I'm Marcus Richardson.
spk_0
And I'm Nathan Hicken. And we asked you guys to ask us questions and you did. And we are grateful.
spk_0
We took your questions and we actually gathered a large
spk_0
menagerie of characters and guests here to help us answer your questions. It is a packed studio.
spk_0
You dear listener, of course, know that Nathan and I record in the same room. There's no mystery or magic behind that.
spk_0
And in this same room, we have a veritable assortment of not just characters, but friends from the murder museum
spk_0
who are happy and delighted to answer your questions that you have for them.
spk_0
Yes. I mean, I think the first character I personally want to hear from is I want to say good friend,
spk_0
but I don't know if I can call him a good friend, seeing what I did to him. But Mark,
spk_0
wordy girl on Discord. It wants wants to know a what was your take on the revolution in uprising?
spk_0
Did you even know about it? And then Galaxy also in Discord wants to know how are you? I'm very sorry.
spk_0
Nathan killed you. And would you like a head Pat? Well, I made a response to that last bit.
spk_0
Who doesn't want a head Pat? I would absolutely take a head Pat.
spk_0
I suppose it reverse order. I'm very sorry to think killed you. That's not really a question. So I can't answer it.
spk_0
How am I? Well, I don't think I know how I am. It's a little clear. I think I'm dead.
spk_0
But I'm speaking to you now. So clearly, there's something up here.
spk_0
I'm really honored. I'm really hoping this can be permanent because I still feel really, really bad.
spk_0
I wanted to feel too bad about it. I kind of feel like you are set up to fail, honestly.
spk_0
What was my take on revolution in uprising? Wow. I mean, I try to keep my head down to not get
spk_0
to involved in politics. I think that if you just try to be helpful, things really work out
spk_0
at the edge, you know, not the battle happened. If you just keep your head down and do what you're told.
spk_0
Words of wisdom, Mark. Words of wisdom. Okay, bye.
spk_0
There goes a brave robot. There goes a cute little guy.
spk_0
Well, that was a good question for Mark. I am curious. We have a question here for Genevieve.
spk_0
Ah, a question from a culture 96. Yes, they ask, what is Genevieve's favorite movie?
spk_0
Easy, charade. Murder, theft, and intrigue in 1960s Paris, starring Kerry Grant and the illustrious Audrey
spk_0
Hepburn. As you might imagine, I have some experience with all of those elements.
spk_0
I mean, I just gotta say, I think that's a great film. So great choice.
spk_0
Excellent. Yeah, she seems to have some maybe a taste in common with you. How curious.
spk_0
Never, never. No. I mean, she can speak for herself, but
spk_0
clearly taste. Well, speaking of characters with great taste, we have a question for Harley.
spk_0
Who's asking Harley a question? I mean, you go for it. I think you really had a good rapport with
spk_0
Harley. No, I mean, who is asking this question on discourse? I see.
spk_0
Well, Chermoy Azest asked, what is Harley's go to karaoke song? Which great question.
spk_0
And somehow, some way, we managed to get Harley back who died not only once, but twice
spk_0
back in the studio with us today. Incredible. Incredible. Give him a round of applause, everybody.
spk_0
I don't care where you are. Stop it. Stop it. Wait, wait, wait, wait, keep, keep, keep going.
spk_0
Yeah, that's right. It is absolutely delightful to be back in here again. Marcus, it's been,
spk_0
it's been a long time. It's been a hot minute. That's right. Yes, but, well, I won't
spk_0
stay in my welcome, but well, I used to my, my favorite karaoke song. Well, it took me a little
spk_0
while to figure out what, what that means. But if I had picked one, well, I, I ain't ever been to
spk_0
West Virginia, but take me home, Gunter Rose always makes me want to dance more than a pill-bugged
spk_0
on roller skates always takes him back to the mines when I listen to that one. Wow. Can I, can I,
spk_0
I'm sure that no algorithm will be able to recognize it. Hey, yeah, okay. All right, just imagine
spk_0
the, the twang of a washboard and a mouth harp. Take me home, Gunter Rose to the place.
spk_0
You know, my noise cancellation software didn't think that that was a human voice. So it, I wasn't
spk_0
actually able to hear that, but I'm sure it was beautiful. Wow, thank you. Oh, it looks like we have
spk_0
a question here for Mac Hardscrabble. Uh-huh. This is from a culture 96 as well. And they say,
spk_0
how does Hardscrabble actually like his eggs? Hardscrabble, do you want to speak to that? How do I
spk_0
place that M with another B? So it's Hardscrabble, not Hardscrabble. You get it. Well stated,
spk_0
it sounds like a man who knows his, his way around his eggs. I don't think I've ever tried eggs like
spk_0
that, but I think I need to now. We have a very special question for a very special guest. It looks like
spk_0
wordy girl has asked not for none other than our hamster hamlet. A couple questions here. A,
spk_0
what did you really think of the preschool kids? And B, did you like to play with them? Or were
spk_0
you just annoyed? Which, you know, if I was to translate. Yes, I would say somewhat bother some,
spk_0
but in the way that you would consider a toddler bother some, ultimately they're cute. They don't
spk_0
really know what they're doing sometimes though. Sometimes they give you beans. Sometimes they give
spk_0
you beans. I guess that wasn't the kids. Was it? That's true. How do you feel with the teacher?
spk_0
I, this is an interesting question about pets in general. You know, like what pets actually
spk_0
even have a concept of the people around them, you know? Like our hamsters is their whole world
spk_0
that cage? Or do they track the different people like that that are around them? I don't know. I
spk_0
think we need to get a hamster expert. Someone on the discord. If you have a hamster and you have
spk_0
feelings about if the hamster knows if you're there, if they have a soul, let us know.
spk_0
If you're able to communicate with them, if you can get some therapy for a hamlet here,
spk_0
I think you'd appreciate that as well. Yes, absolutely. A very kind question to bring back a
spk_0
beloved character that has his voice well-known. Yes. Excellent. Nathan, I see a question here that
spk_0
is being asked of someone that I don't know who they are. I don't know where the name came from.
spk_0
I'm sure it's come up before because the people on our discord are intelligent people. But
spk_0
Caramoy is asked, sorry, Caramoy is asked, is asking the newman of LWA,
spk_0
Lua. Lua. What is your go to karaoke song? Who is this person sitting in the room with me?
spk_0
Who are they? Well, unfortunately, the newman of Lua can be rich for comment. As you might
spk_0
have forgotten, as it has been, I think, three years now, they appeared briefly in the summer
spk_0
camp exhibit, just mentioned on a book of voodoo. And as such, we unfortunately can get
spk_0
me here today. But if I had to guess, I'd imagine that their go to karaoke song would be something
spk_0
like every breath you take by the police. That feels right. Well, while we're asking questions of
spk_0
mystical beings, ah, yes. The same asker, Caramoy is asked, asks Melanoi,
spk_0
sorry, man, we speak or for those of us who don't speak backwards, what gives you nightmares?
spk_0
Well, the unseen ones, I do hate them. I don't receive nightmares. I create them.
spk_0
Horrifying as always. Bless her. And I mean, we got as a follow up, and I think I speak for
spk_0
pretty much all our listeners and especially tired and wired. Why? Just why?
spk_0
You've always been real. You don't understand to be confined in a dream, your reality banned.
spk_0
Wow, if I could hear less from Melanoi, wouldn't be too soon.
spk_0
Sorry, Marcus.
spk_0
Let's see. To appear, we have a question from tired and wired for the curator as well.
spk_0
What's your favorite exhibit? Mr. Curator, care to respond.
spk_0
Hmm, well, I have occasionally returned to the hard-boiled exhibit to explore some forgotten
spk_0
corners of detropolis. But my true favorite exhibit is far too twisted and intricate for mortal
spk_0
detectives. Don't expect to see that one anytime soon. Hmm, intriguing. I think this
spk_0
first time we've had Melanoi and the curator in the same room. This is groundbreaking.
spk_0
Yeah, wow. Better keep asking questions before this. This is going to be a murder.
spk_0
A murder. Ask me anything. This is the perfect setup for a murder. Exactly. Well, I mean, Marcus,
spk_0
this next question is from Becky M and it's it's it's geared towards you. So, uh, Becky M asks,
spk_0
do you have any advice on writing interesting characters? And also, will we hear from Grasman
spk_0
anytime soon? Well, let's answer those one at a time. Uh, advice on writing interesting characters.
spk_0
Um, you know, this question is interesting because I think that my characters in the murder
spk_0
museum more or less are always playing a role, you know, they're not necessarily the most
spk_0
well-rounded, but I don't think that that's actually a detriment because in the context of a
spk_0
murder mystery game, you know, it's okay for characters to kind of play roles in that game.
spk_0
So I'm usually thinking of the characters in this as kind of either having a certain take on the
spk_0
murder or role in the mystery. They might be playing kind of an archetype that I would expect to see
spk_0
in that environment. But they almost always have a secret, you know, something that they are
spk_0
unwilling to part with and that if pushed up against a wall, if talked into a corner, they will
spk_0
reveal and highlight something more. So honestly, I think what was the exact wording, uh,
spk_0
interesting characters? Yeah, I guess that's right. Yes. They are interesting, not necessarily
spk_0
well-rounded. I think it starts with just a concept that you find interesting. Like it would be
spk_0
interesting if and then you can kind of flesh out details from there. But if you're interested in
spk_0
like more about writing characters, generally, a podcast that I've listened to is Brandon Sanderson's
spk_0
lectures on writing, which you can find wherever you get your podcasts. He's a fantasy author.
spk_0
If you haven't heard of him, I'm sure many of you have, but he has some lectures where he talks about
spk_0
how to build a well-rounded character. And I don't know if I've necessarily applied those
spk_0
principles, but I think it's an excellent place to go if you're looking for advice on how to write
spk_0
characters. Yeah, I was totally fair. And then do you want to tell us if we'll hear anything from
spk_0
Grassman? I'm also very intrigued. Uh, yes, curator willing, we shall. Yes, it sounds really
spk_0
this feeling generous. Yes. He's, he's always in the background, but you can expect to see him soon.
spk_0
I mean, very soon if we ask some questions of Grassman. Oh, oh, oh, my gosh, he's been here
spk_0
this whole time. Oh, gosh, yeah, there he is. Oh, heck, well, I mean, I mean, it's, it's,
spk_0
it's an honor to have you here, uh, Mr. Grassman, sir. Uh, we have a couple questions for you if you
spk_0
have at the time. He nods stoically. Uh, two, two 47 in Megamania asks, do you actually like Grass?
spk_0
If so, favorite kinds. I think you're unfamiliar with the concept of nicknames. Ah,
spk_0
it's not necessarily something you choose. Doesn't actually represent very much at all. But I like
spk_0
the green kind that's underneath your feet. What are you walking outside?
spk_0
Does that as a classic, I suppose? Well, I mean, going off that, so if it's not
spk_0
grass related, how, how do you feel about your name? Care to elaborate any more on this, this
spk_0
mysterious nickname? I've gone by many names in the past and I anticipate I'll go by a few more names
spk_0
in the future. I think that the name is stoic, standoffish, a little odd evokes a sense of unease,
spk_0
think it suits me just fine. I love the enigmatic as always. If we're looking for more information,
spk_0
don't hold your breath. Oh, that's fair enough. It's been a pleasure. And he's gone.
spk_0
Well, I hope that was as lightning for you listeners as it was for me. Next up, it looks like we
spk_0
have some questions for Ducky who I have met once and then seen as a statue. Seems like another
spk_0
enigmatic guy seems to be a common occurrence here at the murder museum to have people
spk_0
be enigmatic. Ah, you two kind. Three question marks asks, are you a Newman slash God? And if so, what
spk_0
kind? Oh, thanks mate. Ah, am I a Newman? Not a chance mate. I wouldn't do that gig for all the
spk_0
views in the boom, blue mountains. But I do get around a bit and it so happens I might have been
spk_0
in ancient Greece a while. I left quite an impression much to Genevieve Shagrin.
spk_0
Well, that helps answer the second question was what was your duck statue doing beside
spk_0
Melanoi and the curse breaker statue? Sounds like you made an impression. Ah, yeah, I tend to do that
spk_0
everywhere I go. Well, you sure made an impression in our hearts. So it's a flattering, I think.
spk_0
I have a question. Last time I saw you, you were eating the can of beans. What kind of beans were those?
spk_0
All right, I mean, that's classic kinds. Hines, baked beans. Nice.
spk_0
I'm never mind. I'm home. Wow. Yeah. Well, I think I'm more familiar with their catch-up. So I
spk_0
have to give their beans a try. I'll break some around next time. I hope to see you soon.
spk_0
Oh, same. Well, excellent. We have some questions for Watson, our good friend.
spk_0
Let's start with, did you actually have a thing with a Greek God? How did that come about?
spk_0
This question is being asked by Vivien. Well, I mean, I wouldn't daily call it a thing,
spk_0
but I've had the privilege of working with Sicilian before. She, well, I mean, there was a feast
spk_0
that someone died and before you know, we solved a murder and she'd invite me to visit a lippus and a
spk_0
I really should have kept in touch better. I just, so sorry. Next question.
spk_0
Okay. Next question from ELY. ELY. It might be Ellie, right? Or... Oh, yes. Yes.
spk_0
ELY or Ellie asks, does Watson like Marcus or Nathan better?
spk_0
One in my position does not easily choose favorites.
spk_0
Okay. But I suppose if you're asking me, they're both rather rascals. What?
spk_0
Marcus, I took a while for me to warm up to him, but I suppose we have a bit of a rapport. Nathan,
spk_0
to me take a while yet for him to go back into my good graces. So I suppose at this moment,
spk_0
Marcus, Marcus is my favorite. That's fair. You can't argue with the man. Yeah. He's out of pocket.
spk_0
Out of pocket. And finally, another question for Watson from F Toaster who says,
spk_0
Good morning, Dr Watson. How is Mr. Holmes doing these days?
spk_0
Sure luck. Sure luck as well. Quite well. I imagine the finest detective I've ever met.
spk_0
And you could tell a rarest that he could cure. He has quite a lot to respect for.
spk_0
As do I. As do I. Excellent. Well, what a colorful cast characters we have here. Thank you
spk_0
to everyone who asked questions and really packed our studio. Yes. It was a blast. If you have
spk_0
more questions, feel free to throw them in the Ask Us Anything channel on our discord.
spk_0
Or you can email us as well if you'd like. But we'll probably pull some more questions in the
spk_0
future. But it was lovely having everyone here in the studio. Let's give a big round of
spk_0
thanks for the questions and we promise we will give you more things to ask questions about in the
spk_0
future. Yes. Looking forward to exploring more exhibits and making you explore a few as well.
spk_0
Indeed. Until next time. Until next time for wealth.
