A historic betrayal of public trust. I'm Dave Anthony, FOX News. That's what Attorney General Pam Bondi just told senators at a hearing, that during the Biden administration, the FBI secretly investigated.
Speaker B
You and your colleagues. Why they wanted to take President Trump off the playing field.
Speaker A
That surveillance dates back to special counsel Jack Smith, who the president at Truth Social Post calls a sleazebag. In the investigation into the January 6 Capitol riot, Smith tracked the phone records of nine Republican senators.
Speaker B
This is the kind of conduct that shatters the American people's faith in our law enforcement system.
Speaker A
But Democratic Senator Dick Durbin just told Bondi the opposite is happening, that it's the FBI weaponizing government. Now.
Speaker C
Our nation's top law enforcement agency has become a shield for the president and his political allies.
Speaker A
And he's critical of the hundreds of pardons President Trump gave those convicted in the Capitol riots.
Speaker C
Jared Weiss was filmed on January 6 encouraging his fellow rioters to attack the Metropolitan Police Department officers. And he said, f him, kill him. What happened to Mr. Weiss? He's been hired by you as a senior advisor.
Speaker A
And Durbin and Bonnie just had a back and forth moments ago about the Trump crackdown on crime and protests over immigration raids.
Speaker C
The word is, and I think it's been confirmed by the White House, they are going to transfer Texas National Guard units to the state of Illinois. What's the rationale for that?
Speaker B
The National Guard are on the way to Chicago. If you're not going to protect your citizens, President Trump will.
Speaker A
Now, a federal judge has already blocked the president from sending troops to Portland, Oregon. Today marks two years since the Hamas terror attack in Israel, killing nearly 1200 people, taking more than 250 hostage, triggering the war in Gaza. Israel and Hamas aren't in direct talks today in Egypt on a ceasefire plan.
Speaker D
Part of phase one, the release of 48 hostages by Hamas, 20 of whom who are believed to be alive. In return, Israel expected to release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences.

It's a mixed bag so far on Wall Street. The dow is down 22 points, but the NASDAQ is up 22. The S&P 500 is gaining 2. And both of those are adding to yesterday's record high. Now the price of gold has hit a new all time high this morning, topping $4,000 an ounce for the first time. But oil not moving much. It's up a dime, still around 61 bucks a barrel. Gas is down a penny. AAA's national average for regular $3.12 per gallon, that is a nickel less than a year ago. There is a food recall trying to stop people from getting sick.
Speaker F
If you've got any HelloFresh subscription meal kits containing spinach in your fridge, don't eat them. Fresh Realm, the company that produces the meals, has reached out to the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service after the spinach used in the products tested positive for Listeria bacteria. The San Clemente, California based company is now linked to an expanding listeria outbreak tied to heat and eat pasta meals. C.J. papa, Fox News.

Three scientists in the U.S. are being honored sharing the Nobel Prize for physics for their work pioneering digital technology.
Speaker G
The Nobel committee saying the work of John Clark, who conducted his research at the University of California, Berkeley, John M. Martinez at the University of California, Santa Barbara and Michel Devray, also at UC Santa Barbara as well as Yale, provides opportunities to develop the next generation of quantum technology, including quantum cryptography, quantum computers and quantum sensors. Quantum tunneling involves electrons passing through energy barriers that they seemingly cannot surmount with their energy and plays an essential role in phenomena such as nuclear fusion. Lillian Wu, FOX News.

In the baseball playoffs, Milwaukee beat Chicago. The Los Angeles Dodgers top Philadelphia. So the brewers are up to nothing on the Cubs, the Dodgers up two games to none on the Phillies. I'm Dave Anthony and this is FOX News.
