spk_0 I had to be very honest with this guest right when we started the pod because I on one hand, she was on my wish list legit like right under, you know, Britney Spears, Lena Dunham,

spk_0 Hayley Bieber, whoever else I have on there, good stuff there.

spk_0 Good stuff.

spk_0 She was on it.

spk_0 I called her HB2.

spk_0 In 2020, when the scandal broke, I called her HB2.

spk_0 I went in deep and I went in big.

spk_0 In a very like entertaining way, I was postpartum.

spk_0 I was looking for something to focus on that wasn't COVID.

spk_0 And this gave me kind of life.

spk_0 It was interesting.

spk_0 It was scandalous and was fascinating.

spk_0 And they've always been fascinated by her.

spk_0 And that's why she was on my wish list for those who don't know who HB2 is and are in OGs.

spk_0 I'm of course talking about Hilaria mother fucking Baldwin.

spk_0 Hilaria Baldwin is on the podcast today.

spk_0 She is with the Lebbin a partner, which you know, it was a whole other story.

spk_0 She's obviously married to Alec Baldwin.

spk_0 She obviously had that big scandal surrounding her Spanish accent back in 2020.

spk_0 And you know, the first thing I do here is Delph right into that and you know,

spk_0 give her my honesty, which is like, I was in on that.

spk_0 I was enjoying the ride.

spk_0 And I was fascinated by whatever was going on.

spk_0 Obviously we talk about much more than that.

spk_0 But you know, OGs know this is a big one.

spk_0 This is a big one.

spk_0 So super excited to have you guys here.

spk_0 So we're in LA and this is like such like a last minute, crazy adventure that I decided to

spk_0 drag my family on.

spk_0 And so then, you know, we had to figure out schooling.

spk_0 And so they're home schooling.

spk_0 And it's also my now three year old to cry.

spk_0 Oh my god.

spk_0 It just goes so grown birthday today.

spk_0 So it's like just like a crazy.

spk_0 And then I practice later.

spk_0 So we're like, let's just like all the shuffling together.

spk_0 But that means a lot.

spk_0 What's in is, you know, when you reached out to me on Instagram, I was like,

spk_0 oh my god, I was so excited to do this because, you know, the conversations you have on here

spk_0 are really honest and such like a woman to woman.

spk_0 Really strong conversations that are very needed right now.

spk_0 Well, I'm so happy that it worked out.

spk_0 And like again, honestly, like, this is my wish list.

spk_0 But I want to be honest because I'm an honest girl.

spk_0 So I'm going to be honest with you that I was kind of obsessed with your story in 2020.

spk_0 Not in a mean way.

spk_0 Okay.

spk_0 In a like, I was at home.

spk_0 I just had a baby.

spk_0 It was 2020.

spk_0 When was your baby born in COVID?

spk_0 Like, like, we have a when because I had babies in COVID too.

spk_0 So when was he was August 2020?

spk_0 When was yours?

spk_0 August 2020.

spk_0 So I had one September 8, 2020.

spk_0 I mean, I had had one every single year since the beginning of time.

spk_0 But so you had, well, we August, what?

spk_0 August 5th, 2020.

spk_0 And you had September 8, 2020.

spk_0 So when did everything start?

spk_0 Oh, New Year, like December 2020.

spk_0 December because it was Amy Schumer who posted the thing.

spk_0 And then it's spiraled.

spk_0 And I just owe you that to tell you that I was very interested in this whole story back then.

spk_0 So I wanted to be honest with you about that and tell you that I was.

spk_0 I think everybody was very bored and it was COVID.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 I feel like there's very bored in COVID.

spk_0 I mean, you know, I actually write a lot about it in my book.

spk_0 I don't know if you've had a chance to read my book.

spk_0 And it's, you know, I talk about it in sort of, it's a very sort of long form thing.

spk_0 And, you know, I mean, it's one of those kind of, I look back with much more of a sense of humor than I did at the time.

spk_0 I'm just going to be like, I think before just bored.

spk_0 And there was a lot of, you know, misinformation out there.

spk_0 And yeah, so I mean, I don't quite understand the Amy Schumer aspect of it.

spk_0 I've never met her actually.

spk_0 No, I think it was that she tried to be funny.

spk_0 She wasn't, she wasn't poking fun at you or your accent or the Spanish or anything.

spk_0 She posted, you posted maybe like a...

spk_0 She posted a photo of you.

spk_0 She posted, well, I was working, I mean, I was doing a brand thing.

spk_0 And I was talking about, you know, and also, you know, one of the things that's been really important for me.

spk_0 And I like to think that I was a part of it sort of talking about how, you know, the postpartum body and how it's, you know, I remember,

spk_0 do you remember when Kate Middleton came out after the birth of their first child?

spk_0 And it was right before I think I had Carmen, my first child.

spk_0 And she had a, like, she's wearing a bull dress and she had like a bump still.

spk_0 And I was pregnant and I like, it never occurred to me before because I did zero research when I was pregnant.

spk_0 That I was going to have a bump after I gave birth.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 And like, it was just like, like, and of course, you, of course you do.

spk_0 Like, it was like, again, this is such like an e-lary a moment of this.

spk_0 Like, oh my god, I don't think things through.

spk_0 I'm just like, what this is going to be like.

spk_0 And then I became, as a fitness instructor, I became sort of fascinated with the transformation of the body and how it kind of, you know, the woman's body is just incredible.

spk_0 So, you know, I started posting photos throughout pregnancy with my first, not at all, because I was so, like, young and shy and like, oh my god, what's happened?

spk_0 How old were you when you got pregnant with Carmen?

spk_0 So, my aliquina is 27.

spk_0 I got pregnant late when I was 28, like, towards when I was 29.

spk_0 I had her on at 29.

spk_0 And again, like, I mean, joining this world, you know, that you just touched on a bit when I'm 27 years old.

spk_0 And I just meet Al like, and I met somebody who hasn't always had like the most warm and fuzzy relationship with the tablet medium.

spk_0 And I, I, nothing could have prepared this like yoga teacher who everything is like rainbows and sunshine and not must stand on everybody to breathe in and feel good about themselves.

spk_0 For being swept up into that world now, a lot of good things. I never want to be that person who's like, oh my god, it's hard.

spk_0 No, there's, I mean, there's such wonderful, amazing things. I mean, I get to be here with you.

spk_0 You know, you think yoga teacher or me who's, you know, doing all that you think I would be here with you.

spk_0 No, I mean, this has brought me tremendous amount of privilege to be able to do really fun things dancing with the stars are reality show writing books.

spk_0 I mean, there's been so much wonderful stuff, but there is a negative side of being had as well, you know, being misinterpreted or misconstrued for fun for people for poking fun at you.

spk_0 You know, I remember when we're like younger and you ever go to like get your nails done and when people would read the magazines now people look at their phone board magazines and you look over and it's like, look at these celebs in their cellulite and look at this.

spk_0 Or it was just like the, the, the, the, like women's in humanity to women sometimes get is like such a, such a, such a thing.

spk_0 So, you know, I'm in a place in my life where I just really anytime there's negativity just let's go.

spk_0 How can I make other people feel happy? How can I be happy? How can I live with gratitude every single day?

spk_0 How do you navigate that time, especially now that I'm putting two and two together that you were postpartum? You were postpartum?

spk_0 I think anytime you go through something difficult and I'm very lucky my, I'm a wonderful family.

spk_0 My whole family that I come from lives in Spain and we would, you know, have long talks and it was great because I couldn't sleep and so I would, you know, we're talking to my brother, you know, because it was six hours later there and you would kind of laugh and you'd be like, you're talking to me in Spain, in Spanish about people being offended about your relationship with Spain.

spk_0 Yeah. Just have like a, have a sense of humor and I'm my big brother is just very, very special that way.

spk_0 You know, I think that no matter what and whether what I've learned, whether you're in the Hollywood world or you're not in the Hollywood world, I mean people gossip about everybody in communities.

spk_0 And I think that's the more that you can get connected with yourself, what's actually true, tune out the noise and lean into your community.

spk_0 I mean, I'm so close with my family and, you know, maybe my family looks differently than other people's families, but it's still valid and it's still who we are and, you know, I'm very proud to be raising my children bilingual.

spk_0 My one of the reasons that they're doing homeschool is I send them to an immersion school in New York.

spk_0 And so coming here last minute and trying to find a similar program that would be compatible was difficult. So we were fortunate enough.

spk_0 Are they all in school now? The baby is not in school. Okay, okay, because that's so many people to get to all.

spk_0 Yeah, it's a lot, but you know, I mean, I think, you know, this is, you know, this is, this is the time in my life to kind of just, you know, move on and everybody now can look around and say, am I going to lean into negativity or am I going to lean into just, I'm going to go live my life and be happy.

spk_0 And most of the time what people get sort of worked up about is just.

spk_0 Did you feel like you had to change? Well, now because you're also, I mean, you had the show and now dancing with the stars. Did you feel like you had to like change anything about yourself.

spk_0 So people aren't talking like, I know that you wrote that you did some like a non-ciation classes or something.

spk_0 Yeah, so I have ADHD and dyslexia and that is a big part of how I learn how I process things. I'm somebody that I'll never order the specials in a restaurant because I can't understand what they're saying to me.

spk_0 I can either. Oh, no, what does that mean? I can't understand either. I don't know what that means for me. It means it's processing. I have processing issues. So sometimes people say things to me and I'm like, I have trouble understanding it.

spk_0 And I think what people sometimes will confuse. Yes, of course, you know, I mean, you come to my house and I'm going to turn to Alec and I'm going to speak in English and I'm going to turn to one of my children.

spk_0 And I'm going to speak to him in Spanish and his back and forth. And that's how I was raised to that's the kind of multi-lingual house I grew up in. And there's nothing wrong with that.

spk_0 Actually, like, I mean, hello, this is like a really good thing. My daughter now is learning French as well, you know, so she like the more languages, the better. And for fun, she's on dual lingua and she's teaching herself Russian and Italian.

spk_0 I mean, to speak a language is such a beautiful thing. It should never be a bad thing. And of course, it's going to affect the way that we speak. Of course, of course it is. This is just ABCs about speaking. I have a brain like anyone else that cannot be different.

spk_0 But, you know, I mean, I am somebody that because of I think sometimes my processing issues, I can be a little bit, you know, a little bit different as well. I know it's school was hard for me, but it had to work really hard. It probably had to work harder than the average person.

spk_0 But I did it and you know, writing a book was difficult. Do you speak any other languages?

spk_0 I can speak like words of Russian like a little bit really. Yeah, what about a little line? What they speak in the catalana and speak catalana. I can like understand it a little bit by our own speak catalana.

spk_0 You know, I would just say a broad in Barcelona because I also love Spanish, by the way.

spk_0 Not as long as it's you for sure, but I do love Spanish.

spk_0 I really love Spanish and I studied it throughout my whole like high school, like I did a study abroad.

spk_0 And then I was like, okay, I want to do another study abroad because I did in Sevilla.

spk_0 And then I wanted to do and I picked Barcelona and stupid little me didn't know that no Spanish.

spk_0 And like it sounds like a made up story, but only when I landed there physically for a full semester and I was ready to like Spanish it up.

spk_0 I was like, wait a minute.

spk_0 And it's not the same.

spk_0 No, it's not. I know I was so.

spk_0 My family lives in Mallorca where they speak Mallorcan, which is a version of Catalan.

spk_0 So and my nephew is my brother has let I've lived most of my adult life here.

spk_0 And he's lived most of his adult life in Spain.

spk_0 And so and my nephew is born there and and we also are very focused on him being bilingual as well.

spk_0 So he went. Yeah, he's 20 years old, but he went to an immersion school with English as well.

spk_0 So his English is very good.

spk_0 But yeah, no, he also at the same time he speaks Catalan too.

spk_0 Yeah. And so and my or keen is a fully other language.

spk_0 But you know, like a dialect of of Catalan.

spk_0 So there's like Valenciano. There's a York.

spk_0 There's like a bunch of I'm not an expert at all of the different places.

spk_0 I went to Mallorca from Barcelona. It's like a there is like a very touristy area to that to that place.

spk_0 Yeah, there's there's I mean, it's very it's a very Internet school place.

spk_0 Super Asian national people are from everywhere.

spk_0 And then yes, there's the touristy areas.

spk_0 Right. I think I was probably only in the touristy areas where like which is beautiful.

spk_0 Yeah. I mean every single inch of Mallorca is absolutely beautiful.

spk_0 Is that your home base when you visit that area?

spk_0 Not real. Well, kind of full. First of all, traveling with seven kids is really hard.

spk_0 I don't know. Yeah. So we went to go visit my family in the spring.

spk_0 Alec was doing a movie in Italy.

spk_0 And so I flew over and it was easier. My nephew is in university in Madrid.

spk_0 And so it was easier for us all to meet in Madrid.

spk_0 So my parents flew over from Mallorca because that would be like fly from Italy to Madrid because there was no direct flights and how we were going.

spk_0 And then bring them to Mallorca. It would be like too much.

spk_0 Would like to create a baby baby boss pulling my hair out on the flight.

spk_0 Wait, who, which one do you call baby boss?

spk_0 The baby though she calls it herself by the way, this is not something we invented.

spk_0 She made up so funny on her own. Did she watch the movie?

spk_0 She has she has seen the movie and you know her dad is is the baby.

spk_0 Oh, dad. Some people don't know. Some people are like, oh my god.

spk_0 What is like, but no, that's I think it's so funny.

spk_0 That you call her baby boss because I saw I saw that you do it. She the boss of the family.

spk_0 Yes, because she's scary.

spk_0 So funny Carmen. My oldest was doing something she could they poke at each other.

spk_0 Even though they're big age difference. I mean, they're still there still siblings.

spk_0 And Carmen has taught her something where she like puts her arm out to the baby's mouth.

spk_0 And she says, okay, now nice. And she and then the baby kisses Carmen.

spk_0 And she's like, okay, now mean. And the baby will like pretend to bite her.

spk_0 And so she says there's the one she actually is like mad. She's like trying to train her like I'm like, she's not a dog.

spk_0 But Carmen is at that eight and she's the first. So not only is she a girl, but she's the first girl.

spk_0 And I feel like when there's a household with a first girl, like she's another mommy now.

spk_0 She is another mommy. And I feel like that's both a wonderful thing.

spk_0 And something where as her mom, I have to remind her that she's a kid.

spk_0 And that's a really important thing. And I think for my kids as well that they've had an unconventional upbringing in many ways.

spk_0 Not just, you know, the reality of our life. But, you know, think different experiences that we've had going to school.

spk_0 And, you know, I mean, anybody knows how many of you guys listening right now can relate that like you've had your kids go to school.

spk_0 And they come back and they're like, so and so's mommy said blah blah blah about you kind of thing.

spk_0 You know, it's being able to sort of navigate these things where they feel very protective of our family and very protective of their parents.

spk_0 And they want to take care of us is both a wonderful nurturing thing.

spk_0 And at the same time, it's very important for their mental health that we have to keep it within the context of.

spk_0 We be a child, enjoy play, have fun, lean into joy.

spk_0 So it's, you know, because they because like Carmen completely gets it like if she she's in it, she's in the know she can like hear stuff, read stuff.

spk_0 Well, we're we just started a podcast is we're going to we've recorded some of it already all of this kind of happened at the same time that we're going to do the podcast like that.

spk_0 But all this is dancing with the stars has happened. It's been you know a lot of like sort of struggling and reshuffling things.

spk_0 You know, the way that I parent them is understanding that kids get a lot more than we want them to get right we never want the kids.

spk_0 We don't want our kids to get hurt by the world.

spk_0 You know, we want to protect them and bubble wrap them and at the same time.

spk_0 If I try to pretend that hard things aren't happening around us and that could be within our family within the world, anything.

spk_0 They're going to feel like they can't talk about it with me.

spk_0 And so our podcast that we're doing is called growing up together and it's real it's about understanding that I'm working progress.

spk_0 I'm growing up along. I mean, if I think about the mom I was when I gave birth to her to now 12 years later and all the children and experiences of a had in between I've done a tremendous amount of maturing.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 And so and so I always want her to yes, of course I am the mom.

spk_0 There's times when I have to lay down the law. It's time to go to bed eat your vegetables, do your homework, all that kind of stuff.

spk_0 But ultimately I want her and my other children to feel that they are respected and that they can live their life with how their soul is.

spk_0 And because I want to always be close to them. I don't want them to turn 18 years old and run away.

spk_0 You know, I mean this is a process of you know as much as she's been if you saw her on the reality show she's like I'm all ready.

spk_0 Is she so is she interested in this world like is she going to you think she I mean I feel like most kids who are little they want to be I mean my kids want to be.

spk_0 So you know, you know the instructors and actors.

spk_0 They want to be like their parents because I want to be their parents.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 I mean I again think that what we're what I'm doing with them is embracing the life that they're being raised in you know so which is all that you can do so you would support you would take to auditions.

spk_0 I mean we haven't done auditions and stuff like that but I want them to feel that their voice matters.

spk_0 I want them to be a part of it.

spk_0 When I first gave birth to her,

spk_0 I was super, super protective of her image.

spk_0 I was like, I'd get nervous even with like,

spk_0 in an embarrassing way, like shame on me for doing this.

spk_0 I would be like really scared of people taking pictures

spk_0 who I was very close with of my baby

spk_0 because the world at that point wanted,

spk_0 it was money, her photos were money.

spk_0 And I also like joined this world

spk_0 and I didn't understand anything of like what,

spk_0 like I knew what a paparazzi was,

spk_0 but I didn't understand from a lived experience

spk_0 what that life is.

spk_0 And at that point, you know,

spk_0 people were selling photos of their babies

spk_0 for like either the paparazzi gets the money,

spk_0 or we...

spk_0 You get the money.

spk_0 Well, what we did with hers is we,

spk_0 I did a photo shoot with People Magazine,

spk_0 and then I donated all of that money

spk_0 to a group in Mallorca that worked with children

spk_0 who've been sexually abused.

spk_0 So it was a way of,

spk_0 and I did that with all of the children

spk_0 that we did these kinds of photoshoot with.

spk_0 Oh, really?

spk_0 Yeah, and I did it in their name,

spk_0 and it was a way to turn something

spk_0 that felt kind of gross of like your kids' money,

spk_0 your kids' image is worth money

spk_0 and turn it into something where I could help kids.

spk_0 Because, but there's tremendous stress

spk_0 along with that.

spk_0 Like when Carmen was born,

spk_0 we didn't have...

spk_0 That's true, she was born on a Friday,

spk_0 and I think that the magazine,

spk_0 I could be wrong on...

spk_0 I could be wrong on this timeline,

spk_0 so forgive me because it was a long time ago.

spk_0 I feel like it was like the next week

spk_0 that the magazine came out or a week and a half later,

spk_0 something like that was a Wednesday.

spk_0 Because if you don't do it quick,

spk_0 like they could...

spk_0 Well, they just see it at that point

spk_0 because they were like,

spk_0 and it was so toxic,

spk_0 and of course, like, you know,

spk_0 it gets, you know,

spk_0 my husband all riled up about it,

spk_0 and I was so new to the world

spk_0 and I also just post part of it

spk_0 and I'm getting like chased around,

spk_0 you know, while I'm trying to like fear,

spk_0 I had to be a mom.

spk_0 And so I eventually,

spk_0 what I started doing

spk_0 is just posting the photo on my Instagram

spk_0 How do you feel about posting them

spk_0 and then being in the reality show?

spk_0 Do you still have like any fears with that?

spk_0 The thing is that that was how I originally was

spk_0 a very protective and like hiding them and stuff like that.

spk_0 And then Kelly Riepa told me

spk_0 she's been a really great guide over the years.

spk_0 I love her.

spk_0 She told me, just post them,

spk_0 post it all the time,

spk_0 and the bounty goes down.

spk_0 The challenge.

spk_0 So as soon as that people magazine

spk_0 of thing came out of showing her face for the first time,

spk_0 I mean, it's not that there were no paparazzi,

spk_0 but it wasn't as crazy as it was.

spk_0 Right, right.

spk_0 And so that's one of the things that I started to do.

spk_0 I had to train myself of like,

spk_0 you know, and you see the other people

spk_0 who are in the spotlight,

spk_0 who are very hidden of their kids,

spk_0 they're very protective of them.

spk_0 And that's a bit how Alec was

spk_0 and good for good for that.

spk_0 I understand that as well.

spk_0 What I found, especially living in New York City,

spk_0 where there's no privacy,

spk_0 is it caused more stress.

spk_0 So what I decided to do was lower the bounty

spk_0 of my kids' images and post them,

spk_0 and post them regularly and post them all the time.

spk_0 And then it felt like a little.

spk_0 And then paparazzi, like,

spk_0 they can't sell it for as much.

spk_0 Because all the online magazines are just gonna take

spk_0 from my social media because it's free.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 And so that was a really good piece of advice

spk_0 that was given to me.

spk_0 And it took me a while to get more comfortable with it

spk_0 and not feel like a few will write to me.

spk_0 How dare you pull it like whenever, again,

spk_0 like everybody has opinions about everything.

spk_0 Well, it makes you at least second guess.

spk_0 Like with people's opinions for me,

spk_0 it's like, I'm so naive that if people weren't like,

spk_0 don't do that.

spk_0 I'd probably post a picture of my kid in the bath.

spk_0 Like that was showing anything.

spk_0 But I would be like, he's so cute.

spk_0 But he's in the bath.

spk_0 Like what?

spk_0 Because my mind doesn't go to dark places, you know what I mean?

spk_0 So it's like there's a balance of like letting the people

spk_0 kind of remind you like not everything

spk_0 because there are gross people out there, you know?

spk_0 But I also, like I like to live life more,

spk_0 like not thinking of the negatives that could come of it

spk_0 and more thinking like, but this can bring joy

spk_0 and like it makes me happy to share it.

spk_0 Yeah, no exactly.

spk_0 And you'd be proud of your,

spk_0 look, you're never going to please everyone.

spk_0 When I was teaching yoga all the time,

spk_0 I'd have like 70 people in a class

spk_0 was like the max capacity.

spk_0 70?

spk_0 70, yeah, I just,

spk_0 where is 70 people in a class in New York?

spk_0 In, well, not anymore because the place,

spk_0 I don't think it didn't, I stepped away from before COVID

spk_0 and I think it didn't survive through COVID.

spk_0 But we was like a really fun yoga studio

spk_0 on 12th and University of Cald yoga Vida.

spk_0 And we would have, we some fans,

spk_0 and you'd have, sort of, 70 people.

spk_0 And somebody would say, can you just crack the window a little bit

spk_0 so crack it like an inch?

spk_0 Oh, yeah.

spk_0 A couple and then at certain points

spk_0 I'd put on the fans and another person would be like,

spk_0 I can't sweat if it's like this.

spk_0 And then this person was like,

spk_0 I can't breathe because there's no air.

spk_0 And it was like, you just get to a point where we were like,

spk_0 I gotta teach the class,

spk_0 the way that I'm going to teach the class

spk_0 because 70 people are not going to agree

spk_0 on the air circulation of this class.

spk_0 Wow.

spk_0 And some people are directly happy with it.

spk_0 And you take that 70 people in social media is nothing,

spk_0 it's nothing.

spk_0 You've got millions of people coming at you.

spk_0 And so you have to be in the same way.

spk_0 How do I want to do the proper air circulation of my family?

spk_0 I want to post the photo, post the photo.

spk_0 I want to, you know, go and do this extra.

spk_0 I want to wear this thing, go wear this thing.

spk_0 And I think that it really is just leaning

spk_0 into the communities of other people who are going to be like,

spk_0 yes, go live your life.

spk_0 Have fun, you know?

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 And that's really the trick of navigating.

spk_0 I mean, sometimes I need it.

spk_0 Sometimes I'll read a meme comment.

spk_0 I'm like, oh my god, I'm a little bit of dick.

spk_0 I'm awful lot of us.

spk_0 And, you know, but all I know is I have to call my friends

spk_0 or my family or something like that.

spk_0 And they'll go like, shh, stop it.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Snap out of it, you know?

spk_0 So deciding to do dancing with the stars,

spk_0 did you have moments like that too of like kind of being scared

spk_0 of the public but wanting to go for it or was this a full?

spk_0 I'm not scared of the public anymore.

spk_0 I'm not.

spk_0 I feel, I feel so confident in who I am and how I am and how I parents.

spk_0 No, in my perfect, no, I'm going to get things run.

spk_0 Absolutely.

spk_0 Or they're going to be still happens all the time

spk_0 where people completely like make up a story.

spk_0 And I'm like, I wasn't even there, you know what I mean?

spk_0 It's like, you just, you can't.

spk_0 And at the same time, I'm never going to let that debilitate me ever again.

spk_0 And that's something where when this opportunity came along,

spk_0 and I don't know if you know a little bit about how this opportunity came along.

spk_0 Well, I heard from Julian Huff that you manifested this.

spk_0 Like you made it.

spk_0 So I loved, I loved Julian.

spk_0 And I don't know where she got that from.

spk_0 Because I loved it because I saw that too when I was like, that's not how it happened.

spk_0 But I love that story too.

spk_0 I actually, the love that story, I wish I had, I wish I had manifested so.

spk_0 It was all you.

spk_0

spk_0 It was all, I wish I wish I mean, I don't know.

spk_0 I guess depends on which way you look at it.

spk_0 So I'm new to TikTok.

spk_0 I'm brand new to TikTok.

spk_0 And I'm trying to figure it out.

spk_0 And there's like a lot of dancing and lip syncing and all that kind of.

spk_0 And I started like doing the trends.

spk_0 And some of them are like, somba trends.

spk_0 And I danced a million years ago.

spk_0 And people start writing to me, you should be on dancing with a star.

spk_0 You should be dancing with a star.

spk_0 And because I danced before and I haven't, my connection with ballroom is a little painful

spk_0 because I broke my hip and I didn't ever dance again.

spk_0 So I'm kind of like, I'm always like a fan of the show.

spk_0 I get like excited to kind of see it, but I haven't really focused on who the contestants are.

spk_0 And I realized that they let dancers on the show.

spk_0 So I always thought this thing like, I can't do this show.

spk_0 That's not like the right fit for me.

spk_0 It's people who've never danced before.

spk_0 Because you technically danced before.

spk_0 Because I danced before.

spk_0 And it just felt like this was probably not a place where I belong.

spk_0 And for me, who has tremendous issues of belonging, I was like, I don't want to go into a place where I don't belong.

spk_0 And then so this was like late August.

spk_0 I'm just posting these things and having fun and people writing dancing with the stars.

spk_0 I'm not even like responding to their comments, you know?

spk_0 And then dancing with the stars calls me out of the blue.

spk_0 They called me really?

spk_0 Yes.

spk_0 And I was like, what is this?

spk_0 And at first I was like, you know, I can do that.

spk_0 And a few days later, I was on a plane.

spk_0 Wow.

spk_0 That quick.

spk_0 Crazy.

spk_0 No, crazy.

spk_0 Like stuff that I don't do.

spk_0 Like I do, I am like a, I'm a mom.

spk_0 We have breakfast, lunch, dinner, we're about half to half a seven kids.

spk_0 I have to have structure.

spk_0 I'm a little crazy.

spk_0 I have to go out in my things.

spk_0 But like ultimately my home life is like, I'm here.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 So I got my oldest and my youngest to kind of help out with.

spk_0 Because the other ones were in a day camp, but the oldest and youngest were not.

spk_0 I brought them out to LA and we did the promos.

spk_0 And then we went back and did GMA and then glad my dance partner and I stayed there

spk_0 for like a week and a half.

spk_0 And they were, I mean, dancing with the stars is like the most supportive place on the planet.

spk_0 There's so supportive.

spk_0 That late, just in August, you found out that I like like late, late August.

spk_0 So this was like, and then like a week later or something like that.

spk_0 I'm moving seven people, seven children out here.

spk_0 Wow.

spk_0 House like 12 hours before we moved into it, found homeschool few days later.

spk_0 It was like the most of your days of school.

spk_0 Like it was just this like crazy, crazy last minute thing.

spk_0 So did I manifest it?

spk_0 I mean, I don't know.

spk_0 I think the word was like campaign.

spk_0 And I think it was like, I just, I mean, I wish I had been so like such an advocate for myself.

spk_0 Because I would have loved to do this sooner.

spk_0 So I love that.

spk_0 But no, it really was just I was playing around and the people who manifested it were the fans.

spk_0 When you talk to dancing with the stars, did you say like, wait, I thought I couldn't even go on since I have dance experience?

spk_0 And what did they say?

spk_0 They're like, they're like, look at Charlie Demelia, look at all these people.

spk_0 And by the way, like, there's, I mean, there's so many people on this season who have dance experience and, you know,

spk_0 like, waiting.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 Whitney is an amazing dancer.

spk_0 Like, there's just, there's just such.

spk_0 This is a really, really incredible cast.

spk_0 It really is.

spk_0 I, I told Julianne when she came on and I kept my promise because I was like, I think I'm going to watch this season.

spk_0 I said, I think I'm going to watch this season because like, there's something about this cast that I think is going to be so good.

spk_0 And I watched the first episode as we're recording right now.

spk_0 There's only one episode out.

spk_0 Unfortunately, because I want more, but I loved it.

spk_0 And Hilara, you killed it.

spk_0 Like you did so good.

spk_0 I posted about it too.

spk_0 Whitney was also great.

spk_0 Alex Earl surprised me.

spk_0 I didn't know she was going to be so good.

spk_0 But I was like, oh my god, I'm back in.

spk_0 We're going to do, we're going to do another one tomorrow.

spk_0 But it's just, you know, one of the things that I'm so amazed about this experience is how much the dancing with the stars family.

spk_0 They always talk about it as a family.

spk_0 And it really is.

spk_0 I mean, to go from, hey, you belong to want to do this like last minute crazy adventure.

spk_0 And then to go from that to all of us in there.

spk_0 And everybody is nice here.

spk_0 Like it's like you look around.

spk_0 You're like, how is this possible that they have?

spk_0 It's a huge production.

spk_0 So many nice people.

spk_0 And then the contestants are all so nice.

spk_0 Even though it's a competitive show, everybody is like such.

spk_0 There's such good camaraderie.

spk_0 Really?

spk_0 I think it's yeah, because I think we're just doing such physically hard things and we we practice every single day.

spk_0 For like, is it eight hours at this point?

spk_0 It's like four or five.

spk_0 It turns on the day.

spk_0 And like if you do less on one day, then you're going to do more in another day.

spk_0 But on show day, I last week, I got there seven, like we're, I leave 715 in the morning.

spk_0 And we finished.

spk_0 I mean, I feel like it was like 9 30 PM something like that.

spk_0 It's a long day.

spk_0 And your kids are used to like not saying you.

spk_0 It's for that long.

spk_0 I'm assuming.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 That's usually well, they came.

spk_0 Oh, they came for for the show.

spk_0 They came for the show and they understood.

spk_0 They're so excited.

spk_0 Like they're so my kids are so supportive.

spk_0 And I think one of the other amazing things that dancing with the stars has given to my family and all forever be grateful for this is.

spk_0 This really joyful adventure because not only did I need it and reconnecting with with dance after.

spk_0 And I think I will never dance again to my children being able to see their mom real happy.

spk_0 And are you getting emotional?

spk_0 Yes.

spk_0 I mean, it really is.

spk_0 You know, I mean, it's like I, my kids have had, you know, to watch their parents go through stressful experiences over the past few years.

spk_0 And I to see my kids who so much children want their parents to be happy.

spk_0 And I think that we did a pretty good job throughout everything of finding moments where we could really bring joy.

spk_0 And you know, you go into like I my thing.

spk_0 I mean, I don't know how their mom is out there, but like I would like need like 30 seconds to cry and go into like the furthest bathroom during stressful experiences.

spk_0 Scream for like 30 seconds.

spk_0 I come out.

spk_0 I go out my tears and I'm there.

spk_0 And so to have my kids see me do something that is not only just a fun adventure, whether they get to go somewhere and have a different experience.

spk_0 But also to then have me connect with a part of myself that I just closed the door on because I, you know, I broke my hip all the way through.

spk_0 And I was, you know, in a wheelchair and crutches and you know, trying to teach yoga from crutches and wheelchairs and just like an insane time.

spk_0 And I mean, to this day I sleep with a lacrosse ball in my hip because my legs spasms at night.

spk_0 Scared to injure it again.

spk_0 Sometimes we're doing a lift tomorrow that is actually not my hip feeling my elbows.

spk_0 I mean, also on 41 now.

spk_0 You know what I mean?

spk_0 I mean, but you're like, but with a body of like a freaking 17 year old.

spk_0 I mean, I mean, I've got a lot of miles on my body.

spk_0 I'm still 41, but I've had a lot of kids.

spk_0 And you have a lot of kids.

spk_0 A lot of kids.

spk_0

spk_0 So it's exactly what you're saying. There's a full trend about this like that it says if you're telling your kid to film you, but they're filming themselves and you see their reaction like seeing their parents smile.

spk_0 And how that makes them smile.

spk_0 So it is really special. So I'm happy that you guys get to have this experience.

spk_0 If you go, I saw a little bit of my my kids in the audience, not just when I was there dancing because I was so focused on the dancing, but like afterwards what the cameras picked up.

spk_0 And it was just like, I mean, how beautiful for them to see that. And I think as moms were always so hard on ourselves about like, are we just thinking about ourselves.

spk_0 Are we self centered if we do things that nurture our souls. And what I've learned over that and I used to very much feel like, I know I have to work hard.

spk_0 I have to be everything has to be about them.

spk_0 And I realize if I do that, I'm modeling for them.

spk_0 A life of that for themselves, which doesn't mean that they don't have all of their needs met that I can meet and take care of them in the best way that I can.

spk_0 But at the same time having, you know, as we're saying, having our kids see their parents chase passions, enjoy and smile and laugh is just not only going to make their nervous system happy growing up, but also teaches them that they deserve the same.

spk_0 Totally. I told my husband that one week there was a week where we usually maybe go out like once a week. There was a week where like I had a work event and the next day he was meeting friends and the next day we did a dinner together and my son was starting to like, you know, be like, oh again, and I felt bad, but then I told my husband and this was partly me trying to feel better, but I was like, good.

spk_0 Like he sees that we also have a life and that we want to go out a night and have fun. So I agree with you completely. Yes. How did Alec feel about this because I imagine it's a conversation like we're moving seven kids.

spk_0 They're not starting the school year.

spk_0 You're going to be in the spotlight. Like he doesn't love it.

spk_0 So no, he was you kidding me. He loves the spotlight. He loves the spotlight.

spk_0 Well, you were saying like paparazzi. Well, he has his he has, you know, I mean, Alec has been famous since his early 20s. Yeah, you know, while it can be a lot on his nervous system. It can also like he doesn't know anything different.

spk_0 And so he loves to play. I mean, I think I think the real trick is good attention versus bad attention.

spk_0 You know, of course, like we all every every it's natural. Right. You know, to be like, I want to come and I want to have fun. Let's all be like happy together. Like that's the vibe that he wants that I want.

spk_0 In a world that is knows that negativity can sell more than positivity. Right.

spk_0 That's hard when you just are there to be like, we're just here to entertain you. I mean, I'm dancing with the stars.

spk_0 Let's bring some joy into this world. Let's dance. Let's entertain people. This is not just for ourselves. This is to bring joy to other people. So getting back to your question. See, look at my.

spk_0 You did it. We're back coming back. I'm working on it is he's been wanting me to be on this show for a very long time.

spk_0 Really? You need to do it. Yes. And I said to him, I like there nobody's going to want to have me there. They're not going to belong.

spk_0 And so when this whole crazy universe mystical twisticle like states come together, where like people are manifesting it for me online. And I'm like, okay, I'll do another dance. I'll do another dance. And then the ring dance with the stars. Dance with stars and calling in.

spk_0 And then you know, I get connected with Dina cats and everybody on dancing, but the stars are like the most lovely people on the planet. I like it's just there. He's like, told yourself.

spk_0 But why didn't he try to help? Like, couldn't if he tried to help them like when he wanted to be on it. Well, first of all, I'm a capricorn. And he's not if he ever made a call that would make things like easier on me for something. I would just be like, I would feel like I didn't deserve it.

spk_0 I'm very much like I'm a hard worker. I want to earn things on my own on my own merit. I think especially because I'm, you know, anybody who marries a celebrity is going to be accused of being like, but you just get to like, you know, again, there's wonderful things. But right. It makes you feel like you don't earn things, which is just horrible feeling, especially as a capricorn, horrible feeling.

spk_0 I know and drives out like one of the things that drives out like crazy is I'm so independent. And I was like, you know, I want to open the door for myself. And he's like, let me open it like even simple thing like that. Let me open the door. I can do it by myself.

spk_0 Okay. No, he's very proud. He's very supportive. I like his always extraordinarily supportive of me with working. So he was excited when you got the call.

spk_0 He was literally like, I told you so like I told you to anyone stop every single day. It calls me it's like I told you so. I told you like it. I told you so. But I am happy that I that it happened in the way that it happens, which was just so, you know, it was so, it's thank you. That is the word I've been looking for. So organic. It was so organic. Yes.

spk_0 So thanks to TikTok if anything. I know I know I don't even have that many followers in the grand scheme. I think I'm just talking about and that's the thing with the exact as I'm like, I don't understand this and I kind of feel like a little bit of a loser on it because I like.

spk_0 It's like 200 likes. I'm like, and I post the same thing on Instagram and my my following is much more there. But you know, people say stick with people say stick with it. And I got that.

spk_0 Like I also like would like to the Gen Z things like you totally ate that and stuff like people like that. I'm like, oh my god. I'm like, I'm like, I'm not sub words again. Like I'm going to be like, I'm going to eat something and I'm like, no, not right in that context.

spk_0 Well, you know, like I did see that people are so supportive of you and it made me happy. Like I saw that since you've been posting about dancing with the stars on your Instagram because that's where I am too.

spk_0 Like I feel like people seem to be so supportive of you. So happy that you're like living this dream. So I'm very happy for you about that. And you fucking killed it.

spk_0 And we did talk about this a little bit earlier, which you are right because when I saw some comments saying you dance before. So it's like not fair.

spk_0 Immediately there were the other side of things being like, wait, there was Charlie D'Amillo. There was in day.

spk_0 So apparently that happens every single year.

spk_0 Okay. There's somebody that has.

spk_0 Yeah. So when it started happening again, like my biggest fear was doing this and being people being like, you don't belong here.

spk_0 And then I just want to dance. I mean, every like, it's not like I just wanted to dance at all work art.

spk_0 Yeah. And I'll dance. But like apparently they're doing the same thing to Whitney. And like so she and I will get together and we're like, yeah, I know.

spk_0 And you just think you just ignore it. You just ignore it because again, like you said, when you talk about the positivity, it's like, as it should be, we should be positive about each other.

spk_0 You know, I mean, I'm not the smartest. I'm the smartest. Oh my god. Oh my god. Well, it will come to my brain. Okay. Now you get it. I'm not the smartest.

spk_0 I'm not the prettiest. I'm not the most talented. I'm not the most least that in the next thing. But I'm a kind person.

spk_0 And I know that every single day I live my life with kindness and integrity and trying to make sure that I'm leaving the world a better place.

spk_0 And so I think that being that kind of person throughout the years and I know that any woman who would have married Ale would have gone through her version of what I went through.

spk_0 And what I've gone through and what still happens, you know what I mean. And because he has this very prickly relationship.

spk_0 And I think it's gotten a bit much better. You know, we had I want I want to name the publication this but like way early on in our relationship.

spk_0 We've got a gigantic when he was like really railing against like whoever is the head of whatever news companies.

spk_0 They gave us a gift basket with derogatory things about his daughter is about Ireland and like bumper stickers and everything.

spk_0 I mean like there is so much stuff that happens behind the scenes on like a really like gross exactly. And so that was like the toxicity of this publication that you wouldn't talk to today because they did that.

spk_0 I don't want to have that kind of negativity with anyone in my life now. I don't want to be afraid of people. I don't want to know.

spk_0 I talk to everybody now because I'm not afraid and I'm happy with who I am. And I know doesn't make it okay. But I know that the things that have happened to me was because I was targeted to try to undermine Alec.

spk_0 And and that's something that I have to separate myself. You know, my mom said to me one time she said, is this a problem with Ilaria Thomas for Ilaria Baldwin.

spk_0 It's never a problem before. It's a problem now because it's part of the Baldwin and it's part of the world that I've entered.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 And so I just have to see it with clarity and I have to wish people well because I don't want to have any kind of negativity even with paparazzi now.

spk_0 You're nice to know. I see that you were like more playful with that. I'm not playful. And you know what part of that was that Alec Baldwin taught me how to be a famous person.

spk_0 Like don't sign up for that class. Anyone not one for this is like not the not the class you want to sign up for because I's not also who I am.

spk_0 I'm somebody that I want to have fun with people. Yeah. So this is I'm in my 40s now. And this is about just being like, you know what?

spk_0 I see you. I'm here. I want to embrace you. I'm not going to be negative towards you. You might be negative towards me and every single time I'm going to forgive you because when I don't forgive, it's only poisoning my soul.

spk_0 And I tell you that Ireland speaking of her, I mean, you know this, she wrote a post that was so brick in sweet about you that I reposted like I posted what you wrote and I said everybody like read this is so nice.

spk_0 And when I tell you that I got so many messages telling me like, wow, this made me cry.

spk_0 I know it was like, I mean, so many people were moved by it. Did that take you by surprise that.

spk_0 So how she texted me where she was Ireland and Andre and their daughter Holland visited us this summer in the Hansons and we're like the best time ever in Holland and my baby are the same age more or less like.

spk_0 And one of them is in and yeah, so my baby. So baby, Laura is an aunt to Holland. And there's the funny is like there that's going to be a good story.

spk_0 It's a good story is really cute. So and then like, I don't know about you, but like when you look on my camera role, it's like all my children. Right. And then Holland is there. It's Holland and all my children because those are the only thing that matter. And if there's a photo. So Ireland asked me.

spk_0 Do you have a photo of the two of us from that time like more recent time of just the two of us and I'm looking and I'm like, nope.

spk_0 It's all the babies. Literally all the babies. And then like 20 minutes later, this is a night in New York City time.

spk_0 I started getting messages from people like, do you see what Ireland posted and I was like, no, when I go on and I'm like, oh my god, like.

spk_0 It was such a nice gift because Ireland really knows me and Ireland has really seen me and Ireland has seen how much I care about her dad and her family and her.

spk_0 And we've been so.

spk_0 I'm so blessed to have a wonderful relationship and that's not just being blessed and lucky. It's also, you know, being walking that line of being a stepmom, you know, and coming into her life when she's 15, 16 years old.

spk_0 And I was just always very clear that I'm there to be supportive when she needs me. I'm not there. I told Alec before I met her. I said, if she doesn't like me, I'm not going to stay because I can't hurt a family.

spk_0 And he gets mad. He's got mad at me then he gets mad at me when I say it now. But like I really feel that these family unit is the most important thing.

spk_0 And always be respectful about her mom always understand that it's Alec Ireland and Kim.

spk_0 And I can come in and and be a guest. And if I'm welcomed in wonderful, I'm there. But I have to be strong enough on my own and not come in and, you know, mark my territory and all that kind of stuff. You know what I mean?

spk_0 Like that, that for me is very small. But I was also very lucky that Ireland was extraordinarily welcoming of me at the beginning. So it wasn't on issue, but I was very prepared to have it be, you know, this is we have had a great few months together and I'm going to go.

spk_0 Wow. And then so technically you have eight kids. I technically have eight kids. I know we always, oh my god, it was so funny when she was younger.

spk_0 We went to get the only time that they've ever been to tanning booths. She really wanted to go tanning. And obviously I got her parents permission and was I think right after we got married or it was like for our wedding.

spk_0 How old is Ireland now? So Ireland's 11 years younger than me. So Ireland's about to be 30. Yeah. So we go to this tanning place in the village around the corner from our house. And she's six foot two Ireland's really tall.

spk_0 And I'm literally she's she's she's actually six foot two. And I am like almost five foot three round up. But I'm almost five foot three. So we're like, it's a very funny.

spk_0 And I was like my dark care. And she was blonde at the time. And so we go in and she needs parent permission. And she said, well, this is my mom.

spk_0 And I'm like, I'm sorry. I'm like, I was you know, she would really like make fun of it for a long time in a cute way. And a really cute way. But no, we are very lucky to have a good, a good relationship.

spk_0 And she's our whole family and she's such a good sister. And you know, I mean, I think again, you talk about negativity and why do you think she felt that though? Like it wasn't your birthday, right? It wasn't so what do you think propelled her to post it that day? Did you ask her?

spk_0 I think people in my life, whether it's Ireland, my my parents, my brother, my best friends, my husband, there is a desire to protect me because I protect all of them.

spk_0 And I think that you know, anybody, when you love somebody and you see that people say things, it breaks your heart. And you see how people have going you get misinterpreted, misconstrued. You just want to like shake people and be like, you don't know this person. This is a human being.

spk_0 And so I make, first of all, she's the biggest fan of dancing with the stars. Talk about number one, she's like my dance mom now. She's like, what are you wearing? What's it going to be? What's the nail color with the dead?

spk_0 Oh, yeah.

spk_0 So she's like very excited about this show. If we stay on long enough, we'll she'll come to a show. She's with her in laws right now. But yeah, she's been very excited about the show. But I think her, her whole thing is just, you know, we love each other so much.

spk_0 I think that she wishes people would just plainly see the person that she actually knows.

spk_0 Does she call you for like advice and mom stuff and everything?

spk_0 I call her for advice. Well, that was like the really interesting thing is like, I don't know how you were when you're first was born. But I was like really like didn't know what I was doing.

spk_0 And I knew that I didn't know what I was doing. So I was really insecure. Like I remember I gave Carmen a bath for the first time like after her umbilical cord fell off and I'm like trying to do everything and put some water on her head, like little little bit.

spk_0 And one like drop went like all the way on her nose and into her mouth and she starts coughing.

spk_0 I'm alone in the apartment where like way up high.

spk_0 I take her. I think I've killed my baby. I think she's like dead. Like it's like that was from exactly. You know, because I don't know what I'm doing.

spk_0 I run with this naked baby out to go get an elevator. And I'm like hysterically crying. Like my baby is not okay. My baby is not okay.

spk_0 And then I come out of my panic and I look at it and she was just like looking at me.

spk_0 Like all as well. But like that's the kind of like it's new mom. I was whereas like Ireland was like boom, boom. I got this.

spk_0 Everything is very you know like just she just so confident. Yeah. So like just her instincts are so good where I had to learn to trust myself a little bit.

spk_0 So you know in so many ways I'm like leaning to her. I'm like well what do you think about this? You know especially because we have kids the same age.

spk_0 So I'm I learn from her you know I'd like to think that she learns a bit a little bit from me.

spk_0 And when we talk we'll talk for like you like I look at the time and it's like been like two hours.

spk_0 That's like a long time. Yeah. So you said before like if you stay on the show she'll come out because she's now with her in laws.

spk_0 What's your goal? Are we trying to win the?

spk_0 I love to win. I'd love to win. I really would love to win. You know I mean I'm at the same time I'm such an.

spk_0 I think you'll go teach them like I want everybody to win too.

spk_0 I mean I wish that like the only thing I'd change about this experience is I wish that everybody could stay on the entire time.

spk_0 And then we'd just be given like placements at the end because I like you're like you're you're already kind of morning somebody leaving and that hasn't even happened yet.

spk_0 Tomorrow there's going to be a double elimination or tomorrow.

spk_0 Double already. Well no tomorrow whenever we're talking.

spk_0 So so the second show there's a double elimination. Yes but they didn't eliminate anybody the first week as there's double elimination and you know I don't want to go home.

spk_0 I'm having the best time. I you know if you asked me when I broke my hip 16 years ago if I was ever going to dance again I would just like you know it gutted me.

spk_0 And so now I've gotten a taste of it and I'm like I just can't wait.

spk_0 Wait is the this is a question for someone like me which I'm sure we have other listeners here that maybe haven't watched a show in a few years getting back on track.

spk_0 The elimination is the fan votes. Is it a combined fan vote and judge vote.

spk_0 Yeah it's combined and you know I mean that's the thing as well as like you know I have a big following non tick talk but on is really big.

spk_0 So guys follow me or tick talk to try to make me not be so insecure there really appreciate it.

spk_0 There's a people with a huge following so then you kind of look and you say well you know it is not just about the dancing and that's fair.

spk_0 I mean it's a it's a reality show you want it to be you want to see your people but I feel like historically people that have one have done really well dancing like you're not going to have someone who gets like you know do a good dance.

spk_0 But there's also really good I mean like I thought it didn't Robert Irwin I don't know if you saw his thing like he did a good job.

spk_0 I'm the most adorable person on the phone. I know me too. I really love him tremendous. I mean I love everybody that's what again like it's so painful about this is like of course I don't want to go home but I don't want anyone else to go home either because I like them all.

spk_0 We get to go see each other work every day like it's so much fun.

spk_0 Well tell me about finding out.

spk_0 Was your partner who did you want glad to want to be a little I didn't so I again like I don't think things through so I don't really.

spk_0 I was like you know what's so interesting is that the dancing with the stars.

spk_0 Dina cats is a very intelligent woman she just knows what she's doing and she just is like.

spk_0 Like where I think glad and I very very similar in our personality and so I didn't actually know who he was but I knew Val and I met Val a few times when I was dancing before and but like I didn't really know a lot of pros on it and so there's so many things I'm happy to be dancing with glad number one he is.

spk_0 All about the dancing and the technique so he is so classically trained in both standard and lot and dancing and so I like I'm such a dance and movement nerd that like he'll explain okay use this side of the body and the floor to then propel yourself over here like that's all I want to like no and do.

spk_0 So I really enjoying him that way but he's like you know he like meditates every morning and he's very into like sort of crystals and.

spk_0 You know good energy and stuff like stuff like that like I've enjoyed getting to know him and we're like total buddies I think where we.

spk_0 Struggle little bit as we'll get so hyper focused on the dancing and then we like like four hours of gone by we like oh god we haven't made any tiktoks oh god because that's part of it as well like we're just like bad wait so tell me about the tiktoks because that interest me so much so.

spk_0 What is the expectation from a dancing with the stars couple how many tiktoks are you supposed to turn out a day I don't think that there's necessarily a number but it's definitely like if you have a big following and your.

spk_0 Posts are doing well that helps get the vote so that can help and we're just like again like I hope the viewers.

spk_0 Can see that we're just like I mean I'm like a really busy mom I'm tired I come back I'm so tired and so you have to come up with a concept so yes like no one's helping you like no and again just like such like can we just talk about the dancing and the dancing and he has it I think you here's my tip I think you need to push him.

spk_0 Because he has it in him because he's gone crazy with tiktoks in the past so you need to tell him this is on you I'll do it you have to like push us to do it because he's into it he lips in all day go through his tiktok well I so the one the one with the Whitney Houston I don't know if you saw that one where I'm like holding onto the leg and he's like trying to get out and that was my idea I was really proud of that one that was like one that like one was really cute.

spk_0 No and again like I mean of course like people are going to you know it was always like makes us roll our eyes that people were like well how does Alex feel about this and I'm like right because it's like I'll tell you why him and him and glad would like actually like go and leave me in the dust and go like hanging out the two of them together and be like oh okay like I mean it's also I'll tell you why it's not that surprising I'll tell you why because glad is a play a player like I don't say his contestant from last year on on my show a little while ago Brooks Nader she has a new show.

spk_0 So they were dating and they were a contestant I feel like everyone like my sister just so many those pros are married like everyone's like you know it's like a like it's a family that the glad that I know and I've like gotten to be very protective of him because you get very close with people the

spk_0 glad that I know is a really like honest good person and that's the glad that I know and it's like you know he's I grew up with an older brother you know and so I'm get that like seeing kind of like buddy buddy relationship with people.

spk_0 So I am I am somebody that because I've been misrepresented in the past I get very protective over people so the glad that I know is kind and funny and respectful and he pushes me hard.

spk_0 I mean I hope one of the thing when going again to the dancing like when you watch the cha cha that we did you see from the beginning to the end we're dancing the entire time.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 We're not taking a long time walking on to say he's like we're not wasting any music we're dancing the whole time we're doing the tango same thing you know it's like all of these dances we're doing as a viewer watch our

spk_0 core the choreography that he's doing.

spk_0 Yeah it's hard he's really pushing me to really high level of choreography because number one he loves to dance and he's like okay we can do that together.

spk_0 And then number two he wants to challenge me he's like this this experience about growth.

spk_0 So I want you to use your feet properly and learn how to isolate aside of your body and the spin better and all he says we're here to dance and also you know I mean let lend good men who

spk_0 passed away who is a judge forever every single day he was very close with land and he's so we do this for land land loved the traditional authentic ballroom dancing and so you know before we go on we give like a little shout out up there to

spk_0 to learn with our hearts yes and we just decided that this year like what we can do differently as a couple is down is not I mean a lot of people can know is like focus on the dance things.

spk_0 On that relief fine quality of ballroom dancing I mean there's amazing dancers on this is like I am not better than any of the other people like it's like there's everybody has their their thing but like for him he's just very focused on technique

spk_0 and I think that that's one of the things that we go out there and and we're doing.

spk_0 And I have a personal question because I am such a like germaphob slash get grossed out by people and you guys really sweat all over each other and I need to understand like if you're dancing with someone that isn't your husband is not your kids like I'm personally like all I have

spk_0 like a little shirt is what he's dripping on you do get used to that is it so I'm going to yoga teacher so sweat doesn't gross me out I'm used to sweaty people and I don't even know their name because I would teach like such big classes.

spk_0 I was actually starting a yoga program in in a jail I never talked about it publicly and there's like a COVID thing and it's like a bunch but I would love to go back and do that so like you know I mean I'm somebody that I like to get very I take care of people's bodies is my job so sweat doesn't gross me out it's not it's natural you know it's things that scare me mosquitoes sharks and mice those three things you from mouse ran across the world like goodbye see you later I will never come in here again or mosquito we weren't I wouldn't

spk_0 brought the kids to play ground yesterday after I was done with practice and I saw mosquitoes I was like we're leaving that's it we're leaving we're not bringing bug or that's it so there are things where I will get like a squeamish about that mother people

spk_0 would be like just like deal with it okay I got it that's it okay so after this reality show and you've done your own reality show would you ever do I remember people were campaigning for you actually campaigning for you for housewives

spk_0 what are they people really wanted you you know to be on housewives I don't know I don't that I mean what I've learned is never say never because I when I met Alec I was kind of like dating the same kind of guy over and over again and I was

spk_0 how my girlfriend and I was like oh my god it's like this is not working out and one of my friends is like maybe you don't know what you like

spk_0 like stop looking for the same thing over and over again so I always approach life with a sense of humility I'm not like having all the answers so I'm never going to say never to anything I just think that like I don't think I'm like zesty enough I feel like I'm just like you know I like want to go back

spk_0 I'm not like fun I'm not fun but I'm just not fun in like I'm not gonna throw drinks around like I have to parent like I'm not gonna go on get wasted like the dancing but then you like take an athletic thing I'm like

spk_0 dance with a star no alcohol no this I'm gonna exercise I'm gonna stretch I'm gonna take you to a hot bath like that's the kind of the challenge I do but I do love a housewife moment I am friends with some of the house

spk_0 I love what they do I'm a huge fan so we shall see if they're like we want to have you know a yoga teacher on maybe we'll see but I feel like I mean look I was wrong with being not fitting in with dancing with stars so I'm willing to be wrong in my life
