 that feels really good or that's something
spk_0 that's making me feel a little more balanced.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Well, at the house we're renting now,
spk_0 we do have a sauna there.
spk_0 So I love Inferred Zana.
spk_0 Like it's my favorite biohack.
spk_0 I love it.
spk_0 I don't get to do it every day.
spk_0 I don't get to do it every day,
spk_0 but I do try to get that in like whenever I can
spk_0 because I notice such a difference with that.
spk_0 And yeah, I mean, there's so many studies
spk_0 on the benefits of sweating out toxins
spk_0 and how good that is for us.
spk_0 So I love love the Inferred Zana.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0
spk_0 I know this is something that you've been talking about
spk_0 for a long time, but blood sugar balance.
spk_0 And I'm just realizing more and more of the importance
spk_0 of that.
spk_0 And so that's been a priority for me lately, not just in,
spk_0 I mean, I've always known it's important.
spk_0 And so I've always tried to be mindful of it
spk_0 with what I'm eating.
spk_0 But now I'm thinking about it in so many different ways also
spk_0 like with movement.
spk_0 I tried to do air squats, this seems silly,
spk_0 but to some people maybe,
spk_0 but like I tried to do air squats after every meal
spk_0 or take a walk, like I try to time my walks with meals,
spk_0 with thing after meals to kind of bring that blood sugar
spk_0 back into balance and let the muscles take in that glucose
spk_0 so that it's not circulating in the bloodstream.
spk_0 And that's important for skin health too.
spk_0 I think something that not a lot of people
spk_0 talk about is glycation.
spk_0 And with glycation, if there's too much blood,
spk_0 or if there's too much glucose in the bloodstream,
spk_0 it can bind to proteins and create advanced
spk_0 glycation end products or AGEs.
spk_0 And that chokes out collagen and elastin.
spk_0 And that's why the term sugar stag exists
spk_0 because this skin can literally start to sag
spk_0 from an excess of glucose in the bloodstream.
spk_0 And so yeah, I just think it's important for so many things
spk_0 and kind of similar to light in the sense of more and more people
spk_0 becoming aware, but I still think it needs more awareness.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 It's interesting.
spk_0 Yeah, it does still need more awareness.
spk_0 Sometimes I feel like I'm like beating to my own little drum
spk_0 or I'm like a broken record, you know,
spk_0 where I don't want to keep preaching blood sugar.
spk_0 But every time I go back and talk about it again,
spk_0 I'm like, oh, it's like an aha moment
spk_0 or a minor for people.
spk_0 And your air squats, like just so people know
spk_0 as your blood sugar goes up and then you start to move
spk_0 your large muscles, they are sucking that blood sugar out.
spk_0 So it's like blunting your response
spk_0 and keeping you more at like a rolling, low rolling.
spk_0 And if you were to wear a continuous glucose monitor,
spk_0 I don't know if you've ever done that.
spk_0 But it makes a major impact.
spk_0 And people are like, what?
spk_0 Just that little bit of movement.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 It's very wrong to Patrick of you to do air air squats.
spk_0 Oh, it's, yeah.
spk_0 I do jumping air squats.
spk_0 So I do like 15 to 25.
spk_0 What do you think is that enough?
spk_0 I mean, I think that's great.
spk_0 I think a lot of people are just sitting
spk_0 and they're not doing that.
spk_0 And just even that like waking those muscles up
spk_0 and like getting them.
spk_0 It's like the sunlight.
spk_0 It's another thing that my body, I'm like,
spk_0 if I like when I got here and I went to the bathroom downstairs,
spk_0 I did 10 jumping air squats.
spk_0 I'm like, I just need to wait for the car time.
spk_0 Yeah, from sitting in the car for an hour and a half.
spk_0 Thanks for being here by the way.
spk_0 Thanks for driving that part.
spk_0 I'm in an honor.
spk_0 Yeah, really, really cool.
spk_0 Wow.
spk_0 Well, all right.
spk_0 So we're taking the air squats.
spk_0 We're taking the morning light.
spk_0 We're always focused on blood sugar balance here
spk_0 at B.O.L. by Kelly.
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 And then I just want to applaud you for having
spk_0 controversial topics be a part of your like marketing strategy,
spk_0 just because I don't think a lot of people
spk_0 are questioning what they're doing.
spk_0 And they, moms don't want to spray benzones
spk_0 or whatever on their kids.
spk_0 They don't really want to.
spk_0 They don't really know better.
spk_0 So they're not able to do better.
spk_0 But those kind of things get people talking and questioning and changing.
spk_0 So thank you for making TALO products available.
spk_0 We don't have to like render TALO in our own kitchen
spk_0 to get high quality products.
spk_0 My favorites are the almond vanilla body butter.
spk_0 I love all of your basalt.
spk_0 I love your candles.
spk_0 There's some type of like, I want to say it's like a green mask.
spk_0 Oh, yeah, like the soothing mask.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 The spirulina mask.
spk_0 I like that.
spk_0 Don't want to try the coffee mask yet.
spk_0 No.
spk_0 I was supposed to bring it for you today.
spk_0 I have a bag at the house that I was going to bring.
spk_0 And I totally forgot.
spk_0 So I'll mail it to you.
spk_0 Yeah, no worries.
spk_0 We'll do a mail swap.
spk_0 OK.
spk_0 I'll get you some creatine.
spk_0 Nice.
spk_0 Thank you.
spk_0 I took your creatine this morning in my coffee.
spk_0 Yes, too.
spk_0 And I have some here.
spk_0 You need another dose.
spk_0 I might use it for you.
spk_0 I might use it for you.
spk_0 OK, cool.
spk_0 Oh, well, this was awesome.
spk_0 It's been like a pleasure to watch you
spk_0 from afar, build your brand, and just
spk_0 be like an example of a mom doing it all.
spk_0 And like sharing actually how you get it done.
spk_0 So thank you for doing that, too.
spk_0 Where can people follow along with your journey?
spk_0 Where can they listen to your podcast?
spk_0 Where can they buy, primarily pure?
spk_0 All the things.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Well, I want to say thank you to you, too,
spk_0 because I've been admiring you and your work
spk_0 from afar for a long time also.
spk_0 And I feel like you are not afraid to be bold either.
spk_0 And especially I've thought about this with you
spk_0 like your work with celebrities and just how connected
spk_0 and in the LA scene that you've been
spk_0 and then being able to share truths.
spk_0 I'm sure at times hasn't been easy or always well received,
spk_0 but definitely respect you for that.
spk_0 So it's been amazing talking to you today.
spk_0 Thank you.

spk_0 Well, thanks, Bethany.
spk_0 I really appreciate it.
spk_0 And thank you for saying that.

spk_0 have to like shift.
spk_0 And it takes a lot of, I don't know, people like you
spk_0 that inspire me to be brave.
spk_0 So thank you for that.
