ended up going and then we had another book come after her so anyways so instead of just ending with

kind of a cliffhanger this is your happily ever after for now. So yeah this is like a quick

epilogue so we're taking a break for summer we're gonna take one a little bit early this year and

we're gonna be back in the fall with a brand new book from Alex Sariley so you have to wait until then

in the fall and I literally thought through my mind by the time we get back my daughter will have

moved out my son will have a driver's license and I will turn 40. Holy shit we're gonna have so

down because I'm gonna hit you with all this stuff. Oh I know this is supposed to be a quick one but

we found out today um my daughter's going to KU she's going to KU. Oh fucking uh go wait she's

was it uh J Hawks yeah yeah okay they are big they're fucking good in basketball yeah they have

housing for their gay students no yes it's just for their gay students so she could even be

rooms with maybe a boy oh that's pretty cool though because she said in her application thing she

just said she didn't want it what did she call it she goes as long as it's not a cis male she's like

I said for all the requests she says I'll share a room with a gay guy transgender whatever but I don't

her I could put that on there too she was like she was really excited she actually didn't

realize how relieved she was until she's you know she's like I was really kind of worried about

going to Kansas which actually KU is a super liberal town I mean there's a reason why they pushed

what a relief you know what though I've never felt endangered around a trans person

had to tell you this story that happened the other day it was on our anniversary and we've

married 16 years this year so it was kind of like it was like oh you know whatever and so he came

home early from work and I was like I came early for our anniversary is so sweet like and we never

do anything for it it's like we don't do valentines and we met at the end of February and we don't

celebrate that and we're always like oh we'll do something on our anniversary and then we forget

it's like we forget that the day exists every fucking year and so like the day before like oh
spk_0
shit is our anniversary environment plainly thank you guys so we did a bunch of yard work this weekend

in the in the yard and we had to get some gravel so he comes on early on Friday and I'm like he came

over and versus so sweet no he came home to get gravel so he gets he's got a truckload of gravel

when he comes home and I'm like so I got rock for my anniversary I got rocks you know and he was like

actually yeah and he pulls out this fucking jewelry box and he had gotten me earrings and it had

like these little like diamond dust things like all these like silver hoops or whatever I was like

what is happening because I cannot remember the last time he bought me like jewelry and I was like

and it came out I was like so I got rock for my jewelry he's like he sure did and he gave it to

you know it's like you knew I was gonna say that and he was like I did 16 years I knew what you

were gonna say I heard you talk shit for decades now like so much bullshit that I knew exactly what

bullshit you were gonna say and I was like god damn it I was like so I've run my mouth enough that he

could predict my bullshit and honestly like that I kind of feel like that's you know it's

a good marriage maybe but they're and we ended up like having a lot of fun like ended up being

a great day but it was just really funny how it started all that way and that has nothing to do

with while we're here no seriously though it's when is she going she's going this summer to

to college like she's gone yeah this summer I mean we have open house or orientation or whatever I

think in June oh my god yeah she's a bear in a hat well even surely and then paint is gonna be

driving yeah oh my god and you're turning 40 are you doing anything special for your 40th

are you going anywhere we talked about it I'm supposed to go I need to go get my passport pictures

that needs to be updated okay we talked about maybe a robot I don't know I love a robot oh my god

that's where we went from a husband's 40th and let me tell you 10 out of 10 absolute our

you know my friend Carrie she was the one that planned it out for us we stayed at the rids there
spk_0
yeah that's what we were thinking you're staying girl do it because I know it's pricey but they have
spk_0
like that food room that they have where it's like the concierge lounge that you can go in and they
spk_0
serve food all day long and stuff in there we eat there the whole time and we just laid on the beach
spk_0
and then we rented a Jeep one day and driver on the island oh my god that's all I like to do is eat
spk_0
and lay on the beach and it's so good they have the rafts there that you like that are like
spk_0
anchored down and they're like pretty little perfect beach and the waiters will bring you
spk_0
drinks out there and stuff oh my god well I was and then I heard that a river water because I'm
spk_0
I'm from the Midwest I'm a lake girl I like a lake it's like a lake it's like a lake it is like
spk_0
like not like nary a ripple out there clear blue see all the way down it is in those sand is like
spk_0
powder now it is like the other side of the island where the water comes against it like there's
spk_0
waves and stuff there and like but there's beautiful shells oh my god now it's seriously it's one
spk_0
of the most gorgeous places I've ever been when we went it was like the whole time we were there I
spk_0
this was so worth it this is so it was so incredible it's so beautiful so relaxed then we had the
spk_0
best dinners I just always get I always get like I actually heard that there's a thing for this but um
spk_0
I get weird like when I return from vacation I have like it takes me a week to get back
spk_0
in a swing to get back my mood correct but I did hear that some people who suffer from depression
spk_0
or whatever after they come off something like exciting or whatever there can be a little bit of a
spk_0
crash yeah I can see them especially like if you have anxiety about that crash like that's anxiety
spk_0
to leave home you know like I know you like I just like being at home I like being in my routine
spk_0
which I completely understand because in that way you're probably a better able to manage your
spk_0
depression or in your anxiety and all this stuff because you're on a routine so I can see
spk_0
why travel would be so incredibly stressful and it's someone that's traveled with you a lot I get
spk_0
that like I can see how it is very stressful and like in situations where it's like we've had to
spk_0
you know we've arrived and all our shit's not there you know we've gotten hotel rooms and then
spk_0
we've had to switch them you know we've got to try to figure out how to get from point A to point
spk_0
being a place we've never been before in a country we've never been to where we don't speak the language
spk_0
you know yeah I think it's really stressful it's a different routine or whatever that's
spk_0
what I go to my friends in Jersey there's no extra I feel like that's the only time when I go
spk_0
there she's like you fucking sleep when you're here yeah I was like I go there and I just like
spk_0
zone completely out and I know it's not a vacation because you're somebody's house when I'm like
spk_0
I feel my most vacation-ish when I do that well in this because you're safe with her yeah that's why

I mean you're in a space that you know you're comforted you're cared for that someone is looking out
spk_0
for you you don't have to worry about a single thing it's a house you're used to exactly there's no
spk_0
unknown and if there's an unknown that's not your business yeah honestly that's I know that that's

exactly how it is and that's really freeing and wonderful yeah so you know I get that I get

wanting that kind of vacation like I feel that way sometimes when I go home and you probably don't

have that as much because you live next to your family yeah so you don't have that separation but

it's like that for me when I go home it's like when I enter their house my parents house I don't
spk_0
have to think about anything I don't have to make decisions it's not up to me like I'm a kid you know

my mom and I'm like I'm lia and I'm playing the trip and then Luis wigs me I'm Melissa

yeah yeah yeah you know I'm a sister sent me this one the other day and it was literally we had

gone to surprise my brother he had his 15 year anniversary as company that he had started he's

an architect and the business was 15 years old so they were having like an open house where they

were bringing all their clients in a set in my sister text me and she was like oh my god we should

go like surprise him and just show up and I was like well he did design my house so I guess I can
spk_0
do what so we just showed up and it ended up being the super fun surprise but like I showed up and
spk_0
then he was like we're are y'all going back home tonight really no we're staying with you and he's
spk_0
like okay this house that night and I've got bags of groceries because I made him sourdough bread I
spk_0
made him brownies I made him a strawberry cake like you know I made this all this stuff and I'm
spk_0
powdered in there and like you know I brought stuff from my sister and I brought this other
spk_0
stuff and I'm like coming in and my sister's like I got cigarettes y'all we're good

so she sent me this tic-tog where it's like the brother shows up like he's got his kids and then

the the oldest sister shows up and she's got all the bags and she's like I made bread like even in

the video she's saying like I made bread for you and then the like the baby sister shows up

in an Easter bunny costume and it's like I'm here and I was like that was literally us

that's me on holidays I don't participate anywhere I don't do any other cooking I just like roll

at a bed of like what time and I'll get a funny shirt like stop me for selling do you need

the characters or maybe it's because we're in a town yeah we know all the different characters

yeah yeah we're actually gonna feel for them for a while we're just not like one and done you know

yeah I think also think starting off with two sisters we really just established their

personality so then they could really hold to those in each book yeah exactly we don't have to

like figure out a new one you're in your kind of introduce to the in the third book you're

introduced to the hero and the hero one in the second book so you kind of get a little bit of a

feel especially for the hero in the third book you get a several bits of him and book two so that's

kind of nice I really like him he might be very good he's very good in that steady there's

something about his steadiness like he's just very good with handling her and not spooking her but
spk_0
kind of still he's like rallying a cat a skittish yeah he's getting it he's slowly working his way

towards getting her where he wants her not to be the manifula just to keep her safe it's like that
