Uh, yeah, that's what I did, a lot of post-show reading this week, and I saw a lot of,

uh, hey, this would be a great episode 8 of 10, but it isn't what's going on here.

Uh, I don't know how you felt, yeah, we haven't talked about it, time out in terms of our,

the pacing of our friendship, we are now 12 hours apart.

Um, all the slow episodes. Yes, but, uh, I don't know if you've seen a lot of that stuff either,

because you've been working your butt off over there at the end of a fringe, but yeah, a lot of,
spk_0
a lot of discourse about this episode. So I saw one thing of someone, I don't know,
spk_0
posting somewhere like, oh boy, what a flop of a finale. Nothing happened, uh, like,
spk_0
making a whole season be set up for the next season, hell of a choice, something like that.

Before having seen the episode, which I only had to watch late last night, and now it is early
spk_0
the next morning, so I haven't had time to dig into anything. Um, I'm like, uh, a, a rushed god

and a, you know, no digging time. Yeah. But I'm not at all surprised this whole season,
spk_0
as much as I like, I think in the future, no one will care. Um, we're reflect on this as being
spk_0
part of the story. But right now, I really think maybe they have overestimated the, uh, good will,
spk_0
they have with their audience in terms of like, oh, take your time. Absolutely. We're here.

When, whenever you're ready, this is like, you ever stood in like a bakery or a coffee shop or

something? And normally it's all fine. But sometimes if they're running a bit behind in this land,

there's like a tension that starts to build. Oh, yeah. And people understand that you know,
spk_0
the hospitality industry, not fun, not kind, but everyone has a tipping point and you can feel like,
spk_0
oh, we're not the stuff. Fucking writing in here. Yeah. Yeah. I want my cheesy mite scroll, can't.

It's important that I eat bread. Yes. I do think there has been a large swath, a spectrum of

responses. Some people have been fully like angry that it was so, um, you know, it felt so unfinished

or it felt like the whole thing was, yeah, like he said, it build up without any payoff or too

many cliff hangers. There's been a lot of people who, yeah, I also like, well, I'm still excited to

see what happens in episode one, a season three. And there have been people, some of those who've
spk_0
emailed us, who've been like, yeah, I enjoyed the whole thing. I thought it was fantastic and I

loved the final montage. So yeah. And also I should say included in our correspondence from our

lovely listeners, there has, there has basically been that spectrum as well. It's not just, we're not
spk_0
just getting episode finale lovers. We're getting some of those people who are like, that,
spk_0
that was nothing. So, um, yeah, I'm curious to go through it because I think I kind of felt
spk_0
similarly to every previous episode of this season where I thought it was fine. I don't think I
spk_0
would be watching it if we weren't talking about it for this. But I was an, um, insulted by it.

But yeah, I think I'm somewhere in the middle two where like, I think I would probably,
spk_0
not like not watch the show because I'm not interested. But I think I'd personally wait until
spk_0
there was more of it. Yes. Yes. That would be my preference, honestly, especially with the

multi-year gaps in between as we've talked about a bunch of times. Yeah. But yeah, I really enjoyed

that final montage thing and like all the things that they're doing and all the pushing that they're,
spk_0
the directions they're pushing each of the characters. I'm into it. It's just the,
spk_0
there ain't no rollercoaster to be on here. This is a really like, uh, studious isn't the right word.

But it's, uh, it's mellow this show. Yeah. For as much as it's about conflict and more and heightened,

quite soap operatic things, it's, it's chill. It is pretty chill. Um, I do think,

really cartoonish sneeze just by the way. I said the letters A, C, H, double O. No one will ever
spk_0
know. It'll be cut out if it even was picked up. Um, much like the build up to Otto Hitali being
spk_0
in a cage. It's not in this episode, Adam. What a reveal. And neither is, I don't remember, um,
spk_0
Thailand, Lannister saying that he was about to go over to, um, to SOS. I mean, I suppose maybe
spk_0
he said something about it, but it was, it would have been offhanded while like,
spk_0
Allison was having the ringing in her ears or something like that. It was, no, no, it was, um,
spk_0
it was the thing that they all pushed back against Aiman for. It was Aiman telling them to get
spk_0
the triarchy on board and all of them being like, are you crazy? If we get them on board and give them
spk_0
the whatever they're, uh, the, like the bit of C that is blockaded, then they can, they can,
spk_0
yes, they can do anything they want. So, um, that was, that was a lead up to this. But then, uh,
spk_0
I, I, I do think that was maybe the least interesting part of the episode to me. It was to,
spk_0
very extended for how nothing Thailand has been so far. Um, it could have, like there were other
spk_0
things I would have rather seen, basically. I think there's been a bit of that this whole season,
spk_0
but I, I like this for what I like seeing the East and continent. Again, you know, seeing all of like,
spk_0
going to a different country. I mean, like, oh, yeah, there are a bunch of people that don't give a
spk_0
fuck about what's happening in West Roses. Yes. There's a rest of the world and these guys are being
spk_0
petty and, uh, and, um, parochial. But, uh, I guess these are the try out of the triarch. There's three,
spk_0
sort of main guys who seem to be sitting there going like, fuck you, fuck off, fuck you. We don't
spk_0
need to give you shit. We don't give a fuck. What are you going to give us? What are you going to do
spk_0
for us? They come to an agreement and then they're like, oh, by the way, you've got to take our girl.

You've got to take the general. That's right. Uh, the income's the, like, character who is being

played comedically here. Yeah, pretty much. Um, she kind of looks like, uh, remember the, the guy

before they swapped actors for one of the people in Game of Thrones? Oh, yes. Yes. Really

kind of has that sort of look. I wonder if she's like of the same area or one. Oh, yeah.

But, uh, the, the, the sort of thread and we'll come back to it and, and forward from it. But

maybe it's quickly worth going through Thailand's little misadventure that it's pep through this

episode. Mm-hmm. Because it's basically him winning over this, um, like leader, the, the, the triarchies,

hey, they love her. You're not going to get anywhere without her. Yeah. She's our general.

She's head of the army. They only follow her. We are a bunch of disparate kind of, you know,

sailing pirate guys. So, uh, you got to prove yourself to a Thailand's like, oh, I don't know,

I don't know about that guy's. I'm, I'm just, um, she pitched, um, uh, uh, warrior. I guess

isn't the, I'm the lowest is, I guess they're more at this point, like rich, um, guys who just

sit at the front of the army and then say charge. Well, and Thailand, especially because he's got the

more warrior like brother. Yeah. Um, who, who previously has been like, you're a little pencil

pusher. Fuck you. There's no way you could mud wrestle in the east. Yes. That turns out.

And I think, yeah, I think this guy that we're following here, who is Thailand, who's the,

what, whatever the other one's called, Jim, Jim, Jimbo. This is, it's probably that. This is,

this is Taiwan's dad or granddad dad. Oh, because she accidentally calls him Taiwan at one point.

Oh, it's like she calls him a bunch of different names. I think he is the, the ancestor of, of the,

the angry Charles dance that we come to know and love in a couple or in a hundred years time or

whatever it is. Um, yeah. So yeah, I thought that was interesting. I did, I've been researching,

but um, yeah, he, he then has to mud wrestle the general and he does, um, he punches her in the

face. She's like, hmm, I respect you now. Um, yeah. And then plays a little trick on him about

eating dead bodies. Yeah. She's got a sense of humor. She's a prankster. She's like, pull my

finger and he's like, oh, pick your part and she's like, I'm kidding. I've never get a touch

finger. However, fuck my wives. Um, it's, that's, that's what someone who, um, they have a disorder

where they replace, um, Elsa's double use. Yes. Every time they speak and it's really bothering

them and they hate it and they really disappointed about the way things are going. So they're like,

and the mission is accomplished. And you're right, especially this bit, I like a lot of the stuff

has the feeling, but this especially is such a episode seven, like, oh, we got to go make these

pieces move. Let's get it done today and we've got to introduce this character who, you know,

clearly will be some part of season three. Sure. Is I think an interesting character having this

like fuck you warrior who's a pirate basically from the east who's going to be there to fuck

it up. And at some point is definitely going to be like, Hey, Thailand, I'm going to fuck you,

male. Like, as in kill you. Yes. I think so. Ships and stuff. Yeah. He's going in there. Um,

naive about the whole thing. And she clearly consents that she is a little, um,

Yara Greyjoy, theon sister has that vibe of like, yeah, I'm a, I'm a woman. I'm in charge. I'm

tough. Although this character is a little bit more, um, jovial, I guess, than Yara was. I like

the character. Um, you know, I have, having you sort of, I am from out of town and I don't give a

fuck. It's a little bit over in. It's a little bit, you know, um, speaking of a sailor,

Aiman sees a city. And that's what he thinks. I'm going to sailor. Oh, yes. He's been a sailor

in a city. Uh, there's this place called Stoneport or something they say it later. Ships,

building, ships, some point. Yeah. Yeah. We're spikes, uh, needle. Yeah. He's, he's burned

this shit down because he got ran out of town by the three dragons. Yeah. Uh, so he's having a

mature response. Yeah. Just a nice mature rampage. Um, but a man who cannot rampage anywhere

is egg on the, uh, sausage, the burnt sausage penis, uh, as he would do great in the streets of

in a little plan that we see, you know, come to fruition during the course of this episode,

And if I'm to manipulate you, I mean, uh, be your friend into, um, you know, when you're on the

throne again, we got to, we got to make sure you move. That's it. Uh, whether it's, um,

Aimen who kills him or Reneira and her armies and her dragons, which are definitely coming now

that there's enough of them. Um, we got to run away. We got to go into exile. So I guess egg on

will be the king in exile. Um, and yeah, it, it, it doesn't seem like he's particularly a happy

about this or be trusting of Larus. I don't think he likes Larus. But by the end of the episode,

he seems to have at least accepted like, all right, this is like the one option I have. Yeah.

And, and Larus kind of says that because like, Egon says something about, you know, I've got no one

and Larus is like, you don't have no one. All right. I'm here. I'm here. But also like, I think

Egon has, obviously some room for growth. And, you know, the way this scene is written, you kind
spk_0
of see the, the, the, the fucking dumb, like base kid that Egon is where he's like, he blew my
spk_0
cock up. Yeah. He's blown my cock up. And Larus is like, yeah, well, oh no. But will, there's more to
spk_0
do. So, you know, Larus is taking this kid and he's going to point him in the direction of Larus

is particular brand of politics. He also mentions he's got a ton of gold stashed away somewhere.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And I do feel in this scene, we get kind of like we get with Kristen Cole.

We do get Egon post trauma being a little bit less, you know, impatient, impudent. Like, he's

obviously pissed off and still has that sort of temper. Or at least, you know, is having maybe a

response that most people would have to be half burned alive. But I do feel he's showing a little
spk_0
bit more maturity and a little bit of growth, which is, yeah, like you say, hopefully we see
spk_0
some more of that development next season. He might be pissed off, but he's also pissed down,
spk_0
because I blow that kinks cock up. Yeah. Another bird for the man. Speaking of birds,

reynas out, out bird watching in the, in the fjords or whatever these are called, these sort of
spk_0
mountainy plains, finds a river, has a drink, she's fucking lost his hell and should not have run

into the wilderness, but out there she is and looking for the dragon, which again, just to cover
spk_0
this bit that keeps popping up, she finds by the end, then they have a bit of a standoff. We don't
spk_0
have any episode, both of them kind of could have been summed up in a sentence, which maybe does
spk_0
speak to that like frustration that a lot of people had with this episode and season.

I think where we end up with some of the more in motion ones too, you can make that argument
spk_0
about like all the Damon stuff kind of wraps up. And, or at least, you know, the little portion

of it there. And I don't think it would, it's been serviced by having three or four of the
spk_0
episodes it's had. Yes, yeah. But also, you know, I don't plan to die. I plan to watch the next season.

well, you know, by the end of season two of Game of Thrones, it was like the battle of the Black

He knows. And also we've seen him like stand up and go like my leisure whatever when,

when Egon walked into the pub that other time. So he knows what's going on. I think he's,

you know, obviously he's flown on a dragon now. So he's a bit puffed out chest. Yeah.

All right. Yeah. I think that makes a level of sense. But and like, yeah, we, I might kind of

try and touch on some of the emails we've gotten throughout, because Karen emails in,

to say he's kind of loving Alph's complete disregard for noble etiquette. His wahey attitude,

she sees what's going on here. She needs to do something. She's had her, you know, lying in the

lake experience. Maybe she can approach things a little bit differently, goes and asks the

most of a passage to somewhere. Yes. Meanwhile, Kristen Cole is sniffing a big handkerchief with a

huge eye on it. The one that I guess she gave him as her favorite or whatever awkwardly. Yes.

When they left in this makes or it's Gwain. Yep. This makes this makes Gwain while the sun shined.

This makes Gwain. I guess he's, he would have already known about the Allison thing. He seems

like a smart guy. Yeah. He just picks this moment for some reason to go sort to throat and be like,

fuck anymore because nothing means anything and I'm sad. He goes real like tortured poet's society

believe him. I don't love how his arc has been portrayed. Maybe I'm not sure if it's the actor or

it all feels a bit, I don't know, superficial or something. Or what it is. I think I think it's

superficial, but I actually kind of love it because I think this character is this guy. I have

seen so many people in real life be like, who raw, who raw, who raw, then they lose six football games

in a row and they're like, does the wind even blow for me? You know what I mean? Just the most

bitch shit fucking nothing. Like that's how we've read Kristen Cole this whole time right? It's just

like sort of like lame dumb in cell dude. Yes. And he continues to be that in like the lame dumb

I think that's true. I think you're right. I think that this episode is a good,

because it kind of got, you know, sweeps across every character and everything. It really started

to make me realize like I kind of feel like most of the characters are like that to me like they are
spk_0
a bit stupid and a bit selfish and also a bit shallow, which makes it hard to fully, you know,
spk_0
because I don't have to like a character to like a show. But it's just something that struck me
spk_0
watching this episode and now watching it again. Well, I think especially compared to and look,
spk_0
maybe this is a crazy comparison. But have you ever seen the TV show Game of Thrones?

No. So right. Well, in that there's kind of similar setting but like a bit different. But
spk_0
in Game of Thrones, a lot of the characters were evil and smart or they were stupid and evil
spk_0
but making life hard for evil and smart people or they were good but dumb like John Snow wasn't
spk_0
dumb but you know what I mean? And like they were these sort of, I think stronger people
spk_0
creating these moments, whereas this is about weaker people being caught in a whirlwind.

Yeah. And they're very different stories. And I like this one but yeah, I can see why,

because Otto has been like one of the characters from the start. You especially been like, here we go.

Now we're done. Yeah. Otto is the closest to that Game of Thrones time when Lannister
