spk_0
We are live on Sports at 590, the fans.
spk_0
Sports at 650 in Vancouver, 960 in Calgary, sports at plus.
spk_0
And you can always find us on Spotify, Apple Podcast, and YouTube after the show.
spk_0
This will be the final hour before we jump to two.
spk_0
Starting tomorrow.
spk_0
So we'll remind everybody this hour of real Kipper and Bourne brought to you by Bet 365.
spk_0
I'm happy we're going to two.
spk_0
Do I want to work double?
spk_0
Not necessarily, but we've been caught a couple times going.
spk_0
We had so much more to talk about.
spk_0
Yeah, and you know what?
spk_0
It's the return of Leafs Hour and Leafs fans have not loved that we haven't given them their hour.
spk_0
Yeah, and I think we've been pretty good boys when it comes to not overleafing the show.
spk_0
But I'm definitely, we need to stretch our legs.
spk_0
We need to have a real Toronto conversation.
spk_0
So did you like drink tea and lemon last night for your voice?
spk_0
Why does it sound better?
spk_0
No, no, not really to be honest with you.
spk_0
I don't sound better than I did yesterday.
spk_0
Really?
spk_0
Not really.
spk_0
Really?
spk_0
I mean, I couldn't get a sense to your feelings.
spk_0
Do you feel better?
spk_0
Yes.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Okay, well, I can just listen.
spk_0
You guys show I can just shut up.
spk_0
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, we don't want that.
spk_0
We don't want that at all.
spk_0
So you think I sound the exact same?
spk_0
Yeah, he's still a little raspy.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Yeah, I sound the same.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Yesterday I was, I sounded like a pretty best boy.
spk_0
Please tell me, I couldn't read.
spk_0
You're not a yell at the TV like you are down at the dome.
spk_0
Are you a TV yell?
spk_0
No.
spk_0
spk_0
Depends, but no, I'm just going to be watching in my basement, probably not.
spk_0
Okay, so just can I just remind you to pace yourself?
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
He's starting at what?
spk_0
And we're starting what 7 p.m. for the coverage on Sportsnet Yankees.
spk_0
Yeah, I mean, it's all nice.
spk_0
8 p.m.
spk_0
First petrol.
spk_0
8 to 8.
spk_0
It's all over everywhere you want to go.
spk_0
In the meantime, Steve Valakette will join us momentarily.
spk_0
He drops in now.
spk_0
What we hope is a regular Tuesday hit.
spk_0
Obviously, at times it'll, it'll go on his schedules throughout the year, but we're lucky
spk_0
to have him back for another season here on the real Kipper and board show.
spk_0
And just so many goalie questions, not even remotely joking about that.
spk_0
Like right now, I can't imagine a day I've had more goalie questions.
spk_0
Here's the first question I'm going to ask you guys before we get to Valley.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Does he dare where his Yankee had on this hit?
spk_0
So would he have worn that before the first game of the series?
spk_0
We didn't see.
spk_0
Yeah, he would have.
spk_0
Thursday.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
No, there's no chance he would.
spk_0
I'm going to open Friday Saturday for the two wins.
spk_0
That would be crazy town.
spk_0
He's an athlete.
spk_0
I think he needs to double down, triple down on Yankee's.
spk_0
Where it backwards.
spk_0
There's something rally cap style up with the.
spk_0
Is that hat just stuck on your head for the rest of this playoffs?
spk_0
One of them is.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
One of my 15.
spk_0
But I went for the white panel.
spk_0
That's brought them so much success.
spk_0
They are doing the white panel.
spk_0
Which to me is the best one by good.
spk_0
I'm assuming they'll probably go blue.
spk_0
The Royal blue ones tonight with the white pants against the pinstripes.
spk_0
Or maybe they go all baby blues at the old school.
spk_0
Look, I'm not sure what they're going to do, but they'll be wearing the white panels.
spk_0
That's for sure.
spk_0
So I want the white panel today.
spk_0
But it's an old school.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
I'm good.
spk_0
I don't know.
spk_0
I always look at you sometimes like you got three heads.
spk_0
What?
spk_0
So news of the day.
spk_0
Couple waiver wire.
spk_0
Particularly the gold tending market, which opens up a pretty good conversation with Valley.
spk_0
Really, really Hussle who once upon a time was a real strong candidate for being an NHL starter.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
You as right now.
spk_0
Not too long ago coming out of St. Louis.
spk_0
Steve Iserman picks him up via free agency.
spk_0
If I'm not mistaken, gives him a pretty good contract only to punt on a fourth down when he got a chance.
spk_0
And he's been scrambling ever since.
spk_0
You know, he played all the four games for Anaheim.
spk_0
Anaheim chose Peter Murazic as the backup over him, just not a glowing review in my estimation.
spk_0
However, who so has shown himself to have some really, he's had great years.
spk_0
Yes.
spk_0
And he technically, I think, is is generally more like Gorgiav is also on waivers today.
spk_0
What's the one thing missing from really talented goalies though to be modified starters?
spk_0
Just consistency.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Right.
spk_0
But it's nice that the ceiling seems to be there.
spk_0
If he's maybe behind a better defensive team than say Detroit or Anaheim was, maybe someone likes him.
spk_0
Do they just Toronto like a more than Caden Primo?
spk_0
Who they just picked up?
spk_0
I'm looking at who so had one really good here.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
The last year with the Blues and then he thought he games 919.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
And then he went to Detroit and his first year in Detroit is 56 games.
spk_0
He had an 896 with a 311 goals against and then he kind of really hasn't got it back on track since then.
spk_0
So he's had one really good season.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Let's welcome him in.
spk_0
It's Tuesday, which means Steve Alicad on the real Kipper and Bourn Show.
spk_0
Analyst for the New York Rangers.
spk_0
Hey, young enough today.
spk_0
See you clear side athletics.
spk_0
It's a better move.
spk_0
I knew you're superstition.
spk_0
I won the bat.
spk_0
You didn't dare where the Yankee hat, but then you went bigger.
spk_0
You went Jersey behind you.
spk_0
I can't go hat head on TV.
spk_0
I've got to get out of here quickly after we get off.
spk_0
Oh, yeah.
spk_0
New York.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
I don't even know if there's going to be enough room on the train.
spk_0
Sammy.
spk_0
I mean, the city's ready to erupt right now.
spk_0
Sammy excited to do what?
spk_0
I erupt with, you know, tears and yelling at their own team.
spk_0
I heard you chirping me the other day.
spk_0
I told him to go boy cheerfully Yankees.
spk_0
What the hell?
spk_0
By the way, by the way, I've lived in the United States for 28 years, 48 years old.
spk_0
I'm allowed to cheer for the Yankees now.
spk_0
Sure.
spk_0
Whatever.
spk_0
I was sleeping night by.
spk_0
Green light.
spk_0
We're good.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Let's get this thing going here.
spk_0
Valley just in terms of.
spk_0
Goaltending market and most recently.
spk_0
Pretty solid citizens, you know, serviceable guys in the national hockey league at the
spk_0
goaltending position in Gorgiav and and who so is there a chance one or two get picked up and.
spk_0
Who's who's out there that could be looking.
spk_0
We just saw Kaden Primo get picked up by the Leafs.
spk_0
Are they still looking by chance?
spk_0
See, that's, that's, this is where I want to start because.
spk_0
Kaden Primo guys, he's always been a top prospect and I've been hearing about him since he was really young.
spk_0
He grew up just outside of New Jersey on the Pennsylvania New Jersey line.
spk_0
So he was somewhere close to the youth hockey kids that I was coaching and everybody was always talking about him.
spk_0
And you know, what went wrong in Montreal with Kaden Primo was that he was on a yo-yo going up from the American league to the NHL.
spk_0
And they never let him just sit and settle.
spk_0
If you look back at all of the best true number ones over the last 20 years, there's a common thread.
spk_0
They played 200 games in the minor leagues or in Europe before coming over here.
spk_0
Like, Henry Glonquist played 236 games in Europe before he ever stepped on Madison Square Garden ice.
spk_0
And that's one example of a list of about 15 including in that list like five Hall of Famers.
spk_0
For whatever reason, since we had a, basically a wave of guys retiring over the last seven or eight years, I think a lot of goalies had to get rushed.
spk_0
Kaden Primo's one of them, but if you look at his year by year stats guys from every level he's played at.
spk_0
He dominated in college and he was pretty much borderline dominating American league, but then brought up to the NHL has an 863 save percentage and then loses a lot of confidence.
spk_0
And I think that just goes hand in hand without the patience of the organization.
spk_0
You lose guys and that's where you look at his overall numbers.
spk_0
He had one issue over the last two years and that was clear sighted shots.
spk_0
It was the shots that he could see and those exposed goalies when they are not quite ready for the NHL.
spk_0
I think that scares teams. I think it's scared Montreal.
spk_0
And to me that's patience and it's also using your posture and your stance to make your save.
spk_0
It can be taught and I think that last year when he hit a high mark of I think it was 927 in the minors followed by a bit of a week postseason.
spk_0
I think that was probably the straw that broke the camel's back from Montreal's end and they gave up with gave up on him.
spk_0
But I was looking at really his numbers today as far as games played and consistency.
spk_0
And that's the other piece right because every team wants a chance to win.
spk_0
Now his games played over the last two years 34 games played over the last two years for the Montreal Canadians.
spk_0
But he has a 47% game percentage.
spk_0
So if you have a 47% game percentage that means you're giving your team a positive performance only 47% of the time.
spk_0
Now the two goalies that you listed on waivers in a moment of goalkeeper.
spk_0
Georgiev is 45% last year positive game percentage and Housso was 39%.
spk_0
So these guys end up on waivers because they're not fitting the consistency piece that all teams want.
spk_0
At the end of the day guys everybody just wants a chance to win the hockey game.
spk_0
And if the goalie isn't giving you that it's really a reason to punt on him early.
spk_0
But to note on this the best goalie the best goalie last year in actually last two years in positives game percentage is Stolars.
spk_0
89% of the time that Stolars has played over the last two years he's had a positive game.
spk_0
Jack Greaves who I brought up last week about hopefully being the breakout guy that I anticipate him being in Columbus.
spk_0
85% of the games that he's started over the last two years have been positive games.
spk_0
And funny to note on this one MaraLine in 83%.
spk_0
He's the third best goalie in positive game percentage.
spk_0
So these things matter.
spk_0
Hildeby if he was your option it's only 33% chance that he's going to have a strong game.
spk_0
So I think you're looking at consistency and then where you can help Caden Primo.
spk_0
He can play for you but you know you got to make sure that he's being able to have confidence on the open shot.
spk_0
Yeah, I mean, he fairly highly touted guys you mentioned in six for three still just 26 years old.
spk_0
There's there's clearly some upside there and probably no reason to punt on him and grab whoso to your point.
spk_0
So interesting to see what the Leafs do there.
spk_0
What are your thoughts on the places that these guys left from?
spk_0
So Gorgiev was in Buffalo where they have Ucapeca, Luke and Alex Lyon, Colton Ellis.
spk_0
Gorgiev was there.
spk_0
You know, why would they give up on Gorgiev there?
spk_0
And also who's so not as good as Merazic?
spk_0
Is that's who they kept in Anaheim?
spk_0
Yeah, I know. You know what?
spk_0
Merazic.
spk_0
You know what?
spk_0
Merazic is a better NHL serviceable goalie today.
spk_0
So not a bad play.
spk_0
Sneaky, but Anaheim had really good goal tending last year.
spk_0
And they're trying to get closer this year.
spk_0
They're trying to replace Gibson with some positive starts.
spk_0
So I can see what they're doing there.
spk_0
Doastall, he's a number one.
spk_0
I think he's a true number one.
spk_0
He's being paid like and I think he's going to be able to take the net.
spk_0
But with the right support.
spk_0
So you don't want to have somebody under him that's maybe too uneasy to get starts.
spk_0
The problem with Gorgiev I think is that he just pisses people off.
spk_0
You know?
spk_0
And in a way that you can't show up your teammates.
spk_0
And there's enough evidence there where when it's not going well,
spk_0
you know, you can't break your stick and show them up.
spk_0
It works when you're a star.
spk_0
You can get away with a little bit.
spk_0
But as soon as your play slides or you drop below 90 and save percentage,
spk_0
you know, you're showing the door.
spk_0
And that's that's a big piece.
spk_0
I think like Sam on our show.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
And only if he gets out of hand a little bit.
spk_0
Yeah, straighten them out.
spk_0
Straighten them out.
spk_0
Gorgiev fought the Angelo, right?
spk_0
That was the thing.
spk_0
Yeah, there was that in New York.
spk_0
Look, I've covered him a long time.
spk_0
A deep will to win.
spk_0
And he believes in himself, you know, almost to a detriment where it's,
spk_0
you know, not based on reality.
spk_0
But to a certain degree,
spk_0
I think that you got to fit the role to when you're a backup, right guys?
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
So, you got to be early.
spk_0
You got to stay late and nobody wants any funny business.
spk_0
So the first thing you can be as a hockey player is a distraction.
spk_0
Valley for Lee fans, you know,
spk_0
another disappointing end last season.
spk_0
But there was a sense with Stolars and Joseph Wall.
spk_0
It wasn't a top.
spk_0
You didn't have to go look for goalies.
spk_0
You just assume that, you know,
spk_0
those two guys would be back with a little bit more experience.
spk_0
That it was, it was a solid feel.
spk_0
And then you had the prospects of, of Hill to be down there.
spk_0
Act me of, act, act, act team off, act team off.
spk_0
And there's a feeling like there's real good depth here.
spk_0
And, you know, Joseph Walls now gone.
spk_0
We saw James Rimer come in.
spk_0
This one kind of left me scratching my head because I don't think anybody thought
spk_0
James Rimer had anything left.
spk_0
But they spent a week, week and a half investing an exhibition game in,
spk_0
which could have gone to anybody else.
spk_0
And, and then now they went to Caden Primo.
spk_0
They could be contemplating picking up who's so.
spk_0
But there's, right now there's just, there's nothing behind Stolars,
spk_0
who last time I checked has never played more than 34 games in the NHL in one season.
spk_0
So how did it go from a ton of depth to, I don't know, a concern or something,
spk_0
deeper?
spk_0
Well, you know, a kepper look in a couple of weeks if, if Walls back,
spk_0
what are we talking about, right?
spk_0
And look, there's not a lot out there.
spk_0
There's just not a lot out there, guys.
spk_0
Look, you look at Primo one more time.
spk_0
And one thing I forgot to add was that he had a bad start last year.
spk_0
He had a really bad October.
spk_0
But the year before, the year before he was right there with Lincoln
spk_0
and as maybe a breakthrough guy because Borney, again, we, we,
spk_0
we talked about this last year before the season began and it looked like,
spk_0
you know, Lincoln was going to be a breakout guy and he was.
spk_0
Now he really helped Vancouver stabilize everything and that.
spk_0
But he was right there with Caden Primo.
spk_0
If you were looking for a goalie at the time that Vancouver signed Lincoln and
spk_0
Caden Primo was on your radar and you probably called Buntryol.
spk_0
They were right there.
spk_0
It was in the 2324 season and adjusted safe percentage.
spk_0
Lanking him was 12th and Caden Primo was 15th.
spk_0
So it's not like they were not in the same neighborhood.
spk_0
To me, Caden Primo just didn't have the right path of development.
spk_0
He was rushed early, lost confidence, lost confidence last season.
spk_0
And now you could, I don't know, you can get him back.
spk_0
But it would have been great to get him back with Wall here.
spk_0
Rehab him up in the minors and then get him in when time comes.
spk_0
But, you know, I guess he wouldn't end up in Toronto if that was the case because
spk_0
you would be all set with Wall and Stirlars anyway.
spk_0
Valley, I don't, you know, we didn't talk with his pre-show.
spk_0
So I don't know if you have anything in these guys.
spk_0
But going into this season, I'm super interested in two goalies in particular on rebuilding teams.
spk_0
Spencer Knight is a guy that the Black Hawks have bet on to lead them.
spk_0
And then San Jose got that Ascarov kid who is really highly touted but seems kind of slow in development.
spk_0
What are your thoughts on those two organizations being like, maybe we have a number one?
spk_0
Okay. Ascarov, he has like big ceiling, but he has, you know, a massive floor.
spk_0
He can really ride highs. And if you've followed him at all, he's a wild card.
spk_0
He's a free spirit.
spk_0
So, you know, it's not always easy to in the environment that he's going to be playing in San Jose.
spk_0
It's hard sometimes to get a read on what comes next with some of these guys because they are playing in a very difficult environment.
spk_0
You know what, back to Primo for one split second.
spk_0
The one thing that happened to him last year too was he was in the fifth worst environment at the time that he played his final start of the season, December 12th.
spk_0
You know, he was playing in a very difficult environment.
spk_0
So, if you don't have everything going for you plus you're playing in the most difficult place to play,
spk_0
we know how much East to West is an influence now in the NHL.
spk_0
There's a lot more screens.
spk_0
Teams are taking fewer point shots without screens.
spk_0
The environment's changed. That's why Save Percentage continues to come down.
spk_0
The shock quality continues to rise.
spk_0
So, you know, for those reasons, I think that it's tough sometimes to get excited about somebody.
spk_0
You're watching and listening to Steve Valakette, analyst for the New York Rangers on MSG, CEO, ClearSight Analytics.
spk_0
All right, rebuilding and goalies.
spk_0
We got to talk about Calgary's Dustin Wolf and coming off a great season, but usually it doesn't amount to a $50 million contract right away.
spk_0
He's got it now.
spk_0
Now, what are the challenges for Dustin now playing with expectations and a $52.5 million contract, you know, over his head?
spk_0
All right. So, he gave up the most goals over his glove last year, and that's sometimes a concern because your second lap around the league gets more challenging.
spk_0
And with that said, this guy is at the highest level of ability and talent.
spk_0
And although he's not big, he finds ways to manage his size and still show up very big because of his speedies to West.
spk_0
One of the predictors that you're looking for in playoffs is to have your backup goalie support the starter with 25 points in the standings.
spk_0
And the other predictor you're looking for is to have your goalies overall to be in a positive frame for expected goals against.
spk_0
Last year, Calgary was second in the NHL with their goalie tandem at a plus 13.5, and they missed the playoffs.
spk_0
That makes me nervous because that number is going to be very tough to get to a second year in a row.
spk_0
And I remember this conversation guys with Dennis Wyman, coincidentally, a Calgary flame at the time.
spk_0
We were driving to a summer camp, and I asked him about his prospects with Calgary next year to make playoffs.
spk_0
And he said, you know, it's going to be tough. We had at least five or six guys that had career years last year.
spk_0
And there's usually a dip in year two.
spk_0
At that time, wasn't really something that I was thinking about. It wasn't really on my radar, but I paid attention to what he said and Calgary missed the playoffs that next season.
spk_0
And it's like the Washington capitals. They have four of their top five leading scorers had career years last year, including their top defenseman and their goalie.
spk_0
What does that do to the Washington capitals? For Calgary and for Dustin Wolf, I'm more concerned with, can you do it again?
spk_0
Because this is a pretty neat little stat because I came up with this this week last week. I was working on playoff markers and what teams can look to and track over the first 10 to 15 games.
spk_0
And we talked about the slot line differential, the differential in East to West and how that can help be a predictor to playoffs or not.
spk_0
Well, this this week I was looking at goalies and their impact to playoffs. All right, 11 of the 16 playoff teams.
spk_0
So nearly 70% of playoff teams last season had positive goal tending value in our model.
spk_0
So it's proof that elite goal tending remains a big part of the predictor of playoff success, at least making the playoffs.
spk_0
And the two teams that were outliers that had great goal tending that didn't make it were the Calgary Flames and the New York Rangers.
spk_0
The New York Rangers were right behind Calgary. They're a plus 11 to 9.
spk_0
The Toronto Maple Leafs were plus 11 5 9. That was fifth best. But it's a predictor because you're looking at, you know, what tandems are going to be able to withstand and what is a long grind of an 82 game season.
spk_0
And I think this is interesting as well Edmonton was fifth worst last year only 14s had a worse goal tending differential and those teams were Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia and San Jose.
spk_0
So there's a massive divide between the teams that make the playoffs, how solid they are net and then what happens after that, which is really outliers in the crap shoot.
spk_0
So it's obviously so important for these teams to get this solid goal tending and I'm looking at a team that's kind of fringy and that's the Montreal Canadians. Now I really like Sam Montenbo and I don't know goal tending.
spk_0
He just kind of reminds me of my buddy Barry Brust who was a fantastic goal tenor growing up with him. So watching.
spk_0
Well, he's got a full bill. That's all.
spk_0
Turk Brodysh.
spk_0
And I like Montenbo. Am I wrong in my assessment that this guy's a legitimate number one?
spk_0
Okay, I have a bit of an issue with Montenbo right now that I can't figure out, but I'll just tell you what I'm working through.
spk_0
Two years ago, he was the best goalie in the NHL. He had the best save percentage on screens.
spk_0
Last year, he had the worst save percentage on screens. How is that possible? Right?
spk_0
Personnel change. That's why you're on the show. You have to tell us.
spk_0
Well, some watching the video and it looks to me like they are doing something different in front of their net.
spk_0
And as they're trying to frontpacks instead of box out, he's he's maybe looking through an extra layer.
spk_0
But it's a guy that has the skill to be able to look over screens. He's big.
spk_0
And he's got very big posture. He's not he's not a big goalie that plays small by any means.
spk_0
But in today's game with net front where it is, you need a goalie that has a top five save percentage with net front chances if you're going to have a long run.
spk_0
And to get to look back to last year with the playoff predictor for the goalies, Montreal wasn't that hot.
spk_0
Where were they? Yeah, they were in the bottom of the bottom third last year, fellas.
spk_0
So they were a minus 10. So based on their goal tending and their slot line differential, the first two markers I looked at this season.
spk_0
I'm going to continue to do this every week because it actually takes quite a bit of time.
spk_0
Doesn't just lend my lap, but it's they're all interested conversations.
spk_0
It's like we're trying to figure out hockey and what matters because the games changing and these trends are changing all the time.
spk_0
I think that screens matter net front matters.
spk_0
And if he doesn't pick his save percentage up, I think that could hurt the Montreal Canadians.
spk_0
Valley, I'm going to switch gears or at least switch positions here and go to center ice in Vancouver and Toronto.
spk_0
No two players.
spk_0
Patterson and Matthews have more pressure to come back and look like the guys that can lead with the salaries that they're commanding right now.
spk_0
So what are the odds that both of them come back and PD ends up with a 90 hundred point season and Matthews can look like he's scoring 50 or 60 goals again.
spk_0
You know what boys? I have a hard time with just looking at the volatility of goal scores because oftentimes we hear that goalies are very streaky.
spk_0
I think scorevers are just as streaky.
spk_0
And I think that we're also trying to figure out that when's the best time to pay a score?
spk_0
Is it after his career year or is his career year maybe inflated by some of the scoring chances that he received or the lock that he received?
spk_0
So Patterson, when he had 102 points, I thought this was very interesting.
spk_0
He had 23 breakaways that year, 23 and he scored eight.
spk_0
So he was a 35% shooter on breakaways. It's a good inflator.
spk_0
But can you explain to me how last season he only had two breakaways?
spk_0
Two. How do you go from 23 to two?
spk_0
And you saw the way that the season went for him last year.
spk_0
And his broken play goals the year that he had 102, it's pretty typical when somebody has a big goal scoring jump to have luck on their side.
spk_0
And again, my broken play would be a shot from the point that goes off of these shin pad just kicks the back door and it's a slam dunk goal.
spk_0
That would be an example of a broken play. Well, he had eight of those during his big season.
spk_0
And typically when you get to double digits, it's always a career year.
spk_0
I'm going to give you a few examples. Sam Reinhardt, he's played in the NHL 10 years.
spk_0
He's never had a 40 goal season, but he had 57 goals.
spk_0
But that year that he had 57, he had 10 broken play goals.
spk_0
Andromandji Apani is another good example. Seven NHL years.
spk_0
He's never had a 20 goal season, but he had a 35 goal season in the 21-22 season, 10 broken play goals.
spk_0
And Austin Matthews, when he had his 69 goals, sent you guys that.
spk_0
He had 13 broken play goals the year that he had 69.
spk_0
And I watched them. Some of them were luck. Like I mean, he threw them from the corner to going off the streets.
spk_0
Like, you know, like, and it goes your way. So I think that front offices have to really watch the goals and how they're going in before you're paying for those goals.
spk_0
Because everybody that I've seen in the last 10 years that have career years out of the norm career years, that's 69.
spk_0
I don't think we ever see for Austin again. And for, for a multitude of reasons.
spk_0
But it's the broken plays that can really over inflate and then maybe you overpay for it.
spk_0
And I do, not maybe you do overpay for it if you're not paying attention.
spk_0
Just to follow up on Matthews.
spk_0
Mariner, do you have anything on like he's going to be able to score without him.
spk_0
But how many?
spk_0
Well, I've got a lot on Matthews. And you know, I sent you guys those reports because I sort of wanted you guys to see that just like,
spk_0
what my process looks like.
spk_0
Like this doesn't land in my lap, right boys?
spk_0
Hard worker.
spk_0
So, no, there's a lot of hard work here. So with Austin Matthews and his 69 goal season, what I see right now is that.
spk_0
And this is interesting because even the very best scores don't just walk into the slot by themselves unimpeded and beat a goalie clean.
spk_0
Right. So Austin Matthews when he has his 69 goals.
spk_0
30 times he walked into the slot, but he only scored four goals when he stayed on one side of the ice or the other.
spk_0
And the reason why this is important, and this is even with chances with time and space.
spk_0
And the reason why this is important is because he is an elite first touch shooter that needs to receive a pass to move the goalie to then have success.
spk_0
Again, he's not going to do it by himself.
spk_0
He's not going to make the goalie move and influence in a way that he's going to open up a side. He's just going to head it every time.
spk_0
So the year that Austin Matthews, well, we went over this last week that he had 20 goals.
spk_0
He had 69 scoring chances that came across the slot.
spk_0
Now, his overall production and passes, passes received when he went from 20 goals across the slot to just seven.
spk_0
That's a 53% decrease in scoring chances.
spk_0
The one timers, this is a big one because one timers from the same side of the ice.
spk_0
It's the soft spot. It's achievable. You can get there and scores can break away from their check and get those opportunities.
spk_0
But his goal output went from 13 to three.
spk_0
69 goals versus his 33 goals last year. That's a 41% drop.
spk_0
So you couple these things up and then I'm looking at the Austin Matthews and Mitch Marner connection.
spk_0
And last year, the total passes received from Austin Matthews from Mitch were down 20% from 111 to 89.
spk_0
And even worse is the high danger chances were down almost 40%.
spk_0
So that's what Marner ended up with a hundred points.
spk_0
I know, but not a big influencer on Matthews.
spk_0
I also think that a lot of that stuff is influenced by Matthews because to me, it's like when coaches say this guy needs to shoot more what they really mean is you need to get in shooting spots more.
spk_0
They don't want you just even pucks from wherever and like Matthews, if he's not getting as many passes from Marner, part of that is not getting a spots.
spk_0
You got to be moving in a way that gets open that gets separation.
spk_0
You never see the Pucks. So if a player is down, it's not just like the pastor didn't get it to him.
spk_0
I think a lot of time is maybe he's not getting to the spots as well.
spk_0
And I think that's where it is, Bernie.
spk_0
And you take the information that is out there and you've going to take you to the player because these guys are working in tandem.
spk_0
And as I went through a lot of different, you know, make believe combinations, knee lenders numbers are actually pretty close as a playmaker to Marner.
spk_0
And you know, it'll be interesting to see if he can elevate enough to maybe help Matthews.
spk_0
So that's another thing to look at.
spk_0
Just goalies that can rebound this year for you off the top of your head at Swaman, such a tough start.
spk_0
The contract last year behind the eight ball from the get go never caught up.
spk_0
Are we going to see an 8.5 million dollar goalie out of the gate here?
spk_0
Did you see his interview the other day where he was referring to himself in the third person?
spk_0
No.
spk_0
Oh no.
spk_0
Is he that guy?
spk_0
Dangerous.
spk_0
This is not the Jeremy Swaman.
spk_0
Jeremy Swaman's going to do this.
spk_0
I'm like, oh boy.
spk_0
The JR thing.
spk_0
That's how JR hockey.
spk_0
JR.
spk_0
Yeah, I don't know.
spk_0
I saw that when I was like, oh, so somebody's going to have to reel a man.
spk_0
I mean, he was so bad last year.
spk_0
It's hard to make a safe assumption to say he's going to be so much better this year.
spk_0
The only goalie that performed worse than Swaman last year was Giorgiiv in our expected goals model.
spk_0
So he's got a long way to go.
spk_0
I don't think Boston's a playoff team again, Kipper.
spk_0
And I don't think that Swaman's going to have a good year if I'm going to put money on it.
spk_0
That would be my bet.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
Kicks off.
spk_0
Kicks off.
spk_0
All tonight, triple header.
spk_0
Your ranger is going to make the playoffs.
spk_0
Team you cover.
spk_0
How good this just jerk enough to be this year.
spk_0
Well, that's that's a little bit of nerve wracking business right there.
spk_0
You know, the fun.
spk_0
You know, it's like everyone's asking me am I excited for the season?
spk_0
I'm curious.
spk_0
Covering the Leafs.
spk_0
That's an interesting word.
spk_0
You know, so I will leave it there before I get myself in trouble.
spk_0
But let's not forget we've got grilled the panel.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
We'll do it quick.
spk_0
I know you guys are probably out of time.
spk_0
That's okay.
spk_0
Go ahead.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
We forgot about this.
spk_0
So the standings from last week, Kipper, three, Sammy, one, Borne, you lost the baseball game.
spk_0
So you got a zero there.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
Quickly for the baseball game tonight.
spk_0
Yanks or Toronto?
spk_0
I.
spk_0
Come on here and say, you know what?
spk_0
I think the Yankees are going to make it interesting.
spk_0
I don't.
spk_0
I see a tough environment tonight for the Jays.
spk_0
I see a tough environment tonight for the Yankees when they start booing them after they've booed the ball.
spk_0
I'm saying change.
spk_0
Sammy's taking the sweep.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
I think I'm going to go with Kipper here.
spk_0
I just feel like it's going to be tough to sweep a good team.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
I'm with you guys.
spk_0
Yanks all the way.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
Last season, which NHL players set up his teammates since we're talking about passing and playmaking a lot today?
spk_0
For the most scoring chances, meaning he was the primary passer leading directly to those chances.
spk_0
I'm going to give you four options.
spk_0
Conor McDavid, Nathan McKinnon, Nikita Kutrav, Mitch Marner.
spk_0
Ah, a coach for me.
spk_0
I'll go Marner.
spk_0
So I'll take McDavid.
spk_0
It was Nathan McKinnon.
spk_0
Oh, really?
spk_0
He was out.
spk_0
Nathan McKinnon.
spk_0
That's great.
spk_0
Interesting name here, though, too.
spk_0
Lane Hudson was top among all defensemen.
spk_0
Wow.
spk_0
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
That's a good job.
spk_0
And they didn't want to pay him, huh?
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
No, they'll get there, I think.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Third question.
spk_0
Now, the best player at delivering high danger scoring chances to his teammate off the pass.
spk_0
So the best playmaker at giving the high dangers to his teammate.
spk_0
We've got Conor McDavid, Nathan McKinnon, Nikita Kutrav, Mitch Marner, or David Pastronach.
spk_0
Same guys.
spk_0
The fact that he has passed in there feels a little suspicious.
spk_0
I'm going to go Conor.
spk_0
I'm going to double down with McDavid, yeah.
spk_0
Yeah, I'll double down with Marner.
spk_0
Okay, McDavid.
spk_0
And it's actually by a pretty long margin.
spk_0
125.
spk_0
The now closest was McKinnon with 112.
spk_0
Like 125.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
You're right back in.
spk_0
70.
spk_0
You know what I'm going to say?
spk_0
David had 71 east to west passes to his teammates for slam dunk.
spk_0
Wow.
spk_0
The dry side.
spk_0
I don't see.
spk_0
Eat.
spk_0
Dally on.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
So all right, fellas.
spk_0
Good work, Valley.
spk_0
Thanks, Valley.
spk_0
You're the best.
spk_0
Okay, Valley.
spk_0
Great job.
spk_0
As always.
spk_0
Looking forward to you next week.
spk_0
Enjoy the start of the season.
spk_0
Pal, thanks for doing this.
spk_0
Thank you.
spk_0
Let's go.
spk_0
How are you, Valley?
spk_0
Hey, be.
spk_0
Game time.
spk_0
Game time.
spk_0
Game time.
spk_0
Game time.
spk_0
spk_0
We return it.
spk_0
Also.
spk_0
Lot of finds.
spk_0
In Florida.
spk_0
Lot of finds.
spk_0
Lot of finds.
spk_0
Tampa.
spk_0
Not Florida.
spk_0
The state of Florida.
spk_0
Yeah, that's in Florida.
spk_0
Not the beloved pants.
spk_0
Tampa Bay.
spk_0
Florida Panthers.
spk_0
We'll tell you who has to pay what and who's missing the start of the season.
spk_0
All when we return to real Kipper and born.
spk_0
Hey, it's Matt Marquesy.
spk_0
And I'm Mike Fuda.
spk_0
We're discussing the top stories of the day across the NHL and the hockey world.
spk_0
Weekdays at noon.
spk_0
It's the fan hockey show on SportsNet 590 to fan and wherever you get your podcasts.
spk_0

spk_0
A reminder of this hour of real Kipper and born brought to you by bet 3 6 5.
spk_0
Three games on tap tonight.
spk_0
The first three games, the national hockey league season.
spk_0
5 p.m. Eastern Florida and Chicago 8 p.m.
spk_0
Eastern Rangers penguins followed up at 10 30 Eastern.
spk_0
Abs versus the Kings.
spk_0
Awesome.
spk_0
First day.
spk_0
Let me ask you a question and we have your game time.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Okay.
spk_0
Go ahead.
spk_0
You can ask and then we just talked about it.
spk_0
I get a game.
spk_0
It's not working.
spk_0
You're the producer.
spk_0
What am I?
spk_0
I'm not saying.
spk_0
We thought it was like, well, we come back.
spk_0
We're definitely going up.
spk_0
It's game time presented by bet 3 6 5.
spk_0
Visit the app play this dog to find out why it's never ordinary at bet 3 6 5.
spk_0
It's been 19 plus.
spk_0
Here only.
spk_0
Please pay responsibly.
spk_0
Thought I'd bring up some NHL futures since it's getting underway tonight.
spk_0
The favorite for the heart memorial trophy.
spk_0
This is a big time surprise.
spk_0
The top three favorites.
spk_0
We're really surprised by these.
spk_0
David McKinnon and.
spk_0
McCarr.
spk_0
Nikita Kutrov.
spk_0
So it's MacDavid.
spk_0
Two to one.
spk_0
McKinnon is plus 475.
spk_0
Kutrov plus 850.
spk_0
Caprizov, 10 to one.
spk_0
Dry sidle, 10 to one.
spk_0
Matthews, 18 to one.
spk_0
And patchknack.
spk_0
At 20 to one.
spk_0
Where's Quinn Hughes?
spk_0
Quinn Hughes.
spk_0
Is.
spk_0
Down the list here.
spk_0
Maybe it's not that far down the list.
spk_0
I'm not.
spk_0
Oh yeah.
spk_0
He's 40 to one.
spk_0
40 to one.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
He's going to get 90 to points in the.
spk_0
Uh, the.
spk_0
Hello, the season.
spk_0
The Vesna trophy favorite, as you would imagine, is.
spk_0
She's.
spk_0
Sergan.
spk_0
No, the.
spk_0
Hello.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Hello.
spk_0
Plus 325.
spk_0
She's circons next plus 650.
spk_0
Vasiliski plus a 50.
spk_0
Authentia 15 to one.
spk_0
If you wanted to bet on Stolars is not that long of a 25 to one.
spk_0
No, don't want that.
spk_0
Don't want that.
spk_0
And.
spk_0
I didn't hate that Austin Matthews, 18 to one.
spk_0
No, I mean, but an narrative.
spk_0
As a bet goes.
spk_0
Uh, and this one's interested in the Jack Adams award winner, uh, the favorite.
spk_0
Everyone's picking what's his name in Utah?
spk_0
Turn ye.
spk_0
Kanye, that is the favorite, the favorite for the plus.
spk_0
He asked us how to pronounce it.
spk_0
Commercial break.
spk_0
That also had it on my mind that kinda tip, but there's another one that I saw crat everywhere.
spk_0
Joel Kwenville coming across.
spk_0
Like you knew that.
spk_0
No, no, but I saw a daily faceoff.
spk_0
I'm not sure you're not.
spk_0
spk_0
No, I am daily face up to the 10 person vote and eight of them had never acted in your
spk_0
life.
spk_0
I know that now.
spk_0
And Joel Quinnville's the next that plus a 50 Martin sailor we attend to one, ever
spk_0
in 11 to one.
spk_0
So basically all the teams they expect to kind of go past expectations.
spk_0
Right.
spk_0
So there you go.
spk_0
No, this is who you'd expect.
spk_0
Macar Quinn use and Renski.
spk_0
Talk to me about Lane Hudson.
spk_0
Lane Hudson is not that far down the list.
spk_0
22 to one.
spk_0
Kid, get it.
spk_0
You like the bed?
spk_0
Well, you know, you're not looking to get a four to one guy when you put your money in
spk_0
and it sits there for eight months.
spk_0
You'd like to hit on something a little longer.
spk_0
And I do like to, you know, just just a quick one here.
spk_0
But I can't actually make a big.
spk_0
Quick, Jay's.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Well, I'm your career, junior in his career on Carlos Rodón, the pitcher for the New York
spk_0
Yankee tonight is 10 for 17 in his career.
spk_0
OPS of 1650.
spk_0
He loves hitting there.
spk_0
And he loves hitting off this guy and he's smoking hot.
spk_0
Give me a Vladihome run today at plus 425.
spk_0
Yeah, I'll take that.
spk_0
Yeah, and that was Game Time presented by Bet 365.
spk_0
Visit the app, play to Stods and see why it's never ordinary at Bet 365, must be
spk_0
19 plus.
spk_0
And there it only please play responsibly.
spk_0
Okay, we did touch on this a little bit.
spk_0
But I think yesterday, but I don't know, it deserves more of a conversation.
spk_0
And this is this whole Tampa Bay Lightning versus Florida Panthers.
spk_0
Suspensions off the exhibition game.
spk_0
NHL has suspended Scott Saber and four games in defense.
spk_0
And Jay Jay Moiser for two games in that preseason game.
spk_0
And we had Commissioner Batman on yesterday and we did speak of it.
spk_0
If you missed that interview, go check it.
spk_0
Yeah, you can download it.
spk_0
Well, you guys grinded him to the hospital.
spk_0
Yeah, but he.
spk_0
The first thing he said, notice Lee guys, holy when we brought it up is that's not what
spk_0
were or that's all about or were not what we're trying to be.
spk_0
Just not what we're just about, which.
spk_0
You know, I think he hates the perception of it.
spk_0
He loves everything about how tough he likes to people like it or game tough or game
spk_0
is, but he's got to play the part on that.
spk_0
But come on, a lot of people are sitting there.
spk_0
I'll tell you what my first thought is that teams are now going to sit there and look
spk_0
at Florida and say, we've had enough of your crap serving the crap sandwich.
spk_0
I ain't eating it anymore.
spk_0
That's what I got out of Tampa Bay this weekend is that they came right back at them and
spk_0
said exhibition game, no exhibition game, outdoor game, pond hockey, road, I don't care.
spk_0
We're not eating your crap sandwich anymore.
spk_0
That's what I got out of it.
spk_0
Well, can I tell you this relates to the thing I was going to say before game time, I was
spk_0
going to ask if you had seen the panther Stanley Cup rings.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Nice.
spk_0
They are.
spk_0
They're very nice.
spk_0
On the inside, the inscription is no apologies.
spk_0
We apologize to no one.
spk_0
To no one has Toronto crosshouse and whoever else can fly out something to know.
spk_0
So, hey, Toronto got the name on it.
spk_0
Stanley Cup ring boys.
spk_0
We apologize to no one, which is by the way, you grab onto Connor McGregor.
spk_0
That's a real.
spk_0
Who's Connor?
spk_0
Connor McGregor.
spk_0
Is that what is the thing about?
spk_0
Is that what it's all about?
spk_0
You know, I'd like to apologize to absolutely not.
spk_0
That's all it is.
spk_0
I love it too.
spk_0
I love that part too.
spk_0
I'm not looking for any apologies.
spk_0
I'm looking for.
spk_0
Right.
spk_0
But my point is hard hockey.
spk_0
You're right.
spk_0
People are going to say, okay, well, if that's the way we're doing it, that's the way we're
spk_0
doing it.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
I mean, how many can play like that though?
spk_0
But, but I mean, it's easy for them to play like that when they get away with everything.
spk_0
And they've gotten away with them.
spk_0
They've got to be.
spk_0
No, they have.
spk_0
Like, stop it.
spk_0
No, no, no.
spk_0
Listen here for a second.
spk_0
Listen to me, man.
spk_0
You're the only thing.
spk_0
The only thing.
spk_0
The only thing.
spk_0
The only thing that they got punished for was a fine for AJ Greer, injuring Brandon Hagel
spk_0
in a preseason game.
spk_0
And then what you're supposed to do is send out what you, and the lightning got suspensions,
spk_0
fines.
spk_0
The team got suspended $100,000.
spk_0
And you know, don Cooper gets suspended.
spk_0
I love you, but you're just, you're just a crybaby, okay?
spk_0
Totally.
spk_0
You're completely agree with that.
spk_0
You're the kid that runs to the principal's office and tells on everyone that, no, no,
spk_0
he's got time for that.
spk_0
That's a preferential treatment from the, oh, we don't apologize anyone because we can
spk_0
run around a punch people in the head and elbow, golees and do whatever the hell we want.
spk_0
And we don't get suspended.
spk_0
So we don't get suspended.
spk_0
Go go go cry to somebody then.
spk_0
I cry every day on national TV and nobody.
spk_0
What else am I supposed to do?
spk_0
And nobody cares.
spk_0
Well, it's yeah, well, everyone cares except people like you who seem like you don't
spk_0
want to care.
spk_0
And like the Panthers who like, oh, we apologize to nobody because the league doesn't punish
spk_0
them the same way they punish other people.
spk_0
That's just the way I'm bad man.
spk_0
I don't believe that it's true.
spk_0
I don't believe it's very different.
spk_0
It's preferring.
spk_0
I don't.
spk_0
I do.
spk_0
Why would you give, why, if you can pick any market to build up hockey, why would they want
spk_0
the Panthers to see incentive?
spk_0
Because why why the Panthers?
spk_0
Why do they get because we have the commissioner on the other?
spk_0
And I mean, he's like that's one of the places that put hockey and they want to keep hockey
spk_0
popular there.
spk_0
Listen, I'm not saying it's fixed.
spk_0
I'm just saying they get away with murder.
spk_0
Sam Bennett, he threw a flying rabbit punch on Brad Marshall and in the pilot is fixed.
spk_0
They do.
spk_0
They do.
spk_0
I'm not saying it's X amount of an idiot, but they definitely get preferential treatment.
spk_0
I'm sorry.
spk_0
It's flat out.
spk_0
It's flat out true.
spk_0
People are saying, you know, not to be a Trump, but people are saying that is true.
spk_0
People are saying that.
spk_0
That's the thing they're saying.
spk_0
I just say, hey, get bigger.
spk_0
Get tougher and fight back.
spk_0
And they did.
spk_0
They just did.
spk_0
And then they got the book thrown at them and the Panthers got nothing.
spk_0
Carder for Hegey, barbecue is a guy from behind in a preseason game and a malicious factor.
spk_0
Nothing, but stabbering four games, mose or four games, $100,000 fine to the lightning.
spk_0
$25,000, $25,000 for a coupe.
spk_0
It's like, this is a penalty.
spk_0
This is a suspension.
spk_0
It's just a lot of illegal.
spk_0
But you know what doesn't happen?
spk_0
This, if they suspend AJ Greer for going after,
spk_0
Hegell, this doesn't happen.
spk_0
They sent him out there to do this because of what happened before.
spk_0
You know hockey better than anybody, Kipper.
spk_0
Like you can't stop putting your head in the sand with this stuff.
spk_0
Obviously, this was in response to something else.
spk_0
Good, good respond then.
spk_0
But the naked punish, the little precious Panthers are like, we did nothing wrong as usual.
spk_0
Back to my Stanley Cup rain question.
spk_0
Anyways, so they have two cups on the right.
spk_0
They don't need the treatment.
spk_0
There's two cups on the Stanley Cup ring.
spk_0
I don't know how I feel about that.
spk_0
Like a guy like Mar-Shan gets his ring and there's two cups on it.
spk_0
He won one cup.
spk_0
He was not the, not all the players won the two cups.
spk_0
How do you feel about the two cups?
spk_0
I don't know, to me.
spk_0
The like Islanders did four.
spk_0
The Islanders had diamonds, one diamond for one, two diamonds for two, three diamonds.
spk_0
I think, I don't know if it's an Edmonton Euler ring or the Islander ring, but I do recall
spk_0
seeing consecutive cups on it to represent the organizations.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Two cups.
spk_0
I think I'm okay with it.
spk_0
I think you are the only person to do that.
spk_0
I never thought of it that way before you're the first person to bring it up.
spk_0
And I saw the two cups and I said, that's really cool.
spk_0
But if someone wasn't part of the first one, it's not your two cups.
spk_0
It's the team's first two cups.
spk_0
So I don't know.
spk_0
I thought it was, I thought it was very tasteful.
spk_0
I mean, they're cool.
spk_0
I, yeah, they got the rat on the inscription as well.
spk_0
Very tasteful.
spk_0
We apologize for the rat on it.
spk_0
You know, we apologize to nobody.
spk_0
Tastesful.
spk_0
That's what I say with the panthers always tasteful.
spk_0
Very Zedom.
spk_0
Just train them all.
spk_0
Train them a flambarie Zedom.
spk_0
A train them all out of care.
spk_0
Taste the rules don't apply to us.
spk_0
We don't need the, we don't need rules for Florida.
spk_0
A tissue couldn't absorb those tears.
spk_0
We need like, we need the sponge.
spk_0
We need a big like, we need the shambles.
spk_0
There's a lot of people.
spk_0
There's like a, wow, for your tears, we need the sham.
spk_0
Wow.
spk_0
I'm here for a reason.
spk_0
I'm here for reason, boys.
spk_0
And it's the crowd.
spk_0
Oh my god.
spk_0
He's given voice to the people.
spk_0
Not the people, just his super leaf fans.
spk_0
Oh, well, guess what?
spk_0
Guess who's the most listers on our show?
spk_0
My beloved leaf nation.
spk_0
And I'll always fight for you.
spk_0
Good hustle today, Sam.
spk_0
Thanks, bud.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
Go.
spk_0
Alex Petra Angelo, placed on long term IR
spk_0
for the season and playoffs.
spk_0
Yeah, but we, we, we, we, we say this place over.
spk_0
I don't know.
spk_0
People were going, there was a thing in the preseason
spk_0
being like, he might play.
spk_0
I know he put that out.
spk_0
He talked about it.
spk_0
But like, everything was pointed to this guy.
spk_0
I thought he'd be in playoffs.
spk_0
Not, not coming back.
spk_0
So that was part of the Vegas thing.
spk_0
So yeah, that's a significant, I mean, that hurts.
spk_0
They were totally prepared for this guy to never play again.
spk_0
Well, that's how they were.
spk_0
Why they paid murder.
spk_0
I would like to retroactively take back some of the things
spk_0
they said about the foreign nation's face off.
spk_0
And I mean, that's sincerely like I was hard on Petra Angelo
spk_0
for not going.
spk_0
Everyone went the, and then he played after the foreign nations.
spk_0
It was like, if you can play, why can't you play?
spk_0
I get him being like, we got a chance to stay on the cup.
spk_0
I got to just see if I can get healthier.
spk_0
I get I apologize to nobody.
spk_0
I apologize.
spk_0
Absolutely.
spk_0
Nobody.
spk_0
Yeah, I don't think it'll be your last apology this year.
spk_0
I can apologize to I am people say I'm peaceful.
spk_0
That's what I say.
spk_0
Wait, do they, do you get hammered on that?
spk_0
No, no, no, but it also did we did get hammered with them.
spk_0
Like David yesterday for sure.
spk_0
Well, like a lot of tears, like all Toronto tears.
spk_0
Why?
spk_0
Because we were mad about it.
spk_0
No, we're not.
spk_0
That's so not true.
spk_0
Great.
spk_0
It is not true.
spk_0
They'll just, people want to take it where the all-time greats
spk_0
always take last.
spk_0
So he did that.
spk_0
Connor, he got to give me Connor is can take whatever he wants.
spk_0
At the end of the day, he's going to make $200 million.
spk_0
What?
spk_0
So what?
spk_0
He left what?
spk_0
How much on the table?
spk_0
Nobody cares.
spk_0
Nobody cares at the end of the day.
spk_0
Roman cares.
spk_0
You know, I just don't like the optics of it that Caprice
spk_0
off who's done squat is making five more million dollars
spk_0
than the best player on the planet who took his Stanley Cup.
spk_0
Same amount of rent.
spk_0
Team to the finals.
spk_0
Same amount of rent.
spk_0
Three times, right?
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
No, one's a little more proven Sammy.
spk_0
I apologize to Carlos Rodón for the beating he's going to take tonight.
spk_0
Go, Jays!
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
All kicks off tonight.
spk_0
Don't forget those three NHL games between Sammy's James.
spk_0
Oh, yeah.
spk_0
Enjoy your night, everybody.
