I was very thankful that he did because I really enjoyed the first one.

And here we are just a few weeks later, now talking about the second one that's come out.

And I maybe will talk about whether or not we think there's going to be a third one

that comes out.

But tell me break this down and talk about it as of course, Jonesy.

But at the same time, it is like so unlike Darth Maul, but with the voice, still the way

It's just this weird, perfect dichotomy in the character.

He's just so wonderful.

I mean, this thing, I mean, look at this.

I was going to do a video just to kind of show everybody, you know, what it is.

So on the pages on the side is painted like this metallic red.

And so this is how it feels to be Ennicket Skywalker forever.

It's got this really glorious acetate kind of plastic cover as well as some murals

both on the inside front cover as well on the backside as well.

A Vader of Anakin becoming Vader on the back and Anakin and had me on the front, I believe.

I was actually cracked on the spine.

That was a little bit disappointing.

I mean, it's still really cool for them to send that we usually don't get some of like

these reissue books.

So this is really cool.

I mean, I appreciate Penguin Randmiles for sending these over to us.

So and if you haven't read this, this is not only the best novelization that's ever been

done, but it's definitely up there is one of the best books ever written quite honestly.

If you ask me, so if you not had a chance to pick it up, please pick it up.

It's annotated as well, which is just exciting to think about, you know, to kind of see why
spk_0
it was, you know, why he wrote the things he did, why he did the things he did.
spk_0
And on top of all that, there's a lot of stuff that's in this book that never makes it
spk_0
to the movie, but we've always considered it to be canon because it's, you know, a novel
spk_0
and there's some really deep, steep stuff that happens in that book.
spk_0
So that's a must read if you haven't read it again.
spk_0
When you talk to any, I think Star Wars person who's writing any of the books like this
spk_0
is usually towards the top, if not at the top of their list and definitely consider
spk_0
a must must read I think from a movie standpoint as well.
spk_0
Yeah, for sure.

Yeah, the rest of it.

I think we have some moments where they might be important.
spk_0
But this is definitely the one that kind of fits the bill across the board.

All right.

Let's jump into, let's jump into pieces of the past.

So what did you think of this, you know, four episodes again, about 25 minutes after
spk_0
you take out all the intros and outros stuff, it's, you know, down to like 22.
spk_0
So it's about a, you know, hour or 80 minutes, that's just over an hour worth of your time.
spk_0
But what did you think about this one compared to the second one?
spk_0
Did you like it?
spk_0
Yeah, yeah, compared with the first one.
spk_0
Yeah, you know, it was still really good.
spk_0
I still enjoyed it quite a bit.
spk_0
There were a ton of enjoyable moments.
spk_0
There are some really classic moments, I think within this two and some really like
spk_0
cutesy moments.
spk_0
They laid it on really thick though this time with some of the tongue in cheek moments
spk_0
and the making fun of of themselves a little bit.
spk_0
But it was just a little more forced.
spk_0
I think the tone of this picture was also, or this year, it was a little bit darker,
spk_0
which again, you could argue.
spk_0
We talked about before we came on air.
spk_0
It's kind of par for the course.
spk_0
Like you go from a new hope to Empire Strikes Back type of thing.
spk_0
And it definitely had kind of that shift.
spk_0
But I think it kind of took a little away of the fun.
spk_0
So while I still enjoyed it quite a bit, I still think I liked the first one.
spk_0
Maybe it's that novelty of just kind of in your face and it's different and it's kind
spk_0
of vibrant.
spk_0
And while it's a while the story itself isn't totally unique in any kind of way, the way
spk_0
that they presented our galaxy and our characters and a different galaxy, I think made it kind
spk_0
of interesting and fun.
spk_0
And this one played a little hard into them.
spk_0
But there were some of the introductions of the characters that did not use in the first
spk_0
one and Indie here and some of the elements around them.
spk_0
Like they pad like the pirate captain, Queen Amidala, pirate Queen Amidala.
spk_0
Like I thought they were just brilliant.
spk_0
They were they were a lot of fun.
spk_0
And so it definitely still worth a watch, but probably a notch or two below the first season
spk_0
for me.
spk_0
What about you?

I think it was probably about the same for me, but for different reasons too, because
spk_0
I would agree.
spk_0
I actually didn't like the ending very much.
spk_0
It just kind of like it felt like it was wrapped up too fast.
spk_0
I mean, by the time I got to the third episode, I thought, Holy Banana, there's only one
spk_0
episode left and they've got to wrap up this whole idea that now the whole galaxy is
spk_0
gone.
spk_0
So that seemed like it was going to be a real fast change.
spk_0
And of course it was because they just only had 20 minutes left.
spk_0
But even the way it ended, I was just kind of like, yeah, I mean, it was cool.
spk_0
It was fine.
spk_0
It was nothing new.
spk_0
It was very predictable.
spk_0
But I was hoping that they would kind of leave something out there or have something,
spk_0
you know, a little bit more, you know, off script in terms of what they've done, because
spk_0
they've had it.
spk_0
They've taken so many other liberties with the series and breaking up fourth and wall,
spk_0
introducing, you know, different versions of Lego sets and explaining why, you know,
spk_0
we've got the tall figures and suddenly those are the glious or whatever the hell they
spk_0
called them in the series.
spk_0
I thought it was really unique that the way they use some of that stuff.
spk_0
I loved all of the callbacks.
spk_0
This one felt like there were more deep cuts in the dialogue.
spk_0
Just like if you know the movies and you have the memorize, there's so many lines that
spk_0
either were verbatim from the movies or they would just twist slightly some of the wording
spk_0
to, you know, to make it funny.
spk_0
But I feel like if you're one of those people that really follows all that stuff, you
spk_0
were just having a blast listening to that.
spk_0
I mean, I couldn't stop writing down quotes of things that were being said.
spk_0
That's true.
spk_0
And I thought, well, there's probably a lot of people that, you know, don't watch
spk_0
it as much.
spk_0
I can tell you the kids, a lot of the stuff went way over their heads.
spk_0
Like they had no idea what was going on.
spk_0
I mean, they were still enjoying it.
spk_0
They still liked it.
spk_0
My eight-year-old said he loved it.
spk_0
It was the best thing.
spk_0
He said, the best thing Star Wars is done, which I don't know if that's a compliment or
spk_0
how to take that quite honestly.
spk_0
But he's jailed for some hours.
spk_0
He has a malware.
spk_0
He probably is.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
And then like just the introduction of some of the characters.
spk_0
Like I like the fact that we had a Soca Tana.
spk_0
I love the Ashley X time was back as the voice.
spk_0
It was just like, oh, very comforting.
spk_0
Still a little weird because she was the little, you know, Lego heads.
spk_0
Yeah, she was the one.
spk_0
So that was a little hard to break heads.
spk_0
spk_0
Yeah, the bridge heads harder.
spk_0
It's hard to hurt her story.
spk_0
I think too, though, about kind of being different and not fitting in.
spk_0
And then you get the rebels crew at the end to make her feel like she's back.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
And enjoyed that a lot.
spk_0
I bet you did.
spk_0
That was cool.
spk_0
Like Revan coming in was interesting.
spk_0
And I know we're going to talk about Revan here in a second.
spk_0
But man, it feels like it was a wasted opportunity for all the years that we've been,
spk_0
they've been teasing or people have been putting out the rumor trying to
spk_0
will it into existence that Keanu Reeves would play.
spk_0
Revan, I thought they were hiding that because he didn't say anything at the very beginning.
spk_0
I thought, okay, so they're going to come back and he's going to give us like a
spk_0
whoa or something, you know, some very, you know, immortalized Keanu Reeves quote.
spk_0
But from Revan, I thought that was going to happen.
spk_0
He never spoke.
spk_0
And so I was like, oh man, that feels like a really missed opportunity.
spk_0
If they couldn't get him just to record like one word and have him finally satisfy the
spk_0
fandom that's as ordered, try to always try to make him Revan.
spk_0
So you know, as much.
spk_0
So you know me and the media like don't really get along very well.
spk_0
And I think a lot of leading up to this show, there were a lot of quotes in the media
spk_0
and the headlines of like making their character debut like care, massive character
spk_0
debut and Star Wars and the next in the next series and all.
spk_0
Yeah, it was Calcestus or it would be Revan or it would be, you know, a Soca's back in
spk_0
this brand new series and like they touted this up for Lego Star Wars.
spk_0
Maybe not to bring not to kind of throw shade on Lego Star Wars movie.
spk_0
But I mean, we were pretty desperate for like headlines these days.
spk_0
I think in order to, you know, to kind of tell some of the stuff.
spk_0
But that would have blown, I would have blown the top off things like Keanu Reeves
spk_0
finally in Star Wars and it would have been the ultimate clickbait frame to have, you know,
spk_0
one or two words or two lines or something in an animated Lego Star Wars would have been
spk_0
the ultimate almost like a middle finger to the victim in some ways.
spk_0
Well, also up for using them in some way.
spk_0
It would have been interesting to see the response of that because some people would have
spk_0
thought, well, now I mean, this is a can of this opens the door.
spk_0
It's ample opportunity like this is really finally happening.
spk_0
They're in the same room negotiating and who knows where this would have gone.
spk_0
So there's a part of it.
spk_0
It's like, man, what would that have looked like in the other parts?
spk_0
Like, gosh, please don't do this to me.
spk_0
What ups says not speaking was a reference of the games.

At least that's how I saw it.

Right.

Uh, yeah, I guess I didn't consider that.

Well, he does, well, I guess a reference to co-tour one and two.

But then by the time he gets to slow tour, he actually speaks.

And so maybe that's where I wasn't thinking that.

But yeah, that makes sense because, you know, you are playing that as a first person.

It's one even.

Even makes a joke like, you know, Darth Rev.

Not familiar with your work, right?

Guessing old republics.

So I just kind of, again, a little tongue and cheek of not everybody understands where

some of these characters come from and they're a little deeper cuts.

Even Jackson, like calls himself a deep cut.

Yeah.

And holy hutch and then things like that, you know?
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
Uh, but yeah, overall, like I said, I liked it.

I did enjoy also the, um, like the intro stuff, right?
spk_0
It would change the, um, what is it called?

I lost my train of thoughts.

I was looking at something else down here.
spk_0
Um, yeah, like the end of the flash and the helmets and stuff and you, yeah, yeah.

All that change.
spk_0
And then when we got to that fourth episode, when everything was gone, it was just solitists

himself.
spk_0
And I was like, oh, that's cool.
spk_0
Like they really are.
spk_0
I mean, there was a lot of time and thought and effort that went into just changing this
spk_0
up to make it different.
spk_0
So that was enough to kind of really, you know, kind of keep it going and linking things
spk_0
up and showing that this wasn't the same exact rinse or repeat of the first one, which
spk_0
was cool.
spk_0
And I kind of liked what episode one, they started off with the crawl and they have
spk_0
to say, greeting the crawl.
spk_0
And he's like, wait, I mean, just scrapped this, this is taking too long.
spk_0
Let me just tell him he started to jump and around and it's kind of that ADHD version
spk_0
of, of Star Wars to an extent that really epitomizes the character in some ways.
spk_0
And it was, it was a nice spin on the, on the crawl while giving you everything you
spk_0
need to know and each character kind of piping in a little bit as he goes along.
spk_0
I thought that was another nice spin on the opening crawl force.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
No, for sure.
spk_0
And that was one of, I think two places where that fourth wall was broken.
spk_0
So it was cool to see that they, they did that.
spk_0
And let's just, let's talk about, I guess some of the other stuff as we kind of chronologically

maybe go through some of the stuff.

Like the fact that we got a such ventrists and the dates, the dates, the dates,
spk_0
the dates, versus the night's, the stars that was really good.

Yeah.
spk_0
And make a footer, but of course, it reprised their role.

Yeah.
spk_0
That was hoping she'd be more in this, in this episode, but are the series the second part.

But it was cool.
spk_0
She had a limited amount.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
And she was riding rank scores.
spk_0
I thought that was really, really cool.

And you got to kind of see him in action, you know.

And that, but I made a note that there's so many of these characters that are now,

like it feels like we need cosplay people doing them, right?

Like to see a, a day sister, a size ventrist that, you know, celebration would be really cool
spk_0
to see like the Luke Skywalker, you know, as the, I mean, someone's going to do it.

You know, somebody's going to do this, but there's so many great characters now,
spk_0
variations that you could do for cosplay type stuff at celebrations or conventions or
spk_0
wherever else that I'm really looking forward to, to seeing who does what and who pulls
spk_0
it off.

I can't pull off any of these except maybe again, the Cassie and Andorra one, but that was
spk_0
again, limited.
spk_0
Yeah, no.
spk_0
So the guys at work are trying to convince.

There's a few guys at work trying to convince everybody to bring back Hawaiian shirt Thursdays

and stuff, which I'm not really in favor of, but I will say that, give me a pure snippet

necklace and a Luke Skywalker, like Hawaiian shirt and I'll consider it.

So, right.

Yeah.

Let's see what else we get.

We get an update that, you know, there's some respect there being thrown towards Jedi
spk_0
Bob that, you know, he's now master A fall or a fan of Lego or whatever the acronym is there.

There was, was it Luke Skywalker who said the best teachers make them make the most make
spk_0
horrible mistakes or was that just what something that he said I forget now, but that was where
spk_0
it was one moment where whoever said it, I thought, wow, that's a little bit deeper.

Like there's actually some meaning that because when we get down to like what Star Wars is
spk_0
about and, you know, making, you know, making mistakes and everything that happened with
spk_0
the last Jedi and all that, that that was kind of hitting that that although they did
spk_0
take a cheap shot at themselves with the last Jedi here and just a little bit, but it
spk_0
was interesting that they had some moments in there like that where when Jedi was always
spk_0
fun.
spk_0
Jedi Bob says that he, if he's going to go meditate and if he, if he just, if he just
spk_0
a pile of clothes, he just did it too hard.
spk_0
Right.
spk_0
Yep.
spk_0
And then I thought they were going to play up the, the landalorian in Grogu a lot more
spk_0
than they did, which they didn't, which is actually good because I think that they, they,
spk_0
they had some moments in there later on where they were, you know, they had longer pieces
spk_0
of content and it was good to kind of see them turn around to be the good guys in the
spk_0
end, but I was worried that we're going to be too heavily focused.

But well hold on.
spk_0
There was another good guys in the end.
spk_0
They didn't get paid.
spk_0
And so they turned on the enemy.
spk_0
The whoever was for hire.
spk_0
Yeah.
spk_0
It's, you know, typical Amanda.

I was actually worried.

Like when we did the first one and I think when you and I wrapped up, we were talking

and you would, you would say you may kind of heard that he wouldn't be in like the

ability.

Wouldn't be and we wouldn't get as much landed or in and that kind of stuff.

I was actually surprised and very pleased with the amount that landalorian was in the
spk_0
episodes because I thought it was a fair amount, pretty good chunk of episode one.

And then I think we, we see him reprise a little bit later on as well.

So as sprinkling in and then kind of, you know, it brought him back in at the end.
spk_0
So I thought it was actually pretty well done the way they did it.

And he was very kind of dry sense of humor and I'm using I thought.

So he played the part perfectly once again.

Yeah.

And he did like, he did sound pretty good too.

I mean, you know, you know, he said his voice is really kind of going and we, you know,
spk_0
bless his heart.

We've seen, we've all seen him now.

So as far as where he's at, but he did a pretty good job on recording his voice for

this one.

And there was kind of a slight plug.

I think for Mandu and Grogu, Mandu and Grogu movie did it again.

There was a line in there where someone says, would love to see more of that little guy
spk_0
when they're talking about Grogu and they just kind of leave it hanging there and like,

no, okay, that's like a plug for the movie that's kind of like a grown moment.

I mean, there were a couple moments like this.

Like, this is full of grown moments.
spk_0
The whole movie is a grown moment.
spk_0
Well, but there's some they're like obvious kind of like those types of moments.

You're like, we didn't need that.

Come on.

Let's not commercialize this more than we really need to.

We all know Mandu and Grogu is coming.

I was cracking up on the battle ball.

That was the name of the battle ball.

It wasn't until like Kelly Marine Tran, like absolutely, like went all in on this part.

She was fantastic.

Like her energy and anger, like she was just so pissed off all the time.

Oh, yeah.

Right.

Which I mean, again, you kind of think of the meta part of that of like, you can only

imagine some of the frustration Kelly Marine Tran has probably had with Star Wars over

the years and they kind of unleashed it in a certain way in this dark side kind of
spk_0
big.

I mean, I know she probably wouldn't admit this over that stuff, but it's kind of fun to
spk_0
think about that in a joking kind of way and in a fun way.

She just leaned in it heavily.
spk_0
She was just always so angry about everything.
spk_0
She just wanted to kill everything.

I know.

And it's so big on her, right?
spk_0
For what she went through with the fandom and all that and leaving social media and having

just the, you know, I mean, there's something to be said to look.

She got paid and I get that.

But still, she didn't have to come back.

I mean, they brought in tons of other people to voice some of these characters and yet

she did that.

So I think that says a lot about her character.

And I don't mean that, you know, literally, I mean that about her personally.

So good on her for doing all that.

But yeah, let's see.

I have a lot of quotes and I don't know if they're worth talking about, but one about

the, I know what it feels like to be a brave little droid.

I think that was, it was at servo that said that or something.

Referring to, you know, it's a kind of a, you know, R2D2 kind of thing.
