Welcome everyone to the Monday edition of Fair Territory.
spk_0
I'm Ken Rosenthal coming from New York City right now getting ready for tonight's broadcast
spk_0
of Game 3 of the Division series Yankees, Blue Jays, Blue Jays leading to nothing.
spk_0
But of course I want to start off with last night's proceedings and particularly the
spk_0
proceedings in Philadelphia where the Dodgers took a two games to unlead for three victory
spk_0
over the Phillies.
spk_0
We are steamrolling toward a potential Dodgers, Brewers, and LCS.
spk_0
Both teams, the Dodgers and Brewers leading their respective division series, two games
spk_0
to none.
spk_0
And a Dodgers Brewers, NLCS would be Big Market versus Small Market.
spk_0
It would be in the eyes of some referendum on whether the sport needs a souring cap.
spk_0
But let's not get into all that just yet.
spk_0
We have some more fun to discuss regarding these two series.
spk_0
And of course the two American League Division series going on as well.
spk_0
The Dodgers all regular season I found to be frustrating.
spk_0
I thought they were coasting.
spk_0
I wondered like a lot of people, including their manager Dave Roberts, whether they would
spk_0
be able to turn it on at the appropriate time.
spk_0
I guess we have our answer.
spk_0
They won nine straight games including the first two of this series, 13 of 15.
spk_0
The starting pitching looks like nothing else in the sport right now.
spk_0
So dominant.
spk_0
And we've seen that in these first two games in Philadelphia.
spk_0
They took those two.
spk_0
They had that frantic bottom of the night last night.
spk_0
The hold on which started with Blake Trinon, kind of a hard decision by Dave Roberts.
spk_0
Then featured the wheelplay of course.
spk_0
But the story of this series so far is what Otoni has done and it's what Snell has done.
spk_0
As Jason Stark wrote this morning in the athletic in a span of 39 batters at one point.
spk_0
When you look at Otoni first and then Snell, they allowed two hits, two hits in 39 batters.
spk_0
And as well as the Phillies have pitched Sanchez and Lazardo, they've been outpitched.
spk_0
And the Phillies again in the postseason are struggling offensively.
spk_0
Now I would suggest that a big reason they are struggling offensively in the postseason is
spk_0
because the Dodgers pitching has been so good.
spk_0
But Turner, Schwarber and Harper right now, two for 21.
spk_0
You could say the Dodgers are kind of in a similar spot.
spk_0
Otoni's one for nine.
spk_0
Otoni bets in Freeman just four for 25 combined.
spk_0
But the Dodgers have found a way to win these two games.
spk_0
And as we go forward here, it's almost difficult for me to imagine any team outpitching the Dodgers.
spk_0
What they have right now in addition to three brilliant starters.
spk_0
Of course I'm talking about Otoni, Snell and the game three choice.
spk_0
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who will be most likely a top five Saiyong finalist.
spk_0
We're also talking about a bullpen that yes has struggled, continues to struggle.
spk_0
But is currently fortified by four other starting pitchers.
spk_0
Four, glass now, Kershaw, Shion, and of course, Roki Sasaki,
spk_0
who is emerged as a pretty fair closer in recent days.
spk_0
So right now you have a situation where the Phillies are scraping.
spk_0
They're going back to LA.
spk_0
It's hard to imagine them winning this series, of course.
spk_0
And then if the series ends at some point and the Phillies end up losing,
spk_0
there are going to be a whole lot of questions about the future of this team.
spk_0
How they're going to go forward.
spk_0
Schwarber and Rilmuto are free agents.
spk_0
You would think the Phillies want them back.
spk_0
They don't have obvious internal replacements.
spk_0
Rob Thompson is manager.
spk_0
I would say he has done a good job.
spk_0
He is not the problem, but I would expect if the Phillies go out there to be some kind of change.
spk_0
So that's Philadelphia and LA.
spk_0
The Brewers last night, they took it to the Cubs yet again.
spk_0
And we're seeing here a big market, small market matchup, of course.
spk_0
And the small market team yet again, Milwaukee, prevailing in a big way.
spk_0
They have been the Cubs tormentors for quite some time now.
spk_0
And it's just continuing in this series.
spk_0
So last night, a team that is 22nd in the majors and home runs.
spk_0
The Brewers hit three homeers, including two three run shots.
spk_0
And that was the difference in the game.
spk_0
The three run shots by Andrew Vaughan and Jackson Churio, massive home runs.
spk_0
This is not necessarily what the Brewers do typically.
spk_0
What they did in game one was more typical.
spk_0
But here they are.
spk_0
They didn't even use Quinn Priester in their bullpen game.
spk_0
Yes, that was a bullpen game in which they prevailed last night.
spk_0
They had hinted at using Priester, but they preserved him for game three.
spk_0
And the Miz last night, my goodness.
spk_0
Three scoreless innings hit 104 miles an hour.
spk_0
He was absolutely brilliant and dominant and electric.
spk_0
He was also fired up.
spk_0
It was really cool to see.
spk_0
So the Cubs obviously in deep trouble here.
spk_0
And if you're a Cubs fan, I'm sure you're wondering.
spk_0
Man, if we only had Kate Horton, if we only had Justin Steele going back further,
spk_0
sure, that's fair.
spk_0
But the Brewers are without Brandon Woodruff.
spk_0
And the Cubs just have not matched them so far in this series from a starting pitching
spk_0
or any kind of pitching standpoint.
spk_0
Matt Boyd on three days rest in game one.
spk_0
Never a good idea to pitch a guy on three days rest in the postseason.
spk_0
The numbers are staggering against it, but the Cubs felt obviously that was their best option.
spk_0
And then Imanaga in game two, he is allowed a ton of home runs lately.
spk_0
31 in the regular season total.
spk_0
That is fourth in the majors.
spk_0
And then even more recently, 12 home runs in his last six starts allowed.
spk_0
Wasn't a shock last night to see him allow a few more homers.
spk_0
So the Cubs, I don't know how they're going to figure this out with the Brewers over time.
spk_0
But here are the Brewers.
spk_0
And not counting the COVID season.
spk_0
The last time the Cubs finished ahead of them.
spk_0
The last time was 2017.
spk_0
And for the Brewers, if they do prevail here, and it certainly looks like they will,
spk_0
this will be a huge thing for them because they have lost five straight opening round series.
spk_0
Four Wildcard series and Division series.
spk_0
They have yet to kind of break through in this new era of theirs,
spk_0
this era of council and now crap Murphy.
spk_0
This would be a big thing.
spk_0
And certainly we've seen them be the best team in the majors all season long.
spk_0
It seems to me now casual fans who might be watching this are seeing why.
spk_0
They do a lot of things really well.
spk_0
Brewers up to nothing in that series.
spk_0
Now the series I am on, the Yankees and the Blue Jays.
spk_0
We go to game three tonight at Yankees Stadium.
spk_0
The Blue Jays have outscored the Yankees 23 to 8 in this series.
spk_0
But it is all taken place at Roger Center where the Blue Jays were absolutely electric and brilliant
spk_0
and any other great adjective you might want to use in the first two games.
spk_0
I said this on Fair Territory yesterday.
spk_0
I'll say it again today.
spk_0
I do see a pathway for the Yankees to get back in this series.
spk_0
Obviously it starts tonight.
spk_0
Rodon has to beat Shane Bieber.
spk_0
And then game four, the Blue Jays are throwing a bullpen game.
spk_0
The Yankees will have Cam Schlipper.
spk_0
That would seemingly favor the Yankees.
spk_0
And then game five back in the Roger Center where the Yankees are one and eight.
spk_0
It would be freeing Gossman.
spk_0
And who knows how your Savage will be used if at all in games four or five coming off
spk_0
his brilliant 78 pitch performance on Sunday.
spk_0
But he is an option at some point four or five all hands on deck and a game five.
spk_0
And yes, the Yankees would have that Roger stigma hanging over them.
spk_0
The one and eight record.
spk_0
But at the same time when you get to that point, if you get to that point,
spk_0
again, all bets are off.
spk_0
You've got a shot.
spk_0
So we'll see what happens tonight.
spk_0
It is a huge test for the Yankees.
spk_0
A huge test for Aaron Judge.
spk_0
As I wrote yesterday, Vladimir Guerrero in two days in those games at Roger Center.
spk_0
In two days, produced more electrifying moments in the postseason than I think maybe Aaron Judge
spk_0
ever has.
spk_0
The game won Homer in the first inning for Guerrero.
spk_0
And of course, the Grand Slam in game two that turned to five.
spk_0
Nothing lead into a nine.
spk_0
Nothing leads.
spk_0
So Yankees obviously in trouble here.
spk_0
But again, they're coming home as opposed to the Phillies.
spk_0
And that gives them something of at least a chance, I would say.
spk_0
The other series, the final series we should discuss here.
spk_0
Mariners and Tigers.
spk_0
This has been an interesting series.
spk_0
Low scoring.
spk_0
Both games decided by scores of three to two.
spk_0
The Mariners finally win a postseason game at home for the first time since 2001.
spk_0
They do that in game two.
spk_0
A game that the Tigers had tied up late and easily could have won.
spk_0
Didn't work out that way.
spk_0
So now it goes back to Detroit.
spk_0
And we'll see what happens here.
spk_0
I am not convinced in one way or the other that either of these teams is going to dominate
spk_0
in the next two games.
spk_0
Tonight, we have Logan Gilbert seemingly with a pitching advantage over Jack Flarrity,
spk_0
who has been at times brilliant and at times inconsistent.
spk_0
So this is a series that it seems like it's going to go more
spk_0
longer than some of the others.
spk_0
Certainly when you're tied, one one, that would be the obvious conclusion can.
spk_0
But with scuba looming still and with the Mariners pitching, being what it is,
spk_0
I would expect low scoring games to continue assuming Flarrity tonight is going to be the Jack Flarrity
spk_0
we saw at times in last year's postseason at times during the regular season.
spk_0
But not always in either case.
spk_0
All right.
spk_0
We will be right back after this with the inside dish.
spk_0
Ft. Fam, let's talk about super power.
spk_0
Eric Krath is a proud super power customer and he's going to give us more of the personal
spk_0
experience. But I'll just start it with this.
spk_0
You ever go to the doctor and the doctor's just like, oh, drink more water.
spk_0
Are you looking for more data?
spk_0
More of a game plan?
spk_0
Super power does that for you.
spk_0
They give you the experience that athletes get with teams.
spk_0
Lab, the lab results came back for me.
spk_0
Now it's streamlines, everything that I kind of had an idea of.
spk_0
But now it really lets me focus on the things that I'm deficient in,
spk_0
the things that I have good, good lab test results from.
spk_0
And I could go in that direction I want to go.
spk_0
Nutritional guidance, supplement, suggestions, you name it.
spk_0
There's so much more info to check out at superpower.com.
spk_0
You can lock in the special $199 price while it lasts after you sign up.
spk_0
They're going to ask you how you heard about them.
spk_0
Mention Ft to support the show.
spk_0
Your biology decoded.
spk_0
Your blueprint activated with super power.
spk_0
Time now for the inside dish, the part of the show where I talk about maybe a story of
spk_0
written, maybe a trend in the game, maybe something else entirely.
spk_0
And today I want to talk about one of the favorite things that I do
spk_0
in the television part of my job when I work for Fox Sports.
spk_0
And that is interviewing parents.
spk_0
And I believe I've mentioned this before on the show,
spk_0
but I just take such enjoyment out of it because really every time you do it,
spk_0
it's in a successful situation for the player and the parents,
spk_0
most often major league debuts is when this happens.
spk_0
They are routinely overjoyed.
spk_0
So on Sunday in game two after you savage pitched five and a third
spk_0
scoreless innings with 11 strikeouts, hitless innings,
spk_0
I interviewed his parents, Dave and Cheryl up in the stands in Roger's Center.
spk_0
And I just kind of want to share with you guys how this came about because this one was a little bit different.
spk_0
So again, I've been doing this a long time now.
spk_0
This is my 20th year at Fox.
spk_0
I remember Daniel Nava, Nava coming up in 2010 for the Red Sox.
spk_0
First pitch grand slam in his first major league at bat interviewing his parents.
spk_0
I remember Cole Tucker when he came up for the Pirates in 2019, hit a home run
spk_0
and interviewed his parents.
spk_0
That was cool.
spk_0
2022 NLCS, the NOLA showdown between Austin NOLA of the Padres,
spk_0
Aranola of the Phillies interviewed their parents in the stands.
spk_0
All these things are great.
spk_0
Never interviewed a parent in a postseason game when his,
spk_0
when their son that's coming off the performance that Trayya Savage did.
spk_0
And actually, initially, this interview was not going to happen.
spk_0
The morning of the game, I contacted the blue jays and said,
spk_0
hey, if your Savage pitch is well, I would like to interview the parents.
spk_0
What do you think?
spk_0
Can you tell me the seat locations and we'll go from there?
spk_0
And the jays replied,
spk_0
you know what, this is something where we want to ask the player first.
spk_0
And we do not want to talk to you Savage on the day of his start.
spk_0
The next time, if you just let us know in day and advance,
spk_0
we'll talk to him and we'll see what happens.
spk_0
That answer frustrated me.
spk_0
I will lie at the same time.
spk_0
I did understand it.
spk_0
Now, you might say, well, what's the big deal about asking a player
spk_0
if a reporter can talk to his parents?
spk_0
But starting pictures generally are left alone
spk_0
the day of their starts.
spk_0
And Trayya Savage was making his fourth major league starts.
spk_0
So I could understand where the blue jays were coming from.
spk_0
And I can even understand why they would want his approval
spk_0
because not all players would be comfortable with their parents being interviewed.
spk_0
And I could speak for myself here.
spk_0
My dad has passed away.
spk_0
But if he was ever interviewed about me, I would not have been happy about it.
spk_0
He would have taken things probably in directions
spk_0
that I would not have been comfortable with.
spk_0
So I understood the whole thing.
spk_0
But then the game is progressing.
spk_0
The blue jays go up nine, nothing.
spk_0
They go up 11, nothing.
spk_0
They go up 12, nothing.
spk_0
And I text an official from MLB who was working the series
spk_0
and on the broadcast side.
spk_0
He's assigned to really organizing the broadcast,
spk_0
interviews, and different things.
spk_0
And I said, hey, it would be nice if we could interview
spk_0
Trayya Savage's parents, don't you think?
spk_0
And he agreed.
spk_0
And he said, you know what?
spk_0
Let me ask the blue jays.
spk_0
And we'll see what they say.
spk_0
And the blue jays said, you know what?
spk_0
Okay, they allowed that MLB official to approach the parents in the stands,
spk_0
ask their permission if I could come up there and interview them.
spk_0
And everything from there proceeded.
spk_0
The MLB official texted me back and said, we're good.
spk_0
Go ahead up there.
spk_0
I did that.
spk_0
And I had a stage manager, a person down in the field with me
spk_0
who knew the ballpark better than I did.
spk_0
Got me to the seats.
spk_0
And you saw what happened if you were still watching by that point.
spk_0
Dave and Cheryl were great.
spk_0
And what was unusual about this interview,
spk_0
difference in some of the others.
spk_0
Usually it's conducted with the parents sitting down
spk_0
because the games are, I don't know, close and people are watching
spk_0
and they don't want to be standing up and blocking the view of others.
spk_0
But in this case, Dave, you savage, Trayya's dad said,
spk_0
you know what?
spk_0
I want everybody up behind me because that were family members,
spk_0
a lot of family members, it seemed like behind them.
spk_0
And other people, maybe from other blue jays families as well.
spk_0
So everybody stood.
spk_0
Dave stood, Cheryl stood, brother Cole stood.
spk_0
He's in college right now.
spk_0
But he was up.
spk_0
They had driven up from Pennsylvania for this.
spk_0
And you can see the excitement of the parents.
spk_0
Hear the excitement of the parents.
spk_0
They gave great answers to the questions.
spk_0
They were regular people as almost all baseball player parents are.
spk_0
And it was just a fun interview.
spk_0
So it was the kind of thing that kind of
spk_0
makes my job even more fulfilling.
spk_0
It's always fulfilling.
spk_0
It's always great.
spk_0
But again, that is maybe the favorite thing that I do.
spk_0
Interview and parents enjoy us moments like that.
spk_0
And when you have parents who are
spk_0
as down-home and as cool as Dave and Cheryl were,
spk_0
well, it doesn't get any better than that.
spk_0
So that was it.
spk_0
That was the story behind that interview.
spk_0
I want to thank obviously Dave and Cheryl
spk_0
for being so accommodating with their time and being willing to do it.
spk_0
I also want to thank the blue jays for ultimately deviating from their policy,
spk_0
I guess you would say.
spk_0
And I want to thank the MLB official who helped as well.
spk_0
Worked out great.
spk_0
And who knows?
spk_0
Maybe we'll have another moment like that later in the series.
spk_0
Maybe Cam Schletler's parents will be the next ones that we interview.
spk_0
But he's already, I don't know, pretty accomplished for a major league pitcher.
spk_0
Anyway, that is the inside dish.
spk_0
We'll be back with grilling Ken right after this.
spk_0
Ft. Fam, another reason why you should love arena club is the grading system.
spk_0
So you recently pulled a slap pack.
spk_0
And then you said, hey, it's not graded.
spk_0
Grade it for me.
spk_0
They gave you an 8.5 out of 10 on your auto whitey Ford card.
spk_0
And then they show you all the details of the grading system.
spk_0
It's very interactive within the app.
spk_0
And then you're done.
spk_0
If you want to sell the card or you want to know what it's worth, you've got it.
spk_0
It's like getting taken to school on the cards.
spk_0
And I think that's the coolest part of it.
spk_0
If you're young or old, you understand, hey,
spk_0
this is how it gets deciphered all the way through.
spk_0
It shows you the numbers and how they went through it.
spk_0
I think that's the coolest part about this whole thing.
spk_0
And then you can keep it traded or sell it to whatever you want.
spk_0
And it's so much more efficient to do this through arena club.
spk_0
Whether you're ripping a pack, there's the slap packs,
spk_0
buying a card, selling a card, grading a card.
spk_0
It's all there for you.
spk_0
We talk about it all season long.
spk_0
arenaclub.com slash F-O-U-L is where you can go to give it a shot.
spk_0
20% off your first card purchase.
spk_0
arenaclub.com slash file.
spk_0
Use the code file at checkout and get 20% off.
spk_0
All right, we're back.
spk_0
We'll get to grilling can in one second.
spk_0
But first, I want to address the ongoing situation
spk_0
regarding the managerial merry go round.
spk_0
Rich Giroly wrote about it today for the athletic
spk_0
and Brett, of course, did an outstanding job as always.
spk_0
It's a very interesting situation because there are so many jobs open.
spk_0
We've seen the Texas Rangers fill their position as expected
spk_0
with Skips Drew Mocker.
spk_0
And now it remains to be seen just where these other ones are going to go.
spk_0
We've got three interms still to be decided.
spk_0
Colorado, I would expect that to be a change because a new general manager
spk_0
is coming in to replace Bill Schmidt.
spk_0
Washington still has to decide on Miguel Cairo.
spk_0
Baltimore still has to decide on Tony Mancelino.
spk_0
I wrote last week about David Ross and his interest in becoming a manager again.
spk_0
And there are two jobs in particular that I think are the most appealing.
spk_0
And maybe three.
spk_0
The most appealing right now, the ones open, is Atlanta.
spk_0
I don't know that there's any question about that.
spk_0
Most everyone in the game expects the braves to be back and back in a big way next season.
spk_0
They're going to do some things in the off season
spk_0
and they're also going to be healthier than they were.
spk_0
So I would expect that job to be one that is highly contested.
spk_0
I don't know and have no feel really for which way
spk_0
Alex Anthopolis wants to go.
spk_0
Walt Weiss is certainly someone who has managed before.
spk_0
He was on Brian Snicker's staff,
spk_0
but I don't know that they want to have that kind of continuity.
spk_0
They might want to change.
spk_0
And Anthopolis has not hired a manager in Atlanta.
spk_0
He's had Snicker the whole time.
spk_0
So he's going to probably want his own guy with his own stamp.
spk_0
That would be my expectation.
spk_0
Baltimore is another interesting job.
spk_0
And the Orioles, yes, they have worked to do this off season.
spk_0
They have to reconstruct virtually their entire bullpen.
spk_0
And more than anything, they need to find the top of the rotation starter
spk_0
that they didn't get last year.
spk_0
It turns out that Trevor Rogers kind of emerged as that guy
spk_0
in the second half of the season.
spk_0
And Kyle Bradish is coming back.
spk_0
So you've got two top of the rotation types kind of in place.
spk_0
But at the same time, they need one more.
spk_0
So that's another interesting job.
spk_0
San Francisco as well.
spk_0
The Giants have some holes to fill.
spk_0
They've got to get better in a number of different areas.
spk_0
But it seems like Nick Hunley, the former catcher,
spk_0
is the favorite for that job.
spk_0
And that job too is appealing because Buster Posey
spk_0
as president-based operations is going to want to win.
spk_0
So we're going to see how this all plays out in the next few weeks.
spk_0
I do expect maybe even more movement, especially if the fillies go out.
spk_0
Because then the question of Rob Thompson would come up.
spk_0
And I know Yankee fans are waiting, well, if we get swept, what about Aaron Boone?
spk_0
I don't see it.
spk_0
I don't see it because of the way this is happening.
spk_0
It's not Aaron Boone's fault that his team is getting pounded here.
spk_0
It just happens to be that they've run into a hot club.
spk_0
But we shall see in the days and weeks ahead.
spk_0
All right, with that, let's get to grilling can.
spk_0
First question comes from Richard Prok to who asks,
spk_0
what are the chances of any expansion news this off season?
spk_0
That Richard actually is a really good question.
spk_0
And I don't know the answer to it.
spk_0
So Rob Maffred's position as commissioner has been the whole time.
spk_0
Wait till Tampa Bay and Sacramento, it turns out now, gets resolved.
spk_0
Wait till the two franchises, the A's and the Rays have their stadium issues all set.
spk_0
They're not quite there yet.
spk_0
So I would not expect an announcement this off season.
spk_0
Yes, the A's have a plan.
spk_0
They're going to Las Vegas.
spk_0
Construction is underway.
spk_0
The Rays have new ownership.
spk_0
But they yet, or they do not yet, have a stadium plan in place.
spk_0
So once that happens, and I do expect it to happen in relatively short order,
spk_0
then at that point, I would expect Maffred to proceed.
spk_0
But not before that.
spk_0
And maybe not before the next round of labor negotiations,
spk_0
because that's going to take precedence.
spk_0
And the next agreement does not expire until December 1, 2026.
spk_0
So there's your non-answer, but I would not expect it to be this off season.
spk_0
All right, next question here.
spk_0
This one comes from Bernie Suarez, who asks,
spk_0
is Dave Roberts going to finally give in and say,
spk_0
Sasaki is the closer?
spk_0
In this case, Bernie, I would say it really doesn't matter.
spk_0
Actions will speak louder than words.
spk_0
And at some point, we're going to see Roki Sasaki
spk_0
continue on the way he is right now, as the closer.
spk_0
That's what he is.
spk_0
He came in last night and closed, even though he wasn't the initial choice.
spk_0
So, yes, perhaps Dave Roberts says it today.
spk_0
On the off day, perhaps he says it going into the next game.
spk_0
Perhaps he doesn't say it at all,
spk_0
but just keeps using Sasaki that way.
spk_0
What matters is that usage, how he actually goes about the late innings,
spk_0
and I would expect from here on out,
spk_0
we're going to see a whole lot of Roki Sasaki closing.
spk_0
All right, we've got time for one more, I believe.
spk_0
Okay, is Woodruff going to return for the NLCS?
spk_0
This comes from Drew.
spk_0
I would not expect that.
spk_0
I have not heard much on him lately,
spk_0
but my understanding was that he was problematic
spk_0
for the rest of the postseason.
spk_0
Now, I'm not on that series,
spk_0
and I might not have the freshest updated information,
spk_0
but I would be surprised if Brandon Woodruff came back.
spk_0
And to shift the conversation a little bit to another injury,
spk_0
Pope is shit.
spk_0
I was asked about him on FTES today,
spk_0
and I said, I don't see him coming back for potential ALCS
spk_0
because he still is limping.
spk_0
When I see him in the dugout during the games,
spk_0
he's not moving all that well.
spk_0
So, these questions obviously will be answered
spk_0
as we move forward here,
spk_0
but we will see if we see either of these guys again in the postseason.
spk_0
All right, one more question or no, let's see.
spk_0
Yes, one more.
spk_0
Can we put the postseason format criticisms to bed
spk_0
from foul territory this comes?
spk_0
Well, yes, at least in this case,
spk_0
the two teams with the buys actually,
spk_0
yeah, two teams with the buys,
spk_0
the Blue Jays and the Brewers have played exceedingly well
spk_0
coming out of those breaks.
spk_0
The Mariners have done okay.
spk_0
The Phillies have not,
spk_0
but they've run into a better club.
spk_0
So, I don't know what we can put it to bed.
spk_0
Each team reacts in a different way to that layoff,
spk_0
but with the Blue Jays,
spk_0
Guerrero has talked quite a bit about this.
spk_0
He's benefited from the rest.
spk_0
Other players have as well.
spk_0
The Brewers perhaps were a bigger surprise
spk_0
in that obviously all players need rest,
spk_0
but with the staff they play,
spk_0
you weren't sure they could turn it back on again.
spk_0
Yes, they have turned it back on again.
spk_0
So, really, at this point,
spk_0
at least looking at this postseason,
spk_0
the small sample size of that,
spk_0
teams seem to have figured out how to rebound
spk_0
from five days off,
spk_0
and in some cases, clearly it has benefited them.
spk_0
All right, that is it for today's show.
spk_0
We will be back maybe Thursday,
spk_0
maybe Friday, not exactly sure yet.
spk_0
Depends on the postseason schedule.
spk_0
That show, the next one will be with Alana Rizzo
