spk_0 Well, welcome into episode six 81 of After the whistle. Are you hung over my hungover?
spk_0 Yeah, are you hungry? No. Sunday night bills game last night. I assume you're, you know, you were up all day.
spk_0 Crushing crown and facing bets. No, no, no, no bets.
spk_0 Fantasy football. All that shit. How was your Sunday?
spk_0 The Sunday was great. I was in Rochester early morning.
spk_0 Left the boats. Seven, seven, thirty. My daughter had a soccer tournament in Rochester.
spk_0 Oh, great. And that, oh, it's great. Love watching it. Love watching soccer.
spk_0 So it was, it was great. They had three quick games and we were back by one.
spk_0 There's such thing as a quick soccer game. Soccer game could be 25 minutes. It's, uh,
spk_0 it's still not quick to me. Okay.
spk_0 What'd you do for the game last night at the bills game? I really enjoy watching the games at home,
spk_0 whether it's hockey, whether it's football, it's the commentating for me. It's, it's, you know,
spk_0 no lineups to the bathroom. No people sitting beside you. The foods 15 feet away. Yeah, that's,
spk_0 exactly, that's exactly it. So, um, we, uh, we, uh, pretty cool to see the white out though.
spk_0 You know, did you see who was at the game last night? See who went down and rolled onto the field
spk_0 before the game and walked in with, uh, Terry Pagula. Yep.
spk_0 Oh, the Rasmus dolly. Rasmus dolly. The old cross promotion. Well, the sea abor season starts
spk_0 this, this week, right? So, yeah, you know, you got to get the fans hyped about that. They're
spk_0 giving away $29 tickets. They're giving tickets away. So I'm hoping that it's a sold out ring for
spk_0 the players, uh, sake, but, but, uh, Dahlene was down there. So I wonder if he sits with him during
spk_0 the game and just kind of like after six or seven beers turns to, I don't think so. There's no way.
spk_0 Just try to sit there. Fine. Or just if he has the courage while he's walking into him,
spk_0 just to kind of turn him and say, Hey, and then like he takes on this angry like British accent.
spk_0 He's like, I owe man. If we don't get our shit together this year, I'm out of here. And then
spk_0 just kind of like walks away and goes and throws a football with. Okay. Probably Dawson. What's the
spk_0 reasoning for the English accent? I don't know. It just sounds angry. You're that a Swedish accent.
spk_0 So Mr. Pagula, I'm wondering if, um, if things don't go too well this year, uh,
spk_0 would you mind the, uh, uh, interesting me in, uh,
spk_0 terrible accent. I can't do accents. I lived in Sweden. I can't do a Swedish accent. Yeah.
spk_0 I don't know. You're not Swedish. That's terrible. But, but I am. I'm not Swedish, but I can't finish.
spk_0 You know what I mean? Okay. Craigs and serious mood. Let's go. Sabers are going to what,
spk_0 finish second in the division. Is that what I'm reading? It's an unknown. I mean, after all these
spk_0 years and a lot of these players in this roster, it's an unknown. Yeah. Jack Quinn's still an unknown.
spk_0 You know, well, Justin Danforth is an unknown and we don't know. Josh Dohn is an unknown.
spk_0 We don't really know. Eric Kulik looks, looks solid. He looks solid. He's been injured, uh,
spk_0 throughout training camp, but he looks solid. We still don't know what we're going to get from him.
spk_0 He's only 21 years old. He should not be dealing with a ton of pressure.
spk_0 Um, but we need him to perform. Is he going to start as the second or third line center?
spk_0 Uh, I don't know. I would, I would imagine probably a third line center. It looks like Josh Norris
spk_0 will play with Tate Thompson and, um, Zach Benson. There's your number one line, Sun Deniable.
spk_0 Second line, I think they had, um, a cloud with, uh, Tuck and Zucker.
spk_0 Whoever's playing with Tuck is going to be your second line. That's undeniable.
spk_0 And then then you got a younger line. You got a Yari Kulik with, um, uh, Jack Quinn and, uh, Josh
spk_0 Don't don't know where that's going to stop there. What's the fourth line? Well, right now you
spk_0 have Peyton Crabbs, probably Danforth and Malinstein. Greenways out. Greenways out. Yeah.
spk_0 You might see, uh, Gertzin in there, Mason Gertzin. Could he play Matt Rampay in the lineup
spk_0 for, uh, the New York Rangers. Is that, is that something that you?
spk_0 Want to give him an opportunity to absolutely. I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I, I want to see
spk_0 what he's made of. I mean, he's here for that. And this is kind of the game that you want to have
spk_0 him in here for, for a guy like rampay to be like, okay, I get out of my hands full tonight with
spk_0 this kid Gertzin. And he has to go in research him and he has to start to think about him and,
spk_0 and Gertson needs to know that Rampay is gonna be more worried about him than he realizes.
spk_0 And these are all factors that you need to have
spk_0 and you have last decision on the roster. So
spk_0 you gotta see what the Rangers are doing and if they have him in the lineup Rampay, which I think you'll 100% play
spk_0 you have to have somebody in there to offset it if you want to.
spk_0 You gotta have him in there. He's a fourth line left-winger. That's what he is.
spk_0 Um, he could play five minutes a night. That's it.
spk_0 That's all he needs to play.
spk_0 It's the way I look at it is, you know, play play, uh, play some, uh, you know, Zach Benson gives
spk_0 Zach Benson an extra shift or Jason Zucker or someone like that. Give him an extra shift.
spk_0 That's, uh, that's all we need.
spk_0 You know, I look at, I look at Gertson. They brought him in here. He's a very, very tough customer and
spk_0 he would play against certain teams in this league, not all of them because not all teams are, are built the same.
spk_0 But, you know, when you go into Florida and now all of a sudden you get into a shit match and you got Alex
spk_0 talk that has to go and fight the tough guy for, for Florida, that should never happen again.
spk_0 You should learn from your mistakes and they've made mistakes here in Buffalo building this roster.
spk_0 Um, but that should never happen again. That's why you bring in certain players like
spk_0 Gertson that, you know what, he's not going to play a ton, but when he does, he will be a factor for your team.
spk_0 That's it. So there's your forward lineup. What do you got on the back end for opening night?
spk_0 Well, I mean, it's just so disheartening.
spk_0 To be honest, when you, when you have a, this shiny new toy in Michael Kessler and I was so excited to have
spk_0 this young man start the season with the Buffalo Sabers on the right note and he goes out and he's injured.
spk_0 Along with like so many others like Matthias Samuelson.
spk_0 I don't know the, I don't know the exact parents.
spk_0 I would imagine that you're going to have Dalline play with Byron.
spk_0 You'll probably have, I would put maybe, uh,
spk_0 Connor Timmans with Owen Power.
spk_0 And then you're going to have like a, most likely a Jacob Bryson and Ryan Johnson.
spk_0 And you don't have UPL to start the season. You're going to go with, uh, you're, you haven't lion.
spk_0 Good thing. Yeah. Listen, can I tell you something? It's just, it's just good thing.
spk_0 You want to get the goalies. Yeah.
spk_0 You know, sometimes with things like this, like an Alex lion who played so well, uh, years and years ago for, um,
spk_0 you know, the Florida Panthers played very, very well in the end of that, uh, and in the ending of that season, he played quite well.
spk_0 And the last two years in, in, in Detroit, he was solid.
spk_0 Um, he's going to be in a situation that, uh, he's going to get, he's going to get games.
spk_0 He's going to get games that he needs to take advantage of until, you know,
spk_0 the health of, of certain players on this team can get back to 100% and,
spk_0 you know, starting a season without, uh, UPL, that's tough.
spk_0 That's, that's a, that's a, that's a tough blow to the team.
spk_0 I think it's a tough blow to the team without Kessel Ring and possibly Sam Wilson.
spk_0 Uh, those are, those are big blows because the defense core
spk_0 in which was put together by Kevin Adams on paper looked absolutely fantastic.
spk_0 I was so excited about the start of the season and then all of a sudden, yeah,
spk_0 we'll power go down with tweaking and injury.
spk_0 I don't know if it's a new one or old one, but, uh, you know, there's, there's guys that are just kind of, um,
spk_0 you know, beat up a bit and the season hasn't even started, which, um,
spk_0 puts a lot of pressure on, on, on other players.
spk_0 Here's what sucks about all that is because who knows what can happen because the puck hasn't even been dropped yet.
spk_0 So I mean, they could surprise us, but it sounds like, you know, they already have their excuses ready for next year.
spk_0 If things don't go well, you know, we started the first month of the season without this guy and that guy and look at every team in the league.
spk_0 I know. Well, we'll say every team in the league is dealing with the same thing.
spk_0 So that this is not an excuse.
spk_0 This is not something where we're going to go into this and say, Hey, you know, we've lost a certain amount of games.
spk_0 This is the reason why because our guys are injured.
spk_0 There's other teams dealing with the same thing.
spk_0 A lot of teams seem to be dealing with, uh, injuries.
spk_0 To me, which just kind of had scratching a little bit is, you know, you got Zach Benson, Greenway, you got Owen Power, Kesslering,
spk_0 Ukepeca Luka and it shows up not even to training camp.
spk_0 He just shows up to a debuff from Sweden and he's got issues.
spk_0 Samuel Sin is injured once again, which is, is mind blowing to me.
spk_0 It really is when you have four and a half months, five months to train to make sure your body is 100%
spk_0 ready to go for a start of the season and you come in and you're here for, it's not even a training camp.
spk_0 These training camps last what two days and then you're into games and you're, you're tweaking something already.
spk_0 That's, that's just not a good sign.
spk_0 It's not a good sign.
spk_0 That being said, all these players need to put that behind them.
spk_0 They can't look at what they don't have.
spk_0 They have to look at what they have and they, and they still have some good players in this lineup.
spk_0 But it's going to be interesting to see how they start the season and see if how long it's going to take before their full roster is together.
spk_0 Couple moves here.
spk_0 They're great in the off season, but you have no depth.
spk_0 There's no depth that forward.
spk_0 There's no, there was no, there was no backup plan for losing Jordan, Greenway.
spk_0 Is it amazing that the depth that forward are all young, young players.
spk_0 They're basically the oslins, they're the, the, the, well, Rosen, I wouldn't even consider it young anymore.
spk_0 Like he's played a number of years in the minors.
spk_0 He should be the guy that should be, you know, trying to salivate and steal a job.
spk_0 Like when you have openings, the guys in the minors, this is their opportunity.
spk_0 The depth now becomes the issue and listen, like I said to you, 10 games.
spk_0 You got to give it 10 games because a lot can happen after 10 games.
spk_0 You can turn it around and go on a run, but your first 10 games will be telling of what you see as a team.
spk_0 Now, now do you think that it's fair?
spk_0 Do you think it's fair even after 10 games and let's say like Kessel Ring does not play in in a number of those games or even
spk_0 Ucapacolucan or, you know, Matias Samuelson.
spk_0 Like is it fair to say even after 10 games that this is, this is what our thoughts are of the team?
spk_0 Because I think Kessel Ring when he's healthy and and and Matias Samuelson when he's healthy, when Jordan Greenway is healthy in this lineup,
spk_0 I think that they will help this team win.
spk_0 So it's hard just in these 10 games, it's just unfortunate that we're going into the season with multiple injuries out of training camp.
spk_0 It's kind of like head scratching.
spk_0 All this injury talk has me thinking about one thing, Salino Law.
spk_0 These guys weren't hurting a car accident, so I can't give them the number, but I can give you the number.
spk_0 If you're hurting a car accident, need a personal injury attorney.
spk_0 It's really easy.
spk_0 It's one number.
spk_0 It's 8888888888 car crash call Salino Law.
spk_0 I know we talk about it often, but seems like it's going to be the conversation as the season starts.
spk_0 Alex talk is starting the season without a contract.
spk_0 What's the worst scenario in this particular negotiation?
spk_0 Is it the team sucking or would it be Alex talk under producing?
spk_0 I think Alex talk is going to get paid on the open market right now.
spk_0 He's not on the open market right now.
spk_0 He is owned by the Buffalo Sabers.
spk_0 He is owned.
spk_0 He makes 4.75, which what he's done in the last number of years since he's come to Buffalo.
spk_0 He is he has been underpaid, which is awesome for the Sabers.
spk_0 This is what you want.
spk_0 Like you want to you want to have a player that that overperforms their contract.
spk_0 Exactly.
spk_0 And Alex talk has done that.
spk_0 And that's and no one's winning this.
spk_0 Like Alex talk's still making millions and millions of dollars.
spk_0 Should he be making more with what he does?
spk_0 Absolutely.
spk_0 But that's the contract he signed.
spk_0 And when he signed it, it was an awesome contract.
spk_0 Both sides fell great just like Tage Thompson.
spk_0 Tage Thompson should be making probably 11, 12 million dollars in this in this new era of signings.
spk_0 But guess what?
spk_0 He's making seven and he should be happy with seven.
spk_0 Should he make more?
spk_0 Yes.
spk_0 But it's a great contract by Kevin Adams and the Buffalo Sabers.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 But we're talking about a talk that could go to an unrestricted free agency and the season is starting.
spk_0 These negotiations, Pety can get done.
spk_0 Like literally overnight.
spk_0 A contract to this magnitude is a big contract.
spk_0 But when you have two sides that are pushing for the same goal, it can get done very quickly.
spk_0 Do I do I think it's going to happen?
spk_0 No, I don't think it's going to happen quickly.
spk_0 Not at all.
spk_0 Because I think I don't think that there's any pressure points for both sides.
spk_0 That's that's the problem.
spk_0 If Alex Tuck did not have a contract and he was just a just say a free agent,
spk_0 restrictive free agent, Alex Tuck, there'd be more pressure on Kevin Adams and more pressure on on Alex Tuck to sign a contract.
spk_0 Because there's a couple days before the opening season, blah, blah, blah, all this kind of stuff.
spk_0 But there's none of that Alex Tuck can wait.
spk_0 This this can go all the way to March just before the deadline.
spk_0 There's no pressure on either side.
spk_0 You have Alex Tuck locked up for a full year.
spk_0 Now you're if you're going to trade him and you can't come to an agreement and you just don't like the direction of the team.
spk_0 Maybe Terry Pagula doesn't want to pay him.
spk_0 Maybe he doesn't want to pay him because maybe Terry Pagula wants to sit back and see
spk_0 how this season goes because what if the Sabers don't have a good season?
spk_0 What if they falter again in their pursuit to making the playoffs?
spk_0 You could see you could see like there's going to be a point in time.
spk_0 I'm telling you this that Rasmus D'Ali and Tage Thompson who have been here going into their eight years that it's just time to move on.
spk_0 And I and I don't want I don't want to bring that up because that's not what we're talking about.
spk_0 We're talking about a fresh start, a new beginning, an awesome season that's going to be ahead of us.
spk_0 But there's a lot that goes in to this this season for the Sabers because if they don't do very well,
spk_0 then what's going to happen with Kevin Adams?
spk_0 What's going to happen with Lindy Ruff?
spk_0 They're all on the last year of their deals.
spk_0 And I mean, this thing could be blown up.
spk_0 And do you think Alex Tuck wants to sign a brand new contact, contract and be a part of that?
spk_0 I would think that that is the number one thing right now because Alex Tuck's going to get paid.
spk_0 He's going to get paid either here in Buffalo or he's going to get paid someplace else.
spk_0 But I think that he's waiting.
spk_0 I think he's the one who said in front of the media that I love Buffalo.
spk_0 I love this organization.
spk_0 All the boys in the room.
spk_0 I'm here to support them.
spk_0 He said, I'm here to do what I can do to win hockey games.
spk_0 That's his focus.
spk_0 That is that it's true.
spk_0 But at the end of the day, he's also thinking to myself,
spk_0 I'm not signing a long term deal here if this thing's going to go south again.
spk_0 So it's going to be interesting to see what happens.
spk_0 There's a lot of eyes, not just here in Buffalo, but around the whole NHL
spk_0 that are going to be watching the sabers to start the season.
spk_0 And we were wrong about Merca.
spk_0 Merca couldn't have gone to college.
spk_0 I think that window had closed when we were talking about it.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 So I thought that was important to mention that we were wrong about that.
spk_0 But we were wrong about a lot of things.
spk_0 Speaking of which, where is Merca?
spk_0 He's in the minors.
spk_0 It's restrain.
spk_0 That's that will be determined.
spk_0 I think I don't think they've made any decision on it.
spk_0 Probably give him a little bit more time down there to
spk_0 get acclimated and maybe play in a couple games in the minors to see kind of
spk_0 where where he fits in amongst that group of players.
spk_0 That's kind of the way I would I would see things.
spk_0 Like I don't think it's paved in stone that he is going to stay in the minors.
spk_0 I don't think they've made that decision yet.
spk_0 I'm sure they've seen enough of him to have a pretty good idea of
spk_0 of what they want to do with him.
spk_0 You could send this kid back to junior.
spk_0 He's you know he's a massive kid.
spk_0 Skates exceptionally well.
spk_0 You could go and have him go and play
spk_0 damn near 25 minutes a night in junior.
spk_0 Going to have him run the power play.
spk_0 Be on the penalty kill.
spk_0 Not that he would have pressure.
spk_0 But just haven't played a ton and just continue to mature and get better.
spk_0 That's one way of looking at it.
spk_0 Or you could put him in an environment which is a much much much bigger step up
spk_0 than playing in junior hockey is put him in the minors.
spk_0 And I look at him in the minors.
spk_0 I think he'll be in the I think he'd be in a top four position.
spk_0 Like he's not going to be like six defenseman.
spk_0 He's going to be in the top four.
spk_0 But listen, he'll be in the lineup at some point this year in Buffalo.
spk_0 You watch he will get games this year in Buffalo.
spk_0 Mark my words.
spk_0 Well, I mean you're you're you're certainly hoping that you you don't see him
spk_0 because if you don't see him, it means that we're staying healthy and things are
spk_0 are are going in the right direction up up top.
spk_0 But if we're seeing him, it means that we're we've got injuries.
spk_0 And that's not a good thing.
spk_0 They are giving away tickets.
spk_0 They are desperate to get this building filled.
spk_0 They're certainly trying to get the fans back into the seats.
spk_0 And if you have to have cheap tickets to do so so people kind of get back and see the
spk_0 environment and see, you know, maybe things are going to change.
spk_0 I think the home opener is a must win.
spk_0 Sorry if that's too much pressure.
spk_0 But yeah, the reality is is that you got to get your fans excited.
spk_0 Yeah, you got to hear the goal song like six times.
spk_0 Whatever it is.
spk_0 I'm not even commenting on that either.
spk_0 By the way, as bad as that choice is going to be, I'm not saying anything about it.
spk_0 Just play it a lot.
spk_0 Did you see the Boston Bruins are retiring?
spk_0 Zadano Charis number 33.
spk_0 Very well deserved.
spk_0 In all the years that I played, I you know, I had an opportunity to play against, you know,
spk_0 probably probably my childhood kind of idol.
spk_0 I had two of them.
spk_0 One was Scott Stevens.
spk_0 And one was Paul Coffey played against Ray Bork.
spk_0 I mean, I played I played against some of the greatest
spk_0 defenseman in NHL history.
spk_0 And I will tell you this that in all the players that I played against,
spk_0 Zadano Charis to me was the number one toughest opponent for my team to play against.
spk_0 He was it the size, the skating,
spk_0 the defense, the physicality, the anger,
spk_0 the power play specialist like he did everything.
spk_0 He was the perfect prototypical defenseman.
spk_0 One of the greatest to ever play this game.
spk_0 It's so well deserved.
spk_0 It's not surprising.
spk_0 A lot of battles against that guy as a Saber, you know, when he was with Ottawa and then obviously
spk_0 when he went to Boston, I played against him.
spk_0 He was I was only in the East and he was only in the East.
spk_0 So for six years,
spk_0 I was in the lineup a lot against Zadano Charis.
spk_0 I there were I challenged him to fight a couple times.
spk_0 He was obviously not he was not afraid, but I think you circumstances of the game where we
spk_0 were losing and I'm just trying to like do something stupid to, you know, get the boys fired up.
spk_0 You know what I mean?
spk_0 You're like, there you go.
spk_0 There's a good idea.
spk_0 I remember a guy in the bench said to me one night, I was going out of with Chara behind the
spk_0 play coming up the ice and I come off and the guy goes, that would have been a good trade off,
spk_0 you know, getting him off the ice for five minutes.
spk_0 At what cost does that come at just to get him off the ice for five minutes?
spk_0 That's how good he was.
spk_0 Getting him off the ice for five minutes.
spk_0 If you can survive a fight against the guy, that was an advantage to your team.
spk_0 Zadano Char for five minutes.
spk_0 The only guy I ever saw run him over was Patty Coletta.
spk_0 Like actually run him over and we used to take runs at him all the time.
spk_0 In fact, I have a great picture of me actually burying him at the blue line and I came off the
spk_0 bench and the puck got rimmed to the left wing and I charged over to him and I hit him right
spk_0 on the just on the back side of the shoulder and I took the big man down.
spk_0 The puck is there.
spk_0 It's in the picture.
spk_0 You know, Chara's on his on his laying on his side and I remember after I hit him,
spk_0 I had to look all the way down the boards to the ref at the other end to see if he was calling
spk_0 me for a boarding call.
spk_0 That's how on the line this thing was.
spk_0 But yeah, well think of how many times
spk_0 guys were trying to do that to him.
spk_0 Like I mean, this was the guy he was the guy you wanted to run over.
spk_0 He was so big, he was probably in better shape than 99% of all players in the national
spk_0 hockey league.
spk_0 He trained something obsessive in the off season and during the season.
spk_0 So his strength was just something
spk_0 unhuman to to any way.
spk_0 He was he was a crazy condition.
spk_0 His conditioning was insane.
spk_0 And you know what he he evolved as a player too.
spk_0 Like when he came into the league with the islanders, he was just this great big massive like we've
spk_0 never seen guys like this in the league.
spk_0 Like we never we've never seen a guy like you know like you look at the big guys that played in
spk_0 the league, the super the super tough guys back in the day, the Bob Proberts and this in
spk_0 this new Grimson's and guys like that.
spk_0 They were 64 right.
spk_0 The day the chariot was what six nine.
spk_0 Six nine.
spk_0 He was just a massive massive human being.
spk_0 When he came into the league, he was a little bit kind of on the bamby side of things.
spk_0 But the more he played, the better he got.
spk_0 He developed himself into where he could have easily been thrown into a fighting situation.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 And just become that style of player in the NHL at the time.
spk_0 He he evolved himself into one of the one of the best defensemen all around the
spk_0 in the history of the game defensively and offensively put up 40, 50 points a year.
spk_0 He could fight anyone in the league.
spk_0 He was probably the best defender defending defenseman in the NHL.
spk_0 And he was super insanely physical.
spk_0 He he took liberties with with forwards that came to the front of the net.
spk_0 And I just remember guys like Sakukoivu talking about like the abuse that he would take from
spk_0 the cross checks from the Dana chara.
spk_0 He certainly Thomas Vannick used to come in after games the next day and he would just be like,
spk_0 can we just give him a hundred million dollars and buy him out of the league?
spk_0 Just get him out of the league.
spk_0 He goes, it's not good for the players.
spk_0 It was hilarious listening to him complain about chara.
spk_0 I was playing for New Jersey and David Clarkson came out to block a shot from chara.
spk_0 And he turned like turned his feet sideways to kind of make himself a little bigger.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Right off the outside of the ankle shattered his ankle.
spk_0 Could hear his ankle break.
spk_0 Unbelievable slap shot this guy took.
spk_0 Nathan Pesh I think has still has a helmet with a dent on it that he kept because
spk_0 the Dana chara took a slap shot and hit Pesh right in the head.
spk_0 It dented his helmet.
spk_0 Well, give me give me your three.
spk_0 I think he had chara sign it.
spk_0 There's three guys, Pety.
spk_0 There's three guys in my recollection that shot the puck harder than anybody in the league.
spk_0 And I'm not going back to the Almaganess because Almagan is the one who's talking.
spk_0 You're talking Shayweber because you talk about Pock's whizzing past your head when absolutely
spk_0 you're killing penalties.
spk_0 I could have died.
spk_0 I could chara chara's the other one.
spk_0 Chara and there's one more probably harder shot than both of them.
spk_0 Surprise you didn't get this.
spk_0 He's one he won hard shot competition I think.
spk_0 Every year he's he's had the hardest shot in the league for.
spk_0 I just keep picturing Shayweber.
spk_0 Got a little bit of a shell that's Surrey.
spk_0 Oh well yeah.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Anyway, in very impressive, I'm you know, it does not surprise me that he's getting his
spk_0 jersey retired.
spk_0 Probably one of the best players that I ever played against.
spk_0 Great guy too.
spk_0 I don't know if you know him at all, but he's an awesome guy.
spk_0 Very charitable.
spk_0 Great with kids, takes pictures, all that stuff, but just you know, deep down like just a hard
spk_0 nose competitor does.
spk_0 I don't believe he ever wants to hurt anybody, but I think he knows that if push comes
spk_0 a shove, he's willing to do whatever he has to do.
spk_0 The highlight of Zadano Chara when I was younger was him just throwing Brian McCabe around
spk_0 when he played for the Toronto Maple Leafs.
spk_0 If you ever go and watch this fight and then he fought a guy David Kosi from Chicago
spk_0 and his the guy's face exploded.
spk_0 Then he also gave Eric Karen's a major concussion.
spk_0 I don't know if you remember that fight either when Karen's with with was with
spk_0 Pittsburgh, but Chara was in the league of his own undercover.
spk_0 One of the greatest defenseman ever play.
spk_0 So right.
spk_0 All right, that'll do it for after the whistle.
spk_0 You can follow us on Twitter.
spk_0 We're after the whistle and we also have an Instagram account that occasionally we
spk_0 will send something out from, but not too often.
spk_0 Thanks for listening everyone.
