spk_0 And now move the sticks with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks.
spk_0 What's up everybody?
spk_0 Welcome to move the sticks on a Monday, DJ Buck and Baldi.
spk_0 Uh Baldi, first of all, where the heck were you yesterday?
spk_0 I was in the jungle since an ad watching Detroit just just roll the way they have been rolling.
spk_0 And then just watching, you know,
spk_0 horrible quarterback play from Jake Browning to the point where,
spk_0 I mean, me and you and Bucky, we could sit here and we could draw a place to get,
spk_0 you know, to more chase the ball.
spk_0 It didn't happen to really the fourth quarter.
spk_0 It was just amazing.
spk_0 It was just one of those games.
spk_0 You better have some material to fill because it was really ugly till the end.
spk_0 That's a rough one.
spk_0 Bucky, you have a big one tonight.
spk_0 That's where you're joining us remotely.
spk_0 You've got the chefs.
spk_0 It's the the Jags welcoming the Kansas City Chiefs.
spk_0 So you got a big one tonight, buddy.
spk_0 Yeah, big one.
spk_0 Excited. Uh the buzz around the city.
spk_0 You can feel there's a lot of excitement.
spk_0 Cheese fans come in droves.
spk_0 And so, uh, the last time the Jags had like one of these premier games,
spk_0 it didn't go well because Jake Browning and Cincinnati Bengals tore them up two years ago
spk_0 on a Monday night.
spk_0 So this is a chance for them to equip themselves a little better when the war has opportunity.
spk_0 See him.
spk_0 Yeah, I'm looking forward to watching that game, man.
spk_0 We're going to rip through some of these games here and hit it from some different angles.
spk_0 Let's start first of all Sunday night or
spk_0 how about this for a little upset special in the England Buffalo Patriots going to Buffalo
spk_0 win 23 to 20 ball.
spk_0 They would just see.
spk_0 Well, the very first play of the game, Drake made, you know, throws it to
spk_0 Stefan Diggs and, uh, you know, he gets the first down and then they just kept feeding them.
spk_0 He looked as good as he's looked in, I don't know, two or three years.
spk_0 But they just do a good job of balancing it up.
spk_0 Will Campbell is a really good and layer and a good game against Joey Bolsa and
spk_0 Epinessa out there.
spk_0 They run it with three backs.
spk_0 They run it with Stevenson.
spk_0 They run it with, you know, Henderson.
spk_0 They run it with Gibson.
spk_0 They throw it to the, they really used their backs.
spk_0 And, you know, Drake made a couple plays in that game that kind of reminds you of Josh Allen,
spk_0 including, you know, as he's going to the ground, you know, and he gets the ball out to Diggs,
spk_0 you know, that final drive to get the game winning field goal.
spk_0 Drake made, Stan's tall in the pocket.
spk_0 He's, he's, he's mobile without looking to, to always run and take off, you know,
spk_0 with some of these guys are in his league.
spk_0 He looks like a real general out there.
spk_0 But that, that was impressive.
spk_0 That was impressive offensively.
spk_0 How they bounce things up and, uh, you know, move the ball when they had to,
spk_0 but I thought Diggs, I thought Diggs was really strong.
spk_0 And then Hunter Henry keeps finding, you know, I don't know how many years Hunter's been in his league,
spk_0 but he finds those spaces in the middle of the field for the jump balls.
spk_0 But he could still go get it, you know, with the best of them right now.
spk_0 You know, what's interesting about this, I love all the stuff that you had to say about the
spk_0 Tariot Drake, man, I just, boy, I just wish I could just, just put that in a little bottle and
spk_0 just keep that when I use just wax and pull it.
spk_0 Nice, he's nice to see your schools allowed to actually post about that.
spk_0 That was fine.
spk_0 It was fine.
spk_0 It was not far from that.
spk_0 I'll, I'll, I'll focus about the league right now.
spk_0 I'm not worried about the college, but I will say this, um, Drake,
spk_0 May is another example.
spk_0 I think of kind of what we learned from Josh Allen because this college tape wasn't perfect,
spk_0 but it was more the projection of what he could be.
spk_0
spk_0 But a lot of that projection should have been based on the person.
spk_0 And I think what you're seeing is the person, the leader, the connector comes out.
spk_0 He going back to the last week when he, in Charlotte, paid Cam Newton a shout out when he scored.
spk_0 Like he has some swag to him that a lot of people don't know.
spk_0 And I think that came to the forefront.
spk_0 But to me, when I talk about the Patriots, this is a Mike Vrable game.
spk_0 This is the classic.
spk_0 We go ugly the game up.
spk_0 We'll do whatever we need to do to get out of there with the win.
spk_0 And the bills played into their hands because the self inflicted mistakes.
spk_0 It's ugly ball when you played the Patriots with Mike Vrable.
spk_0 And if you're not on your A game, they'll snatch it into fourth quarter much like they did on Sunday night.
spk_0 That's true, Bucky.
spk_0 But for the first time in literally five years, the Patriots actually have real personnel.
spk_0 They have real running backs.
spk_0 They have real receivers tied in a quarterback to actually can deliver.
spk_0 It's been a long time.
spk_0 It's been a long drought going back to Belichick's last two years.
spk_0 Before they could put a team around a quarterback and a quarterback
spk_0 and actually drive the field and look like a real NFL team.
spk_0 That was impressive, man.
spk_0 I'm back through all Drake stuff.
spk_0 The stuff that was on time, he was on time back foot ball gone.
spk_0 Then he went through a little bit of an uneasy phase in this game and then they kind of got it back rolling again.
spk_0 He's under center a lot, which I love.
spk_0 You watch a bunch of stuff this week.
spk_0 There's a bunch of teams that seem like they're getting under center a little bit more,
spk_0 which was good to see.
spk_0 They moved the pocket with him.
spk_0 No one they're going to have to deal with some of the past rush stuff.
spk_0 The Hunter Henry, he had two grabs between four guys.
spk_0 So you want to talk about finding space.
spk_0 He just finds that little void and those are not easy throws.
spk_0 So I thought young quarterbacks, I tend to get the live arm guys,
spk_0 but there were some touch throws, some up and down throws that he made.
spk_0 There were big time and impressive in that game.
spk_0 The scramble stuff with digs, they were on the same page with all that.
spk_0 When you get to the scramble drill, like there's a couple guys in this league that when they see the quarterback in trouble,
spk_0 they want more than anybody.
spk_0 This is like a separate skill.
spk_0 Like I saw Jamar chase yesterday digs.
spk_0 There's a few guys that when that quarterback's in trouble,
spk_0 nobody else getting they're getting the ball.
spk_0 They're going to find it.
spk_0 And I thought the big scramble to digs for 30,
spk_0 like that was a huge play.
spk_0 He got his feet down and drake was able to get it out.
spk_0 But I mean, there's just certain guys that they want to get into the vision of the quarterback.
spk_0 Yeah, the worst thing you can do from a quarterback standpoint is just be static.
spk_0 Like I'm moving, you need to be moving.
spk_0 And there's all the scramble rules.
spk_0 Everybody knows about those, but there's I'm telling that's not universal.
spk_0 When you watch some of these games,
spk_0 these guys, some of these scramble receivers have no idea what to do.
spk_0 They give no they don't give a picture at all to the quarterback.
spk_0 That digs digs recognition and then a board and was immediate.
spk_0 Like that was.
spk_0 We did a little twirl.
spk_0 We'll go.
spk_0 And it's like I'm going to go get to the sideline here.
spk_0 Yeah, it was that was big time.
spk_0 One of my takeaways from the week overall just going through all this stuff was
spk_0 you can tell the teams that are good on that stuff on the scramble.
spk_0 The other thing, the biggest takeaway for me for the whole week as we go through these
spk_0 games, you can tell the teams have a plan for pressure and those that don't.
spk_0 It's common.
spk_0 Everybody's going to get heated up in this league because we've got exotic looks.
spk_0 We've got a defensive line talent advantage over an offensive line talent in this league.
spk_0 So you better have a plan and it better be you know, it better be crisp and you better be on your
spk_0 your your draw dot and your eyes and cross on your teeth.
spk_0 Some teams they get blitz.
spk_0 It's like a surprise party and they have no idea how to handle it.
spk_0 But the scramble drill and having to have a plan there I thought was pretty interesting.
spk_0 I thought in that game too, you know that the Patriots now have a true eye formation
spk_0 with the kids.
spk_0 I think it's Jack West over number 37.
spk_0 You know, he was a lead blocker in some place, but they run that scissors play where he goes one
spk_0 way and then the back goes the other day.
spk_0 He scored a touchdown on it and he came back to it like three times in a game and it got
spk_0 you know, his linebackers are reading the fullback and they just start flowing.
spk_0 It just clears things out to the point where that last touchdown he scored.
spk_0 Honestly, 100 Henry had nobody to block.
spk_0 Everybody went with the fullback.
spk_0 I just classic Josh McDaniels and two back offense and you know, I mean,
spk_0 Ravel's going to subscribe to that.
spk_0 You know, the thing about step on digs coming over and it's what we saw with him
spk_0 kind of accelerating development of Josh Allen.
spk_0 There's something to be said for having that veteran receiver that is reliable, dependable,
spk_0 trustworthy in the passing game where that guy knows I always can find the completion
spk_0 if I go to him.
spk_0 And I thought step on digs comments after the game where he really was giving Drake May his flowers
spk_0 because the comparisons were coming Josh Allen Drake, man, he was like, hey, like there's some of
spk_0 that stuff.
spk_0 Obviously, but you want to make sure that Drake May is Drake May because he has his own special
spk_0 qualities they want to acknowledge.
spk_0 I just feel like just the maturity that he showed there and whatever he shows in the building,
spk_0 there's some kind of synergy and connection that he makes with young quarterbacks that helps him
spk_0 kind of grow.
spk_0 It may only be a two or three year window, but it certainly has proven true first with Josh Allen
spk_0 and then it looks like with Drake May.
spk_0 I didn't know doubt and this is again, think about Josh McDaniels.
spk_0 It's impressive what he's done there.
spk_0 He looks like vintage Josh McDaniels with how he's with how he's done up.
spk_0 All right, Denver Philly.
spk_0 Buck wants you to jump first on this one.
spk_0 Okay, so there's a saying that the squeaky wheel gets degrees.
spk_0 But sometimes you need to resist given the wheel degrees.
spk_0 Because the Philadelphia Eagles in that game, that was an apiece, AJ Brown and Devon to Smith
spk_0 game. And look, for a team that has been a successful debut, I'm watching the game and being like,
spk_0 why are they throwing the ball so much?
spk_0 This is not who they are.
spk_0 And so the thing about it when you appease players because players are just like your kids.
spk_0 After the game when they lose, they steal a bitch and belly and get about not winning.
spk_0 So you can't please them.
spk_0 I just want to see the Eagles play like the Eagles.
spk_0 They need to run the football.
spk_0 They need to pass as a compliment and really stick to the formula that has really helped them be
spk_0 a dominant team.
spk_0 The AJ Brown stuff and Devon to Smith stuff is more distraction and all it will do.
spk_0 It's taken down a wayward path that would not end up in a Super Bowl appearance.
spk_0 Well, to that point,
spk_0 sake one had one carry in the fourth quarter when they couldn't put a drive together.
spk_0 One carry in the fourth quarter.
spk_0 This guy ran for you.
spk_0 Rekker's last year in one carry in the fourth quarter.
spk_0 No, I mean, that's to your point, Bucky.
spk_0 Like they're doing what exactly what you said.
spk_0 And then nothing, I mean, DJ, you have spoken to this at times.
spk_0 But nothing is on time in that offense.
spk_0 Nothing.
spk_0 Like there is no there is no timing.
spk_0 It's actually alarming when you watch, especially if you're just watching this
spk_0 and all these other games and you're seeing Baker and all these guys, you know, Drake and
spk_0 throw these things on like there's nothing on time.
spk_0 And as an offense alignment, nothing, I play with Randal Cunningham.
spk_0 I love Randall.
spk_0 But that Randall only threw the ball when the receiver was looking at him.
spk_0 There was no anticipation.
spk_0 And there was an inoccurator.
spk_0 He had a great arm and when he threw it, he whistled it.
spk_0 But it reminds me a little bit of that.
spk_0 And as an offense line, you're like, how long are we supposed to hold these blocks
spk_0 against Nick Benito, you know, how against Zach Allen?
spk_0 And that's, you know, they're getting sacks because they're holding the ball for six, seven
spk_0 seconds. It's ridiculous.
spk_0 I looked at Benito's sacks.
spk_0 The first one I just wrote coverage sack, like just kind of a garbage coverage sack.
spk_0 The second one, I mean, they were the communication with Toath was not good on a little game
spk_0 that they ran.
spk_0 So he got kind of crossed up there.
spk_0 And then the last one was kind of a slow loss to Milata, where I mean, he powered him,
spk_0 but it was not a quick win.
spk_0 And as an offensive lineman in the league ball, you know, it's just don't lose quick.
spk_0 They didn't lose quick, like they, they kind of lost low, but eventually you're on it at a time.
spk_0 So that was the kind of Benito thing that six sacks overalls as a group.
spk_0 I wanted to go quickly, buck to the other side.
spk_0 Coral and Sutton had eight for 99 in this game.
spk_0 I looked up the numbers on pace for 1241 yards and 10 touchdowns.
spk_0 Had a thousand yards last year.
spk_0 And I was talking to you guys like, he might be one of the most underrated receivers.
spk_0 He's been able to do it all the time.
spk_0 He was just looking on him.
spk_0 Yeah, and we know Mitchell with him a bunch.
spk_0 There's a couple times he's in the slot where he just kind of posts up in the zone,
spk_0 but there was a lot of wins down the field.
spk_0 It actually the one of the first target he got to go ball down the sound like he dropped
spk_0 where he got on top of Quinion immediately and didn't haul it in.
spk_0 But he's physical at the top working back.
spk_0 They killed him with back shoulders, even like some deep curl stuff.
spk_0 Like to me for a bigger guy, he gets back down the stem pretty good.
spk_0 Like he's pretty efficient in his movement doing that stuff.
spk_0 Like I wrote down on my notes, kind of gave me just watching him.
spk_0 And I think we might even have made this comp when he was coming out,
spk_0 but give me like some brain and martial vibes.
spk_0 And I would say this, he's become a more physical player in the league than he was when he was
spk_0 coming out.
spk_0 Because remember, he was a big player, but he had a big body, but he played real finesse in his approach.
spk_0 He's become a more physical player in the perimeter and using his size to post up and do that.
spk_0 Same as observation that you had.
spk_0 Man, he was giving Quinion Mitchell, who was one of the emerging top corners in the league.
spk_0 He was giving them to business very, very early.
spk_0 And it was part of a plan.
spk_0 And this why we talk about coaching, but man, there's just a thing when you have great coaches,
spk_0 guys that are schemers and tacticians and understand, that was a Sean Payton,
spk_0 Vance Joseph game.
spk_0 Like they were on their game against the Eagles.
spk_0 The way Sean Payton controlled the game, the way that he kind of forced the
spk_0 issue when they went for two.
spk_0 And I was like, whoa, what is this reason?
spk_0 I'm a control fate.
spk_0 I'm going to make them react to us just all of it.
spk_0 And then the way that they just the tempo of the game, it was a Broncos game from the story.
spk_0 Even though they were behind, it still felt like the Broncos kind of had the game on their terms.
spk_0 Accredited to everything, their personnel is solid.
spk_0 We're really Sean Payton and Vance Joseph.
spk_0 They both do a masterful job of using the talent and the tactics to put the game in their favor.
spk_0 The other thing was that was a short week.
spk_0 They played Monday night and travel.
spk_0 Like all those factors that some people might be using as some kind of an excuse if they don't play well.
spk_0 And they got off to a sluggish start.
spk_0 You know, but man, that defense is just what they do.
spk_0 It's really, they play so many coverages behind that front right now.
spk_0 And they have five different guys that can win on one-on-one.
spk_0 I thought Lane Johnson just shut out Cooper over on one side, but I thought the other guys.
spk_0 You know, really handled things pretty good up front.
spk_0 And you know, to just see the Eagles just completely get away from who they are
spk_0 to your point, Bucky.
spk_0 Like that's pretty shocking actually.
spk_0 No question.
spk_0 They had a chance to put that game away and didn't do it.
spk_0 All right, let's get to the game of the day.
spk_0 Tampa Bay Seattle.
spk_0 These are two of the better teams in the league.
spk_0 Both playing at a very high level.
spk_0 Aided by quarterbacks and receiver combinations that have been electric.
spk_0 I mean, you think about the connection with Sam and Baker teammates together
spk_0 for the Carolina Panthers.
spk_0 Yeah, that's insane when you think about that.
spk_0 Give me your notes, DJ.
spk_0 Well, what you had on a Buka coming up like he just slides through everything.
spk_0 Like so he's so smooth.
spk_0 All right, Baldi.
spk_0 Strong physical receiver with the ability to play inside or out.
spk_0 Quick and as released, he can fight his way through press.
spk_0 I thought he was more of a one-speed route runner, but he's comfortable working in traffic.
spk_0 Taxable in the air in the middle of the field.
spk_0 On vertical routes, he tracks the ball extremely well.
spk_0 Has a knack for utilizing late hands to prevent
spk_0 defenders from playing the pocket and poking them all away.
spk_0 Has a great field working in zones and adjusting his route
spk_0 if the play is prolonged.
spk_0 After the catch, more toughness than pure speed to create extra yards.
spk_0 He's earned rave reviews from NFL teams for the knowledge and leadership.
spk_0 He's shown when they've met with him overall.
spk_0 Here's the kicker overall.
spk_0 I view a Buka's impact slot in the mold of former Buka, Jackson Smith and Jigba.
spk_0 They shared the field with him.
spk_0 They both tore the other team apart.
spk_0 But he's so nuanced.
spk_0 I'll pull my nut just from this game, just off of him in this game.
spk_0 He plays the way inside.
spk_0 He plays outside.
spk_0 He's so fluid and smooth.
spk_0 Winds on a whole shot.
spk_0 Lots of you see skinny posts.
spk_0 You see a deep post.
spk_0 He's got unbelievable feel and zone.
spk_0 Like he's just got the awareness and instincts of somebody who's been playing a heck of a lot longer
spk_0 than he's played, Buck.
spk_0 You know, here's the thing that I would say about both of those guys because it was funny.
spk_0 When you look at the guys, they played around them.
spk_0 There's more maybe flash and sizzle.
spk_0 But both of those guys, I think you could put in your port just a pro.
spk_0 Like they just play the game like season veterans, pros, high IQ players, skill route runners.
spk_0 They can do their job and they have the versatility that every office of coordinator wants.
spk_0 And at least one received being able to play inside and outside.
spk_0 And look man, we talked about Brian Hartline.
spk_0 We've said what Ohio State does to develop wide receivers.
spk_0 But I think every Sunday's an inframarisher for Ohio State when it comes to their White House.
spk_0 Like in this game in particular, if I'm a recruit and I'm looking at how they're having success,
spk_0 why wouldn't I go to Ohio State because they appear to be next level ready when they step in
spk_0 and a book in JSN, our prime examples of that.
spk_0 You know, they're down 35, 28 with three minutes ago.
spk_0 And Baker takes them on a five-place 70-yard drive with a touchdown to Shepherd.
spk_0 And on the touchdown throw, he's looking for a book and they double them.
spk_0 They bracket them pretty good.
spk_0 He takes a peek.
spk_0 He looks to the right.
spk_0 It's not there.
spk_0 And then Baker does what he's been doing now.
spk_0 Like his ability, it's not frenetic.
spk_0 There is some sort of like movement, but how he moves and how he escapes.
spk_0 It's like it's different really than anybody else.
spk_0 And so he escapes to his left and he takes a shot to Shepherd.
spk_0 Like I don't even know if he's open, but he threw him open.
spk_0 Like and he's getting chased pretty good on the play.
spk_0 I even just in a minute, like that guy is a candidate to be the MVP of this league, right?
spk_0 It's five weeks I get it.
spk_0 But the way that guy's playing with his short handed is they bet on the offense line at receivers.
spk_0 You name it.
spk_0 And for them to be where they are.
spk_0 He's he just keeps getting better.
spk_0 All right.
spk_0 I'm going to see if I can pull this up because I wanted to go back through his report because we're
spk_0 talking about these guys.
spk_0 And I'll get to darn old here in a second because it's interesting.
spk_0 I think these guys have kind of ended up where we hope they would end up.
spk_0 Mayfield, unique setup.
spk_0 He's frenetic, which speaks to a little bit what you're talking about,
spk_0 Bully, but he's consistently accurate despite throwing from a variety of platforms and arm angles.
spk_0 Generates a ton of torque from his lower body.
spk_0 You need to see him play in person to fully appreciate the way the ball jumps out of his hand.
spk_0 His offensive line to Nightshop keep him clean.
spk_0 But when pressure, he showed the ability to extend plays while keeping his eyes down the field.
spk_0 He's accurate on the move.
spk_0 And while he lacks top speed, he's very effective on desired QB runs.
spk_0 The biggest challenge coming out of that offense involves a lack of tight window of throws.
spk_0 He's had to make it will take some time for him to adjust to the lack of space at the next level.
spk_0 There are some questions about some maturity stuff off the field.
spk_0 Long story short, Mayfield might lack ideal size, but I love his accuracy,
spk_0 playmaking skills and toughness.
spk_0 He has the tools to be a quality starter early in his career.
spk_0 That's where he is, which I want to get to Sam, because I'll read just Sam.
spk_0 And then we'll see if this sounds like this is where he's landed on as he's really.
spk_0 As you pull that up, he threw the interception of La Vante.
spk_0 And they ran that week side overload with Winfield coming free to get to Sam.
spk_0 But they ran that, they ran that blitz six times against the Jets.
spk_0 They got home every single time.
spk_0 It was either Winfield or Powers was coming.
spk_0 Todd can, Todd will get a free hitter to your quarterback, man.
spk_0 He's going to happen.
spk_0 And he just happened in the biggest moment of the game there in the final minute, 58 seconds ago.
spk_0 You made no doubt.
spk_0 Here is the Sam thing, fixed 30 frame, operandist shotgun, quick feet.
spk_0 Throw from a wide base has a long loopy throwing motion, but it's actually quick and explosive.
spk_0 He's showing the ability of tighten up at times.
spk_0 It's very quick, guys, to work through progressions and throws with an excellent anticipation.
spk_0 He can change ball speed and ball flight.
spk_0 He has enough velocity to fit balls and tight windows.
spk_0 Once he improves his weight transfer, you'll see an uptick in accuracy and velocity.
spk_0 He's a nifty athlete capable of escaping free restures and creating explosives down the field.
spk_0 Very competitive runner-off fight for yards.
spk_0 Biggest issue has been a fumble issue that he's had.
spk_0 I need to do a better job keeping both hands in the ball in the pocket,
spk_0 covering the ball up once he takes off.
spk_0 Overall, Donald has some areas to clean up, but I love his size,
spk_0 competitiveness and ability to make plays on and off schedule.
spk_0 But he's got, both these guys are playing great ball.
spk_0 Look at the numbers in this game.
spk_0 They're, they're winning an income.
spk_0 Please, Mr. Throws.
spk_0 But Baker was 29 for three conditions.
spk_0 And Sam was 28 for 34.
spk_0 Baker 379, Sam 341, they combined for six touchdowns of one pick.
spk_0 And then the JSN stuff just kind of put a bow on this whole thing.
spk_0 He's living outside, man.
spk_0 For I thought he was going to be an unbelievable slot receiver.
spk_0 He is turning to one of the best outside receivers in the NFL.
spk_0 He's plenty capable out there.
spk_0 He wins and slants buck in such a variety of ways.
spk_0 Where you'll see one step slants and you'll see him win.
spk_0 You'll see guys, I'm off of him.
spk_0 And he has that kind of AJ Brown, like the little, he'll give him a full two-hand shove.
spk_0 You know, if they're going to squat on him and he creates that separation there,
spk_0 then he also can, he can weave and stem guys up and get them off their off balance and cross
spk_0 their face. But he has become an unbelievably effective slant route runner.
spk_0 And then when he's working in the middle of the field running through zones,
spk_0 he's got such a feel for tempo.
spk_0 You know, how many times you see guys just run to get covered?
spk_0 Like he's got a really good feel.
spk_0 I mean, I think that's the thing.
spk_0 These guys have been trained and taught very well by Heartland,
spk_0 your point book.
spk_0 But I think these both these players are so naturally instinctive and have just a great feel for the game.
spk_0 Yeah, no, they're really talented, man.
spk_0 They do a great job in.
spk_0 Deversatility is everything.
spk_0 And to me, when you're a number one or an aspiring number one,
spk_0 the more tools that you have in your toolbox to allow your offense coordinator to move your round,
spk_0 to get away from some of the tactics and double coverage and brackets and those things,
spk_0 you just need to have that in your arsenal.
spk_0 So I just feel like both of these guys are well equipped to always be impact players.
spk_0 Because you can do so many different things with them as young players,
spk_0 that you can only imagine as their knowledge base grows,
spk_0 what you're going to be able to do whether you're five, six, seven in the league.
spk_0 No doubt.
spk_0 Let's say quick pause.
spk_0 We'll jump back into a game.
spk_0 I was at the head wild turn.
spk_0 The commanders and the chargers will jump into that right after this.
spk_0 Hey, this Matt Jones.
spk_0 Now I'm Drew Franklin.
spk_0 And this is NFL cover zero.

spk_0 All right, guys, that was a weird one.
spk_0 I'd still fight yesterday.
spk_0 I mean, the charges are up 10-nothing.
spk_0 They're driving big completion to Quentin Johnson.
spk_0 You think it's going to be 17-nothing and it's going to be kind of a laffer.
spk_0 And then Quentin Johnson fumbles.
spk_0 And then it just changed the momentum of this game.
spk_0 But it was a game, Baldi, where the commanders got stronger.
spk_0 It's a game went along.
spk_0 The charges for the second weekend are a ton of penalties,
spk_0 double-digit penalties, some costly penalties,
spk_0 including a touchdown that was called back on a part-return.
spk_0 But man, I don't know how you go anywhere else
spk_0 than what that backfield looks like now, Washington.
spk_0 It's pretty exciting, man.
spk_0 Well, that bill crossed you, Merritt.
spk_0 I mean, this story, it has to continue to blow up.
spk_0 But he's, I mean, we saw, there was a reason why,
spk_0 you know, they traded Brian Robinson at the start of the season.
spk_0 Like, they saw this guy's ability.
spk_0 And the story's just an amazing story.
spk_0 Didn't play last year.
spk_0 All the stuff that we kind of talked about.
spk_0 But his put that foot in the ground, quickness.
spk_0 And the way that they are running the ball right now,
spk_0 using a variety of formations.
spk_0 Those tight ends are freaking leaky up in there, man.
spk_0 Like, Senate.
spk_0 That number 87 is as good a blocking tight end as there is right now in the league.
spk_0 And they run behind him a bunch.
spk_0 And so it's, you know, it's, it's, it's, it's always been cliffs.
spk_0 mantra honestly, even when he was at Texas Tech
spk_0 and even go back to A&M, like spread him out
spk_0 and figure out ways to open up the lanes.
spk_0 And we're going to, we're going to hit him quick.
spk_0 And he's got every run in the book.
spk_0 And it can be from on balance formations.
spk_0 It can be from power, power formations in the backfield.
spk_0 It can be, you know, out of the shotgun.
spk_0 It can be used in the quarterback as a decoy.
spk_0 He's got every variety of run that there is right now.
spk_0 Buck, they flipped.
spk_0 They flipped on one play, the quarterback and the running back.
spk_0 And then Merritt, big bad bill runs freaking wildcat.
spk_0 Like a zone reading gets right up into the hole.
spk_0 Like I mean, it was just, it was, it was very creative.
spk_0 And it wasn't just Bates, who's an unbelievable blocker.
spk_0 Senate did a nice job as well.
spk_0 82.
spk_0 Both those tight ends leading up into the hole.
spk_0 So they were, they were creative.
spk_0 They were physical.
spk_0 And they kind of, you know, look,
spk_0 when you, when you're looking at that team and you're sitting there going,
spk_0 okay, man, I looked at them on tape watching them.
spk_0 I'm like, the secondary's giving a more big plays than anybody in football.
spk_0 I don't know that they're all that dynamic and they're defensive front.
spk_0 And then all of a sudden you get a healthy Jaden Daniels back in there.
spk_0 And Mario did a nice job.
spk_0 But this is different.
spk_0 He's a different caliber guy.
spk_0 And it brings quarterbacks like that.
spk_0 And you've talked about it before.
spk_0 It just brings hope and it brings energy to the whole club.
spk_0 It brings energy.
spk_0 It was a whole coming for Jaden Daniels coming back.
spk_0 Played it all come home.
spk_0 High school.
spk_0 So this was the opportunity for all of his people to see him.
spk_0 And you knew he's going to put on a show.
spk_0 And I would say the thing that is really impressive, not only about him,
spk_0 but about the commander's team is,
spk_0 man, they go as he goes.
spk_0 And he's the drumbeat, but he has a calm demeanor about himself
spk_0 where the game doesn't get too high or out of source.
spk_0 And DJ, the thing that you said that stood out on tape was
spk_0 they're overall physicality.
spk_0 Like, you know, it's funny because Cliff Kingsbury
spk_0 gets to the, the rap of being the air raid wizard.
spk_0 They want to throw it all over the yard.
spk_0 But at the heart of hearts like they've run the football.
spk_0 The day and when it's working in Joe Witt Jr.,
spk_0 they're working to get this defense on track.
spk_0 And when you look at the landscape,
spk_0 you look at the NFC East and how tight it was
spk_0 and how they made ground,
spk_0 they stumbled out the gate for the last few weeks.
spk_0 We've seen this team kind of be the team
spk_0 that many of us expected.
spk_0 And so they're in the hunt.
spk_0 And as long as they have that quarterback healthy,
spk_0 they have a chance because they can go knock off anybody.
spk_0 DJ, I saw a Von Miller had a couple, a couple more sacks.
spk_0 Like, is he like the official closure right now?
spk_0 Does he still have Von Miller type, you know,
spk_0 like getting his hands on guys and just figuring out how to,
spk_0 you know, either band or come off a twist or whatever I have.
spk_0 Yeah, so I'm looking forward to seeing it.
spk_0 Yeah, he's still got the long arm.
spk_0 I mean, so he can dust that off.
spk_0 And then the chargers, I mean,
spk_0 Pippkins goes down.
spk_0 So you got your fourth and fifth tackles out there.
spk_0 Yeah, yeah.
spk_0 It was, I mean, he's in the no chance.
spk_0 But so you got overset issues and they had some wins inside of those tackles.
spk_0 So it was a tough one for Herbert from that standpoint.
spk_0 But I was thinking of it like, I know nothing about music.
spk_0 I've never had a music lesson.
spk_0 I've never played an instrument at all.
spk_0 But I have this image of like if your Cliff Kingsbury is your drummer.
spk_0 And the symbol is Debo Samuel because you just kind of hit in the drums.
spk_0 And it's like, oh, yeah, let's just get a little quick screen to Debo.
spk_0 Okay, boom, boom, boom, boom.
spk_0 Yeah, let's get a little quick screen to Debo.
spk_0 That's seven to 10 yards anytime you want it anytime you want to hit that little symbol
spk_0 and just shoot the ball out there.
spk_0 Debo Samuel by the time you get him on the ground, it's seven or eight yards.
spk_0 Do you think on Cliff's play sheet?
spk_0 He just has Debo plays like there's just 10 plays right there.
spk_0 Then he can, you know, second and seven.
spk_0 Okay, let's go get the first down.
spk_0 Like it's could be that simple right now.
spk_0 And the other thing is on those overrounds like a lot of times you think about overrounds.
spk_0 You think about, okay, it's a disappear speed.
spk_0 You're just trying to get from A to B as fast as you can.
spk_0 He is so good.
spk_0 I've never seen somebody so strong without using their hands
spk_0 where he'll just get up to the defender buck and it's just like a little shoulder
spk_0 and he's just so big and strong.
spk_0 It just kicks that corner off his path for two or three yards.
spk_0 And Debo is not the fastest guy at the world,
spk_0 but that little, that little nudge that he gives on those things.
spk_0 It's enough separation he needs to get across the field and make plays.
spk_0 Man, he is a little easy embodiment of why, you know,
spk_0 some teams prefer to have guys with pump return skills in the background about why.
spk_0 And when you see him and you think about his bodybuilder and how thick he is,
spk_0 DJ, the challenge that he poses to DB is just trying to get him down in space
spk_0 because he's a physical runner.
spk_0 He has big sides, big legs.
spk_0 He runs through arm tackles.
spk_0 And so you got to front him up to get him down.
spk_0 And the more they give him the ball,
spk_0 owner of short screens or whatever, the better he gets.
spk_0 When they get it all together, McLean and Debo and they kind of figure out
spk_0 what's the best combination to maximize everybody.
spk_0 Office is going to be more explosive than we could ever imagine.
spk_0 This is a really good team, a well-constructed team.
spk_0 And like the best is still yet to come for them as they're still turning over the roster.
spk_0 From your guys playing career,
spk_0 Valdibuck, is there any comp for historical comp for Debo?
spk_0 Just kind of how he plays.
spk_0 I mean, I know Sterling was so much faster.
spk_0 So that's the best solo one I can make.
spk_0 Thank you, Bob.
spk_0 He's certainly mad at his big.
spk_0 Yeah, he's using like that, but they could have.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 He's just like that.
spk_0 Yeah, I just couldn't just think, you know, sometimes,
spk_0 like I think Debo, he didn't wear out as welcome.
spk_0 They just didn't use them.
spk_0 I mean, they outside of putting me in the at the tailback position
spk_0 when they were short-handed, they didn't use them.
spk_0 I think the way Cliff is using him.
spk_0 I think it's just the perfect blend.
spk_0 The analogy with the with the symbol is pretty good there, DJ.
spk_0 I just feel like they just know how to use them, you know,
spk_0 and use his strengths.
spk_0 And it's like a really, it's a great fit early this season.
spk_0 All right, we don't need to spend long on these, these next few here.
spk_0 But I wanted to hit a couple things here.
spk_0 Houston, Baltimore, and I could go easily into the Baltimore bad,
spk_0 but I'm going to start Houston good, strad 23 at 27.
spk_0 And I know Baltimore's missing everybody,
spk_0 but they needed a game like that from him.
spk_0 244 yards, four touchdowns, no picks.
spk_0 It was interesting to watch the tape.
spk_0 When they were when they were in pocket,
spk_0 everything was in rhythm.
spk_0 There was some play action.
spk_0 If ball was gone, like they were not going to let this offensive line,
spk_0 you know, have be a stumbling block for him.
spk_0 So it was in the pocket, get the ball out quick,
spk_0 which obviously, you know,
spk_0 going to be able to get the ball vertical.
spk_0 When they wanted to take their shots down the field,
spk_0 it was boots and they were moving the pocket.
spk_0 So hey, we want to we want to be able to attack vertically,
spk_0 but we're not going to do that as a stationary target
spk_0 in the pocket behind an offensive line.
spk_0 It's a little suspect.
spk_0 So we're going to go ahead and get him on the move
spk_0 when we want to push the ball vertical.
spk_0 I thought it was a pretty good game plan from them
spk_0 that he executed really well.
spk_0 And then Jalen Petri had two picks,
spk_0 who's been a good player in this league since he came out of bail
spk_0 or he's got, he's kind of Johnny on the spot,
spk_0 always around the football.
spk_0 I thought the one two punch of
spk_0 Chubb and Woody Marx is pretty strong.
spk_0 I mean, that's the best offensive line play.
spk_0 I know they changed coordinators,
spk_0 you know, Ariante's over at left tackle.
spk_0 I've seen them both sides right now,
spk_0 but that was the best line played.
spk_0 And the running game, I thought they had a good one two punch
spk_0 in the run game yesterday.
spk_0 And then, you know, Nico's Nico, like they
spk_0 Baltimore had no idea what to do with him.
spk_0 I mean, it was one good throw after another.
spk_0 But, you know, Hutchinson came up pretty big.
spk_0 Is it Xavier Hutchinson?
spk_0 Yep, yep, Iowa State.
spk_0 Iowa State, yeah.
spk_0 Like I thought all the, you know,
spk_0 they got a whole bunch of Iowa State receivers.
spk_0 I think all those guys, you know,
spk_0 had good contributions yesterday.
spk_0 Buck, how about the Baltimore side?
spk_0 You want to be the bad guy?
spk_0 Yeah, Lord Man, it's bad.
spk_0 DJ is bad.
spk_0 Now, I know they had seven quote unquote pro bowlers
spk_0 that were sitting out.
spk_0 But still, man, it's not supposed to fall at this far off.
spk_0 And before I even talk about the lack of talent
spk_0 in terms of like that being off the fuel,
spk_0 to me, this is the first time in a long time
spk_0 that I've seen the Baltimore Ravens
spk_0 without their swag and their identity.
spk_0 They are a swaggerless team.
spk_0 This is a team that has always been able to lean into
spk_0 the, we may be sure handed, but we can beat you up.
spk_0 We can make it a, a brawl in those things.
spk_0 Right now, they don't have the confidence.
spk_0 And part of the reason they don't have the confidence
spk_0 because the first time in the long time,
spk_0 their defense is the weak link.
spk_0 They're bad on defense.
spk_0 I mean, they never had on the fundamental,
spk_0 the fundamental things, tackling,
spk_0 pursuit angles, alignment, basic stuff.
spk_0 Never seen the Ravens like this.
spk_0 And I know and never advocate for people
spk_0 losing jobs or whatever.
spk_0 And I know John Harbott through his full support
spk_0 behind Zach Orr.
spk_0 And I know they have other guys,
spk_0 but these are the clock is ticking.
spk_0 One in four, 14 that is as talented as they come.
spk_0 They have to fix this defense in a hurry.
spk_0 They got a week, then a by-week.
spk_0 But man, change has to come and has to come right now.
spk_0 Yeah, it's bad.
spk_0 And Calvin Ouy, his quote, which Gav put in the chat here,
spk_0 no excuses.
spk_0 I just watched the Niners have injuries.
spk_0 Go out there and play football as professionals.
spk_0 You get paid to play, so we have to go play better.
spk_0 We have to get our S together.
spk_0 Just being brutally honest, coaches can give us the plays,
spk_0 but we have to execute.
spk_0 And it doesn't matter who you are in there.
spk_0 Do your job.
spk_0 Coaches ask you to do something.
spk_0 Do it myself included.
spk_0 So yeah, they realize that it's not good enough
spk_0 the way they've played.
spk_0 I can't recall it.
spk_0 I can't recall because there never has been a Baltimore defense
spk_0 like this.
spk_0 Ever.
spk_0 Like this bad.
spk_0 Ever.
spk_0 Bad.
spk_0 Baldi Detroit Cincinnati.
spk_0 You were there, what'd you see?
spk_0 No, yesterday Detroit was rolling out
spk_0 a alumni of the University of British Columbia.
spk_0 You've been up there to recruit.
spk_0 No, tape only.
spk_0 No, tape only.
spk_0 Okay, so they've got two starting tackles in this league right now.
spk_0 All right.
spk_0 Yesterday, this Giovanni Manu made his first NFL start.
spk_0 He's a second year player from British Columbia
spk_0 that the kid Theosan, a Benedict in Chicago,
spk_0 starting at left tackle.
spk_0 So I talked to Hank Frailey.
spk_0 So Hank was kind of like, he's going up against good player.
spk_0 They've all found out what he's all about.
spk_0 But they let him go against, you know,
spk_0 Trey Henderson.
spk_0 Trey made a couple plays out there.
spk_0 He definitely got a force from Bullen.
spk_0 Made some plays, but the kid,
spk_0 the first one you see the kid.
spk_0 He's six, seven.
spk_0 He's long arms.
spk_0 He's got a shaved head.
spk_0 Like he looks the part.
spk_0 You know, and then you go and you go, okay,
spk_0 there's Penny Suol.
spk_0 There's the, there's the,
spk_0 the Mollett on Ratlitz right here.
spk_0 Like they've got this thing together up front.
spk_0 And so it doesn't matter if Montgomery's running
spk_0 or if he's throwing it or if it's Jumeir Gibbs.
spk_0 Like they've got a formula right now.
spk_0 And every week it seems like Johnny Morton's got a guy
spk_0 that's going to kind of be the,
spk_0 so yesterday, you know, the Titan had a big day.
spk_0 And it was crossing right there.
spk_0 They hit these crossing routes to him.
spk_0 And Demon Ross ain't brown.
spk_0 And honestly, it looks like a Friday afternoon walkthrough.
spk_0 Like basically, golf doesn't get hit.
spk_0 He stands there on his post and stand five yards.
spk_0 And he just carves him up.
spk_0 And it was, it was pretty impressive.
spk_0 They were really short handed in the secondary on defense.
spk_0 But the quarterback was so bad that even with Tomar Chase
spk_0 and Tee, I thought they could take advantage of it out there.
spk_0 And they just, he was just so bad.
spk_0 I don't know what he was doing.
spk_0 It was, it was, it was really rough to watch.
spk_0 They can't run the ball at all.
spk_0 They're last in offense.
spk_0 They made a couple plays in the fourth quarter
spk_0 to try to, try to stay in the game a little bit.
spk_0 But it was, it was hard to watch.
spk_0 Man, it was, I was, that was a big down pretty good.
spk_0 Joe Burrow might get MVP votes, Buck.
spk_0 He should get MVP votes based on how they look without him.
spk_0 They are, I mean, it's just a bad football team
spk_0 in his funny, right?
spk_0 Because I'm there when Joe Burrow gets hurt.
spk_0 Jake Browning comes in and the second half he gets hot.
spk_0 And then the world got the tape and was like,
spk_0 OK, we're going to cut that off.
spk_0 And now what?
spk_0 And they haven't been able to do anything.
spk_0 And I have seen Jake Browning at his best couple years ago
spk_0 when he stepped in and kind of had them in contention
spk_0 for a playoff.
spk_0 So but he's, look, he's been bad.
spk_0 It's criminal in terms of the wasted town
spk_0 that they have on the perimeter when you don't have anybody
spk_0 who can get them the ball.
spk_0 But here's the biggest thing.
spk_0 I think one of the issues, Buck, and why Jake Browning,
spk_0 you know, isn't playing a worth of darn is,
spk_0 they look like they're running the same offense
spk_0 that Joe Burrow runs.
spk_0 You know, and Joe just goes through progressions
spk_0 like nobody else in his business.
spk_0 So he can take a peek at tomorrow.
spk_0 OK, they got him bracketed.
spk_0 OK, I'm coming over to the other side.
spk_0 Like, Jake can't play like that.
spk_0 So I don't see some of the creativity DJ
spk_0 that we see in his league to get guys loose,
spk_0 to shake them loose.
spk_0 Where it's, you know, like what they're doing in Indianapolis
spk_0 for, you know, Daniel Jones right now.
spk_0 Like they don't, they're not doing those kind of things
spk_0 to get to the ball or to get tomorrow the ball.
spk_0 And you know, it's not, it, it, it,
spk_0 it's an indictment on Brown.
spk_0 He's not good enough, but don't ask Browning to be Joe Burrow
spk_0 out there and play quarterback.
spk_0 Yeah, what Joe Burrow is the best whack-a-mo player in the NFL.
spk_0 I mean, like if there's these, he sees the entire board
spk_0 and is able to react to it unlike anybody else.
spk_0 So there's not just a Browning thing.
spk_0 I don't know many quarterbacks.
spk_0 It could play the way the Burrow plays.
spk_0 I want to go back over to golf real quick.
spk_0 I wrote this down like, you know, you're
spk_0 watching guys in a different positions.
spk_0 And you're sitting there going, you know, if I had a high school
spk_0 quarterback, and I wanted to have somebody
spk_0 with teaching tape.
spk_0 Yeah, I don't know anybody thinks that golf might be the one
spk_0 that I would pick because I've always been taught, you know,
spk_0 it's almost like the John Wood thing, be quick, but not in a hurry.
spk_0 You know, you want to have quick feet, but you don't want to be,
spk_0 you know, too frazzled or too, too, too, too frenetic or too busy.
spk_0 He has got really, really quick feet, but everything he does
spk_0 is so smooth and fluid and easy.
spk_0 And part of that I get is because the offensive line is so good
spk_0 and they afford him clean pockets.
spk_0 But he throws from a firm platform.
spk_0 It's everything is textbook about what he does.
spk_0 They did a ton of stuff in this game where they pair up the tight ends
spk_0 on the same side and they had, you know, like,
spk_0 think about creativity and some of the stuff they did.
spk_0 That was, that was an effective way form.
spk_0 But I just thought, man, this is the best quick, smooth, fluid,
spk_0 you know, quarterback when I was growing up and I was young,
spk_0 but I used to always, and when I just started playing in college,
spk_0 like they would always show us stuff of Montana.
spk_0 That was the guy.
spk_0 He was like, okay, he's not the biggest guy.
spk_0 I don't have the strongest arm, right thing.
spk_0 But look how fluid and smooth he is.
spk_0 Like, like, just be a smooth and fluid.
spk_0 We used to talk about even like kind of rocking the ball on your drop,
spk_0 like kind of from shoulder to shoulder and just kind of a
spk_0 little louder stuff to get a nice little smooth rhythm to it.
spk_0 And, and golf plays it that way.
spk_0 So he was, you know, again, foreign
spk_0 completions.
spk_0 There's a lot of games.
spk_0 Recorderbacks just didn't throw in completions.
spk_0 He only had four completions and three touchdowns.
spk_0 So he is great.
spk_0 Almost 40 points again.
spk_0 These lines.
spk_0 Easy.
spk_0 Yeah, even.
spk_0 I mean, let me put them off their gas in the fourth quarter.
spk_0 Let me, let me say this because I might have been the biggest skeptic
spk_0 when it came to John Morton and David Shron.
spk_0 All these guys taken over for Ben Johnson.
spk_0 All of the physical and fun stuff that Ben Johnson has done.
spk_0 They've been able to continue to do some of that while finding their identity.
spk_0 And listen to a Monroe St. Brown talk to Dave Montgomery on a podcast.
spk_0 And they were talking about the differences between
spk_0 Ben Johnson and Johnny Moe and how Johnny Moe is direct.
spk_0 And he's a little different when it comes to the edginess of his presentations.
spk_0 But they've retained some of this fun stuff.
spk_0 And they still have, I would say like the physicality and toughness,
spk_0 the wildcat play down at the goal on Montgomery doing the jump pass.
spk_0 Like they still have some of that stuff.
spk_0 I just give John Moe a lot of credit because I think he stepped into some
spk_0 big shoes to replace because you had an expectation of what this
spk_0 office has been.
spk_0 It's hard to keep the points up, the physicality up,
spk_0 mixing some fun plays and do all that.
spk_0 But he's found a way to do it within his own personality.
spk_0 So it has off to him for being able to take that over and do it.
spk_0 Well, I'm putting up 40 and really James and Williams
spk_0 but very quiet the last two weeks.
spk_0 And so like once they get him going in his speed,
spk_0 like it's, I don't know, I don't know if anybody can slow him down right now.
spk_0 Have they told you, Baldi, how much they're giving off?
spk_0 It feels like he's got maybe a little more control in this environment
spk_0 that maybe he's had.
spk_0 I just talked to him briefly on the field before the game.
spk_0 I mean, he takes his warm up pretty serious.
spk_0 So you don't want to interrupt too much of that.
spk_0 But he just has a, like just the level of focus,
spk_0 you know, going on the road, incense and adi.
spk_0 The crowd was all there, like just the focus that he plays with.
spk_0 Like he just blocks all that stuff out.
spk_0 And it is, he sees the field so good.
spk_0 But he had Laporta early in that game so many times.
spk_0 I did, they had no answer for some of the stuff they were doing.
spk_0 No, and on the defensive side of the ball,
spk_0 five quarterback hits for Eden Hutchinson.
spk_0 He's got five sacks this year.
spk_0 I went back and watched all of his sacks.
spk_0 He's winning all the ways, man.
spk_0 Power.
spk_0 You would have safety yesterday.
spk_0 DJ, if wasn't for a little contact,
spk_0 Ontario and Arnold, be out of here.
spk_0 You had a safety, you know, add to that, that resume right now.
spk_0 It was impressive.
spk_0 And you know, the burst is still there.
spk_0 What he can escape and close.
spk_0 There's some, there's some change of direction stuff.
spk_0 Like he worked diet, a spin in a previous game.
spk_0 Or he'd not quite as fluid coming off that injury,
spk_0 which I'm sure that's going to come.
spk_0 But him speed, power, his hands are awesome.
spk_0 Like he looks like he's he's backing you kind of man.
spk_0 You don't want to look in the rear view mirror.
spk_0 What if he didn't get hurt last year?
spk_0 You know, what does that mean for that Detroit team?
spk_0 I talked to, I talked to Zeus before the game.
spk_0 And he'd never played him before.
spk_0 But he knew that, you know, we're talking about Max effort.
spk_0 He makes more plays and they're the side of the field
spk_0 than any defensive end of this league right now.
spk_0 Like his effort is just, you know, I mean,
spk_0 He's got Jared Allen traits to him.
spk_0 That's who he reminded me of when he was coming out.
spk_0 And not just doing the white on white,
spk_0 the edge ruster comparison there.
spk_0 But that just the effort, like Jared Allen never stopped.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 He didn't stop.
spk_0 That's it.
spk_0 Hey, this Matt Joltz,
spk_0 not Drew Franklin.
spk_0 And this is NFL cover zero.
spk_0 We're just here to try to give you an NFL perspective
spk_0 a little bit different.
spk_0 Did you see the Colts pretzel that was mother big takeaway from that?
spk_0 What was that?
spk_0 Oh, my.
spk_0 We think NFL coverage should be informative and entertaining.
spk_0 And twice a week, that is exactly what you're going to get.

spk_0 All right, let's last one here.
spk_0 And then we'll be on let Boatty get on his way here.
spk_0 Giants, Saints.
spk_0 Hey, the Saints won a game.
spk_0 Spencer Ratler won a game, Boatty.
spk_0 Yeah, no, I mean, and you know, he has been playing pretty well.
spk_0 But I got this, you know, they had to hit the big shot
spk_0 to Rashid Shahid, which really kind of opened things up.
spk_0 They got to turn overs.
spk_0 But he's been playing well.
spk_0 Like, you know, they had Buffalo 2116 to third in a fourth quarter.
spk_0 They were driving last week and they let it get away from them.
spk_0 They had Arizona like right down to the wire.
spk_0 They've been playing pretty good.
spk_0 Kellymore's, he's a good coordinator.
spk_0 He's, he just knows how to run off and say,
spk_0 they got a good one, two punch with Kendra Miller.
spk_0 And, you know, and a Cameras can still do it.
spk_0 They had a rookie, a rookie right guard,
spk_0 you know, that never played before in there.
spk_0 And the Giants didn't take advantage of.
spk_0 In fact, Spencer Ratler, I don't think he got sacked in the game.
spk_0 I don't even know if he got hit.
spk_0 So he looked good.
spk_0 He took off and he ran a couple times.
spk_0 But he hit the big shot when it was there.
spk_0 Just, he's there deep threat.
spk_0 I thought he was, I thought he played really well.
spk_0 He's got a live arm, man.
spk_0 Just going back through that.
spk_0 He has got a really, he actually does.
spk_0 I know it's not just Oklahoma thing,
spk_0 but the ball comes out similar to Baker.
spk_0 Like it, ball jumps out of his hand when he's driving the ball outside.
spk_0 The number is not a big, big guy,
spk_0 but he's got a loose, live arm book.
spk_0 Yeah, I mean, look, it's something to watch these two teams, right?
spk_0 Because you're thinking of Giants
spk_0 or about to get it going.
spk_0 Jackson Dark comes in, the first drive that he had looked terrific.
spk_0 And then just, man, just the turnovers.
spk_0 Like, I think they have five drives in a row
spk_0 that just were just debauchos.
spk_0 And you just can't have those kinds of things
spk_0 when you're a team that can't overwhelm people.
spk_0 And I just look at the Giants and I just think like,
spk_0 I like the fun stuff that they're doing.
spk_0 I like how they're trying to maximize it.
spk_0 But he has to value the ball.
spk_0 And then sometimes, Dave Ball has to kind of help him
spk_0 by calling things that don't put him in a situation
spk_0 where he is exposed where he can't turn the ball over.
spk_0 And no Malik neighbors sucks, man.
spk_0 You're hoping to really get a chance to watch this young quarterback
spk_0 growing develop when you lose your big time weapon.
spk_0 So, can I say this?
spk_0 Because the ball is great.
spk_0 Body, did you see Camp Scatiboo on the block?
spk_0 I know they lost, but holy,
spk_0 smoked in terms of just like,
spk_0 a full stature.
spk_0 Like, just man up under and just like,
spk_0 he rolls people, he mulls, he blocks people, man.
spk_0 He gets all up in the grill.
spk_0 It looks like MMA stuff in the octagon, man.
spk_0 Like the way that he takes people down.
spk_0 Yeah, he did it on the draw last week.
spk_0 So he's done it a couple of weeks in a row here.
spk_0 But yeah, congrats to Kellin Moore.
spk_0 He's a great dude.
spk_0 He is a very good coach.
spk_0 And I just didn't think they'd have enough players to be competitive.
spk_0 And they've been competitive, as you mentioned.
spk_0 They've been competitive.
spk_0 And they got themselves a win here.
spk_0 So congrats to them.
spk_0 Also, love kind of doing a lot more RPO stuff with Rattler too.
spk_0 He's very comfortable with all that.
spk_0 So, hey, Dylan Gabriel real quick had a good,
spk_0 I know they didn't win the game, but he was good.
spk_0 He was efficient.
spk_0 I think, hey, there's nothing I saw there that would say I'm looking anywhere else.
spk_0 I'm going to roll him until until.
spk_0 Well, you look at that.
spk_0 You look at the first touchdown to Fanon.
spk_0 There's Fanon.
spk_0 You know, there's Quinshaw and Jungkins.
spk_0 There's Dylan.
spk_0 I mean, they got the rookies all out there.
spk_0 Yeah, you know, Dylan Samson's plan.
spk_0 So all the judges trust him.
spk_0 They're league to team tackles every week.
spk_0 Mason Graham's been really good.
spk_0 I mean, look, they're they're in a rebuild mode.
spk_0 But I thought he got rid of the ball quickly, accurately.
spk_0 You know, we had him in contention right to the very end.
spk_0 Yeah, no good stuff there from Dylan Gabriel.
spk_0 We'll see how the rest of those rookies play the rest of the year again.
spk_0 They've got they'll be watching the Jags game tonight, Buck Cleveland.
spk_0 Intently paying attention to your legs.
spk_0 Of course, of course, they're chiefs with their chiefs hats on.
spk_0 I mean, I know like hopefully the Jags don't give them anything to be excited about.
spk_0 Yeah, they got a couple picks here in the first round next year.
spk_0 So it could be exciting days ahead here for Cleveland.
spk_0 Baldi, appreciate your time on Monday's.
spk_0 Everybody loves these things, man.
spk_0 They're great.
