I kind of feel like he's in that, in that mold of start him.

But don't necessarily watch him because he's not an outstanding athlete.

Take some a little while to get open still,

but he's getting a ton of short targets.

Because Justin Fields likes to check down a lot.

And I think it keeps going.

So he's my favorite guy to get.

It would be Kamani Vidal.

A, if I thought that Kamani Vidal was a really talented running back.

And if he was a really talented running back,

he would have been drafted a lot sooner than the sixth round once upon a time.

And B, if I was convinced that he would be the main guy for the Chargers next four weeks,

no questions asked as the main replacement for Amari and Hampton.

But he's second for me.
spk_0
And obviously if you lost Hampton or if you need a running back in general,
spk_0
yes, you can put Kamani Vidal first because he should get an opportunity.
spk_0
But Hassan Haskins is there.
spk_0
He's going to take work away.
spk_0
I do not think Haskins is a top three ad.
spk_0
But he's somebody that I think could end up being helpful in fantasy.
spk_0
I just don't know for how long Kamani Vidal will be helpful in fantasy.

Third is Kendra Miller.
spk_0
It's a long-term play.
spk_0
And he's only available in about a third of CBS leagues.
spk_0
Probably a little bit more on other sites.

But he's eventually going to take over the Saints Backfield.

It's happening.

And he's been playing really well.
spk_0
Double DigiCareers each of the last two weeks should see a lot more at some point by,

I don't know.

Let's call it week nine, week 10.

First of all, Basin Taylor is one of the guys I highlighted is having great matchups.

Now Denver this week, not necessarily a great matchup, although they're usually better
spk_0
against wide receivers than they are tight ends.
spk_0
But then after that Carolina 31st Cincinnati 32nd against tight ends.
spk_0
Those are the matchups for Taylor after Denver.
spk_0
Then they get a buy, then Cleveland, then New England 28th against tight ends and Baltimore 23rd.
spk_0
Baltimore should be a lot healthier by then.
spk_0
I always take tight end fantasy points allowed with the grain of salt,
spk_0
especially early in the season.
spk_0
Really matters who you played.
spk_0
But I think Carolina and Cincinnati are legitimately great matchups.

And that's what Taylor gets in weeks seven and eight.

I don't know if I agree about the Kendrick Miller thing because I don't know, taken over Camara.

But we'll talk about it later.

Jamie, who are your top three waiver wire parties?

Kendrick Gorn is one with the idea of if Ricky Pier saw and Joanne Jennings are out.

We are still in wide receiver hell and what he did last week with Mac Jones and the matchup he
spk_0
has against Tampa Bay. He's easily number one for me.
spk_0
Mason Taylor would be two.
spk_0
The one thing I would caution with Mason Taylor and everything Dave said is right and
spk_0
everything you said about the matchups is right. But you kind of alluded to this.

There's a lot of tight end options this week.
spk_0
It's probably the deepest that we've seen in any position of players that can be helpful for you
spk_0
if you're in a warming situation. So let's just say you're the George Kittle manager that has been
spk_0
sort of going week to week. There's about five guys that you can use this week that I think
spk_0
you can get you by. So you don't necessarily break the bank for Mason Taylor. But if you need a
spk_0
bit more time to do that in long term, I do think Taylor has the most sustainability.
spk_0
If Kenneth Gainwell is allowed there, I would still go get him.
spk_0
There is the report that Jaylen Warren is going to return this week.
spk_0
But we still don't know how this usage is going to look like after what Gainwell did with the
spk_0
best running back performance for the Steelers so far the season.
spk_0
And so the options for the Chargers backfield are clearly the most available to you and
spk_0
potentially the most upside. It's also potentially the biggest mess that we could have of
spk_0
any team this season. And I don't think they're done adding to their backfields. So get ready for
spk_0
the Gus Edwards signing that's going to happen at some point this week. So Vidal is my preferred
spk_0
choice of the Chargers guys. But it might be Haskins. And that's just going to make you vomit.

The only thing I think that's encouraging for the Chargers short term is who they play in week six.
spk_0
And that's the Miami Dolphins. So hopefully whoever gets the majority of touches does well with
spk_0
them. And then we have that guy for the next three games. If that's the length of time that
spk_0
Hampton is going to miss, I hope it's not more than the four games. But for this week, I think
spk_0
if you end up chasing the wrong Chargers running back and spending too much fab on that particular
spk_0
guy, you're going to be a little bit upset. Well, I have two questions about Michael Carter. One of
spk_0
them is how do you feel about Vidal right now compared to whoever your favorite Cardinals running
spk_0
back was last week? I felt much better about Carter because they have used him in this role before.
spk_0
We saw last year when JK Dobbins was injured and Gus Edwards was doing nothing. They didn't even
spk_0
give Vidal a chance. And so the concern is, is that do they trust him? You know, for a guy that's been
spk_0
on the practice squad and Haskins is a guy that Harbock coach in college. Like does he get the
spk_0
opportunity to be the lead guy? So we had two drives in the game against the commanders with Hampton
spk_0
sideline. And the playing time was 60, 40 in favor of Vidal. They had the same amount of carries.
spk_0
They had the same amount of catches. The route participation was one in favor of Vidal.
spk_0
So like there's no real clear cut. One is more is going to be more involved than the other.
spk_0
And so it could be, I'm sorry to cut you off, Jamie. Were you done? No, go ahead.

All right. I feel like Vidal is Carter and Haskins is De Mercado. But Haskins is a worst version of
spk_0
De Mercado and Vidal is a worst version of Carter. And if they don't, they've got to running back on
spk_0
the practice squad that I want to bring up his name is a Mar Johnson, whose short, small, fast,
spk_0
decent pass catcher had a good preseason in Green Bay. I don't know if they promote him
spk_0
or they go and sign another running back off the street or whatever. But I do feel like he could end
spk_0
up. I think he's like an interesting dynasty sash. And it kind of breaks my heart that I have to
spk_0
say that on the air because I don't want Jamie or anybody else in our dynasty league to go and pick
spk_0
him up. I want to get on our team up. He's got to be the lawyers. Yeah. Okay. Good. But I don't
spk_0
even know if he's going to end up being a thing. But that's a deep dynasty sash. If the Chargers don't
spk_0
add anybody, I would suspect that they they move him into the act of roster. And doesn't mean he's
spk_0
going to get every single carry. But if they don't like Vidal and Haskins is a slug man like he's
spk_0
good in past protection. And he played three of five third downs that they had after Hampton got
spk_0
hurt last week. I just I don't see it. I'd be really surprised of Haskins ended up being their
spk_0
main back. Vidal had all their snaps inside the tent. They had three of them against commanders after
spk_0
Hampton's injury. And Vidal had them all. I'm not excited about the talent. But as we know,
spk_0
opportunity matters the most. And I think Vidal as long as the Chargers don't add anybody else. They
spk_0
don't sign us Edwards, etc. I think Vidal gets the better opportunity. Yeah. Right. And I think
spk_0
people were not that excited about Michael Carter. But then you see him go out and get almost every
spk_0
touch and get a score of touchdown and have five catches. They throw to their running back.
spk_0
They really humble at the goal line. Yeah. They they have they throw to their running back.
spk_0
I mean, I'm already in Hampton was getting a lot of work in the passing game. So I could see even if
spk_0
you're not that excited about Vidal remember it's it's at least four weeks for Hampton. They haven't
spk_0
given us a timetable here that I've seen. And we've got only two teams on by this week two teams
spk_0
on by next week. But it's Baltimore and Buffalo. So you got to must start running back space. Well,
spk_0
we thought too much that running back. And then you got to buy NATO after that with six teams on
spk_0
by right. You got to get through at running back. So I think Vidal is going to be probably the most
spk_0
data players only one person. Oh, I think they both well. I mean, again, you're running waivers on
spk_0
Tuesday. You're not going to hear a peep from the Chargers unless there's a signing about who's
spk_0
better than the other. Who's going to get more work than the other? You know, I would be very
spk_0
surprised if anybody covering that team. No disrespect to them has that information.
spk_0
Said to them. So we're not going to know until they probably get on the practice field. And
spk_0
you get the, oh, here's the guy taking the first rep. And then the next time through their
spk_0
drills, it could be a flip flop of who it is. So the only thing I would caution is like
spk_0
Carter was worth spending some money on. This to me is not one of those type of situations. You
spk_0
know, you could be buying a flex because it's the dolphins. And it might be both of them. It might
spk_0
be what it is. We're still talking about a terrible offensive line. We're still talking about a
spk_0
quarterback who in the first three weeks of the season was their leading rusher and just had a 60
spk_0
yard rushing game. Like this is going to fall a lot on Justin Herbert. And so this is not,
spk_0
you know, run run game that's going to come in and support this team. This is going to be run
spk_0
game that's going to come in and supplement whatever they're able to accomplish because it could
spk_0
be ugly. Like this could be the best dolphins run defense performance that we see because these
spk_0
guys are so bad. Okay. So my other question about my, oh, wait, I don't know if I,
spk_0
Dave's top three with Mason Taylor, Kamani Videll, Kendrick Miller. Jamie's was Kendrick
spk_0
born Mason Taylor, Videll. No, it was Ken's game. Ken, game well. Okay. Sorry. I don't know if we
spk_0
ever got to that. All right. So, game well, even though he did say that, and even though Jaylen
spk_0
Warren, there was a report that he's expected to play. There are there be reporters that say that
spk_0
Warren will not only be back, but still have the feature role. Okay. So you want to disagree
spk_0
with Jamie. I don't disagree with Jamie at all. Like I've got game well on a couple of teams and
spk_0
I am not going to cut him unless I am desperate for a roster spot. Okay. So my next question is,
spk_0
if Rico doubtal and Michael Carter are available, how does that change things? Because Rico
spk_0
doubtal is 59% rostered on ESPN and Yahoo. Rico is 71% rostered on sleeper. Michael Carter,
spk_0
I mean, we talk the waiver wires based on guys who are rostered in 65% of leagues or less.
spk_0
Michael Carter is 66% rostered. So he's very much available in CBS leagues and then 39%
spk_0
rostered on Yahoo, 42% rostered on ESPN, 59% on sleeper. That's Michael Carter. So Jamie,
spk_0
if Rico doubtal and Michael Carter are part of this discussion, then what are your top three priorities?
spk_0
Yeah. Dotto would be one overall or running back overall. Dotto would be one. Carter would be
spk_0
two and then Kendrick Bortner would be three. Dave.
spk_0
So doubtal one, Carter two, Taylor three. And the only reason why I don't have Kendrick born in my
spk_0
top three is because I'm thinking a little bit more long term. Plus there's the chance that some
spk_0
guys come back this week for the 49ers and born loses that upside that we saw on Thursday.

Can I make the case that Carter should be ahead of doubtal just because you've got another at least
spk_0
three games of Michael Carter as the start Michael starter? I would take the one game scenario of
spk_0
Rico doubtal this week versus the three game scenario of Michael Carter to be honest with you
spk_0
because you know that was going to have a good game against the Cowboys. But we don't know
spk_0
that. You buzz out. Do we? We don't know for sure. Okay. I'll be free. If we know that Rico
spk_0
that we know the two of our hovers out this week, which is what it seems like. Yeah.

I said, what did I say he was week to week? And I'd be very surprised if after what he did knowing
spk_0
that he's playing his former team and what Dave can all of a sudden at Monday's press are about how
spk_0
they may have to split touches between the two of them, which was happening already.
spk_0
Like this just feels like he's going to give him the opportunity to play well in this.
spk_0
Given the opportunity to get touches in this game, whether he plays well or not is hard to say.
spk_0
But like Carter could easily have three miserable games. Yeah. He makes me nervous.

Yeah. He doesn't play Tennessee anymore. It's Indianapolis, Green Bay, then a buy.

Now he does have Dallas. That could be good. And then after that, we could start seeing.

Oh, no. Yeah. After that, I believe Benson's eligible to return.

As much as he makes me nervous, I would start him over Derek Henry and Almond Camartha.

Yeah. Indianapolis's run defense isn't really that great. They're allowing four and a half yards per

carry. I think six best against. And if I catch like he's going to be involved.

Hope so. I just sure. But it's not impressive. It's not going to be like last week.

that they're dealing with in the case of pierce-all and in the injuries for Jennings that continue

to mount up. Like we could see him still in a prominent role, but we've seen these type of receivers

come and go throughout the course of the first five weeks of the season. So 10% at most.
