spk_0 I mean, it was, it was a big night in the Whalen basement.

spk_0 I'll tell you that.

spk_0 At one point, I had a Byron left, which Jersey on under a CC sabathe of brewers, Jersey.

spk_0 I mean, this was either going to be a great sports night or a terrible sports night for

spk_0 me.

spk_0 I felt like there was going to be no in between.

spk_0 Got off to a very rough start both for the brewers who, you know, immediately give up

spk_0 a three run homer.

spk_0 And then, of course, the Jaguars down 14 to nothing early in that game against kids city.

spk_0 I know we both have some thoughts on Monday night football, but Jeff, I don't want to delay

spk_0 the breaking news here that we had about an hour ago as we record this on Tuesday afternoon.

spk_0 Congratulations.

spk_0 The Joe Flacco tour of the AFC North continues.

spk_0 He has swooped in to save the Cincinnati Bengals season.

spk_0 Oh, he can't swoop.

spk_0 He's too old to swoop.

spk_0 I'm too old to swoop.

spk_0 There will be no swooping involved here.

spk_0 He'll be dropped in and it'll be a disaster.

spk_0 This is a guy that Joe Flacco just got benched by the Cleveland Browns on merit.

spk_0 He was, as you brought it up, had the 50th EPA and passing among all NFL quarterbacks,

spk_0 only ahead of Jake Browning, you know, before this straight.

spk_0 He got benched by merit.

spk_0 He was terrible and indie last year.

spk_0 You know, 2023 is a fun little story.

spk_0 I think it was a bit of a mirage and that's not happening again here.

spk_0 I even with the skill position city has to work with.

spk_0 I hope I'm really aggressively wrong on this one, Nick, but I am so not optimistic about that.

spk_0 Look, I'm not super optimistic about it either.

spk_0 I'm looking at some of the advanced numbers.

spk_0 Not that we even need the advanced numbers to really, you know,

spk_0 double down on what the I test has shown.

spk_0 And I do want to keep in mind like he's been playing for the Browns.

spk_0 So he's been in a terrible situation.

spk_0 I don't think a whole lot of quarterbacks in the NFL would have impressive numbers

spk_0 playing for the Browns so far, given how those games have gone.

spk_0 But dead last among all quarterbacks who played at least 50 snaps in terms of total EPA.

spk_0 He is 35th out of 37 in EPA per play only Jake Browning and JJ McCarthy have been worse.

spk_0 He's actually dead last when you just isolate the passing EPA

spk_0 because obviously he does not have any mobility whatsoever.

spk_0 And then in terms of success rate also dead last out of 37 quarterbacks.

spk_0 Cam Ward and McCarthy are really the only two that are even in the same neighborhood.

spk_0 So I mean, it's obviously a desperation situation here.

spk_0 For Cincinnati, the reporting from me and Rappaport from Adam Schefter

spk_0 implied that, you know, they've been making calls over the last 48 hours.

spk_0 I think something set in in that Detroit game where they just kind of realize

spk_0 we can't keep doing this with Jake Browning, whatever magic he had at times in the past,

spk_0 whatever magic he discovered against the Jaguars to somehow win that game.

spk_0 It just hasn't been there.

spk_0 I mean, the Bengals were being outscored.

spk_0 I think going into the fourth quarter against Detroit.

spk_0 It was I tweeted it out.

spk_0 I don't have the number now.

spk_0 It was like 108 to like 16 or something crazy like that.

spk_0 So the problem with all this is like watching Cincinnati these last couple of weeks.

spk_0 Obviously not having Joe Barrow is a major major problem.

spk_0 But they have so many other issues that even if Joe Flacco does raise your floor,

spk_0 even if he plays closer to 2023, 2024 Joe Flacco,

spk_0 that doesn't help the running game to me all that much.

spk_0 Maybe marginally, it's not really doing anything for the offensive line.

spk_0 In fact, having somebody less mobile back there, maybe hurts you even more.

spk_0 The defense remains a colossal issue.

spk_0 So to me, it's just it's kind of a no change, maybe a slight, slight upgrade,

spk_0 just because of the history of Joe Flacco stepping into these situations.

spk_0 If you're trying to assess what this means for T Higgins or or Jamar Chase,

spk_0 but I know you as a Bengals fan don't really feel any differently about how the rest of the season plays out.

spk_0 Yeah, here's the thing.

spk_0 I'm not enthused about this move.

spk_0 I understand why it happened.

spk_0 It probably some move had to happen.

spk_0 I although I think the Bengals are not just a quarterback,

spk_0 a league average quarterback away from facing what ails it ails them.

spk_0 And yet it's still gettable.

spk_0 The Ravens are having their season from hell.

spk_0 They're one and four with heavy underdog.

spk_0 This upcoming week against the Rams, then they go into their buy.

spk_0 They'll probably fix some things, but their defense looks like it's long term

spk_0 unfixable for the at least, you know, you know, I think it's going to be a while

spk_0 before they fix things themselves.

spk_0 Point is, I think that this is a gettable division.

spk_0 I think Pittsburgh and Cleveland and maybe even Cleveland are better positioned right now,

spk_0 even though Cleveland is one and four.

spk_0 The Bengals have that bank win against the Jaguar as the bank win against the Browns.

spk_0 But, you know, there's an opportunity to be had.

spk_0 So they're having it, I guess is the way to look at it there.

spk_0 They're hoping that burrow comes back in December and that'll fix some of those things.

spk_0 The throws were so bad by Browning, I get it.

spk_0 You know, Bruce Johnson was going nuts, trying to broadcast this game justifiably.

spk_0 So there's no doubt Browning was terrible.

spk_0 That was good throws late Nick.

spk_0 You made that throw to chase and that chase made an incredible catch on.

spk_0 But it was also in a great throw.

spk_0 He is capable of good things at times.

spk_0 That's what the guy.

spk_0 He is.

spk_0 I think the idea here with Flacco is that he's equally capable of making the good throws

spk_0 and he's probably going to make slightly fewer bad throws.

spk_0 And it kind of felt like he was just just winging in at times through these first few games with Cleveland

spk_0 in ways that he has at times in the past.

spk_0 But like there were some just kind of reckless throws.

spk_0 I'm just kind of giving up on plays that you typically don't see with Joe Flacco.

spk_0 And it's not like Cincinnati is a dramatically better situation competitively, right?

spk_0 It's like the Bengals and the Browns like you said, you even feel better about the Browns.

spk_0 Somehow, you know, mounting a playoff charge.

spk_0 I don't think either of those teams are going to end up making it.

spk_0 Cincinnati, by the way, seven to one right now to make the postseason.

spk_0 But at least you have weaponry.

spk_0 You have proven weaponry in Cincinnati.

spk_0 Like you're no longer throwing to Isaiah Bond and Jamari Thrashe and Center Tillman.

spk_0 You got Jamar Chase.

spk_0 You got to Higgins.

spk_0 My hope is that I don't know how this happens.

spk_0 But they need to find a way to get Chase Brown going.

spk_0 Like the total lack of a running game.

spk_0 And it's not even me sitting here complaining about my Chase Brown fantasy shares.

spk_0 It's like it's just not even a threat.

spk_0 No, week to week.

spk_0 Like, you know, they try it every single week.

spk_0 You have first few drives.

spk_0 They run Chase Brown.

spk_0 He has like nine yards on six carries.

spk_0 And then you have no choice but to go away from it.

spk_0 Yeah, I think that's right.

spk_0 It destroys play action because it's not a real threat.

spk_0 It allows teams to not have to stack the box.

spk_0 It does.

spk_0 It does a lot of things that really change it all up there for them there.

spk_0 A couple of other takeaways here and we'll move on from that.

spk_0 But, you know, I think the giants.

spk_0 What are the giants asking for for James Winston?

spk_0 What are they asking for for Russell Wilson?

spk_0 How did this not happen first?

spk_0 You know, frankly, I would have been I would have preferred borough.

spk_0 I mean, excuse me, I would have preferred those two over Flacco.

spk_0 Yeah, giants have three quarterbacks.

spk_0 They don't need three quarterbacks.

spk_0 Yeah, it was the price.

spk_0 How was the price that appreciably higher that they turned

spk_0 into vision and traded for Flacco?

spk_0 I guess it must have been.

spk_0 Yeah, I wonder that too because I'm sure that call was made, you know,

spk_0 and the price couldn't have been that much higher.

spk_0

spk_0 I mean, it's like Cincinnati is the most desperate team.

spk_0 Like there are, maybe there, there will be another team that loses a quarterback

spk_0 and that's what you're holding out for if you're the giants.

spk_0 But you have not one but two guys that in theory, you'd be okay trading.

spk_0 Like they, they seem very committed to Jackson Dart going forward.

spk_0 I mean, I think Brian Dable has wanted this all along.

spk_0 And, you know, in the event that Jackson Dart goes down, like, you know,

spk_0 your, your, your franchise right now is kind of tethered to Jackson Dart.

spk_0 I think their, their season is over.

spk_0 It's more about the future.

spk_0 You could just go pick somebody up if you have to limp your way through the rest

spk_0 of the season.

spk_0 So yeah, I don't know what the asking price was for either of those guys.

spk_0 I mean, paying a basically what they flipped a fifth and a sixth, you know,

spk_0 in exchange for Flacco.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 And imagine it was a whole lot higher than that.

spk_0 And I'm with you.

spk_0 I would rather have for us.

spk_0 I would rather have the, the berserker that is James Winston.

spk_0 But I guess just to put a bow on this conversation, do you, you know,

spk_0 when you're going through and doing your value meter this week,

spk_0 bangles, of course, are our big underdogs on the road at the Green Bay Packers.

spk_0 Packers coming off of a buy.

spk_0 We did see some big line movement, by the way, went for 14 and a half down to 14

spk_0 after this.

spk_0 Shoot huge.

spk_0 If you do, do you factor this in at all when you're ranking Jamar Chase,

spk_0 when you're ranking T Higgins this week?

spk_0 Uh, maybe, no, probably won't, probably about the same actually, to be honest,

spk_0 I still think it's a terrible, terrible matchup still.

spk_0 I don't know.

spk_0 I probably won't change it appreciably there.

spk_0 Maybe a couple notches.

spk_0 I mean, Chase, you, you saw a Chase is capable of what he did every single week,

spk_0 you know, it helped that Terri and Arnold got hurt, by the way.

spk_0 And then Lions had other injuries in their secondary.

spk_0 That had had an aspect to that as well.

spk_0 But still, um, you know, the Packers, I mean, the one good news bit about the,

spk_0 the Bengals Packers matchup is if there's a weakness in the Green Bay defense,

spk_0 it's in their secondary also.

spk_0 So some, yeah, that's about the only thing that's a positive there.

spk_0 I just makes me think though that the Bengals decided, okay,

spk_0 we'll find out which one costs the least for us and we'll do that option as opposed to who is the best player.

spk_0 And then maybe, and maybe, maybe the Giants are saying, give us a third or, you know,

spk_0 because I did hear like, James for a third, I think I heard him out there, but no, I don't,

spk_0 I don't see that there.

spk_0 But I think it is going to be a really bad spot there.

spk_0 All right, let's go to your Jaguars here.

spk_0 They're four and one.

spk_0 They went on the national stage.

spk_0 They get Seattle coming to town this weekend.

spk_0 How real is this?

spk_0 I think it's real in the sense that I now have to view the Jaguars as a,

spk_0 a playoff contender, certainly, they're, they're four and one.

spk_0 They probably should be five and oh, I mean,

spk_0 every team can look back at at least one game and say, oh, we should probably should have won that.

spk_0 But I feel strongly about that week two game.

spk_0 Again, since an adi were Brown and came in and threw three picks and somehow still won.

spk_0 You know, I think this has been an evaluation period these last three weeks for me,

spk_0 Texans, Niners, Chiefs.

spk_0 And the Jaguars have passed that test, you know, three and oh, in those three games,

spk_0 you know, caught some breaks with the 49ers injuries, of course, and, you know, caught a few breaks last night.

spk_0 But I thought actually for a lot of the game, you know, Kansas City, as is typical,

spk_0 was getting the benefit of some calls.

spk_0 I mean, the no call on the interception by Lawrence was one of the worst that you'll ever see.

spk_0 Just a receiver getting completely taken out.

spk_0 Lawrence ends up throwing it right to a defender.

spk_0 I thought Lawrence crossed the plane on, on the over the top, QB, quote, unquote, sneak.

spk_0 But it was close enough.

spk_0 I'm not going to wind about that one.

spk_0 And then I thought it was pretty clear PI on Brian Thomas in the end zone at the end.

spk_0 But I mean, this, this was the exact game.

spk_0 And you could say this about the 49ers game too.

spk_0 And even the Houston game, like the Jaguars always lose those games.

spk_0 It's these, you know, hanging in the balance with 10 minutes left.

spk_0 You just know that mistake is coming.

spk_0 And I mean, for a moment last night, when Trevor Lawrence gets stepped on at the, at the two yard line,

spk_0 it goes down. You're thinking, all right, they're going to do it again.

spk_0 They've made, they've drove all the way down the field.

spk_0 They're in the red zone.

spk_0 They're about to punctuate this.

spk_0 And they're going to find a way to mess it up.

spk_0 And the fact that they have not done that now in three straight weeks, it's, it feels kind

spk_0 of like a new era of Jaguars football, to be honest.

spk_0 And I think we're seeing the Liam Cohen difference in terms of how this offensive line is playing.

spk_0 You know, it was not a great night overall.

spk_0 I didn't think for the Jags defense.

spk_0 You had the huge, huge play by Devon Lloyd that completely, completely changed this game.

spk_0 You know, or chiefs were out to a 14, nothing lead.

spk_0 You know, that kind of felt like, all right, we're back in control.

spk_0 If we punched this in and my head to cap on this game, Jeff, the reason I thought the chiefs

spk_0 were going to win him cover is because I thought Trevor Lawrence would be the quarterback

spk_0 who would make the big mistake.

spk_0 The mistake that would lose Jacksonville the game.

spk_0 I'm still in shock that my homes made that throw.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 And my follow up is the chiefs are now sitting at two and three.

spk_0 And this is the type of game they always win.

spk_0 Yes.

spk_0 This is always, always they win these sort of games and they didn't.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Oh, and three in one score games.

spk_0 Harrison Bucker has the kickoff go out of bounds.

spk_0 Yep.

spk_0 You know, Jaguar started on the 40 on that drive.

spk_0 I think that's underrated as a aspect of that.

spk_0 We saw Ted mentioned that the holding penalty on the the chiefs kickoff return.

spk_0 I'm not sure it's awful, but it was borderline.

spk_0 Maybe it's the thing that she's don't ever do.

spk_0 They start on the 17.

spk_0 The J.

spk_0 We're starting the 40.

spk_0 They had multiple penalties on kickoffs kickoff returns last night.

spk_0 It was it was odd.

spk_0 I didn't love the call at the end that basically, you know, didn't really give Kansas City a chance

spk_0 to mount a final drive.

spk_0 But you know, they were going to be up against it no matter what.

spk_0 It was under 30 seconds left on the clock.

spk_0 Casey still put up 476 yards of total offense on this X defense.

spk_0 So I'm not panicking on Kansas City.

spk_0 It is definitely weird to see them lose all these games that they were winning last year.

spk_0 But that is also how it tends to happen.

spk_0 You know, when you have one of these seasons where you win every one score game, typically

spk_0 that does come back around the following year.

spk_0 So maybe we shouldn't be shocked.

spk_0 But I think we started to see some holes in the Jacksonville defense, not having Trayvon Walker

spk_0 out there.

spk_0 I thought was a really big deal, especially against the run.

spk_0 I mean, no, no Kansas City back had a massive game, but you know, they were ripping off

spk_0 7.2 yards per attempt on the ground.

spk_0 And part of that was Patrick Bahomes, you know, going six for 60, but Karim Hunt had

spk_0 an explosive.

spk_0 I thought I'd say a macheko probably looked the best that he's looked in two years last

spk_0 nights on not panicking.

spk_0 If I've Kansas City, it's tough because you got to turn around and host Detroit Lions this

spk_0 week on Sunday night football.

spk_0 You lose that game.

spk_0 You're two and four.

spk_0 And yeah, you have her she rice coming back, but that's still that's still a reasonable

spk_0 hole that you have to dig yourself out of with that said, the chargers have lost two

spk_0 in a row, Denver's three and two, even if the chiefs do drop to two and four, I think

spk_0 you still have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

spk_0 Yeah, they just have a tough schedule the rest of the way to because they're the chiefs.

spk_0 They have a tough schedule.

spk_0 That's what they do.

spk_0 This game against the Lions though is very interesting to me.

spk_0 Banger of a game.

spk_0 Chiefs are now up to a two and a half point favorite.

spk_0 I think it was actually three at one point.

spk_0 I like the Lions side of this.

spk_0 Actually, no, I think it was one and a half and I think it's gone up to two and a half.

spk_0 Yeah, so I liked it, but I liked the Lions when it was at one and a half.

spk_0 I certainly liked it at two and a half, which means I'm probably wrong.

spk_0 But my my risk.

spk_0 I think the Lions are going to move the ball against the chiefs.

spk_0 I'm not convinced the chiefs defense is all well and good here.

spk_0 I mean, the total is at 52 and a half.

spk_0 So the book agrees with you on that.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 So I think this is going to be a game that, you know, it's vitally important for the

spk_0 chiefs for sure.

spk_0 And maybe maybe the nicks, I mean, maybe the the Lions, I don't want to say nicks.

spk_0 I don't know what I'm even looking at there.

spk_0 This makes me say that.

spk_0 But maybe the Lions, they're kind of a little fat and happy at four and one now.

spk_0 I don't know, but.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Banger is in that secondary.

spk_0 I think could could kind of open the door here for Kansas City.

spk_0 And I haven't really made up my mind on that one.

spk_0 And I think I think I lean chiefs.

spk_0 But yeah, like you said, I mean, Jacksonville, after a pretty sluggish start to this game was

spk_0 able to to move the ball pretty effectively.

spk_0 As we expected, was not a big day on the ground.

spk_0 Chiefs run defense has been really good since that week one disaster against the Chargers

spk_0 ETN goes just 12 for 49.

spk_0 They tried a few runs with Basial Tutan.

spk_0 He was getting nothing.

spk_0 I mean, those guys combined for 55 yards on 16 carries.

spk_0 But I also think, you know, it was it was a quintessential Trevor Lawrence game like he

spk_0 did throw an interception, even though it should have been penalized.

spk_0 It was still a killer.

spk_0 You know, we had the delay of game on the last possession.

spk_0 We have the egregious sack when you just you can't lose the yardage and more importantly,

spk_0 you can't keep the clock running and have to burn a time out in that situation.

spk_0 So like people who are not watching the Jaguars week to week, I think their eyes were

spk_0 opened to what Jaguars fans have been seeing for a long time.

spk_0 But at the same time, Trevor Lawrence delivers probably the best throw of his season.

spk_0 Maybe the best throw he's had in two or three years down the sideline to Brian Thomas

spk_0 that ended up setting up that game winning drive.

spk_0 Yep.

spk_0 And it's tying into that fantasy meatball ass is all well with Brian Thomas.

spk_0 Brian Thomas Jr. now.

spk_0 He didn't have a gap in this game.

spk_0 There were no drops.

spk_0 There were no like, oh, he ran the wrong route or anything like that.

spk_0 No, and you know, it's still not a monster fantasy day for him by any means.

spk_0 Jackson ran 54 plays in this game.

spk_0 So that was that was part of it.

spk_0 It ended up being more of a high volume passing game from a home.

spk_0 So you had 41 attempts compared to just 25 for Trevor Lawrence.

spk_0 So when you're quarterbacks only throwing it 25 times, you know,

spk_0 you kind of need to be a massive target vacuum to capitalize on that.

spk_0 And you know, he was the target, of course, on that PI play in the end zone.

spk_0 So at least you like to see the usage there for for 80.

spk_0 I think you'll take that for Brian Thomas.

spk_0 And like you said, the confidence at least seems to be moving in the right direction for him.

spk_0 Like that throw that catch that he made between two defenders on the sideline.

spk_0 Like a week or two ago, I don't know if he's bringing that in.

spk_0 So I think you have to be encouraged.

spk_0 We can move on from this game, but just fantasy wise, Travis Hunter,

spk_0 obviously had a huge catch over the middle, just elevated right over two defenders.

spk_0 He goes three for 64 caught all three of his targets, seeing that shiftiness.

spk_0 After the catch had a couple, you know, a couple short receptions where he picked up 708 X

spk_0 Reards, just you can around guys.

spk_0 And then Jacksonville played, you know, the bulk of the second half without Breton Strange,

spk_0 who I think they called it a hip injury.

spk_0 And I saw the play like wasn't touched.

spk_0 It was just running around over the middle and then started grabbing at his hip.

spk_0 I really like Breton Strange.

spk_0 I think he was somebody you could basically get for free at the end of a lot of drafts.

spk_0 And unclear at this time if he's going to be missing any games.

spk_0 Indeed.

spk_0 We're going to talk about more reactions to the week five slate and talk about survivor chaos.

spk_0 Start the week, I said, say to end the week there.

spk_0 Starting with rams and diners and the funny thing, Nick, is we've done our reaction shows

spk_0 in series XM because it was the Thursday night game.

spk_0 We didn't really give full service to this rams diners game.

spk_0 So I think let's do it here a little bit.

spk_0 Yeah, we saw a huge swath of the remaining entries in in circa survivor and probably a lot of

spk_0 survivor pools go out in this game.

spk_0 Obviously a ton went out on on Arizona as well.

spk_0 This is one Jeff where I just I feel foolish for just kind of following the crowd and

spk_0 looking at the night or his injury report and saying, oh, there's no way they'll compete.

spk_0 You know, it's a division game.

spk_0 You still have a really good head coach in Kyle Shanahan and obviously the diners

spk_0 you end up winning this game outright.

spk_0 It was one and you often see this in these straight up upsets when you're talking about North

spk_0 of a touchdown on the number.

spk_0 Like there were just some signs early on, you know, the the the fumble for the rams on the second

spk_0 possession, you know, Stafford after the diners marched down for a touchdown.

spk_0 Stafford just missing a wide open.

spk_0 I think it was too too outwell along the sideline for what would have been a big gain.

spk_0 They end up hunting and all of a sudden you're down 14 nothing and kind of starting to

spk_0 envision this game getting away from you.

spk_0 And the rams just made mistake after mistake in the second half, even when they were able to

spk_0 start getting some stops on the Niners.

spk_0 I mean, the the kind of Williams fumble was brutal, you know, not being able to finish off that drive

spk_0 and over time you can't pick up one yard on a banged up Niners defense.

spk_0 But I can't wait really impressed by Mac Jones, Ben, who I thought I thought died at one point

spk_0 in this game, you know, took a hit to the knee and it was just like lifeless.

spk_0 They go to commercial and he's back.

spk_0 He didn't even didn't even miss a snap.

spk_0 Yep, but this is now three starts for Mac Jones where they're they're not treating him like a backup.

spk_0 I mean, he has to be considered, you know, maybe the best backup in the NFL right now.

spk_0 It is he's on the short list.

spk_0 And if you're kind of looking for like, you know, who could be the next Baker Mayfield,

spk_0 Sam Darnold reclamation project type.

spk_0 They have not been afraid whatsoever to put the ball in the hands of Mac Jones.

spk_0 And if I'm a veteran quarterback down on his luck or even a young young veteran quarterback down

spk_0 on his luck, I am begging my agent to get him get him get me signed with the Niners.

spk_0 I don't care if you're the backup to Brockford.

spk_0 He recesses.

spk_0 Tate your career.

spk_0 You know, look at Darnold look at now Mac Jones.

spk_0 I mean, it's just yeah, it's some shanty hand magic.

spk_0 I think the scripting is so good.

spk_0 The play calling is so good.

spk_0 That goes a really long way.

spk_0 You know, shanty hand out out coach McVeigh in this game.

spk_0 That was one of my takeaways there is that he it was not just the play calling early,

spk_0 but the play calling like McVeigh choosing to run that play on fourth down and over time.

spk_0 Stafford's carving apart this reclamation defense for the Niners.

spk_0 389 passing yards and they run it into the pile with Kyron Williams.

spk_0 When you look at like all the advanced stats that showed that the Niners,

spk_0 that's the one thing they can do is stop short yardage runs.

spk_0 That's what they do.

spk_0 And that's what you decided to go do anyhow.

spk_0 And McVeigh even acknowledged it up the game.

spk_0 Yeah, yeah.

spk_0 You kind of got the sense that they almost like over thought that play a little bit.

spk_0 And you know, I don't you don't want to come come down too hard on on any coach,

spk_0 especially Sean McVeigh in that situation because if they pick it up,

spk_0 then we're saying, all right, what a great call.

spk_0 You know, it's it's always going to be a 50-50.

spk_0 You know, if you run, if you run a pass play there,

spk_0 and you know, it goes off the receiver's hands,

spk_0 then you're saying, why don't you run it?

spk_0 You know, so I think that the Rams in McVeigh would tell you just shouldn't have come down to that.

spk_0 And it was just kind of a series of errors that led to them being in that position.

spk_0 But at the end of the day, the Rams still put up 456 yards of offense.

spk_0 They were over seven yards per play.

spk_0 But the Niners again did such a good job converting third down after third down,

spk_0 like keeping the ball away from the Rams throughout this game.

spk_0 Is they're trying to mount this comeback?

spk_0 Like the Niners ran 83 plays.

spk_0 I know there was overtime, but there was only one OT possession.

spk_0 83 plays compared to 64 for the Rams.

spk_0 You know, time of possession was 40 minutes to 26 minutes in favor of San Francisco.

spk_0 They picked up seven third down conversions.

spk_0 There were three for three on four down just back Jones converting when he absolutely had to.

spk_0 Yeah. And it was drips and drabs.

spk_0 They took what was given to them and they did it over and over and over again.

spk_0 It was it was the Kendrick-born game.

spk_0 Is the Jake Toget's game.

spk_0 Of course, McCaffrey got his early and often and all throughout there.

spk_0 And all in the passing game, by the way, they can't run the ball right now.

spk_0 That is one of the takeaways that they really are bad at running the ball.

spk_0 Yes, they are. And you know, it's impressive that Christian McCaffrey is having the season that he is

spk_0 considering what the the rushing production has been.

spk_0 I mean, he touched the ball what 30 times on Thursday night.

spk_0 Eight of those are receptions.

spk_0 You know, in terms of just pure rushing numbers, he's averaging 18 carries a week for 56 total yards.

spk_0 And he does not have a rushing touchdown yet on the season.

spk_0 But when you're catching eight passes for 77 yards per game,

spk_0 especially in full PPR, that's that's going to make you one of the best running backs in fantasy.

spk_0 So I think it's fair to wonder like this dependency on CMC, which we always knew would be there

spk_0 to some degree.

spk_0 Like can he keep handling this kind of workload 25 30 touches every week.

spk_0 But with the way the injuries are trending, at least in the short term for San Francisco,

spk_0 I think that has to be the plan.

spk_0 And look, if if your soul and or Jennings are out again this week,

spk_0 Niners are on the road at the Buccaneers in the late window on Sunday,

spk_0 I think this is another spot where I'd be okay firing up Kendrick-born.

spk_0 I mean, yeah, that's a separate your expectations.

spk_0 Maybe that was the best case on Thursday night.

spk_0 But teams can't really run on Tampa Bay.

spk_0 You certainly can't run up the middle on the Buccaneers.

spk_0 Like I think this is another game where we see Mac Jones,

spk_0 wet it fly 30, 35 times.

spk_0 And you know, if Piersal and Jennings are out again,

spk_0 which we have no information as we record this,

spk_0 we know kiddos not going to be out there.

spk_0 I think we're looking at Kendrick-born as wide receiver one again in that scenario.

spk_0 Yeah, absolutely.

spk_0 I was amazed by the way Kenneth Walker had a pretty good,

spk_0 it's a pretty successful day running the ball against the Bucks.

spk_0 No other running back has.

spk_0 Barkley hasn't, Bijon hasn't.

spk_0 This is a team that wasn't allowing rushing yards to the running backs.

spk_0 And yet, you know, I, yet somehow, you know,

spk_0 Walker fit figured it away.

spk_0 But I don't think that McCaffrey will be able to find rushing lanes.

spk_0 I think he'll be heavily involved in the passing game, though.

spk_0 I also think that this night is defense without Nick Bosa, especially,

spk_0 they're vulnerable.

spk_0 I think they got a little lucky in this game.

spk_0 That's where like the survivor luck kicked in.

spk_0 The Kyron Fumble at the goal line.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Play call at the end of the game.

spk_0 A missed field goal in there.

spk_0 This should never have gotten to that point.

spk_0 No, it shouldn't have.

spk_0 But that's, you know, when a team goes down as a eight point favorite,

spk_0 So this is a good segue to talk about Amari and Hampton.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Let's talk about that real quick here.

spk_0 Amari and we got another question about that too.

spk_0 So Amari and Hampton out for four to six weeks at this ankle injury.

spk_0 He's already been placed on IR.

spk_0 The chargers offense align is the real problem for me here.

spk_0 That it's not even a Vidal versus Haskins thing, although it is kind of, but

spk_0 I just think without Joe Walt, who's probably not going to play again,

spk_0 they had without the Rashans later, they lost Mikaibekton for periods of time.

spk_0 They lost Pipkins for a little bit of time there.

spk_0 It's a disaster.

spk_0 The interior offense line was already bad, and now it's banged up too for the chargers.

spk_0 Even though they're playing Miami, this is like the, you know,

spk_0 it's the resistible force versus the movable object.

spk_0 You know, it's really a tough spot here.

spk_0 Rico Dowder went for 200 yards against Miami.

spk_0 Should be any running back that could do well against Miami,

spk_0 except the chargers offense aligns just at utter total mess right now.

spk_0 So it is.

spk_0 I'm not disputing anything you said.

spk_0 One, I think there's a chance they could get Joe Walt back this week.

spk_0 We'll see.

spk_0 He was out full heading into week five.

spk_0 I mean, I don't know.

spk_0 We don't get a lot of information on offensive line injuries, especially.

spk_0 But I think there's, there's at least a chance that he could be back.

spk_0 And in that Giants game in week four, you know,

spk_0 despite having a battered offensive line, we still saw him to go 12 for 128 against that Giants defense,

spk_0 which it is the Giants.

spk_0 But the dolphins, I mean, this is the ideal match of it.

spk_0 Miami is last in EPA per play defensively.

spk_0 Last and success rate.

spk_0 Last in EPA per rush allowed.

spk_0 Just gave up almost a franchise record day to the pay others backup running back this past week in

spk_0 and Rico Dotto.

spk_0 Rico Dotto was being used so heavily that he was cramping and was in and out at the end of the game.

spk_0 The dolphins have given up 137 more rushing yards than any other team.

spk_0 So I absolutely love this match up offensive line issues aside for the chargers.

spk_0 It's just a question of picking the right guy.

spk_0 To me, I think we see Haskins get the first crack at it.

spk_0 You know, if you look at just the raw snaps from last week,

spk_0 Videl and Haskins split relatively evenly behind Amari and Hampton.

spk_0 For what it's worth, we saw Hassan Haskins get six snaps before the injury compared to just two for

spk_0 Videl. Haskins got the first crack right after Hampton went out.

spk_0 I think he played eight of the next nine snaps immediately.

spk_0 And a lot of that work for Videl when you look at the total snaps came on the final

spk_0 driver to the game when Tray Lance was out there and the chargers decided the way of the white flag.

spk_0 To me, Videl is the more exciting player, but I think we see Haskins kind of get the lion's

spk_0 share of the workload to begin.

spk_0 So to that end, Fantasy Meatball asks, if you're in a fab league, how much of a percentage would you use on one of those

spk_0 backs? Try to get both and see how it goes. Just get one of them.

spk_0 How would you handle it for age and vision bidding wise?

spk_0 Yeah, I guess I don't hate the idea of getting both.

spk_0 I would rather probably just just target one of the other and lean toward Haskins.

spk_0 I mean, to me, this is, I don't know what the first number that comes to mind would be like 35%.

spk_0 And we keep in mind this, we don't think this is a season ending injury.

spk_0 Right.

spk_0 Mori and Hampton.

spk_0 So you're still looking at, you know, what could only be three, four, five games.

spk_0 And you know, the Miami game is the big appeal here after that.

spk_0 They play Indy in Minnesota and those are two games in a five day span.

spk_0 The Minnesota game is on Thursday night.

spk_0 So really like that the Miami game is the one that I really want these guys for.

spk_0 You know, if you miss out beyond that, I don't know that it'll be devastating.

spk_0 And there's also the chance that the chargers could bring someone in from the outside,

spk_0 whether that's the trade or they call up Gus Edwards who's just hanging out right now.

spk_0 That's a real possibility.

spk_0 But in the short term, I think this is a really good spot for Haskins.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 I'm counting one two.

spk_0 I'm counting six more games before they have their buy also.

spk_0 Unlucky the late buy on this one.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Well, that could also kind of inform the timeline on, on the Hampton too.

spk_0 Comes back after a battle at Jacksonville.

spk_0 Comes back for home games against the Raiders and Eagles after the buy.

spk_0 So I can see that happening there a little bit.

spk_0 Let's talk about.

spk_0 So the Rams and Niners we were talking survivor madness Rams and Niners were the highest pick game

spk_0 on circus survivors contest.

spk_0 The second highest pick was the Arizona Cardinals over the Tennessee Titans that did not go very well.

spk_0 And we know it was not not only did not very go well.

spk_0 It was the most chargers law.

spk_0 I mean, got him.

spk_0 So we're things most Cardinals.

spk_0 It is the most chargers loss ever too.

spk_0 But it is also the most Cardinals loss ever.

spk_0 Yeah, it was it was the most Cardinals loss.

spk_0 It was the most jets, Jaguars, Raiders,

spk_0 Spangles, Bengals.

spk_0 Man, I mean, we talked after that that Rams Eagles game about,

spk_0 man, I don't think there's going to be a worse beat.

spk_0 And I still think in terms of just like betting a side losing Rams three and a half or four and a half

spk_0 on a block field goal return for a meaningless touchdown is still worse than like losing Cardinals

spk_0 minus eight and a half, which was always going to be a dubious number no matter what.

spk_0 But my goodness, man, my goodness.

spk_0 If a Mario D Mercado hangs on to that ball, it's 28 to six.

spk_0 The game is totally over at that point.

spk_0 And I don't know what to say about that.

spk_0 I don't want to have a discussion about like these coaches got to get on their guys.

spk_0 Like it's I think it's just going to keep happening.

spk_0 I've never scored a touchdown at any meaningful level.

spk_0 So I don't really know what this feels like or why I would have this urge to drop the ball right

spk_0 as I'm about to go over the goal line.

spk_0 The fumbled interception, man, just an all-time stupid play all time.

spk_0 Like he fumbled without even being touched.

spk_0 You just go to the ground.

spk_0 You lose the ball.

spk_0 There were three Cardinals who could have jumped on the ball.

spk_0 One of the Cardinals defenders bats the ball into the end zone.

spk_0 And instead of just grabbing the ball, that's it right into Tata, their lock its hands.

spk_0 The worst part of all this though, Jeff, is that the times were still trailing

spk_0 after getting that crazy break, two crazy breaks.

spk_0 In fact, the Cardinals still have a chance to ice this game against the worst seam in the NFL.

spk_0 Tennessee had two timeouts and you had the two-minute warning coming up.

spk_0 They burn or see they had three timeouts.

spk_0 They burned two of them.

spk_0 It's I think there's two oh seven on the clock.

spk_0 It's third and eight.

spk_0 You just run the ball.

spk_0 You just basically punt on that drive.

spk_0 And Jonathan Gannon was asked about that on Tuesday in his presser.

spk_0 And he's like, yeah, I didn't love the call.

spk_0 Our OC, he didn't love the call either.

spk_0 We thought about taking a timeout.

spk_0 We decided not to.

spk_0 And he just gave a non-answer basically.

spk_0 It was essentially admitted we knew that play wasn't going to work.

spk_0 And we ran it anyway.

spk_0 I just don't see the logic in not throwing the ball there.

spk_0 Not trying to pick up that right now because you have the two-minute warning.

spk_0 Like the clock is going to stop no matter what.

spk_0 And I guess I understand this argument of,

spk_0 But I think you're, you're right to light up a player after something like that to be honest.

spk_0 They didn't because Brian, Brian, Brian Callahan doesn't get it as far as that goes.

spk_0 There's the, the Kyler snap, you know,

spk_0 snap Fumble where it hits him in the face mask because he thought that it was a dead play.

spk_0 He didn't go after the ball even.

spk_0 Then goes and gets examined for a foot injury after that play, which was also kind of like,

spk_0 I didn't see a foot injury there, but oh well, I was worried he was concussed at first,

spk_0 you know, because he kind of recoiled after getting hit.

spk_0 There was the Kyler, the Kyler intentional grounding earlier in the game where he just

spk_0 flicks it away.

spk_0 Uh, you know, it was as bad of an intentional grounding as I've ever seen it.

spk_0 You could argue that should be a Fumble.

spk_0 I mean, it should, there should be like a double penalty when it's that bad of an intentional

spk_0 grounding. This is so many weird things happening in this game.

spk_0 I mean, if you were on Twitter after the game, seeing Cardinal's fans reaction,

spk_0 like this felt like a like franchise changing type of loss.

spk_0 I mean, they were calling for Kyler Murray's head.

spk_0 You're calling for Ganon said.

spk_0 You're calling for ownership said.

spk_0 I mean, this is bad as it gets, man.

spk_0 And I think, you know, obviously if Demar Cotto just walks into the end zone,

spk_0 it's 28 to 6.

spk_0 We're not having any of these conversations.

spk_0 But I still think we saw a lot of the issues with this offense, which is not trusting Kyler Murray,

spk_0 which is getting a big play immediately from Marvin Harrison Jr.

spk_0 and then targeting him four more times the rest of the game.

spk_0 You know, we still don't have a ton of clarity necessarily on this running back situation.

spk_0 It certainly looks like it's going to be Michael Carter.

spk_0 I don't know what level of doghouse Demar Cotto is going to land in.

spk_0 You know, bam, night ended up bulturing a touchdown in the second half.

spk_0 But for fantasy purposes, Michael Carter did out snap Demar Cotto 39 to 19.

spk_0 He was targeted five times zero targets out of the backfield for Demar Cotto.

spk_0 And again, we'll see if Demar Cotto is in jail for this week.

spk_0 On the tight inside of things, a couple notes here, fantasy wise,

spk_0 we did see Taj A Spears make his debut.

spk_0 Only played 17 snaps.

spk_0 No impact on the game.

spk_0 Wasn't targeted.

spk_0 Callahan did come out and say they want to extend that.

spk_0 They want to get him more involved this week.

spk_0 We'll see they're playing the Raiders.

spk_0 So there should be some opportunity there.

spk_0 But Tennessee is dead last in the NFL in terms of the rate at which they throw two running backs.

spk_0 Only 90% of targets have gone to the running back position.

spk_0 So if they're going to get Taj A Spears involved in the role where he thrives,

spk_0 they're going to have to up that.

spk_0 Keep it in mind on Chica Conco.

spk_0 By the way, I mean, I know we're talking deep tight ends here,

spk_0 but Gunner Helm out snapped and out targeted Chica Conco in this game.

spk_0 They split snaps pretty much evenly.

spk_0 And then Calvin really actually saw reduced snaps for the second week in a row.

spk_0 Only played 44 out of 67.

spk_0 Of course, came up with the biggest play of the game that that catched down the field

spk_0 on a great throw from Cam Ward.

spk_0 And was targeted 10 times on 44 snaps.

spk_0 So you're still going to be dubious throwing Calvin Ridley out there in a fantasy lineup.

spk_0 But this was a much needed bounce back game after four duds.

spk_0 Yeah, I feel like the Ridley thing was just a preservation thing.

spk_0 He was banged up heading into practice there.

spk_0 And I don't think it's a change in preference.

spk_0 Chig made some good catches in those last two drives for Tennessee.

spk_0 But then Helm made another big one on that drive as well.

spk_0 Beautiful throw to the corner,

spk_0 which I think got overlooked because the Ridley play was right before that.

spk_0 Back to back great throws by Cam Ward there.

spk_0 By the way, Arizona is at Indy.

spk_0 They're six and a half point underdogs at Indy.

spk_0 And I wouldn't be shocked if they won outright because that's Arizona.

spk_0 As soon as you start to you, as soon as you count on them, they fail badly.

spk_0 Yeah, another just very weird game for the Philadelphia Eagles.

spk_0 But some just continues to feel off with Philly.

spk_0 Got off to a really good start.

spk_0 They're leading this game.

spk_0 17 to three heading into the fourth quarter.

spk_0 Get out scored 18 to nothing in the fourth.

spk_0 And the thing that really jumped out to me fantasy wise is we saw Jalen

spk_0 Hertz throw the ball 38 times 280 yards two touchdowns.

spk_0 Didn't really end up benefiting AJ Brown who saw a lot of

spk_0 Sir Tan in this game.

spk_0 It was targeted eight times.

spk_0 Got five for 83, which I guess you'll take that volume.

spk_0 If you're an AJ Brown manager, but still not the payoff that you would hope for

spk_0 with a game script like this.

spk_0 And despite leading by multiple scores for most of this game,

spk_0 say, well, Barclay carried the ball six times.

spk_0 Six carries for 30 yards, which it was just fine.

spk_0 Five yards per carry.

spk_0 Not even enough of a sample to really say whether or not you could get the running game going.

spk_0 But Philly just it's so weird week to week.

spk_0 Like sometimes it feels like they decide we're not going to throw the ball.

spk_0 Unless we absolutely have to this week for whatever reason.

spk_0 They're like, we're just not going to run the ball and see how it goes.

spk_0 And they kind of got bitten by it.

spk_0 And it's just been a really weird start for Safequan.

spk_0 You know, this this time last year that the numbers were significantly,

spk_0 I guess it wasn't really until like week five,

spk_0 It felt like he was giving you 120 and two touchdowns every week.

spk_0 But I just I don't really get the sense that

spk_0 the Eagles have like the same level of internal confidence

spk_0 that they did when they went on that run last year.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 And it's not the same offensive line that's just

spk_0 road grading every single week.

spk_0 It's not the same coordinator dialing up the great plays every single week.

spk_0 No continuity among their coaching staff.

spk_0 I think that's one of the things that I think it's no underrated at times.

spk_0 And the Eagles have gone through an extreme example of this.

spk_0 Keep in mind they they lost their offensive coordinator

spk_0 after losing to the cheese in the Super Bowl.

spk_0 That new coordinator didn't work out as well.

spk_0 They hired Kellyn Moore for one year last year.

spk_0 He is now a head coach.

spk_0 So this is four and four years.

spk_0 Yeah, pretty crazy.

spk_0 No, it's tough.

spk_0 It's tough.

spk_0 You know, it's that's why you live with when you're when you're successful.

spk_0 And you know, I mean, Philly to me is still still the team to beat

spk_0 until proven otherwise in the NFC.

spk_0 But it was still a little bit shocking to see them lose this game.

spk_0 if you have Sequon Barclay, hopefully you're I don't know, three and two right now.

spk_0 And you think times will get better, which they probably will.

spk_0 Yeah, I don't think he's going to have a six carry game the rest of the way.

spk_0 Right. And that's the thing is just it's really tough to, you know,

spk_0 sell do a sell properly or even a, you know, you're trying to buy low on Barclay.

spk_0 What are you offering?

spk_0 I just, you know, it probably exists out there.

spk_0 In fact, go to Yahoo.

spk_0 If you are in a Yahoo league, they have a trade center there.

spk_0 You can see the trades involving a certain player.

spk_0 I think it's one of the cool tools that they have on their league.

spk_0 So I would recommend you checking that.

spk_0 Maybe you can see what the market looks like there and not, you know,

spk_0 first of all, I don't get that many trades in my leagues.

spk_0 Secondly, I know, yeah, it's just they're savvy leagues.

spk_0 It's hard to see too many people panicking too much there.

spk_0 All right, the other game was the Sunday night game.

spk_0 The Pats upsetting the bills 23 to 20.

spk_0 A brilliant second half by Drake May, a kind of disappointing performance all around for the

spk_0 bills offensively, a stultifying first half or a six three at halftime.

spk_0 Lots of turnovers, lots of penalties in this game.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 I get the idea that the bills just weren't having didn't bring their a game that

spk_0 particular night.

spk_0 And they've had a couple of not quite a game so far though.

spk_0 So, you know, again, you got to ask a question, how good are they really truly?

spk_0 It's a question I think we're going to keep asking because the schedule is just not that hard.

spk_0 You know, they have a few more premier games like they play the chiefs in a few weeks.

spk_0 They host the Buccaneers later in November.

spk_0 We'll see what the Bengals are at, you know, by early December and then they do play the Eagles

spk_0 late in the season.

spk_0 But I think Buffalo is still going to cruise to like 13 wins even if they're not playing that well.

spk_0 But you could argue this is now what four four times in five games as I, excuse me, just lose my

spk_0 voice here four times in five games that they haven't had their a game.

spk_0 Yeah, I'm counting that that Ravens game where they came back.

spk_0 I still think they're the best team in the AFC combination of quarterback and schedule and

spk_0 and just infrastructure that they have.

spk_0 But it leads into this bigger theme of they're just not.

spk_0 I just, I don't know if there's a team right now where if you're, if you're one of these like second tier

spk_0 type of contenders, you know, if you're the the chargers or the Rams or the Colts or the Broncos or

spk_0 the commanders, like I just, I don't know if you're like that scared of going to Buffalo right now or

spk_0 going to Philly or going to San Francisco or KC or Detroit.

spk_0 I love that we have this parody right now.

spk_0 Like to me, I don't think it's going to happen.

spk_0 But like a bucket years Broncos Super Bowl could happen this year.

spk_0 Like all these teams feel pretty close to each other.

spk_0 I think now might be the time to jump in on some of these like medium long shots to win the Super Bowl.

spk_0 You get the Broncos at 18 to one.

spk_0 You get the bucks at 20 to one like Seattle is 50 to one.

spk_0 Again, what I picked those teams to win it, not necessarily, but it seems feasible.

spk_0 You know, this game specifically sloppy early on for Buffalo.

spk_0 Bills couldn't really run the ball.

spk_0 You know, this was one of those games that was kind of spotlighted as one of the bigger mismatches

spk_0 in terms of one team's running ability versus another team's shakiness against the run.

spk_0 And it was pretty shocking that the degree to which really both teams both run defensive stepped up.

spk_0 Because the Bills run defense hasn't been very good either.

spk_0 And you know, between Henderson and Gibson before he got hurt and Ramondra,

spk_0 the Patriots were like barely getting three yards per carry.

spk_0 James Cook goes 15 for 49 without a double digit rush in this game.

spk_0 I mean, that was every week.

spk_0 Like even even as the bills haven't played all that well,

spk_0 Josh Allen hasn't been playing at last year's level.

spk_0 If nothing else, you could depend on this running game to consistently rip off big plays and move them all.

spk_0 And I thought that was something that you just were kind of waiting and waiting for it to come around.

spk_0 And it just never did.

spk_0 How many times do you see a division rival take away the thing you like to do the most?

spk_0 I mean, I think that's happened a lot.

spk_0 I think the bills will be fine.

spk_0 I think there'll be plenty of bounce back opportunities for them.

spk_0 I'm not super worried about that.

spk_0 I'm trying to let the see who they've got this week there.

spk_0 But they're at the Falcons at the Falcons.

spk_0 I wanted to Monday night games.

spk_0 That's right.

spk_0 Yeah, only three and a half point favorites at ESPN bet four and a half at Draft King.

spk_0 So that's your range right there.

spk_0 Yeah, I still see them as the best team, but definitely not that overwhelming.

spk_0 Every year, Chris, listen, I do a side bet where one of us gets to pick four teams.

spk_0 The other gets the field to win the Super Bowl.

spk_0 Right now, I need a lot more than four teams to pick the four teams side there to specify the

spk_0 teams. Now also, keep in mind, we do this like week 13, week 14 or so is when we do this.

spk_0 But I mean, you see how quickly it changes.

spk_0 The Baltimore Ravens were like the number one or number two betting favorite heading into

spk_0 the season. Now they're one and four staring on the barrel of one and five is a seven and a half

spk_0 defensive players whatsoever. So things can change in a hurry.

spk_0 That is for sure.

spk_0 Still favorite to win their division are the Ravens.

spk_0 And maybe that's a good second to Texans Ravens here.

spk_0 We can go rapid fire through a few more of these games just to hit some fantasy notes.

spk_0 I mean, oh man, this is rough.

spk_0 This is about as badly as it could have gone for Baltimore.

spk_0 I mean, that line was still hanging around like one and a half in favor of Houston.

spk_0 And I think it's staff picks like three or four people were on the Ravens.

spk_0 I'm going to be honest. It's easy to say now. I just didn't really get the case.

spk_0 It's like the Ravens were already bad, like terrible defensively with all of their starters.

spk_0 Then you take away what six starters on the defensive side of the ball.

spk_0 You take away Lamar.

spk_0 And I mean, I thought they put up more of a fight offensively than they did.

spk_0 But I just didn't see a case for the Ravens defense holding up.

spk_0 They gave up 400 or they're giving up.

spk_0 I should say 408 yards per game so far on the season.

spk_0 This was the Ravens worst loss in almost a decade.

spk_0 Worse loss since 2017.

spk_0 They've only lost in the last 15 years, Jeff.

spk_0 I looked this up. They've only lost 16 games by 17 points or more.

spk_0 And two of those have come in the last two weeks.

spk_0 By comparison, in that same span, the jets and the jaguars have lost 58 games

spk_0 by at least 17 points.

spk_0 Like the Ravens just don't get blown out.

spk_0 And there's an obvious reason why this happened this past week.

spk_0 But it's none the less shocking.

spk_0 I mean, they gave up CJ Strauss best fantasy game since week 12 of his rookie season in 2023.

spk_0 And Baltimore just couldn't do anything.

spk_0 First drive, they put up a score and then just nothing.

spk_0 Nothing the rest of the way.

spk_0 Very disappointing game for Woody Marx.

spk_0 If you had told me Houston put up 44 points in a blowout, you would think,

spk_0 oh, probably a lot of Woody Marx, a lot of running the ball.

spk_0 No, seven carries, 24 yards, zero catches on one target.

spk_0 Hard to take much away from this game.

spk_0 The Texans were playing backups at the end,

spk_0 but really disappointing in what should have been a great spot.

spk_0 Yeah, I tweeted it out after doing the rewatch in this.

spk_0 Sometimes the score is not indicative of the game.

spk_0 That it's not as bad as it looked.

spk_0 No, it was every bit as bad as it was out of the scores.

spk_0 It was a completely non competitive game.

spk_0 No pressure whatsoever on CJ Strauss.

spk_0 They also had the weird Mark Andrews cash that turned into an interception thing.

spk_0 They had a lot of that going on.

spk_0 But at the end of the day, I was shocked.

spk_0 I mean, I knew what they were up against the Ravens were.

spk_0 And yet I was shocked at their level of non-competitiveness.

spk_0 I've never seen a John Harbock coach team

spk_0 look this overmatched and just looked at in the water.

spk_0 They just look like they're they're they're they're they're quick almost.

spk_0 I don't want to be a sheep again on the Rams this week,

spk_0 but it's like, how does it not happen again?

spk_0 You know, you got you got a much better team coming off of a devastating loss.

spk_0 Like that Rams aren't going to lay down twice in a row.

spk_0 Right? It's like they're going to be one and five coming out of this.

spk_0 And I you know, there's still 19 to one to win the Super Bowl.

spk_0 They're still favor to win the division.

spk_0 Like there is a path here.

spk_0 You know, thanks to what's going on in Cincinnati and the Browns being the Browns.

spk_0 And nobody believing in the Steelers, but they're going to have to go on a run.

spk_0 They're going to have to get healthy.

spk_0 They're going to have to have, you know, Lamar playing at at a crazy, crazy level.

spk_0 The rest of the way because if they're one and five, I mean,

spk_0 it could really only afford probably what two more slipups.

spk_0 The rest of the year to have any hope to make the postseason in the AFC.

spk_0 And you know, another big fantasy note, which I think this kind of gets lost in just the general disappointment

spk_0 that's been the Ravens.

spk_0 I mean, you got to be panicking right now on Derek Henry man week one 18 carries 169 yards,

spk_0 two touchdowns, five runs of 10 plus yards, 29.2 fantasy points in that game.

spk_0 What have been over 30 had a not been for the fumble weeks two through five.

spk_0 This is four games combined.

spk_0 46 carries 148 yards, one touchdown, three runs that have gone for longer than 10 yards,

spk_0 30.1 total fantasy points over the last four games.

spk_0 Production only chase Brown and your mother could love.

spk_0 It's really bad.

spk_0 But man, Baker Mayfield, CM Donald, really put on a show.

spk_0 Yeah, I think this is going to be one of the more exciting games we see all year, to be honest.

spk_0 Unsurprisingly, neither team was able to run the ball all that effectively.

spk_0 Seattle was pretty good on a per carry basis.

spk_0 Kenneth Walker got loose for a couple big plays.

spk_0 I was big on Rashad White this week as a very, very viable RB2.

spk_0 Wasn't a huge day for him on the ground, but did Rashad White things?

spk_0 You know, 4 for 30 through the air had two rushing touchdowns.

spk_0 Outstab, Shot Tucker, 49 to 13, outcarried him 14 to 3.

spk_0 So we did see some Tucker, but this was pretty firmly Rashad White's backfield.

spk_0 I don't really come out of this game feeling any worse about Seattle.

spk_0 To be honest, either team could have won this game.

spk_0 Very big mistakes by the Seahawks early.

spk_0 They missed a field goal.

spk_0 They had that brutal fumble on the jail in Milro package play where he just pitches it behind Kenneth Walker.

spk_0 Obviously, Ameca Buka just continues to put up monster numbers on relatively limited targets,

spk_0 which is interesting.

spk_0 I mean, he's up to wide receiver three now on the season behind only Puka and Amin Rassem Brown.

spk_0 But he's 23rd in the NFL in team target share of 23%.

spk_0 He's 18th in targets.

spk_0 He's 21st in reception.

spk_0 Like the volume has not really been there.

spk_0 He's not seeing these like 13 14 target games.

spk_0 He's just spent really efficient and ripping off big plays every single week,

spk_0 taking advantage of every opportunity.

spk_0 So it's still interesting to see what that looks like once Mike Evans is back.

spk_0 Chris Godwin was out there again.

spk_0 A ton like he was a week ago.

spk_0 It didn't really do much.

spk_0 It was kind of the Buka show and a lot of check downs for Baker Mayfield and getting

spk_0 stirring shepherd involved as well who's been a long time target of his.

spk_0 On the Seattle side of things, if you need a tight end, I think you have to look at AJ Barner.

spk_0 Seven catches, 53 yards, two touchdowns caught all seven of his

spk_0 targets in this game.

spk_0 And you know, week to week, there's going to be some volatility there.

spk_0 Like any deep tight end, you know, you're talking about touchdown,

spk_0 dependency.

spk_0 Seattle uses three tight ends fairly interchangeably.

spk_0 Barner, Eric Salbert, Elijah Aroio, but Barner's been the guy who's been most dependable week

spk_0 over week played 48 of 60 snaps in this game.

spk_0 Like I said, caught all seven of his targets up to four touchdowns now in the last three weeks.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Very effective red zone guy.

spk_0 And the problem is with like he's like the glob of tight ends, though.

spk_0 He'll get ended up with seven or eight touchdowns on the year probably.

spk_0 Maybe, you know, every once in a while, a tight end has 10 touchdowns one year and they go back

spk_0 to four the next year and Barner strikes me as maybe being that guy.

spk_0 But he's getting him now.

spk_0 He's proven to be reliable there.

spk_0 And the Seattle offense is good enough that he can get that.

spk_0 He's got that upside potential.

spk_0 Like I'd rather have Barner the rest of the way than say John who Smith, who, you know,

spk_0 coming off the buy this week.

spk_0 You know, I'm moving on from John who Smith.

spk_0 That's one of the things I have been doing a little bit there.

spk_0 It was a great week for tight end pickups, by the way.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 Aaron Waller had a huge week.

spk_0 Theo Johnson had two touchdowns.

spk_0 You looked at Mason Taylor very involved in the jets passing off.

spk_0 Yeah.

spk_0 You tied Barner.

spk_0 If you picked him up, did great obviously for you and Tongus for the Niners.

spk_0 Also, a lot of good tight end free agent tight ends this past week.

spk_0 Yeah, 12 more targets this week for Mason Taylor.

spk_0 Nine catches 67 yards.

spk_0 He's now got 25 targets over the last three games,

spk_0 creeping up on a 20% team target share.

spk_0 Still hasn't found the end zone.

spk_0 He's only been targeted twice in the red zone,

spk_0 which is a little bit of a concern.

spk_0 But nine of his 20 catches on the year have gone for double digit yardage.

spk_0 Like he's, he's looking like the legitimate number two option behind

spk_0 Garrett Wilson in that passing game.

spk_0 Theo Johnson now leads all tight ends with eight red zone targets on the season.

spk_0 Well, we'll see how sustainable that is, but some to keep an eye on.

spk_0 And then even in this game that we're talking about, okay,

spk_0 Don, you know, it wouldn't say it went off, but four catches 81 yards on five targets.

spk_0 You'll take that high volume passing day for Tampa Bay.

spk_0 It's not always going to look like that.

spk_0 But you know, there's a stretch in the middle of the last season where where

spk_0 Kate Don was very viable.

spk_0 Yeah, there was there was indeed.

spk_0 Don can Kate the leading fantasy score in tight ends this year.

spk_0 Barely over Jake Ferguson and Tyler Warren.

spk_0 So kind of noteworthy as far as that goes.

spk_0 Jake Ferguson, you and I were both all over him.

spk_0 It's gone beyond our wildest hopes in terms of 48 targets on the year.

spk_0 I mean, if you watch these games that CD Lam went out, they're just, they're running the

spk_0 Jake Ferguson raid.

spk_0 You see in a ton of targets.

spk_0 Yeah, I think that'll regress once one CD is back, which I guess could be as soon as this week.

spk_0 But we'll see on that other tight end news.

spk_0 I just got a notification that Breton Strange is expected to miss about a month

spk_0 before the injury that he sustained last night.

spk_0 So that's a big one.

spk_0 I mean, you're not necessarily starting Breton Strange, but he was,

spk_0 he was to the point where he was rostered in a lot of leagues.

spk_0 He's, he to me is kind of like what Tucker Kraft was last year.

spk_0 Breton Strange is this year like on the cusp of becoming one of those dudes.

spk_0 So this is a tough setback for Jacksonville.

spk_0 I'm not sure there's really a direct pickup here.

spk_0 You know, it's Johnny Munt in Hunter Long or kind of the secondary tight ends for Jacksonville.

spk_0 I guess I would lean toward Hunter Long of those two,

spk_0 but neither of those guys are close to the caliber of Breton Strange.

spk_0 No, but Breton Strange was rosterable.

spk_0 And now he's not obviously.

spk_0 And so if you're looking to pick up,

spk_0 Thomas, or you're looking to pick up one of those other guys we mentioned,

spk_0 you're looking at Barnard's probably still available in a bunch of leagues.

spk_0 He was like 11% roster guest or day when we're looking.

spk_0 Okay, well now you have your clear drop.

spk_0 But if you've got Strange,

spk_0 yeah, okay, that's that's one of the guys you can go pick up after there.

spk_0 I thought lived up to the chaos that I thought it would be.

spk_0 You know, pretty impressive come from behind win for Carolina.

spk_0 Trailed 17 nothing.

spk_0 He got the usual two Bryce Young turnovers early on.

spk_0 Rico Doudal, of course, goes crazy.

spk_0 Played 47 snaps carried or targeted on 26 of those.

spk_0 So what we'll see if that can continue in terms of the usage.

spk_0 If Chuba Hubbard misses another game,

spk_0 you know, kind of the usual for Tep Mcmillan in that one.

spk_0 Still hasn't found the end zone made some big plays.

spk_0 You know, it feels like the the eye test has been better than the fantasy production so far.

spk_0 Not a whole lot in Raiders Colts just another game that got away from the Raiders.

spk_0 And it feels like that team is kind of broken right now.

spk_0 Cowboys jets.

spk_0 Another very weird game.

spk_0 Cowboys put up a ton of points.

spk_0 You know, it wasn't a high target game for George Pickens,

spk_0 but he found the end zone.

spk_0 Ryan Flornoy goes six six catches for 114 yards on nine targets.

spk_0 Now,

spk_0 Quimante Turpin did not play in this one.

spk_0 Yeah, we saw a decent amount of of Tolbert out there.

spk_0 It was targeted only once again.

spk_0 CD could be back in the next week or two.

spk_0 So I wouldn't read too much into that.

spk_0 And unless you got anything on on Lions Bengals or Commander's Chargers,

spk_0 I guess we should touch on Croskey Barrett finally seeing some early game work.

spk_0 And clearly once again, looking like the best back in Washington.

spk_0 Yeah, this is this is finally pushed the needle enough there that we can start

spk_0 bill with confidence.

spk_0 I'm wondering because I think that one's and because let's keep in mind too.

spk_0 The commanders get a run funnel.

spk_0 They get the bears coming to town on Monday night.

spk_0 That should be a very advantageous game.

spk_0 We'll see what after the buy if they fix some of the run defensive issues.

spk_0 But do it is that we finally have enough of a carry share,

spk_0 a snapshot that we can start merit.

spk_0 I hope so.

spk_0 I mean, this was a it was a competitive game until late and it never got

spk_0 totally out of hand.

spk_0 I know the chargers ended up benching some starters,

spk_0 but it wasn't like this was just some sort of garbage time situation for Croskey Marrett.

spk_0 Did it only see a 48% snapshot, but saw an early down snapshot of 64%,

spk_0 which is really encouraging.

spk_0 Again, played on the first two drives of the season, which he had not done until week five.

spk_0 He got the lone goal line carry for the commanders.

spk_0 And you know, he's the big play guy for them.

spk_0 I mean, he was jumping off the screen in the second half of this game.

spk_0 Sure.

spk_0 I hope that Washington six with that.

spk_0 Debo Samuel was great again in that game eight for 96 at a touchdown.

spk_0 I think that could continue so long as Terry McClaurin is out.

spk_0 You know, I think once McClaurin's back, we probably have to knock down Debo a little bit,

spk_0 but really, really good matchup.

spk_0 And actually, I think a sneaky fun game coming up at the late game on Monday night,

spk_0 bears commanders.

spk_0 That should be a very good fantasy matchup for Washington.

spk_0 Yeah, absolutely.

spk_0 Run funnel for sure.

spk_0 And the thing is we got the dueling Monday night games again,

spk_0 a Buffalo Atlanta and Chicago Washington, both on the East Coast this time.

spk_0 So no late start.

spk_0 That will be kind of annoying, but we'll deal with it.

spk_0 I'll still watch both games there.

spk_0 Oh, absolutely.

spk_0 And we'll have, I believe, game two of the ALCS, it gave one of the NLCS going up against those two.

spk_0 So it's going to be more TVs.

spk_0 It's going to be this is going to be a three TV minimum.

spk_0 If you can get your hands on four for Monday, I would encourage you to do so.

spk_0 Dude, I might have to force the issue with our ADU.

spk_0 I'm going to have a new office and I'm going to have three TVs in the new office.

spk_0 May have to force the issue there.

spk_0 Maybe drag something in here.

spk_0 Do it every cat.

spk_0 This is an all hands on deck situation.

spk_0 Absolutely.
