spk_0 An hour normal. Yeah, for what you couldn't share progress going good, you're you are racing towards the world premiere back home in Minneapolis.

spk_0 Yeah, premier is on Monday, October 20th in Minneapolis. And the film is just about done.

spk_0 We're almost there. I always think of the Ben Burt quote. He might have been quoting George Lucas, but there's it's a special feature on a taxic loans that is named

spk_0 films are not released. They escape talking about all the details that you could still try to get just right.

spk_0 Hi. Welcome. We're here live. We had a lot of fun going live Friday with the Collins show, which I said on air.

spk_0 I was I was kind of ruminated on just we do the monthly call in life. But I was like can we can we just formulate it?

spk_0 Maybe it's a new thing we do here. And I was like, maybe I'll tell Joseph Jennifer like four center now.

spk_0 And then MSNBC changed that. I just drove that idea out of my head. But we a lot of fun on Friday.

spk_0 Oh, yes. Great segue. So a friend of mine on Facebook tagged me in a post and was like,

spk_0 why is this AI, Jennifer Landa? And I just looked at the thumbnail. I'm like, what's he talking about?

spk_0 That's me. It's me. It was me and my death star cosplay.

spk_0 Or so I thought a couple hours later, when I finally got around to looking at it on my desktop,

spk_0 I was like, that's not me. They had somebody, the Sith account on Facebook,

spk_0 which how appropriate that it was at the count. They took my death star cosplay photo of me

spk_0 in San Diego Comic Con 2010, photographed by Bonnie Burton. They ran it through AI

spk_0 replaced my face with someone who was not me. They also gave me a bigger bus line. Sure. Why not?

spk_0 But everything else was pretty much identical. And it was shocking. And I didn't even care.

spk_0 I was like, look, like I don't care if you want to swap me out with someone that you deem more

spk_0 attractive. I don't even care. I was an actor. I was dehumanized for 20 years. I'm over that.

spk_0 But what bothered me is that because I created my cosplay, it removed my contribution,

spk_0 my creativity from the equation. That's the only way I can get credit, right?

spk_0 Is if you see my face, but if you remove my face, then nobody knows who that is.

spk_0 And what's particularly scary, you guys, is I did a crop of the face. And I was trying to reverse

spk_0 Google search it. And it says, this is a photo of Jennifer Landa. And I'm like, that's not me.

spk_0 That's not me. And you can see directly below that AI photo face of me are me in the photos.

spk_0 But here's what's really scary. And somebody message me was like, it's like the net was Sandra

spk_0 Bullock. I was like, yes, I love that movie. I don't want to live it. Think about this, you guys.

spk_0 If I did not have other people at Comic Con taking my photos from different angles,

spk_0 and it was just one photo. And the AI got photo, the AI photo got shared enough.

spk_0 Nobody would know that that was not me because eventually the AI me could take over when you search

spk_0 for me. Isn't that crazy? Yes, yes, yes. Let's listen followers by getting political.

spk_0 It's all tied together, right? The current powers and the support the tech bros who want this

spk_0 to be our reality, who want in these small ways, right? Not this isn't big Hollywood. This is

spk_0 a fan who created something awesome. And your credit is being stripped away. And that's going to

spk_0 happen to all of us in every little way. This isn't just about, oh, no, somebody ripped off Ryan

spk_0 Gosling's face. This is about all of us. And we do need an administration that is willing to

spk_0 regulate it because that's how it's going to stop. As opposed to one that puts in, you know,

spk_0 can't regulate it for 10 years until it's already slipped out of our grip. Yeah, okay.

spk_0 Okay, I agree with you. I'll just live in a sloped nightmare of non-reality.

spk_0 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So I play out Jen with your excellent Instagram real. So I think maybe this

spk_0 needs to be, I won't say it needs to be a Jedi beat, but Jen Landa, journalist needs to kick in

spk_0 here and do a logger. You know, when you're not studying for your future with school and everything.

spk_0 But yeah, it was, yeah, it is crazy. It is scary. And this is beyond just simple uses or how do we

spk_0 adapt to our life going forward? This is intentional. Well, that account is doing that intentionally

spk_0 without any reservations. And you might accidentally take some of this stuff in like I saw one

spk_0 one guy, a new former boss of mine who was always big on crypto and deep fakes. Anyways,

spk_0 just shared a cavalcade of AI slop last night. And it's like, all right, you're stoning your

spk_0 apartment or townwoman doing this. I got it. But I'm like, now it's just, it's just being accepted.

spk_0 It's being swallowed up and and and yeah, sometimes, Jen, you know, when it hits you personally,

spk_0 and nothing, you didn't have these thoughts before. But it's like

spk_0 dangers are felt to a lot of the ways that you're talking about, Joseph, the micro

spk_0 issues of these versus the big ones going on, which are all connected.

spk_0 What would Monmouth say about the death of truth and Jen Landa's face being taken away from her

spk_0 thought that was the most important part? They took it to make the target joke that has been

spk_0 named on Reddit for 14 years. Yeah. Right. So my husband's like, well, obviously, they wanted

spk_0 to create something new. I'm like, but the joke is so old. It's not even funny anymore. He's,

spk_0 I don't know, he was kind of like, it's, yeah, it's really scary. But at the same time, he's like,

spk_0 it's probably some younger person doesn't understand the consequences. And it also takes the way,

spk_0 like if you're going to make a sexual joke about a woman, if you're doing it at me, I know I

spk_0 used to have people who were like, Oh, I'm 10, this terrible. I didn't really care whatever,

spk_0 right? But like if you take a real person out of the equation, then you can make those kind of

spk_0 sexist jokes and not have to worry about a real woman being like, Hey, don't objectify me in

spk_0 that way, right? So that was another thing. Yeah, this is a dissertation, you guys. I'm sorry.

spk_0 Well, it's also the concern of this, this Tilly Norwood thing around the AI actor

spk_0 that, you know, agencies are trying to scoop up and sign like a list of those agencies.

spk_0 Yeah, but that's one of the side effects is, oh, we got this hot young Anjaneu shank

spk_0 going to say no on set. She's not going to resist any of these things we want to put her in.

spk_0 If that keeps playing out, and actually to your husband's point, I understand what he's saying,

spk_0 too. I do think that's sometimes the case where it's a lot of just, hey, I'm scooping,

spk_0 I'm being scooped up in the zeitgeist and the trends and the fashion and the

spk_0 you know, to use AI in this fashion, like, they're not stopping to think about it. So

spk_0 maybe it's up and no one wants to listen to this us old folks.

spk_0 Warning about it. No one wants to, you know, Joseph, you spoke beautifully on the loss of humanity.

spk_0 Can we get that message to those younger folks who are just being swept up in this? I don't know.

spk_0 Yeah, and people keep trying to turn it into a battle of don't embrace the future.

spk_0 AI is a great tool for specific uses. I'm working with on film stuff. Like, there's very specific

spk_0 film tools that are really good at removing background sounds and damaged audio, right? And it

spk_0 doesn't steal anybody from anything as long as it's trained on audio that you have the permission for.

spk_0 There's resources. You've got a question. To me, it's not about a tool resisting the future.

spk_0 It's an entirely on purpose unregulated tool. It's like if cars had absolutely no regulations.

spk_0 And if you felt like it, you could just drive them into people's houses and people are going to go,

spk_0 what do you do? You got to embrace cars. You want to be left in the past, drive them into people's

spk_0 houses. Like, it's entirely unregulated. Yeah. Yeah. Well, Chad, we appreciate you sharing that. And

spk_0 internet now any days like, oh, that's very funny viral sketch you did. You cast on Silent Life.

spk_0 We did that joke 30 years ago. Yeah. Yeah. 30 years ago. We had that sketch. But good on you.

spk_0 Good on you. But then the old man bitterness starts to swing in there.

spk_0 Real quick here. I'm pulling the chat. Our friend, Brian Ward, who makes very funny,

spk_0 authentic and crafted. Star Wars jokes and memes that are very funny because they're coming from

spk_0 a very real place. Says this kind of stuff is why I'm giving up. And some people are saying some

spk_0 nice things in the chat of Brian. I love your stuff, says Serenity Jane. And Brian, just this morning,

spk_0 finished helping me with some poster artwork for the film. So I wanted to shout out Brian Ward's

spk_0 abilities that have helped us here on four center. And Star Wars explained in all sorts of places.

spk_0 Real artists much better. Much better. Indeed. Well, Jenna mentioned that was probably your only

spk_0 Star Wars adventure for this week. But anymore before we dive into news. No, that was it.

spk_0 Do you have any adventures you want to share, Ken? Yeah. No, nothing, nothing giant.

spk_0 Just another week of my soul crumbling and my life around me not being rebuilt as fast or

spk_0 in any way. And going through a lot of Star Wars memorabilia and merch that I think I'm going to have

spk_0 the part ways with the practicalities of moving. So I, you know, I, it takes too much energy to

spk_0 sell these things to go on eBay and try to sell 300 Funko pops and Star Wars books and comic books

spk_0 and everything. So it's a, it's a, it's a weird kind of, do I just have to kind of toss these

spk_0 aside, not in the trash, but donate, I'm looking to donate to a library on books and comics and all

spk_0 that kind of stuff. But, but it is interesting to continue. I mentioned this before in the show,

spk_0 but like you're at a storage shed connected to a memory that seems like yesterday, but it's,

spk_0 it's already 2016 Rogue One PR push memories that are nine years to go and you're just life,

spk_0 you know, start stuff on past yet. But I love that Star Wars has these markers along the way for

spk_0 me. And those memories don't go away. The plastic, the confed, the plastic can go, the plastic can

spk_0 burn, but the memories will remain. And that's been the joy of the last 10 years.

spk_0 That's great. That's great. But anything other than the, than the, than the film star or anything.

spk_0 Well, I just, I wanted to share a quick like Star Wars experience that I had online that was

spk_0 really positive. You know, the, you know, the antenna has lab came out and I haven't had a chance to

spk_0 open mine or look at it. It is a large decorative table in my home right now. But people in action

spk_0 for your groups are sharing all the customizations they're doing to their has lab can'tina. And these

spk_0 are people who have studied the living hell out of things that I don't think even show up in the film,

spk_0 like production photos of like exactly what they, like lighting and design of the interior of the

spk_0 bar is and has written in included floors, we both sharing the floors and there is a guy, I think

spk_0 this shot is in the film. There's a random not designed, not space bucket, just a silver bucket

spk_0 on the steps of the canteen that you can see in the film. And this guy posted, I made my custom

spk_0 silver bucket. Wow. You put in the canteen of steps. And for me, it was just like it was a fun

spk_0 star Wars thing, but also it was like I'm working hard on this on this film and, you know,

spk_0 trying to put in all these little details and who knows if anything will ever happen with it.

spk_0 To see somebody 50 years later going, I recreated the silver bucket. Then some, you know,

spk_0 stage I was like, you need, you need it dress more. I got a bucket. I'll get it from the bathroom.

spk_0 I'll throw it on the steps. The contrast between how little that person cared when they were making

spk_0 this guy's dumb little space movie when they put a bucket on the steps compared to 50 years later,

spk_0 somebody going, I must personally design a bucket to match the one that guy randomly grabbed

spk_0 from the toilet to dress this scene. It was just like, it was just this is a great contrast of,

spk_0 you know, you never know how anything's going to end up and how it might live in the future.

spk_0 That speaks to something to me here and see if I'm off base, you know, with the Mandalorian

spk_0 and Grogu trailer, you got a lot of cool things in this possibility that you know, a monoman or

spk_0 someone of a monoman's ilk is there in the movie and that that elicits cheers joy. It also

spk_0 elicits eye rolls and here we go again with stuff, but this is the core of Star Wars. This is

spk_0 the core of any big thing that you fall in love with in terms of Lord of the Rings,

spk_0 Transformers, anything, you know, like, but Star Wars, look into the background and kind of,

spk_0 you know, diving in or the inside jokes, the wonderful sound guy with the pig short, so I know

spk_0 unless Kabir's passed away or I love cosplay of Governor Tarkin and slippers because it's

spk_0 celebrating not just the characters, but the lore around it, the lore that pulled us in.

spk_0 And what you're talking about Joseph is to me, like, I hope there's a silver bucket in the Mandalorian

spk_0 Grogu and I hope it's the Cantina bucket. You know, like, that's one of these reasons we're here.

spk_0 If the bucket became like the New Willow Hood and there's a running of the Cantina bucket.

spk_0 So there you go. All right, speaking of that, should we get to some Star Wars news?

spk_0 Just catching up one of the little last second updates that I saw before we went live, Natasha

spk_0 Lou Bourdizzo, of course, being run from the live action, the live action,

spk_0 sitting in run from Soka, just kind of seemingly confirmed, according to our friends of Star Wars news

spk_0 that that the series, the principal photography has completed, has come to an end after five months

spk_0 of filming for the eight episodes, forthcoming. So that's just kind of exciting, as I used to say,

spk_0 back then, especially in 2014 range, I just get all giddy knowing that there's new Star Wars out

spk_0 there complete that I haven't seen yet. Joseph, do these words haunt you?

spk_0 Principal photography or where are you at with that?

spk_0 No, the main thing I think of is principal photography because as we have discussed,

spk_0 in recent years, reshoots has become like a, is there a problem? Like, no, it's part of the process.

spk_0 So I look forward to hearing about the reshoots on Soka because they will happen.

spk_0 And really excited for the show. It left off as so many intriguing threads and intriguing

spk_0 characters I'm really excited for. Jen, 20 years of being treated and humanely as an actor.

spk_0 Does this speak of freedom or what?

spk_0 No, I'm sure I'm sure that they are having a great rap party if they haven't already had it.

spk_0 And it just made me think, oh, are we getting it next year? 2026 season two?

spk_0 Okay, all right. Now the fun begins, right Joseph? Where they're going to go in?

spk_0 They're going to add it. They're going to ratio the visual effects. And so I'm really looking forward

spk_0 to the season. I really am. I think it's going to be good. Same thing indeed. So that's a little

spk_0 news update here. But our main story comes from a interview over at the Ring of Verse with Timothy

spk_0 Olafont. And there you go. There's a there's a Venn diagram human being of little fandoms there.

spk_0 You know, justified deadwood. What brings you in that moving the early 2000s with a

spk_0 Lysha Cuthbert. I don't know. There's a lot of ways to enjoy Timothy Olafont scream as well. Yes,

spk_0 and of course, Star Wars. Oh, yeah. Oh, he was in go. Yes, he was.

spk_0 He was. Go. I love to mingle. I love that movie still. Yeah. Really fun. I love that. My

spk_0 old high school buddy, Monumento Ramayson, go to I think Katie Holmes writes on his chest and

spk_0 lipstick. Oh, oh, my gosh. Yes, I remember that team. Yeah. I did Shakespeare with Bono.

spk_0 Before he went on to Star Trek. That's yeah. Oh, you just brought me you just brought me

spk_0 way back to like 1998 and 1998. Amazing. There we go. But Timothy Olafont was on this podcast.

spk_0 The the doing a FaceTime interview. Well, the future we're in it now. And he admitted that he

spk_0 has sent text to John Favreau and Dave Folloni. That's right. The Yinser and Johnny Favre's reminding

spk_0 them that he and his character Cobb Van are still alive. I love this. I actually absolutely

spk_0 love this because that tells me it's a lot of fun bringing this character to life.

spk_0 Taken it from the pages of Chuck Wendyx books into the show, which was celebrated,

spk_0 Manor and Season 2. But Joseph, I want to dive in to a little investigative reporting here.

spk_0 Do you take this as a confirmation that he is not in the Mandalorian and Grogo or is there

spk_0 Shakenery afoot? I get the vibe that he is not. I think I didn't watch the whole interview.

spk_0 But I saw little clips of other things and this feels like a real like I'm having fun. I'm

spk_0 joking real casual. This doesn't feel like a sort of red carpet or anything where somebody's like,

spk_0 are you coming back and he has to kind of come up with a spin? Right. This felt he's a great actor.

spk_0 So who knows? He might have tricked us. But it felt pretty honest compared to like, you know,

spk_0 I always go back to that. You and McGregor interview. I can't remember for his

spk_0 Emmy's Golden Globes, whatever he had just won in award for something else. And people ask him if

spk_0 he's coming back as Obi-Wan Kenobi. And he pretends to have a problem with his gum. And just like

spk_0 or the minty swallowed and just kind of changes like, you know, I'm having a lot of fun.

spk_0 There's spin, but this film not like spin this felt like he's I can see a world where a bunch

spk_0 of the characters are in it and they've been taught the spin to deflect, but it didn't feel like

spk_0 that to me. Yeah, that's maybe the bigger issue we'll talk about here. But Jen, you with your Jedi

spk_0 beat and reporting and investigating reporting is in your plot. It's in your jeans. What's

spk_0 a base on the his body language and just like the interview with the FaceTime and like he's like

spk_0 moving his phone around. It was very relaxed. I love those types of interviews. And I think that he

spk_0 was being very honest and transparent. I think he had fun. He has he pitted me of cool. So other

spk_0 actors might be like, oh my gosh, this is like his desperate way of like trying to get get some work.

spk_0 But I think he genuinely likes the character. He genuinely likes working with this team and on set.

spk_0 And he's like, yeah, hey guys, I'm around. Let's shoot this thing for a week, right?

spk_0 So, but yeah, he's not going to be a man do a Grogu. I was really surprised. I was like, oh,

spk_0 he really is not going to be on that in the movie. You looked. Yeah. There's also just like this kind of

spk_0 actors are humans reality too. I think actors relationship with Disney plus shows that

spk_0 you know, McGregor has talked about of like they live here and instead of flying somewhere far

spk_0 away from their family, they get up at a reasonable time and they drive to a studio and they shoot

spk_0 for a few hours and they come home for dinner. They stop it in and out if they want like

spk_0 that gig of filming on the volume is cushy compared to what a lot of stars do.

spk_0 Yeah, yeah. Absolutely. I think yeah, I'm right with both of you there. I think this the energy

spk_0 about it and just if the excitement he had and kind of say it like, oh, yeah, I've been I've

spk_0 been bothering them. And there's a lot of more a lot more opportunity to bring Kup and back.

spk_0 We'll talk about that. But yeah, I caught it to me. It may be think that, yeah, we're not we're

spk_0 not getting this character in the Mandalorian and Grogu. And that was my follow up is is do we

spk_0 think Kup Vanth will return Jen? And what do we like about his character that makes us really want

spk_0 him to come back? You know, I was I made some notes because I was like really trying to figure out.

spk_0 I'm like, all right. So he's not going to be in the mando and Grogu. I don't think he's going to

spk_0 be in a soka season two. But they left us with such a huge cliffhanger for this character. But

spk_0 it was in the book of Boba Fett, which basically doesn't exist anymore. I'm just like, what okay,

spk_0 we're just we're just leaving it be. I don't think he's going to come back. Could he sure realistically,

spk_0 nah, because when is Dave Lone's movie going to happen? I don't know why I put air quotes.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Wonderful. Because aggressive and I love it. I don't know why you couldn't end up a TV show. Yeah.

spk_0 Yeah, yeah. I mean, you know, and Mike thinks I was looking the big team at movie, which is how

spk_0 a Follonies movie was I want to say sold, but it's definitely inferred that it's, you know,

spk_0 the big events all across Disney TV kind of come like come like that. And that's maybe been stretched

spk_0 a little bit in turn in the reporting. But I think there's a place for him there. But I think

spk_0 going for definitely not a soka season two. The Mandalorian Grogo is the perfect place for it. So

spk_0 there's about 10% of me hoping that he was just kind of having fun with the question. I think that

spk_0 is, you know, an absolute character that could slide on in for a scene, an act of the film and

spk_0 kind of helped help Mandel and Grogo on their way. But I do there's there is a lot to the character.

spk_0 And I think they did a great job adapting it from book to screen because he wasn't a focal point

spk_0 of the aftermath story at all. He was actually in the interludes, but he was intriguing. It was

spk_0 great. That's why I think we all gravitated towards him. And I think it it it seems to

spk_0 sleep into what they did with the Mandalorian. And just all the fun brought that in. I remember

spk_0 in my initial reaction, just if you remember, if he's I didn't fully it wasn't fully on board what

spk_0 he was doing. It was one of the first times I really disagreed with you and I was kind of like,

spk_0 what? Yeah, I thought it was a time a little heavy handed and ham fisted and also as a

spk_0 deadwood fan, I was like, I think I just go watch the deadwood movie. But he stayed the course.

spk_0 He made these great choices as an actor. And I think really found the heart of the character.

spk_0 I really love in a wild wacky Star Wars world with a lot of violence and a lot of aggression that

spk_0 his calm cool demeanor, a virtual toothpick in his mouth connected with me in the end.

spk_0 And I actually, I'm happy that the potential for him to go on exists. I also think it would have

spk_0 been very effective if he was was killed and held on that death was held on to in that moment.

spk_0 But yeah, I don't know just of where we could put him back in and his share.

spk_0 After all, I mean, I think we'll talk more about all the other characters who aren't there of

spk_0 whether or not there's going to be another season of Mando and Grogu after the film is a big

spk_0 question for me. That's true. I really want him to return and I'm hopeful that he will return.

spk_0 I think I'm hopeful that he'll return because I don't feel like John Favreau is done with the

spk_0 character in Dave Filoni or they wouldn't have had the post-credit scene of him surviving.

spk_0 So I don't think they personally feel done with him. And also, I don't think he's not somebody

spk_0 played by like kind of a fun obscure character actor as you illustrated. He's been in lots and lots

spk_0 of different things. We bring lots of different fandoms forward. He's very charming in his interviews.

spk_0 And I think he is on the verge of a Keanu level. People love that actor for his performances, for

spk_0 his all of the Venn diagram of you know him from all these places. And for just like his vibe in

spk_0 I think they might bring him back. And then the thing I really like about his character and why I

spk_0 want him to come back is I think he's had this great thread where we meet him. He feels like he

spk_0 needs that armor, Boba Fett's armor to protect the people. And he realizes it's the right thing to

spk_0 give up that armor, which is a great practical storytelling. But it's also a metaphorical storytelling of

spk_0 you know, being willing to evolve, let go of your armor and try to be the person you want to be.

spk_0 Even if it's harder and scarier to feel like you don't have the armor you need to be the person

spk_0 you were trying to be. And then without that armor, he's still just as much of a badass. But he does

spk_0 get shot in a way that he would not have if he still had the armor. And when we left him, he was

spk_0 being fitted with you know, cybernetic guts to make up for the fact that he didn't have that armor.

spk_0 And like, how is that character going to feel? Is he still, is he going to be resentful?

spk_0 Is he going to be even more committed to? I did the right thing. You stand up no matter what.

spk_0 And you find a way forward like me and my cybernetic guts. Like the character's arc of his

spk_0 relationship of what does it take to be a protector? And what am I willing to do to be a protector?

spk_0 Is a, is a, it's a great story and it's a great evolution of the stereotype of the Western

spk_0 Marshall and and risking politics. And it's great to see a character who is coded as an old school,

spk_0 anything goes Western Marshall, who is truly protecting and defending. That's what the character

spk_0 is doing. And with the Tuskens, he evolved, he progressed, he changed. It's really great to see

spk_0 the stereotype of the no bullshit. I do things my way. But then also somebody points out what I'm

spk_0 doing is wrong. I'm like, Oh, my bad. I'll change. It still sound real cool and tough about it,

spk_0 but I'll change. Yeah, it ties into something I've said on stage before in the standup world of

spk_0 of of masculinity driven by love could change the world. Masculinity driven by toxic,

spk_0 you know, methods and means is literally burning the world down. And I think it kind of comes down

spk_0 to what you're talking about there with this character. Yeah, like poncho Mike just said,

spk_0 Oh, no, Joseph, you're selling me on a cobbant and the cantina bucket spin off.

spk_0 It's become his spatoon. Yeah. He wears the bucket around his injury.

spk_0 Brian Ward is the week a week way bartender coming back. I know he was later given a name.

spk_0 It's free town now, which is also a deadwood crossover right there.

spk_0 W Earl Brown. Yeah, I don't know. You got me sold. But you're absolutely right. I think

spk_0 that and I think that's what Timothy Olofand found me in that character. He's a great performer.

spk_0 And even though I had some initial, you know, we'll do these about some of the choices of a lot of

spk_0 Star Wars streaming acting voices, those things. It's just sometimes it rubs up against me. His did,

spk_0 but I stuck with it. And when you concentrate on what's there and what's being presented in the

spk_0 choices being made, I think you can get more out of it there too.

spk_0 Gas on him. This is before we go to this big question. The second season, the book of Bobo

spk_0 Fett would be a sensible story to return to. We continue to continue or feature Cobb Vance

spk_0 continued story. Yes. I agree with that. But all right, Jen, take your journalistic reporter notes

spk_0 here out. I need you on the beat. No Cobb Vant, no Boba Fett, no Fennec Chan, no Bo Katent. I don't

spk_0 have quotes in front of me. I'm just going on the vibes of remembering the stories over the last

spk_0 year. So unless we're being tricked a bit like we talked about the Mandalorian of Grogo,

spk_0 it's not shaping up to be a big reunion or continuation of the series or of the book of Boba Fett.

spk_0 So Jen, what do you think of that? Do you believe that? Do you hold on hopes for some of these

spk_0 characters to show up here? Where do you go? Why would they not have any of these characters?

spk_0 To me, this has me, this has me the thing that's that's worried about Mandu and Grogo.

spk_0 Because I feel like you have some great solid characters in Fennec Chan and Bo Katent.

spk_0 Cobb Vant, okay, I can see him not appearing. Sure. Would it be fun? Yes. Boba Fett, I don't know.

spk_0 There's a lot going on with Tim and his interviews. I don't think he's coming back.

spk_0 But I loved him. I loved the book of Boba Fett. But I don't think that's happening, right?

spk_0 It's just you look at the faces of powers that be a convention.

spk_0 I don't think anybody's talked to Mingong when about this. And so if you're not going to have them,

spk_0 them on the sidelines? Right? It's got to be big, cinematic. I agree with you. That's why even making

spk_0 this list, I had a little bit of disappointment in my soul because also, you know, I'm at best

spk_0 hasn't shared any set for ever again. They might just all be clamped down, which I really respect.

spk_0 I want to be surprised. I'd love to go to this theater and have it be a little bit of a

spk_0 major league baseball all-star game, which is all the players from all the different teams show up.

spk_0 I would work for me. But it just makes me think, all right, then what is this story about? And if

spk_0 they're not essential to the story, number one, I want to give them a little bit of trust.

spk_0 But two, that definitely is not what my expectations would have been of this movie when it was announced.

spk_0 So I'll follow it. But I'm with you, Jen. I love these characters. That's the point of it.

spk_0 I just want them back, Joseph. I just want them back.

spk_0 I really, really want them back too. And I could be wrong, but I don't think they'll be in the film.

spk_0 I think if they announced a Mandalorian Grogu season four, I would be really upset if the

spk_0 characters didn't show up there. I think for the film, it's it is a fine balance to please

spk_0 the fans, the deep fans like us of these shows versus making it as accessible as possible

spk_0 to people who didn't watch the shows. And we've got some deep cuts. Like,

spk_0 Rod of the Hut is a deep cut. And Zeb is a deep cut from a normal audience perspective, not from us

spk_0 or anybody listening to this live stream. Zebs a major character from our perspective for a normal

spk_0 audience. But Zeb and Roda don't have long histories with Denning Grogu.

spk_0 Fans can cheer for Zeb. And if you're not, they're like, they got that ailing guy to help them out.

spk_0 He's with the New Republic. Got it. We don't need to know Zeb's relationship with Den

spk_0 and Grogu. But all these characters with long and deep ties popping up is valuable to us when we have

spk_0 the backstory, but maybe challenging to a normal audience. And I don't know. I think in general,

spk_0 John Favreau has enough Hollywood weight to be given elbow room. But if executives are weighing in,

spk_0 Marvel got hurt bad in their films that built on Disney plus streaming shows. So if executives

spk_0 have any fingers on the scale, they are trying to say, keep this as new audience friendly as possible.

spk_0 Because that's one of the things they're blaming some of the Marvel movies.

spk_0 Didn't do well. We're really directly building off of Disney plus shows.

spk_0 Whether right or wrong, too, right? It's just the perception and the reality of it there, too.

spk_0 Yeah. Okay. Absolutely. Thank you. And there was something about, look, at the end of Mano 3,

spk_0 you definitely had the vibe that suddenly Mandalorian and Grogu were like, we're going to move to Seattle

spk_0 and become a talk show host on the radio. The whole new cast characters is going to emerge.

spk_0 Jen, I just made a Gen X reference to Frazier and I apologize.

spk_0 Oh, no. I loved Frazier. But it had that vibe, right? It had that vibe.

spk_0 Yes. Yeah. Yeah. You guys are making a good point. I mean, we wanted to be accessible to new

spk_0 audience. But at the same time, part of the fun is being able to point to someone like like Boca-tan

spk_0 and being like, oh, if you really like this character, guess what? You can watch her in the Clone Wars.

spk_0 Guess what? You can watch her in other things. It's creating that depth of fandom, which I feel like

spk_0 that is so quintessential to who being a Star Wars fan is about, right? We're more and more and more.

spk_0 And my gripe with the skeleton crew is like, you introduce these fantastic characters

spk_0 and then we don't ever see them again. Or like, Cavan, great character. Okay. And what's going

spk_0 to happen with him? I feel like we need to have some follow through to continue building. You

spk_0 want to bring people in. But at the same time, I don't want people to be abandoned. You know what I mean?

spk_0 100% when it comes to skeleton crew. It's actually yeah.

spk_0 Absolutely. You know, Judd and Awwood, I keep saying it continues to be one of my favorite

spk_0 characters. And I mean that in the lessons he teaches, not necessarily what his actions are.

spk_0 And the kids are wonderful and everything about it. Like I want to go back to, you know,

spk_0 school ridge mountain resort. So I'm with you on that there. And it can feel frustrating. Yeah.

spk_0 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And there's something too art to say, hey, leave it, leave it be, right?

spk_0 This is why I like I'm one of the folks that is is is Claude Kenoloi didn't come back into

spk_0 and or let's just kind of leave that arc what it is. There's cases where that works. But with these

spk_0 kind of characters, especially Cobb Van, clearly being, you know, eyes about the pop open, you know,

spk_0 which means maybe a decent amount of story told in flashback. And then that gives context to

spk_0 characters because we're following Grogu's journey. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. Joel has an

spk_0 interesting observation here, wondering, ring into the conversation. I've been rewatched in the

spk_0 whole man, the verse of my dad and he's loved it. Doesn't find it his homework and understands

spk_0 everything. I think fans over think how complicated this really is. I think there's some truth

spk_0 that I have to this isn't to counter what Joel is saying, but I have someone in my life who was like

spk_0 rebels was his favorite TV show. He and his son studied it, loved it, watched it many times,

spk_0 and he called me during the soko. It's like, buddy, I'm lost. And I watch rebels five times.

spk_0 Like it might just be individual reaction there. But I do think Joel's right too. If just,

spk_0 you know, sometimes it is keep it simple, stupid. You know, it's just it's fun. It's ours. It's

spk_0 characters we love or you'll learn. Yeah. I think like James Gunn Superman wasn't building off of

spk_0 preexec existing stuff, but that text at the beginning was just like you never seen a Superman film.

spk_0 Not only is it going on, but you did a great jump with that text of setting up the emotional

spk_0 stakes as well. And I think Marvel's Star Wars, whatever, if you're dealing with continuing stories,

spk_0 just trying to get better about the way that they bring the audience in to play with us,

spk_0 who the characters are. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I, Joel says, my dad understands the soko's baby,

spk_0 Otis Fred, and like, and you know what? That's that's kind of it. That's kind of the formula right

spk_0 there. I do know I just not about it though. This Mandalorian Grogo would be the perfect spot to

spk_0 bring Keen O'Loyan. Like you skate. He swam off the island. He wouldn't live his life and now he's

spk_0 running into dead, baby. I don't know. Uh, Chad, any final thoughts here on Cobb Van Timothy

spk_0 Olifant, Deadwood or anything with this movie this week? No, he's just really cool. I mean,

spk_0 wouldn't it be fun to have a whole series with him? I don't know where streaming is going.

spk_0 If somebody mentioned up in the comments, like, I really don't know, besides after a soka,

spk_0 it will be really interesting to see envisions where they take streaming. And if we will get another

spk_0 live action show, I don't know. I think they have to make something. It's not that if they were just like,

spk_0 hey, we're going to mostly do Lego specials and that's going to be the Star Wars on Disney Plus.

spk_0 No shade to those specials. They're fun and good and well written. Everybody seems to like them.

spk_0 But that's way different than the promise of, I mean, they've, for Marvel, they've just scaled

spk_0 back and they're making things that people like and announcing them well ahead of time of like,

spk_0 here's another season of Daredevil is coming. People like that. Right. They need to announce something

spk_0 big to follow up with soka season two. It just picked one thing and do the hell out of it.

spk_0 Right. Anything, maybe that just to find another price hike with the service.

spk_0 Look, we understood we put out too much. So we're going to give you less and charge you two more

spk_0 dollars a month. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Dave McCuy points out and I like the vibe behind it. Look,

spk_0 they have a soka. They have more shadow load of visions. Been off next year. We got the visions.

spk_0 So 2026 is, I think, is full depending on where all these land, which also means to me that

spk_0 things are already either in motion and production, not production, but in pre-production or, you

spk_0 know, going to come out after is already in their in their mind. But that's encouraging to me

spk_0 the chart the other day of the percentage of studio facilities currently being rented or occupied

spk_0 in Los Angeles. It was so low, you couldn't even track the number. It was off the charts in the

spk_0 other way. And I know they shoot in a lot of other spots. It's not just about LA, but that David

spk_0 comment there gives me hope that hey, look, we do have some time to figure this out and something

spk_0 cool and big will follow those shows. But I don't know if that's just. Yeah.

spk_0 Lost cosmic Jedi says the same thing. I said I a soka, Malshada Lord, but know their live action

spk_0 and not so far. Yeah, I should be clear that I'm excited for all those things. And I would

spk_0 be happy to say this is the home of Star Wars animation because that's always some of my favorite

spk_0 Star Wars storytelling. I just feel like animation doesn't end up on the billboards much when

spk_0 they're trying to sell the subscription service. So I think it's the live action series that

spk_0 You've done a ton of things, but this feature film is big for you. You put in all your

spk_0 life into it right now. And I have this thought like I'm kind of getting grumpy a little bit over

spk_0 the Mandalorian and Grogu just now getting stuff up. Not I feel the May is going to squeeze up

spk_0 real fast. And we need constant promotion because not just the algorithm, but we assume as we forget

spk_0 it and I think the general population I think needs to know it will come. But you promoting a film

spk_0 and may be cutting trailers. Do you have more thoughts on trailers and what should be in them and

spk_0 what shouldn't and when they should come out of your head chance to focus on the PR of it all?

spk_0 Yeah, I mean, I have had a chance to focus on the PR in terms of dreaming up the trailer that I

spk_0 want to make, but not time to make it yet. But I've had this opinion before and I haven't even

spk_0 create a desire to create people like I need to see that I want it to be an event. And I think we

spk_0 have gotten into a point of like we'll give us more information and you know, no shade to anybody

spk_0 who wants more information if that's your preference. That's great. But my opinion is I would love

spk_0 it if it became a tradition that like Hitchcock did it. It should become normal for directors.

spk_0 Have John Favreau in his office. Have him tell us what's the heart of the movie? Why did you make it?

spk_0 Why should people come to see it and then bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, bam, fun images, right? I think

spk_0 that I think that film promotion has lost the art of the tease. And I don't mean that as any sort

spk_0 of sexual joke. I think burlesque is an art form. And what burlesque gets is making people lean

spk_0 in and want more with a sense of humor, with a sense of connection. And I want films to get better

spk_0 about making it feel like I got to be on that in that seat on day one. Not because I already know

spk_0 everything that's going to happen. Not because I have a list of what should happen. But because I'm

spk_0 intrigued by the heart of it. And I don't know what's going to happen. And I need to know.

spk_0 That didn't. Yeah. Sorry. I also think we have, I love modern day film trailers and promotion

spk_0 versus maybe some of the past I've made fun. Not what you're talking about. But like the,

spk_0 you know, the speed of trailers is, you know, the MTV generation sped up at a date and it just

spk_0 has gotten better. But I also think that it's become such a formula that I'd like to see a broken

spk_0 someone in chat at think eight, nine, eight, four, and Brady says James Gunn kind of has that

spk_0 other ways to promote. Whether it's online with social media presence or sharing playlists. I

spk_0 don't know if you know, I don't expect Johnny Favz to share. Here's, didn't Grogu's playlist

spk_0 full of 1990s alt rock songs. I'd love it. I probably love the playlist. I don't expect that.

spk_0 What's what you're saying of of hearing from the creators, hearing from the people and just

spk_0 marketing things and a different style and break the rhythm. Even like, you know, I love the visions

spk_0 volume three trailer used to Jen and I talked about it last week. But it has now what I call the

spk_0 Star Wars trailer music, which is epic. And when it hits it hits and it hit and the vision, but that

spk_0 like we all know, but it's, it's every trailer now. I'd like to see it broken a little bit. And

spk_0 what you're talking about Joseph is something that could maybe help break it. Yeah, it's just,

spk_0 they all of the different ways to create curiosity, intensity and engagement have been overused.

spk_0 So they feel like, yeah, well, it's got that boom. For a while, everything had the Hans Zimmer boom.

spk_0 Yes, every trailer had now every like horror movie has like to the point where it's a meme. I saw

spk_0 them blue skies like everybody list to the popular song that's not meant to be scary that you would

spk_0 like to go down to a scary pace for the next horror film. You know, it's a truth that marketing

spk_0 gets, there's a heavier hand of executives than artists. And it worked before. Let's do it again.

spk_0 And we are in a place now where the audience is suffering from that, I think. Yeah, I love that.

spk_0 I love taking some 80s 80s song. Different speed. Yeah.

spk_0 You're all the way. You're all the night. You condense. Oh my god. Leave your friends behind.

spk_0 We can do it all hour. Jen, any thoughts on trailers and which wedding song you like to dance to?

spk_0 I think that the trailers nowadays have to make it seem like it's an event and create an

spk_0 air of FOMO. Like you will feel like you're not missing out if you are not one of the people that

spk_0 experiences it in the movie theater. That's what Paul Thomas Anderson and Leonardo Capriot movie

spk_0 one was one bad after another. My whole feed was like, you need to see this in the movie theater.

spk_0 And I was like, I would love to who's going to get me a babysitter for three hours. Right?

spk_0 It was that word of mouth was like it was bubbling until where it reached the average person.

spk_0 An average movie goger who was like, that you got to go experience that right? Or I think about like

spk_0 wicked. I don't even need to see a trailer of wicked. I know I'm going to go see it because like

spk_0 number one, I something to take my kids to a number two. I know it's going to be an event and I want

spk_0 to go see it. Right? So I think Star Wars has that natural ability where it's it's going to be an event.

spk_0 But then it's like, is it going to trickle out to the more casual fans, the people who are going

spk_0 to be their opening weekend? That's what the trailer can help with. And then I'm sure the hype

spk_0 from all the Instagram and TikTokers who, you know, go to these events and look, baby,

spk_0 that conversation. I know folks that influence, you could consider us influences. I know there's one

spk_0 former movie trivia competitor, not a call, not a friend, but a colleague who I posted some

spk_0 years ago, this is like two years ago. Hey, here's the four center episode on the new trailer.

spk_0 And he's like, why are you promoting this for Disney? And it's just like, well, it's our podcast.

spk_0 It's really do. But okay. So the word influencer is bigger than maybe we want it to be. But what

spk_0 you're talking about, Jen, has, I mean, that it's it's replaced actual critics and journalists

spk_0 and deep thinking podcasts and and I'm not just saying that from grumpy old man perspective.

spk_0 I'm saying that is that that's now become the formula that I wonder if that will break.

spk_0 I don't know if someone who swings lightsaber is going to a red carpet is going to move the needle

spk_0 anymore for some of these things. I'd love to hear more from the creators. It should always change

spk_0 and should always adapt. It's slight bitterness from me of just like, well, now we're off the lists

spk_0 because I don't do, you know, hip TikTok videos sharing my Star Wars collection.

spk_0 All right. Now you don't want me there. Got it. But I wonder if that will break too. If that

spk_0 just becomes noise. Can I just say, can I share something? So my dad, as you guys know, was a

spk_0 news broadcaster. And for many years, he used to be able to go to Disneyland free free.

spk_0 Like we could let him people. It was a big thing. The news media, they would they were free

spk_0 passes big events for the news media until it got to the point where they were like,

spk_0 this kind of feels like we're buying for favorable coverage. So that's why he got rid of they

spk_0 got rid of these silver passes for these journalists or some of these news starcasters because

spk_0 it was like kind of like ethically not right. So now we have influencers, which and I've been

spk_0 fortunate to be to be one of them. You go and they're having you get to interact with the

spk_0 freaking celebrities and the actors and like at these meeting groups and you get to walk the red carpet.

spk_0 Am I going to say something negative about it? Hello. I might like be like, oh, there

spk_0 was I might sandwich my criticism, right? Like this was awesome. This was really awesome.

spk_0 I feel like what's going to happen is people are not going to are not going to trust influencers

spk_0 anymore and it's going to be kind of a similar thing where people there's going to probably be a

spk_0 backlash for that reason that you're talking about Ken. Like it's just, well, and I think it's

spk_0 lit because this is this is to be blunt. What was thrown at us at Collider when we would go to

spk_0 these events. Well, how could you you're not going to criticize it? First of all, a lot of my

spk_0 colleagues did dump bad faith arguments that were quite appalling to me, but but we were

spk_0 what was the job that that's the movie person. It's different than different than you,

spk_0 but you're father, but it's in the same ballpark. I think what people accused us or accused the

spk_0 the outlets of the time of doing, I think it became the fact because the studios were like, well,

spk_0 yeah, let's just lean into that then. Yeah. And and and and you know, like someone once said to me,

spk_0 like without a doubt, if you're a red carpet, you see celebrity, like you see market like like

spk_0 mother trucker, I'm friends with Nathan Hamill. That's just dead. I'm not wowed by that as much

spk_0 as you would think. Like sorry, Joseph's Jennifer, we know all these people. Like I'm not,

spk_0 wow, I'm not wowed by it as much as you. But a 22 year old from Wisconsin, Wisconsin, well,

spk_0 the first time I interviewed him on the phone, yeah. But you know, but you know what I said, like,

spk_0 but a 22 year old from Wisconsin coming out here, Swina lightsaber is like, ah, like it got

spk_0 watered down and what it was does not exist anymore. And it and it came watered down into what

spk_0 it is now. We're now you have a room full of folks and you have some folks, some we know and love

spk_0 doing the good work coming up with the good questions shout out to Alex and Mollie and a lot of

spk_0 others and and goose and all those folks who go there do. But then you also have some just like,

spk_0 Tony, go right, if you could be a Star Wars action figure, well, one will you be like

spk_0 that that can't be the thing that promotes it. That that kid, I think that's got a break. Yeah,

spk_0 I think. Yeah. Yeah, I think for me, just with the whole influencer thing,

spk_0 Jen, your your performances in pleasure was hilarious because it was spot on to a lack of

spk_0 sincerity. I think that's the answer. Yes. From my perspective is an older gentleman. The

spk_0 the revelation of we've seen this arc with everything from YouTube, anything that suddenly opens

spk_0 up of this used to be a career and you had to be a journalist or you had to be a film critic

spk_0 to have access to this. And then like, yeah, like, are Paul Mark Ellis even, right? Like, there were

spk_0 some of the first YouTube critics who are, you know, verified by Rotten Tomatoes and it has this

spk_0 a great era of democratization of now everyday folks have access to these things. But then as those

spk_0 people become more powerful, they're not everyday people. And that happens so fast with influencers

spk_0 of like, Oh, wow, with social media, with TikTok, you can just be like, hi, I'm Dave, I'm 17 and I

spk_0 live in the basement. But now I go to these things and you're like, it's fun because he's sincere.

spk_0 But all those impressions that you just did, Jenner, about a deep lack of sincerity of, I'm an

spk_0 does. And it takes away all of the sincerity. And that's, that's me as the problem.

spk_0 channel. I wish I could and just play the math game that is YouTube, right? Because it's a math

spk_0 game. Yeah. At a friend who was the vice president of one of the biggest online sketch brands

spk_0 in a world, they, they, they, they smosh themselves over the world and he told me one day I was in a

spk_0 meeting and I told someone, yeah, we're the biggest sketch YouTube channel in the world. And then

spk_0 I realized, as I said it, no, we're not. We're just, we're just trying to solve a math problem

spk_0 and quit. And quit to go do things. Like the next day. And, and I'm inspired by that. But it does,

spk_0 it doesn't put money in our pockets, unfortunately, but that's not new. That's not new, right?

spk_0 But it's part of what's the problem. And I don't know. We opened up a vein in conversation,

spk_0 but because it's always on my mind. And I want this movie to do well. Yeah. Molly Damien said,

spk_0 can confirm that some people are getting invited to stuff, have terrible questions.

spk_0 terrible questions. All right. But I just want to shout out Alex and Molly who do a great job at

spk_0 making this fun, but making things sincere. I was thinking about the other day because I,

spk_0 I'm collecting that rise of Kylo Ren comic book, which would have been interested in anyway.

spk_0 But I was packing for one of my trips and I just saw that Alex was interviewing all the

spk_0 comic book writers from his new round of comics. I'll turn it on. And I collected the comics because

spk_0 of Alex interview. And I heard more about the comic from Alex's sincere and knowledgeable questions.

spk_0 They still made jokes. They still laughed. They still had fun. But there was knowledge and there

spk_0 was sincerity. And it sold a comic book. Yeah, to me. Yeah. I only watched Star Wars because Alex

spk_0 France around in France is around in a lay a slut hair, a slayer costume. Sorry. Every I couldn't,

spk_0 I was so I couldn't get it out. Yeah, no, and it's something, you know, we're about to wrap up here.

spk_0 We've got some questions. The audience, but what you're talking about to Joseph, the death of the

spk_0 expert is is a problem from top to bottom. And not calling out names because I think they're all

spk_0 talented in their own way. But I understand it. But but Saturday night live 51 seasons in

spk_0 is hiring people who go viral on TikTok. And then and then they sit down in front of the cameras

spk_0 and they're deer in the headlines because they haven't cut their teeth on stages. Not all of them.

spk_0 A lot of great stand-ups and stuff. But like you see it, you see the push and you see these folks

spk_0 like they haven't done this. And now they're at the top level. And I feel for them. I feel for

spk_0 them because you solved a math problem on TikTok. Does not mean you know how to do sketch comedy

spk_0 at the highest level. And maybe you can learn and I'm not never rooting against artists who get a chance.

spk_0 But you see it. And I saw it for the first time of years, I watched S&L this weekend and I'm like,

spk_0 as I get it, but it's not going to build out what you want to do with this show. They got

spk_0 learned fast. And it's the death of the expert. And experts will look down upon. We see again on

spk_0 the top of the bottom. And the sincerity thing is big. It's big and what you're talking about.

spk_0 Anyways, yeah. So,

spk_0 Joe Davis says you should do a discussion on legacy of Vader. It's crucial reading. Yeah, I

spk_0 misspoke. That's the comic I met the legacy of Vader, which I'm really enjoying. And yeah,

spk_0 love to talk about it more. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. One last thing I'll say is that,

spk_0 you know, Lucasfilm has had invited like podcasters writers on blogs and things like that for years.

spk_0 Celebration. They've had these people come and interview the writers or or whoever, right? And

spk_0 the reason why is because like, we're passionate fans. We care about these things. We want to dive

spk_0 into the minutiae. And I want to listen to someone like Alex and Molly who can dive into the minutiae

spk_0 with me and like break it down and like have fun with it. And that's why I like them. But there are

spk_0 other influencers were clearly. And I mean, you know, it just feels like it is more about like,

spk_0 there's no shade because I shared my collection for many, many years, right? It's just a different,

spk_0 it's just a different beast, right? It's a different type of thing. That skill doesn't always

spk_0 translate to being able to ask thoughtful questions. To these creators. That's all.

spk_0 I know we've mentioned this before and it's a remix for me, but like Disney PR stopped calling

spk_0 them press events and started calling them fan-fluencer events. And this isn't Army Archers,

spk_0 you know, to bring an old reference to a movie journalist on the day. This is an Army Archers

spk_0 Covering Things. This is a turn away from that. And it lacks in serenity. So anyways, all that to say,

spk_0 can't wait for Mandalore and Grimble. All right. Any Todd Royces. Listen to Andy Sanbert talk about

spk_0 how he had to keep trying to recreate the viral in the box video for his own drug and not. Yeah.

spk_0 Yeah. And I used to stand up with Andy back at the day. He'd ground it out on stages to figure out

spk_0 all that stuff. It's different than just going viral. A couple, we got some questions. I do want to

spk_0 touch on quick Star Wars history here. This week in Star Wars history October 11, 1990.

spk_0 The first Star Wars trilogy box set is released. The box set. I remembered it. I know the VHS tapes

spk_0 probably earlier, but Justin, did you remember, did you get this box set? I don't even remember which

spk_0 one it is. Yeah, I was trying to look it up. They're very confusing in the releases because there's

spk_0 anyway, I did not have the box set because there was too expensive. I had the individual videos that I

spk_0 think I had to. I got them in like 91 and I had to kind of like save up for them. Yeah. I

spk_0 remember them because it's how I watched Star Wars at home. And at least mine, I don't think they

spk_0 were widescreen. I think only laser disk was widescreen. I think all the VHS were pan and scan. So I

spk_0 got used to it in pan and scan. And these were the ones that a friend at school found out I had them

spk_0 and wanted to borrow them. And I handed them off in a brown paper bag like it was a drug deal.

spk_0 So nobody found out that we like Star Wars. The world has changed. I just looked them up. I

spk_0 actually have it on the shelf over there. I'm not going to get it. It's for sale if anyone wants it.

spk_0 No, I do have it. I do have it over there. Yeah. It's the CVS VHS box set. Love it. Love it.

spk_0 Jen, when did you first get a box set? Oh, I had this box set. I had another one too, but I think

spk_0 my dad must have gotten it. And I watched those over and over again. I think we still we must

spk_0 still have them. My mom's house has everything. It's like a museum from the 90s. Yeah. Yeah. And you

spk_0 know what recently I was like, oh, I want to get one of those TVs with the VCR attached, you

spk_0 know, like small things. And I was like, wouldn't that be cool? I put in my kitchen. Watch your

spk_0 turn of the Jedi and like so cool. Coffee. Chris for bro XM says I was at sucker that

spk_0 who gleefully bought every VHS trilogy box set. Yeah. Yeah. Other quick note here. I we

spk_0 mentioned this almost any time it pops up. So it's almost a tradition, but it's one of my favorite

spk_0 traditions. October 12, 1982. 11 year old Rusty Miller's The Jedi Masters quiz book is published by

spk_0 Delray. This is a part of Star Wars lore and Joseph over one point you bought me like a pretty

spk_0 damn good copy. Like a great. And I was looking for that today. I was looking for my original copy.

spk_0 And then by coincidence this morning I was cleaning out some stuff to get rid of things. And this

spk_0 literally fell out. And the reason I know it's one of my originals is I have a A team sticker

spk_0 and being a barocco is the book works. This is the 80s kids. Wow. So I don't know if anyone,

spk_0 you know, ever Jen, how many nights did you study Rusty Miller's wonderful book?

spk_0 Rusty is that book I swear to God. I don't think I can't answer any of the questions. I'm so

spk_0 bad at trivia. And I think we played this once, didn't we? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

spk_0 Yeah. Rusty aka Matt Miller. I guess that's real name.

spk_0 Right. Yes. Yes. That's right. We did follow up. We need to maybe do a Jedi beat. I'm

spk_0 really scheduling you a lot of work during time for Jen. I love this. What does ad ad stand for?

spk_0 episode with like three other comedy theater pals. And I did some questions from Rusty Miller's

spk_0 book there in the one that always blew my mind is what nine nicknames does Han Solo give to Princess

spk_0 Laugh over the course of Star Wars and her strikes back. Yeah. I believe it's time.

spk_0 Yeah. That's right. Wow. That's amazing. Wow. Anyways. So anyway, celebrating a Star Wars

spk_0 tradition. Get your Jedi master's quiz book today from an 11 year old kid. The Todd Royces,

spk_0 the world needs 18 Star Wars mashup. We got to get on ad here. Joseph's got to film it,

spk_0 but we got some questions coming on here. We'll leave one for the film there.

spk_0 Josh Webinar. Who do you think is the more dangerous job to sit the apprentice or drummer for

spk_0 spinal tap. It's very clearly for me. A drummer for spinal tap. Oh my gosh. I've never actually seen

spk_0 spinal tap, which as a, yeah, is shocking. I happened. And I just heard the interview with the

spk_0 cast for the spinal tap too. I really want to see it. It's on my head. I just find it really

spk_0 difficult to believe that you were not a straight white comedy kid in the 90s.

spk_0 Do not love spinal tap. I'm not arguing. Yeah. Yeah. No, spinal tap drummers in much

spk_0 worse shape because fate will take them. They are cursed. Where it's just can actually make

spk_0 their own choices, but the spinal tap drummers are just cursed. That's an excellent answer.

spk_0 And I did get to go see a screening of it. Not in full. It's tickets were paid for.

spk_0 We did not influence anything. And it was a lot of fun. It was a lot of fun. The biggest thing,

spk_0 the biggest takeaway was watching like old people in their 70s and 80s get to create

spk_0 to be artistic and be funny. That was to me one of the best things about the film. So check it

spk_0 out. If you want out there, James Homes is curious. Now what actually figure would Tony go really

spk_0 be? He'd be a monomer. That's what it is. He'd be a man. Oh my gosh. Yeah. I just want him to be

spk_0 like some really belligerently average person. I think yeah, he's the guy who sells Tim Carlo

spk_0 his socks. Like I think nothing fancy. Goful says I had the store was VHS bucks from Costco.

spk_0 Back of it is still the price club. You just watched every after school junior high. Oh, there's a

spk_0 double flashback. Yeah. Yeah. Um, final question here. Thank you all for all the super chats here.

spk_0 We hit our super check goal today. But surrender to Jane asked, Joseph, will you be released in the

spk_0 film at any festivals elsewhere? What is the update on that, sir? Yeah. That's the goal. So, um,

spk_0 basically I scheduled the premiere in Minneapolis because I wanted to get the film done. And I

spk_0 wanted it to not I wanted to have an event to be able to celebrate it with the friends and kind of

spk_0 test out doing a sort of a live show and kind of try to make it in event. And then from there,

spk_0 I need to find a sales agent. And I need to look into having it screened at festivals or screened

spk_0 at other places. But it's sort of like, um, the premiere is the the finish line for getting it made.

spk_0 And then I dive into really trying to sell it and make it as widely available as possible.

spk_0 Oh, it's time for the show to end because franny, uh, after about an hour of live streaming comes
