spk_0 I mean, this is a sport that's on the precipice of a relevance.
spk_0 The games are taking over three and a half hours.
spk_0 Playoff games are taking over four hours.
spk_0 Games too long too slow. Who cares?
spk_0 This is a situation where baseball is in trouble to begin with.
spk_0 I hate to bring you to baseball's dead.
spk_0 Baseball is dead.
spk_0 Rust in peace.
spk_0 To my spirit.
spk_0 I'm a broken man.
spk_0 Man.
spk_0 I'm a broken man.
spk_0 I uh...
spk_0 Whoo.
spk_0 Um, I'm coming down from it.
spk_0 We go.
spk_0 Oh yeah, too.
spk_0 Yeah, too. Yeah, losers couch.
spk_0 Yeah, I mean, I'm right.
spk_0 I mean, I'm getting there, like, I don't know.
spk_0 I feel like...
spk_0 That's a lie.
spk_0 No, I am.
spk_0 I'm late in the lie.
spk_0 No, it's not.
spk_0 I...
spk_0 We did section 10 first to decompress so that I could face the music with Dallas,
spk_0 which I obviously know he's not going to make this an easy podcasting experience for me tonight.
spk_0 But I mean, I'm obviously not happy.
spk_0 I'm miserable.
spk_0 I'm going to be miserable tomorrow.
spk_0 I'm going to be miserable for the next month probably.
spk_0 It depends on what the Yankees do from here.
spk_0 It could get worse potentially.
spk_0 It's tough to hear.
spk_0 Yeah, I mean, you don't want to think of your, your team is like the...
spk_0 The launching pin, right?
spk_0 That's what we're trying to avoid right now.
spk_0 Just feelings like this was kind of like the greaser for them.
spk_0 No.
spk_0 Just kind of warm them up.
spk_0 No, like that...
spk_0 If you're a red fan, you can definitely say that about the Dodgers.
spk_0 Like that was just like, you know, a scrimmage for the Dodgers.
spk_0 I've heard some red socks fans refer to this as like understanding this was their world series.
spk_0 It was like they're just not in a position to go much further than this like expectation.
spk_0 No, no, no, no, no.
spk_0 Basically what the roster has been able to say.
spk_0 That's not what I said.
spk_0 That's not what I said.
spk_0 That's not what I said.
spk_0 You said that.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 You know, guilty show a hand.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 No, I said that it was the red socks.
spk_0 It was their world series, but I still think that they could have beaten Toronto.
spk_0 But other than that, no, that was all just like found money at that point.
spk_0 So the J's or Bums is what you're saying?
spk_0 No, no, but the red socks played them really well in September.
spk_0 I think that they could have they could have given Toronto a series.
spk_0 But yeah, they should have beaten New York.
spk_0 They didn't they beat themselves.
spk_0 And but since an addy like that series was...
spk_0 I mean, the Dodgers playing in the wild card round like...
spk_0 I mean, going into the season, if I told you that the Dodgers were going to be playing in the wild card round,
spk_0 you'd be like, what the fuck happened?
spk_0 It's yeah, it's laughable that the Dodgers were even eaten a while.
spk_0 But they laughed as they played the reds.
spk_0 Like if you go back and watch the highlights of that series,
spk_0 well, there's a lot of smiles.
spk_0 There's a lot of laughter for the Dodgers.
spk_0 They were just it was almost like they played like an inner squad game,
spk_0 but they played like their high a affiliate.
spk_0 Yeah, there were clips of Tiasco Hernandez looking at highlights of the picture
spk_0 that was coming into the game and that he just promptly pissed on a baseball
spk_0 and hit it out of the park.
spk_0 Otani.
spk_0 I mean, the, the, yeah, that just felt like it was not fair to begin with.
spk_0 We all knew that if there was any shot in hell,
spk_0 Hunter Green was going to have to come out and perform the way Cam Slitler did tonight.
spk_0 Did you see that?
spk_0 I did see that.
spk_0 That was, that was an incredible run, incredible run for Slitler.
spk_0 But that was not going to happen for Hunter Green.
spk_0 That was the downfall of the reds hopes.
spk_0 What so ever was a struggling Hunter Green, three innings, five in runs, I think.
spk_0 But I mean, yeah, nobody was giving the reds a realistic chance in that series.
spk_0 Is there anything that we take away from that series?
spk_0 I mean, I feel like we're just going to be bouncing around from series to series.
spk_0 Oh, we want to start.
spk_0 Let's go in the order of the, the slate.
spk_0 Let's, let's start with Tiger's Guardians because that series to me.
spk_0 I don't know if you guys feel the same way.
spk_0 That almost felt like the heavyweight bout that deserved not the one o'clock start time.
spk_0 Like I feel like the way that it played out in September that, I guess the storyline going into it was the best one.
spk_0 You can obviously go back to the well a million times.
spk_0 Be like, oh, but it's Red Sox Yankees and obviously geographic location matters when it comes to the wild car round and the time slots that they have.
spk_0 But the way that the Cleveland Guardians erased a 15 and a half game deficit.
spk_0 The way that they had a 0.4% chance of winning the division entering the month of September.
spk_0 The way that they did win the division, the way that they had to play the Detroit Tigers in the month of September in order to leapfrog them and beating scu-bull in the process of doing that to secure home field in which they did that.
spk_0 The series went three games and the Detroit Tigers were just like, that's nice.
spk_0 But we're actually just going to dismiss that real quick and move on.
spk_0 And those are, those are all good reasons, I think, to, to want to give them.
spk_0 And I think frankly to say that those two teams sort of earned that stage, meaning not the one o'clock game, but something a little later.
spk_0 But I think we also kind of touched on how it's a combination of the Tigers losing all of those games, the Guardians winning all of those games at just the right time.
spk_0 So it wasn't like it was a heavyweight battle back and forth down the stretch that got you all excited about what this series was going to look like.
spk_0 It was just a, oh my god, I can't believe that happened.
spk_0 These two teams were locked in it with each other and are now going to be playing again after these two teams just had to win 15 in a row basically and lose 15 in a row for them to get here.
spk_0 So initially, yes, but then we talked about the star power, the lack of per se and is that giving you the prime time slot, probably not.
spk_0 So on the surface, yes, exciting storyline to follow.
spk_0 I think once you're probably sitting in the middle of game two, looking at things unfold the way they did, you're going, well, I mean, is this really like shit?
spk_0 Well, let me, let me ask you guys a question before we kind of break down each series.
spk_0 What wild card matchup from each league deserved or would have made the best LCS matchup wise.
spk_0 Matchup wise.
spk_0 I mean, I think it's probably the man, I mean, I hate to say Yankees red socks, but I feel like the Yankees red socks.
spk_0 I feel like a lot of people had questions about what the red socks were going to be able to do on the mound.
spk_0 I think you saw, Connolly early pitch well enough tonight where if you would have had some defensive support behind him, the narrative around what they might be able to do later shifts just a bit.
spk_0 I mean, they again, you know, Gio Lido, but then I look at the, the Padres bullpen or excuse me, the Padres series.
spk_0 And I mean, just I don't know, not a whole lot of not a whole lot of excitement offensively, you know, so I don't know LCS wise.
spk_0 What do you think, Jay?
spk_0 I don't think it's that complicated. I think it's the red socks in the Yankees.
spk_0 That's I mean, I just think, you know, we can give all the respect we want to guards tigers, but, you know, one of those series is Aaron judge in the New York Yankees against the Boston red socks and the other one isn't.
spk_0 And it's not like there's more hidden star power in guardians tigers, then there is red socks Yankees. In fact, there's still way more in red socks Yankees.
spk_0 So that would be my answer.
spk_0 You know, are we talking, where do we talk of tigers guards now?
spk_0 Yeah. Yeah. So I think, I mean, to me, it's just all about game one.
spk_0 You know, and obviously it's a three game series. You can be reductive and whatever any game could be the swing game.
spk_0 But it is game one for me. I know how dominant scuba was. I know how historically significant his pitching performance was, but it was a one to one game through six.
spk_0 Not only were they in a position to potentially take the game from that point forward, they put themselves in position to, you know, recapture control of the game in the ninth inning against not scuba, right?
spk_0 Vest. I mean, the point being it wasn't scuba though.
spk_0 Yeah. And that's where I so like looking at what the Detroit Tigers did.
spk_0 What did I talk about needing to happen if they were going to have any chance at all?
spk_0 You got to capitalize on the scuba game, book it.
spk_0 And from there, somebody in the bullpen is going to have to step up.
spk_0 I hope that Casey Mines was going to be able to put together a good start.
spk_0 Not an extensive start by any stretch three innings, one and run.
spk_0 What happens? The bullpen comes in and they get the job done for the most part.
spk_0 I mean, you go back and look at what was I looking at you, you remove the, the outing from, uh, from Melton and the Tigers bullpen over this series, point eight seven ERA.
spk_0 You remove the one, the third of an inning that had a four run blowup.
spk_0 You take that out of what the Tigers did in their bullpen, Vest, uh, three innings to score this baseball, uh, Holtens, uh, three in a third.
spk_0 So six and a third total innings from those two dudes scoreless out of the bullpen.
spk_0 I mean, it just for their starting staff, 15 and a third innings, 1.76 ERA between scuba, flirty and mice, flirty four and two thirds, one earn run.
spk_0 So again, getting removed. What happens? The bullpen for the most part for the Tigers outside of the one blow up third of an inning did exactly what we are what I hoped they were going to do.
spk_0 And really the only shot they were going to have in the face of what the guardians were going to be able to do or we expected to do with their bullpen.
spk_0 Uh, difficult question for J. Hey, yeah, did the right team win?
spk_0 I think it a lot of ways. Yes. In most ways. Yes. Um, you know, uh, run differential is an easy just way out of this, but they were a superior team by that by quite a bit.
spk_0 Obviously, the guardians with the rare team that had a negative run differential that made the postseason.
spk_0 Um, I don't think there was an enormous amount of separation between these two teams, but I do think that, uh, it's perfectly fine that the Tigers won.
spk_0 I think it's just uniquely frustrating that the guardians executed the biggest comeback in, you know, divisional sports history.
spk_0 And then promptly lost in a series to that same team while actually outscoring that team in that series, uh, not that three game run differentials mean a lot, but it's it.
spk_0 It just all feels well, kind of pointless that you had a great tweet. I mean, if you want to just read your own tweeter or summarize it or whatever, but I do think there's a lot that summarizes the frustration in a lot of ways too.
spk_0 I said the Cleveland guardians coming all the way back from 15 and a half games down 0.4% chance of winning the division at the start of September just to lose to the team they overtook for the division in the first round of the playoffs is why sports are stupid.
spk_0 So people, I mean, I don't know, I guess if you're unfamiliar with my content, you could take that as I'm a guardians fan. So I mean, you can swap out stupid. You could say it's amazing. Like that's why sports are amazing.
spk_0 Like I didn't I didn't have a dog in the fight. I didn't care who won the series. I was just looking forward to a quality series. And I think we got that, you know, it coming down to a, a decisive game three, which was great. I think we would have been very disappointed if one team just came in and won both.
spk_0 I think it deserved the full the full three games. We got that. So yeah, sure. If you want to sub out stupid and put in amazing. Sure. I just didn't want to, I get I don't know. There's like that last word there.
spk_0 It means it means so many different things. Like like stupid like stupid like wild like it's crazy. It's unpredictable. Like that's why sports are just that's why sports are sports are sports.
spk_0 Sure. I stupid just yeah, just like wild unpredictable. If I said amazing, then it would have come off as I was rooting for the Tigers and stupid comes off as I'm rooting for the guardians. I was just rooting for good playoff baseball. We got that.
spk_0 Yeah. I just yeah. Yeah. And I also think like, you know, I can be personally disappointed that the guardians lost Cleveland fans can be but like let's not mistake this idea that the guardians were some hard luck.
spk_0 Like had an enormous amount of world series equity and invested a lot in this season to try and make themselves a winner.
spk_0 They were a complete afterthought for 90% of the season 85% of the season and then became the story arguably of the final three weeks month of the season.
spk_0 So like I'm not they deserve to be there great that they were there. But this was a team that was undone mostly by flaws that were a foreseeable prior to the start of the season and had played themselves out during the season.
spk_0 Yeah. What? Yeah, Cam. Little slit Larry follow me on Twitter. Yeah. Coming for the for the for the guardians. I mean, their offense is asked and it's been asked for a lot of time. They never shows up in the post.
spk_0 They hit 178 this year or 178 in the series as a unit. I believe that is the worst performing team in the wild card round. So no offense performed worse than the guardians offense.
spk_0 Yeah. I can't confirm that. That's just my rough guess because there was not much offense going anywhere else, but that. Yes. That was not. No. And I believe in the last four trips to the playoffs.
spk_0 It's fewer than four runs scored in eight of the 12 games now. So that's just not going to. I do want to take a moment here to shout out.
spk_0 Yeah. No, you did that entirely too much during the stream. No, but only deserves it now. I think 455 in the series. This is a guy who nobody had penciled in the lineup as consistently as he found himself in the lineup.
spk_0 Not only in center field, we're talking outfield all star. Havi bias, folks. Let's let's not forget that. Yeah. And for him to hit 455, the second highest OPS on the team during the series.
spk_0 That Havi bias. I said it to J. Hey, don't sleep if Havi bias is right in the middle of what the Tigers do this series. And he was defensively and offensively.
spk_0 Cam Schletler follows just 76 people on Twitter and one of them is me now. Come for that. He's yeah. You know what shout out to Cam Schletler. We'll get to that series, but he absolutely dominated tonight. You got to tip your cap to him.
spk_0 But on the Havi bias point though, I mean, it's not just about shouting him out for this series. It's about shouting him out for his whole season, which I think Dallas is making that point. Yeah. It has been. I mean, come back player the year. Like who am I missing? That's not him. I've been shouting out all year long for that.
spk_0 For the fat for the versatility that he's provided and the fact that this was a guy who when you look at what the Tigers were ever going to do, it had to do with Havi bias playing a role.
spk_0 And the fact that they weren't doing what you expected them to do. It was because what? Havi bias was swinging it shit in the third deck on the mezzanine level. Like that. It just.
spk_0 So you had nowhere to go, but you had to. You had to roll them out there and then at the very end of the season last year, it's like, no, we're going to find a place for Havi. I think something's hurt. Obviously, I had a bark in hand. You right? Like there's every reason you could to get him off the field. But now.
spk_0 Here he is. Yeah. I think it's also just you go back to the money that was left on the contract and the conversations that we're being had of like.
spk_0 All right. Like let's pull up the record books. How much money? What's the what are we going to eat? Yeah, we're talking Josh Hamilton. We're talking.
spk_0 Pablo Sanovall, like the most money on a DFA in baseball history. We were having that conversation with Havi bias. This dude. I mean, obviously playing the infield. We saw the the El Mago tag in in a on Jose Reyes today.
spk_0 But the play just going into a completely different position, you know, not even just like going from short to second, second to short. Dude went to the fucking outfield.
spk_0 Yeah, all start team. Yeah. Like that's a huge deal. Yeah. That's a huge deal. So it is age what, 33 season. Yeah, 33 or 34 season. Yeah. Like that's impressive to do. Yeah.
spk_0 I don't know. I mean, I hope the Tigers have enough offense in the next round, whether or not that that is real. I think remains to be seen because they they did not swing at all too well in totality. But they were able to capitalize on a terrible performance. I was absolutely dominant.
spk_0 And some guys coming out of the bull pinnacle just the right time and doing just enough. That's how that went. Yeah. Like a Jack fly already man. Good for him. They were they were bugging when they were at Fenway. I got to talk to him on that Friday night when the socks clenched and yeah, those those ass cheeks were tight. Oh, yeah, when they were in Boston trying to just get into the postseason and knowing what lied ahead and not letting. I mean, that's got to be a mind fuck when you think you're in cruise control for the entire season.
spk_0 And then here come the guardians. They can't fucking lose. And then that's also the team that you draw the second you get to October, you had to fight until 162 just to get in. Then you get there. And it's like, ah, fuck here the guardians and we have to go to Cleveland.
spk_0 I go, I go back to the series that they were in in sack because I talked to them both. I talked to scoops for a long time, talked to Jack for a little while. But it was like it was the same conversation basically. And it was just about the need to have to do
spk_0 a little things. Man, we just got to play catch. We got to do the little things because right now it just feels like that's where we're getting beat. We're not doing the little things.
spk_0 And you know how those those things start to build. They start to mount. You start to stack L's just like you do wins. And you know, that's kind of where they were at.
spk_0 But they have that.
spk_0 The guardians to a nine and winner take all games worst in baseball history. What was the qualifier?
spk_0 Mid-oom 10 games.
spk_0 Outch.
spk_0 Yeah. So now the the gritty tigs go on to face the number two seed Seattle Mariners in the division series.
spk_0 Oh, I heard nobody.
spk_0 No, there's a lot of people to care about that. A lot of people have that little little surgeon, semen.
spk_0 Surgeon to the very.
spk_0 And people are surgeon to the underdog fantasy app to bet on.
spk_0 Dallas is pick comes because this is we're gonna have to edit that. I can't say the word bet, right?
spk_0 Can't I'll say that?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 People are surgeons. The underdog fantasy app to check out Dallas's pick comes because you've been you've been hot.
spk_0 You've been hot.
spk_0 You've been doing all right.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 You've been doing all right.
spk_0 Underdog fantasy app is the easiest place to play fantasy sports playing their pick and game is as simple as selecting higher or lower on player stats like strikeouts, total basis, home runs and so much more.
spk_0 What was your what was your pick and for today?
spk_0 Uh, pick and today was you, Darvish. We needed three and a third innings out of him.
spk_0 We needed three and a half punch outs from Connolly early and we needed four and a half punch outs from cam slitler.
spk_0 Cam Schlittler, Jared provided many many punch outs. Connolly early also hit his mark.
spk_0 Yeah, it was unfortunate though. You Darvish not quite enough to hit the mark. Yeah.
spk_0 Make sure you sign with the promo code, Jared. That's J A R E D to get it to $1,000 bonus cash and a special pick on underdog that's underdog fantasy promo code.
spk_0 Jared.
spk_0 What are you going to do?
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Very excited for that series.
spk_0 Are you guys are you guys down to when is the division series start Saturday?
spk_0 Saturday Saturday.
spk_0 Do we want to do like do we want to do like a like a mini breakdown the division series pod or do we want to do that on this one?
spk_0 Uh, just for the sake of getting J A home.
spk_0 Yeah, let's do let's do let's do one later.
spk_0 All right.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 Next up the Padres and the Cubs went head to head and this was this was a very intriguing series for me just because I thought either team could go on a run and appear in the NLCS.
spk_0 Unfortunately, they meet up in the wild card. I think both teams were capable of getting there.
spk_0 Uh, I guess in my opinion, the right team moved on, but the Padres were the team for me because of their bullpen alone that you just, I don't know, I felt like they could have gotten there easily just based on if we we scrap out a couple of runs here in the first three innings, we can just toss it over to the pen and it's ball game over.
spk_0 Uh, when you score one run, it's that it's not going to work that way.
spk_0 No, and their bullpen look at the Padres bullpen was elite, lead, Padres bullpen, 15 or third, two earn runs, 20 punchouts in 15 or third, just two not their fault, not their fault, not their problem is when you don't have a lead to hold or lead to protect those outings are in vain because you need the offense to do something collectively they hit 189 as a group this series.
spk_0 Two, homers, seven total extra bass hits.
spk_0 That's, that's not great. No, it's not great. No against a cup seam who frankly were not offensive like world beaters themselves.
spk_0 It wasn't like a, it wasn't a firework show, Jay, hey, by any means.
spk_0 No, but they did tap into what we sort of talked about beforehand, which was the long ball.
spk_0 It was not a firework show, but they did use the long ball enough to generate runs in a way that the Padres were not able to know we did talk about that beforehand.
spk_0 Padres were, I believe, second to last and baseball in homeruns hit this season.
spk_0 Um, and you know, it was they were three for 26 flip, with runners and scoring position as well.
spk_0 Is it, is it as easy? Is it as simple as Pee Crow Armstrong being present, like contributing even mildly?
spk_0 Is it as easy as that? I mean, him being a factor is huge. Right.
spk_0 He was a non factor in the second half and having him be a contributor at all is quite literally series changing.
spk_0 And it was.
spk_0 And today's was three singles, I believe, which whatever it's singles, but I just think it's interesting.
spk_0 Well, those were all his hits, his, his, but in the game deciding or in the series deciding game, right?
spk_0 And, and given his issues with contact down the stretch and then the second half of the season that it wasn't him running into a solo homer, it was him making contact and getting on base three separate times.
spk_0 I thought that was interesting. Well, we show him that they showed it.
spk_0 We were talking about like just the adjustments, the simplification of the approach of the plate to just get the ball in play because of what a weapon he can be if he gets on base, right?
spk_0 That's second and third. If you want it, that's a fun that's scoring on a ball on a gap from first, no problem.
spk_0 Took like just get your ass on base. Can we talk about the pods for a second, please?
spk_0 So, you know, I know that everybody's on the same page that the moves they made were win now, you know, leverage the future for the present sort of moves.
spk_0 They get bounced in the wild card while the tea the area that they strengthened delivered as you outlined in every way that they could have hope for the lead dog individually was as dominant as any relief picture could possibly be.
spk_0 When he was given the opportunity and yet for the second straight postseason, they were undone by an area like they chose part because who was available at the deadline, but they chose to lean into what was already a strength for the team, right?
spk_0 They loaded up on the bullpen and the offense fucking failed again. Like they got just as a reminder, they got bounced by the Dodgers last year with consecutive shutouts.
spk_0 They scored zero runs and zero runs to end that series and then scored five runs in three games in this series.
spk_0 Two for 22, Mani Machado Fernando Tati's junior two for 22.
spk_0 And that sucks that those guys didn't show up, but, but that's a huge. I mean, Jay, no, no, that's not just that sucks.
spk_0 Two for 22 from your I get it and potatoes and we can circle back on that in a second. I'm not putting that aside like it doesn't matter.
spk_0 But the rest of the offense is not good and nobody has any reasonable expectation that as a unit outside of those two star players, that it would be good. And they weren't good.
spk_0 Again, the fact that we were talking about before the series began, we were breaking down the Padres offense and you said Fernando Tati's was the only individual that you felt.
spk_0 And you were talking about the importance of like Ramon Loriano from offense.
spk_0 And it's like, well, if that's if that's the guy that we were pointing to, it's like, well, who else is going to step up in the series?
spk_0 A Rhino Herne, like you go out and make a trade like that. He was hitting for average, but there was absolutely no power there down the stretch.
spk_0 Like that was a team that I don't I think maybe on our expanded conversation or as the offseason rolls on, we can have the conversation of what do the Padres do from here?
spk_0 Because you look at last year and I vividly remember those conversations when the Padres were playing the Dodgers in the division series.
spk_0 And it was like they were playing like their asses were on fire. The Dodgers were playing flat. And it's like, wow, like this, this could be a situation where the Padres, I mean, they have beaten the Dodgers in the post season before.
spk_0 But what was that? 2022? Yeah, 2022.
spk_0 But it looked like the Padres were going to take that next step last year. They didn't they losing the division series. Now they can't get out the wildcard round.
spk_0 So it is kind of a where do they go from here? How do they improve? How do they get back?
spk_0 I think that question has been looming and we've answered it in a few different ways, but it all goes back to finding offensive pieces to be able to plug in around guys. What would you got?
spk_0 Now please go around the guys that you think that you can commit to you have a guy in place in Jackson, Merrill, who's penciled in right? We're committed there.
spk_0 As far as Fernando Tatis Jr. committed there. It's understanding that there's going to have to be some making peace with some of the other situations you have on your plate right now. Right?
spk_0 Yeah, I think I think that's I think that the way that the NL is exists and way baseball exists, they can be in the wildcard mix next season. Right? I don't think that's off the table.
spk_0 But I I have a hard time seeing how they aren't moving further away from the goal because the conversation we were having about this team at this at this general time last year was, oh my god, they what a tough beat by the Dodgers.
spk_0 Right? And we all felt after that series that if the Padres had won that that series, they could have legitimately won the World Series. Right? Like that that was that had the feel of a World Series to it.
spk_0 I don't feel that way about this current Padres team and I don't feel that that that that should be the vibe about them. Like I feel that they are further away from the goal of high level championship competition coming off of this elimination.
spk_0 Then they were a year ago and I think if you look at the decision that they have to make contractually this off season, they are more likely to be further away then after the off season than they are even right now.
spk_0 A year ago they had Joe Mosgrove this year they did not Joe will be back. That helps. I'm not telling you that JPC is is going to slide in and become this like three. No, before you, but but he can contribute.
spk_0 I've watched him take the baseball three years in a row every fucking day every five days. I've watched him take the ball. And if he doesn't have the pressure of being a one or two that's matching up with guys and we know that the rotation shakes up two weeks after the fucking you know first start of the season. I get that I get all that.
spk_0 But there's I think there's a pathway for the Padres that doesn't seem so far off where they can be competitive enough where they can be a consistent threat to the Dodgers over the next window. What I'll call the O'Connie window. But I mean they've they've got to make moves.
spk_0 I we can we can move on. I don't want to like the labor it. But they got to they're going to have to replace C. Smost likely they may have to replace Michael King. You Darvish is getting older. I to me. My guess is is that when we're having this conversation about the NL West in February or over the course of the off season that the consensus on this panel is going to be that the Padres of the fourth best team in that division and right next year and that they are nowhere near real actual competition.
spk_0 I'm curious to see what the Giants got going on. Yeah. I think the Giants are more motivated and have more well they I know they have more money to spend you would think so.
spk_0 Jackson Merrill showed up in the series. Yep Jackson Merrill showed up in the series. Well to doubt yeah. Yeah that that is to be highlighted. But I think when to J. Hayes point it is interesting to note that they've taken a step back from last year and by opening day.
spk_0 I'm not entirely sure they will be a better team on opening day than they are today. I agree with that point. However I think AJ Preller is one of the last remaining baseball executives.
spk_0 Gunslee. Yeah. Just doesn't look at you know what the machine spits out and like this is what we should do. He kind of just he might wake up one day and do some crazy shit. And then we're having a completely different conversation about the 2026 and the Padres.
spk_0 But but I feel like that is more of like a oh let's get excited about the Padres temporarily sort of situation as opposed to AJ Preller is going to fundamentally fix. Yeah no I agree with this. I agree. Yeah. Yeah I agree with that.
spk_0 Okay. We can talk about the reds and Dodgers quickly because that was again an exhibition. I don't know that there's much to say there. They have a moto and smell did what they needed to do.
spk_0 The Dodgers bullpen. I'll be honest out of all of that if what you take away. If you take anything away from that series. It's they better tighten that. The fuck up.
spk_0 They better tighten that up because the Dodgers bullpen. They only played two games voice. I don't know if you know this. They only played two games. So they didn't need them a ton.
spk_0 They didn't need them a ton. Really they only needed them for an a third inning. So the problem is they give up five earned runs in those four and a third inning seven walks seven punchouts.
spk_0 bullpen rocking a 10.3 after that wildcard. Yeah. Not ideal. But again if you get what you got from Yamamoto you get what you got from snow. You back that out or you zoom that out you get maybe a little something from Kershaw.
spk_0 Are you in the same spot offensively. Be a bit about it. No. Yeah I want to I want to.
spk_0 Yeah. Go ahead. Go ahead. No. I mean I think the bullpen I think there's something to that. I think the bullpen is probably going to be.
spk_0 They got away with it. The best the best part of the band. Yes. The best part that the Dodgers have the best thing that their open has going for them is the fact that they are as rested as you would like a group to be.
spk_0 Because you did not have to go out and perform like any of the others did you got a game off and you're you're able to sort of reset and I will say it again.
spk_0 What I saw from Rocky Sasaki. If Rocky Sasaki can become a factor and someone that we see multiple times and possibly in leverage scenarios and he takes out with him what he took out to the mountain last time.
spk_0 Hunter Maul in hour with that split that we saw. Good luck. Good luck. That is three to maybe six extremely important outs that look like they're going to be really tough.
spk_0 Really tough to get a bat on it if that looks anything like you did.
spk_0 I wanted to give a shout out to show Hey Otani. I know it's only two games but last post season his first post season. I know it started off electric. He hit the home run in his first was the first post season at bat first post season pitch study saw maybe remember.
spk_0 Yeah, his post season last year for the Dodgers world series run he hit 230 with a 767 OPS started off this post season run with two homers again. I know it's just the reds. It is what it is.
spk_0 But this is a post season. Fucking it's just the reds. They're a post season team. This is the post season. We don't we don't we're not just downplaying. No, I will do that. No, come on. What? Why? What what would you want him to do? Not hit the home.
spk_0 No, no, no, I'm not going down play. Otani's achievement. Oh, well, I was just going to say that I mean one of my takeaways was that the reds are a 500 baseball. Yeah, it's the reds. They were functionally a 500 baseball team and they look like it and they got their asses kicked by a team that was probably under achieved to win 93.
spk_0 This is what we were supposed to say when we knew that the widening of the playoff field was going to occur. This is how we're supposed to look at that. We were all over this. It's not that good. No, it's not worth it.
spk_0 But in my opinion, it's not even worth a conversation. It's a what did you expect? Yeah. Everybody every algorithm every anything would spit this out of the computer a thousand times. Yeah, moving on. I don't. I just have one. I actually have one takeaway. Okay. Just just one thing to move forward with the Dodgers.
spk_0 Moody bets. I think the fact that he for us. Yeah, four hits in the second six sixty seven in the series. So that's now basically a 900 OPS over his last 50 games.
spk_0 We're going back to the regular season. Obviously. So that to me is something to take forward. And if he's six if we're just back kind of like MVP Moody, but like last season's version of Moody, then six for nine, three doubles.
spk_0 What it is. How about the Dodger offense in in totality?
spk_0 Three seventy three is a group 12 extra bass hits five homers 18 runs in two games. Yeah. But again, what did you expect?
spk_0 Like I don't know. And they delivered. But yeah, it's a it's a J Hay's point about Moody. It probably took him all of those seven months to even make up half the weight that he lost just in March. Yeah.
spk_0 And all while I don't think people gave him enough credit for how well of a shortstop he played this fucking year. Like that was something that was all like I felt was always just going under appreciated and almost like you just expected it.
spk_0 Like well, okay. So he's a shortstop now. So what that's what they're asking him to do like platinum.
spk_0 You know, he's like a five-win player this year, yeah, that's not an easy to lead to to junior. He went from right field platinum. Glover to shortstop.
spk_0 And was one of the best short stops in baseball from a defensive perspective. And I understand it wasn't the best offensive season of his career as probably is worse.
spk_0 but to still end up with five wins above replacement
spk_0 and to now be back to being a top of the batting order
spk_0 threat from an offensive perspective,
spk_0 that's a complete game changer.
spk_0 Like if Mookie is rolling into the postseason for the Dodgers
spk_0 and he's hitting 240 with like a 7-something OPS,
spk_0 it changes the entire dynamic of the Dodgers lineup.
spk_0 Like last year it was like, you got fucking Freddie,
spk_0 whatever combination you want of Mookie, Freddie, Show Hey,
spk_0 and that, I mean, you're just rolling out three MVP's bang, bang, bang.
spk_0 But if, and I don't think that Mookie has to play like an MVP,
spk_0 he just has to play like Mookie.
spk_0 I know that that doesn't make sense, but I understand it.
spk_0 If he's just Mookie bets, then he is a guy that changes
spk_0 the entire dynamic of that lineup and it goes from a,
spk_0 oh, the Dodgers, they, they underperformed this year
spk_0 and they had to play in the wildcard round.
spk_0 Cool. Like they were there.
spk_0 Yeah. Like physically they were there.
spk_0 But like, did they have to fight for their lives?
spk_0 No. Like it was every bit of just a warm up scrimmage for them.
spk_0 Yeah. And, and, and you know,
spk_0 who else is like turned, we're not turning it on,
spk_0 but is just showing up is playoff Kike.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Little poppy.
spk_0 Playoff Kike shows up.
spk_0 Things get, things get even crazier.
spk_0 Hey Oscar, who hasn't, you know, like he didn't have the best year either,
spk_0 but, you know, he goes out and smacks a couple of homers
spk_0 with the Dodgers in this series just to stay in shape.
spk_0 Well, it's just again, the three headed, like, it's stupid.
spk_0 It's stupid.
spk_0 Freddie, Motani, Mookie, and, and you have so many other guys
spk_0 that you have to concern yourself with.
spk_0 And let's, let's not forget they're doing this without Will Smith.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0
spk_0 Freddie was kind of a non factor in the series too.
spk_0 Hmm.
spk_0 Freddie, they still kick the shit out.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Muncie, I think I've got hit.
spk_0 Yeah. Well, the Dodgers, I think, had 11 guys,
spk_0 uh, take it back.
spk_0 10 of them had hits.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Well, now the Reds have plenty of time to go home and put on their chubbies.
spk_0 Oh, right.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I did get a lot of chirps from Yankee.
spk_0 I mean, some horrible things were said, but some of the more playful ones were,
spk_0 you know, enjoy Cancun.
spk_0 That sounds awesome right now.
spk_0 Like that does not sound like an insult to me.
spk_0 Like I would love to be in Cancun right now.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 The weather's turned up.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Like enjoy Cancun.
spk_0 It's like, you know what?
spk_0 I think I will.
spk_0 Good idea.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I think I might hit up Cancun.
spk_0 Resort Rex.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Uh, but shout out to chubbies, man, because the leaves are turning.

spk_0 Actually, you know what, that's not true at the MLB combined two years ago when they made me wear shorts, got a lot of compliments.
spk_0 And on what on my legs.
spk_0 I did.
spk_0 I did.
spk_0 I swear to God.
spk_0 Who are you lying to right now?
spk_0 No, I swear to God.
spk_0 I'll go back and I'll find it.
spk_0 What do they say?

spk_0 You're like, you're like, I've never, I've never gotten compliments while wearing shorts.
spk_0 Actually, that's not true.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 There was that one time where they were like, damn, nice legs.
spk_0 Nice legs.
spk_0 I will always remember that.
spk_0 I remember like it was yesterday.
spk_0 Yep.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 It meant a lot.
spk_0 It meant a lot in the moment.
spk_0 It's only with the court more memory.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I do remember that.
spk_0 That happened quite a bit.
spk_0 I'll have to go pull those up.
spk_0 It's been a while.
spk_0 I don't know if there's still out there with the, you know, Elon.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Elon took those down.
spk_0 He might have.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 That was charged content.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 So I think we feel like, I mean, for the most part, all the right teams have moved on.
spk_0 Is that fair to say?
spk_0 No.
spk_0 No.
spk_0 You don't think that way?
spk_0 No.
spk_0 I guess we got one series left, right?
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Well, before we move on to that, I do want to say, I feel like, I feel like this is the
spk_0 first time in a long time that in the national league or any league, rather, the two division
spk_0 series matchups would make awesome LCS matchups.
spk_0
spk_0 Like, you're getting Cubs brewers, which would make an awesome seven game series and you're
spk_0 getting Philly's Dodgers, which would make an awesome seven game series.
spk_0 Yep.
spk_0 I'm very excited for the national league side of the division series bracket.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Philly's Dodgers is, I am stoked that, that honestly, that is probably my, yeah, that's
spk_0 probably my favorite series, my series to watch.
spk_0 Well, I think when you go back to the post season last year and you had Dave Roberts say
spk_0 that was the world series was the division series against San Diego.
spk_0 I mean, if you took this combination and you went Dodgers Cubs Philly's brewer, like,
spk_0 it doesn't hit the same.
spk_0 Like, these matchups in particular, it's not just the teams, it's the matchups.
spk_0 Uh, you're looking at potentially two kind of like world series type series.
spk_0 Like, I'm very excited for both of those.
spk_0 Um, yeah, action starts on Saturday and for anyone that's asking, we will be doing remote
spk_0 streams.
spk_0 So kind of like just the nuts.
spk_0 Um, yeah, we'll be doing kind of like adjust the nuts.
spk_0 I doubt Steve and Tyler will want in, but I bet you coley will want some action on, uh,
spk_0 the post season streams.
spk_0 So are you ready to, uh, to rock some jovies Dallas?
spk_0 Oh, I, yeah, I got a full, full taste of jovies.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah, I'm ready.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Uh, okay.
spk_0 So we can, I guess that's it, right?
spk_0 That's it.
spk_0 All right.
spk_0 Yeah, that's it.
spk_0 Oh, hold on.
spk_0 We got one more series.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Just wanted to get to one more if we could just one.
spk_0 But it does look like the Yankees are going to be moving on late.
spk_0 It's a, it's a, no, I know.
spk_0 And I do need to get going.
spk_0 But I feel like we should have long drives actually a school night.
spk_0 I don't know what an inside voice means.
spk_0 So yeah, the girls probably trying to sleep just a quick recap.
spk_0 Would you want to touch on real quick, Jay?
spk_0 Where'd you want to start with that?
spk_0 Probably just wrap it.
spk_0 It's really going to start.
spk_0 Slitter was a great start.
spk_0 We'll get to that though.
spk_0 That was the final game.
spk_0 You can just wrap it.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I mean, I, I, that's where my interest lies, though.
spk_0 Last game.
spk_0 Slitter.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I mean, that was, that was one of the great performances that we have ever seen.
spk_0 You know, I mean, ever seen in the postseason.
spk_0 It's certainly one of the great performances that we've ever seen.
spk_0 When you add like his lack of experience, his age, his rookie status, all of that sort
spk_0 of stuff, it's one of the greatest postseason starts statistically in Yankees franchise history.
spk_0 I know that sounds outlandish.
spk_0 But it is, you know, by, I'll do nugs later.
spk_0 But by game score, it's the fourth best start by Yankees pitcher since 1960 behind two
spk_0 in the postseason behind two by Roger Clemens and one by Whitey Ford.
spk_0 It was, and visually, like I looked it up, I'm sure you did two on some level.
spk_0 But the number of swing and misses that he got on the poor seemer and sinker combined
spk_0 were the most by any pitcher, his age or younger since Hunter Green last season.
spk_0 So, 20.
spk_0 It was pretty awesome.
spk_0 You know, not awesome in the sense that like it was what I was rooting for because of course
spk_0 it was not.
spk_0 And everybody in the room was rooting for the opposite outcome.
spk_0 But just in terms of visual, you know, dominance and it never really felt like the Red Sox
spk_0 got much going or had much of a chance against what he was doing tonight.
spk_0 It was 16 swing and misses between the four seemer and the two seemer.
spk_0 18 total swing and misses between the four seem two seem and the cutter.
spk_0 22 for 29 first pitch strikes.
spk_0 He threw 50 fastballs, 54 seemers, 35 for strikes.
spk_0 He threw 25 two seemers, 22 of them for strikes.
spk_0 He threw 11 curveballs, seven of those for strikes.
spk_0 And just over half of the cutters he threw were for strikes.
spk_0 21 total, 11 for strikes.
spk_0 He was absolutely dominant.
spk_0 The only pitch he didn't have a punch out on was the curve ball.
spk_0 11 punchouts between the four seem and the two seem one on the cutter.
spk_0 And a lot of the questions which I appreciate from the chat tonight.
spk_0 And all series have been about some of the guys that we've had on slab lab.
spk_0 What separates them you go back and you watch those each and every one of those guys also talks
spk_0 about trying to expand the variance on their fastballs.
spk_0 They start with multiple fastballs.
spk_0 They all talk about having command of multiple fastballs and what that does.
spk_0 And you just watched a rookie for the Yankees go out and deliver one of the best performances
spk_0 in postseason history that the franchise or the fucking game has ever seen.
spk_0 A lot of the heavy lifting done on three different fastballs.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 And you know, I'm not trying to make this painful for Jared or where or Jeremy or Jake listening.
spk_0 But and obviously this intersection, if you want the red socks kind of post mortem.
spk_0 But for the Yankees like this does change how I feel about their future.
spk_0 Yeah, future.
spk_0 Yes, but like world I'm thinking more world series equity right now.
spk_0 Like because if they have a front three that's max freed Rodan and Schlippler.
spk_0 And and he's obviously we're probably not going to see a start like this.
spk_0 But this is even in the realm of possibility.
spk_0 That does make me feel different.
spk_0 It doesn't mean I'm changing them to the favor to win the world series.
spk_0 That was a difference making development last night.
spk_0 And I'm sure there are Yankee fans who are listening.
spk_0 Power went out.
spk_0 We'll say.
spk_0 That's not the power.
spk_0 That's just the lights kind of how they went out a while ago on the socks.
spk_0 Yep.
spk_0 So um,
spk_0 wait, little revival.
spk_0 Oh, that's good.
spk_0 Little revival.
spk_0 J. Hey, 20 and a third innings from the Tigers starting staff.
spk_0 Wait, what are we doing Tiger stuff now?
spk_0 Or Yankee, sorry.
spk_0 Sorry.
spk_0
spk_0 Or because I look down.
spk_0 I saw it.
spk_0 I just see.
spk_0 And the lighting.
spk_0 The lighting has changed you on me.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 That's a 1.33 ERA 13 hits 24 punchouts for the Yankees starting staff.
spk_0 Just six walks allowed.
spk_0 They're bullpen.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Six and two thirds three year runs.
spk_0 But I, I believe exactly what you believe.
spk_0 That's why I said what I said about the starting matchup today between Connolly early.
spk_0 And Mr. Slittle was this is where young legends are born.
spk_0 This is where you can start to you start to put your name on that national radar early on.
spk_0 Like who is this dude about?
spk_0 What is this dude about?
spk_0 Like a thing about like Waka early on in the postseason when he first showed up, right?
spk_0 Yep.
spk_0 And you're like, oh, my goodness.
spk_0 Okay.
spk_0 This is going to be a problem.
spk_0 Right.
spk_0 And I know time has passed and velocity standards are different.
spk_0 But Waka wasn't throwing a fucking 100 miles an hour.
spk_0 No, no, no, no.
spk_0 This is very like, and it's a hundred.
spk_0 Like put it like this over his last pitches, like pitches 106 through 120,
spk_0 98 miles an hour.
spk_0 That's just two clicks down from the 100.
spk_0 He was sustaining for virtually the entire game.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I mean, it honestly felt like if it wouldn't have been like a bad PR move to send him out
spk_0 for the ninth inning that there was nothing about his performance.
spk_0 That was telling you it's time.
spk_0 You know, visually to me watching the game that said it was time to go or the data that you're
spk_0 sharing.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 It was it was.
spk_0 You see this quote from Schlytler.
spk_0 No.
spk_0 Cam Schlytler said beating the Red Sox was quote personal from for me after some hometown
spk_0 chirping.
spk_0 I'm not going to get into it, but there's a line.
spk_0 And I think they crossed it a little bit.
spk_0 I'm a competitor and I'm going to go out there and make sure I shut them down.
spk_0 You know Boston fans.
spk_0 That's just how it is.
spk_0 We're aggressive back home.
spk_0 And we're going to try to get under people's skin.
spk_0 They picked the wrong guy to do it to and the wrong team to do it to.
spk_0 It's he.
spk_0 Oh my.
spk_0 It sounds like.
spk_0 Oh my.
spk_0 I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it does seem like he may have used your tweets
spk_0 in the Red Sox season.
spk_0 How do you how do you I mean, let's just go hypothetical here.
spk_0 Let's say that that was bulletin board material.
spk_0 Got a band.
spk_0 Let's just say it was bulletin board material.
spk_0 It sounds like it's very hot.
spk_0 Personally responsible for the end of the Red Sox season.
spk_0 No, it started with the lights prematurely.
spk_0 No, the premature.
spk_0 Yeah, the pre the premature illumination from you.
spk_0 Yeah, led to zero offense and it very well could be dragging camp slitlers
spk_0 families fan hood through the mud.
spk_0 I said it as a general statement that led to this as well.
spk_0 hometown chirping hometown chirping.
spk_0 You know how we are from Boston a little loud, a little ignorant.
spk_0 And what was the rest of it?
spk_0 What did say?
spk_0 He said, I'm not going to get into it, but there's a line and I think they
spk_0 crossed it a little bit.
spk_0 I'm a competitor and I'm going to go out there and make sure I shut them down.
spk_0 You know, Boston fans, that's just how it is.
spk_0 We're aggressive back home and we're going to try to get under people's skin.
spk_0 They just picked the wrong guy to do it to and the wrong team to do it to.
spk_0 I'm not them bitches in quote.
spk_0 So like when you can't say Boston fans, though,
spk_0 and say we because he said he converted.
spk_0 We said we back home.
spk_0 Yeah, like, like, you know, because he is from we's from here.
spk_0 He's from Walpole.
spk_0 It's like, yeah, five hours away.
spk_0 I've heard some crazy stuff.
spk_0 Basically, Rhode Island going on at Walpole.
spk_0 Yeah, there's a present there.
spk_0 Well, Kim, Kim Schlittler just.
spk_0 Schlitt all over the socks, man.
spk_0 It's if we were to drive to Walpole right now, it would take 48 minutes
spk_0 and it's one o'clock in the morning.
spk_0 So it's about an hour away.
spk_0 It's an hour away.
spk_0 Well, he has put Walpole on the map.
spk_0 No, the jail did.
spk_0 When you say Walpole, people like, oh, the prison,
spk_0 like that's what it's known for.
spk_0 Are they talking about the mental prison that
spk_0 Kim Schlittler has put you guys in?
spk_0 Is that what they're talking about?
spk_0 I gave him his props.
spk_0 But oh, he took your props, wiped his ass with them,
spk_0 and then directly, directly returned fire and shoved
spk_0 many, many baseballs up your ass.
spk_0 He did.
spk_0 He did.
spk_0 But you know what?
spk_0 What?
spk_0 Shout out to Kim Schlittler.
spk_0 Oh, yeah.
spk_0 I always have a love for my fans.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 I just ran one though, right?
spk_0 That's just around one.
spk_0 I mean, but I mean, how do you feel about the words?
spk_0 Because in my mind, like when I read those words,
spk_0 like you picked the wrong guy to do it to.
spk_0 He's got a great and the wrong team to do it to.
spk_0 I think he's got a mask on his head.
spk_0 I think Boone just called you out in this audio.
spk_0 I think he said.
spk_0 That's from here on out.
spk_0 And Jared Carabus.
spk_0 Fuck him.
spk_0 He would though.
spk_0 But I was for Buster just said, Jared, Aaron, what do you think about
spk_0 Jared Carabus?
spk_0 That's what you just asked him.
spk_0 He's just saying.
spk_0 Aaron was like, good guy.
spk_0 Good dude.
spk_0 He's had a lot of win opportunities.
spk_0 It's by time to actually do something in the postseason.
spk_0 He's had the parade.
spk_0 Now it's time to get mine.
spk_0 That's what he said.
spk_0 I think that is what he said.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 AJ, he's got a lot of fun.
spk_0 Did you guys, did you guys blame?
spk_0 Did you guys put all of the blame on Roman Anthony on the section 10 podcast?
spk_0 No, no, no, no, no, just a small amount of the blame on room.
spk_0 We're blaming a guy for getting hurt.
spk_0 I think that what a serious aspirations were gone once that happened.
spk_0 But I mean, you're not blaming him for it.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 They could have absolutely won this series without without Roman.
spk_0 But but you said to yourself, nowhere near equipped to go anymore than three.
spk_0 Like three game series, probably the extent of what you're keeping.
spk_0 Yeah, the thing that I've learned the most about social media in my career is that
spk_0 it's the tweets that you think are absolute throwaway tweets that are the ones that go
spk_0 nuclear viral and upset the internet.
spk_0 Like the, uh, what was the Pirates tweet that pissed off everyone this year that I literally
spk_0 were talking about, talking about bonuses Pirates No N De Bosses.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 That one, like it set the fucking city of Pittsburgh on fire.
spk_0 And I was like, I gave that maybe three seconds of thought tweeted and
spk_0 never thought about it again.
spk_0 Like this, this was kind of just like the red socks lost.
spk_0 And I was like, I got a tweet about something after the game.
spk_0 And I saw that clip and I was just like,
spk_0 have a take here.
spk_0 What's the take?
spk_0 Oh, uh, no family that's no, no, uh, 50 plus year old people that have lived in
spk_0 Boston their whole lives and love the socks are like, go Yankees.
spk_0 Like it's just, that's not a thing.
spk_0 You know what's still possible?
spk_0 Yeah, what that tweet initiates the
spk_0 greatest stretch of post using piss, pitching and baseball history.
spk_0 Because right now we only have one started.
spk_0 Well, he ain't done.
spk_0 So I think,
spk_0 why the foundation again, you go back to it and it's like,
spk_0 he only follows 76 people.
spk_0 So I'm assuming he did see the tweet.
spk_0 I tweeted it last night.
spk_0 But there's no question that that, that,
spk_0 that quote is referencing at least in part your tweet.
spk_0 I guess.
spk_0 I mean, it follows you now.
spk_0 No, no, no, no, he didn't follow me tonight.
spk_0 Like I just, yeah, yeah, yeah, he did.
spk_0 So there you go.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 But you can go back, you could actually, you'd be able to go back and look at the followers
spk_0 and see when he followed you.
spk_0 It's got through mine.
spk_0 There's no fucking way.
spk_0 Like I, yeah, it's, it was definitely not tonight.
spk_0 Yeah, you can just search it through verified.
spk_0 Is he verified?
spk_0 I would assume.
spk_0 I don't think so.
spk_0 You got to pay for it.
spk_0 He's not.
spk_0 Yeah, there's no way he's.
spk_0 Follow me tonight and there's no way I'd be able to find that out.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Well, either way,
spk_0 tough way to end it for the Red Sucks,
spk_0 but you have next year to look forward to
spk_0 just like some of these other teams do.
spk_0 But we really look forward, really look forward to the division.
spk_0 Sure.
spk_0 Yeah, I'm looking forward to breaking down that series.
spk_0 I'm looking forward to watching them.
spk_0 I'm looking forward to calling them with you guys.
spk_0 I think the whole, the, the streams and person are great,
spk_0 but I think being able to just like hop in the closet,
spk_0 everyone's remote, everyone's comfy in their own setting
spk_0 and we're all just watching the same game together.
spk_0 It'll be a different vibe obviously because there's no one
spk_0 on our panel that has a team left in the dance anymore.
spk_0 No, no, no.
spk_0 So we can kind of just sit back, relax,
spk_0 and enjoy some really good postseason baseball.
spk_0 I'm looking forward to it.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah.
spk_0 Yeah, I guess so.
spk_0 Unless you have any other
spk_0 chirps that you want to get at me while it's still raw.
spk_0 Cause tomorrow I'm going to wake up and I'm,
spk_0 I'm going to be ready to move on to 2027 or whatever the fuck is next year.
spk_0 Oh, I just want to shout out, uh, shout out me
spk_0 for being, for being the bigger man here.
spk_0 I know Jared lost the Jersey bet and has not put himself in a position to pay up
spk_0 all the Jersey bet.
spk_0 That's fine.
spk_0 He wants to be a slow pay.
spk_0 We're not going to judge him.
spk_0 I don't want you guys to hold that against him.
spk_0 Final thoughts.
spk_0 Jay, hey, got his Jersey.
spk_0 Jared got his Jersey.
spk_0 So credit to me for being, I don't want to call me the bigger man.
spk_0 I'll call me the best man.
spk_0 Final thoughts.
spk_0 Dallas.
spk_0 Someone's got to set the tone.
spk_0 Final thoughts.
spk_0 And you're well paid up on his Jersey bet from last year.
spk_0 At the conclusion of last season, I want a Jersey bet.
spk_0 Took that one home.
spk_0 He finally paid up, brought me my don troll.
spk_0 Willis Jersey tonight.
spk_0 He tweeted me said, I have to sign that.
spk_0 Can't wait for him to sign it.
spk_0 Dallas beat me in a Jersey bet in mid September.
spk_0 It had no confidence.
spk_0 After speaking to Don Trell that Dallas was going to come correct with my Jersey
spk_0 for this trip.
spk_0 So I will immediately be paying up my Jersey bet.
spk_0 But I did have to hold that ransom until he paid up.
spk_0 Because again, it had been over 365 days since I won that bet.
spk_0 Yeah, there should almost be like interest.
spk_0 Details.
spk_0 Yeah, Jersey interest.
spk_0 Jersey juice.
spk_0 Yeah, I think it should be like a Jersey in a half.
spk_0 You want to box a ball?
spk_0 It's going to be box of balls too.
spk_0 Yeah, that'd be great.
spk_0 That'd be great.
spk_0 Okay, we'll, I don't know when we'll be back to break down the division series.
spk_0 Probably.
spk_0 It's going to have to be soon.
spk_0 Saturday morning.
spk_0 Saturday morning maybe.
spk_0 Well, Saturday starts the division series.
spk_0 Right?
spk_0 So what time would you want to be?
spk_0 I believe the first game is at two o'clock.
spk_0 We should probably think about putting something out tomorrow.
spk_0 Yeah, yeah.
spk_0 Well, what time do you get in?
spk_0 I land it like 10, 30, 11, something like that.
spk_0 All right, we'll figure it out.
spk_0 We'll, we'll try and put something together for Fridays
spk_0 that everyone has some division series breakdowns.
spk_0 Yeah, yeah, we need breakdowns predictions.
spk_0 Yeah, all that, all that jazz.
spk_0 All right, thank you guys for watching
spk_0 and listening.
spk_0 We'll see you on the next podcast
spk_0 of Preview the Division series
spk_0 and then live streaming all the games
spk_0 for the rest of the post season.
spk_0 Fuck.
spk_0 Preview.
