I think those are played that was kind of the turning point for us to make the last great

You know, with just stand on side and make sure that you come off a great crowd level.

And play with good hands and then get extension and not give up ground.

You know, both teams are trying to win at the line of scrimmage, but here you have an

opportunity no matter what transpired during the course of the game, but at this most critical

point to win this down at all, at all, at all costs.

I think, you know, these guys really pulled it out of themselves and did what was necessary.

It takes a lot of grit.

It takes determination and just, you know, just wanting to win at all costs in the most

critical time.

Be well, how much of that is coaching?

How much does Robert Salah play a role in that sort of intensity, concentration, effort

to the final whistle?

And you know, all of it, you know, a big part of it is coaching.

You know, we can, as coaches, you can coach to your blue in the face, but it's up to the

players to take ownership of the information that they're getting and go utilize it and

make, make it their own take ownership of it.

So coaching does play a factor in there in terms of just mentality, taking on them

and mentality of your head coach, mentality of your office and the defensive coordinator,

special teams coordinator.

Coaching does matter.

And when you have a guy that's really emphasizing the most critical things, the little details

of your work, you know, that's important.

The more you can put it out in front of it, emphasize the things that are critically

important.

Most times that's going to get that information to take ownership of it and at the most

important times, it's going to come into play.

Yeah, we know how much more difficult his job gets when you don't have somebody like

Nick Bosa out there.

So be why we have to talk to you about the loss of Nick Bosa.

And how do the 49ers try to figure out a way to maybe make up for the lack of Nick Bosa,

which I know is hard to replace, but does it come down to the players on the field?

Well, it's tough to replace a guy like Nick.

He's a very talented individual.

And you know, it's just by committee.

You know, I think you're the strength of the pack is what's going to be necessary moving

Every guy's needed, you know, whether you're a second third or, you know, they bring

you in and you're signed late in the season and a trade, whatever.

Every guy's important and it's just going to have to be done by committee.

You know, when you get your turn, just make sure that you take every advantage of your

You know, he on the offensive side, he got Trent Williams and Christian McCaffrey.

So what point do you say, man, this season is we're playing for enough that we got to go get a guy to help out our D line?

Yeah, John is done a really good job over time, just at the most, you know, the points doing the season when you have an opportunity to bring a guy on doing a season through trade or, you know,

got us sitting on the street and means time to get in the shape and getting in plan shape.

He's brought those guys on.

If we guys out there and that that could help this team win, you know, I think John's going to do the right thing and bringing the right guy to help the team win.

We saw John bringing Bryce Huff this off season from the Philadelphia Eagles and he's made a huge impact so far, but I wanted to ask you about his get off rate and how fast he explodes off that line of scrimmage.

I believe it's the second fastest get off rate only behind Max Kraus being the entire NFL.

Now, be why when you're lining up in the trenches, are you simply just looking at the ball? Are you listening to cadence? Are you looking for a tip from the offensive lineman? Maybe a tell? What was your strategy there?

Well, it's definitely not the quarterback, you're not listening to voice. So you may look at the quarterback shields.

When the quarterback, you're not going to take the ball. Sometimes he may hit shut the heels. He had an offense alumnus. Sometimes you get a key. You know, he may move his foot or something before the snap.

Or you may be a sinner that gives up little details right before he snaps the ball. And then obviously you look at ball movement. So there's some little things that are some predictors and you got to do your homework and just sound of picking up some things that's going to give you an advantage on the course of the game or and during the season.

You know, somebody has a tell and whatever can help and whatever's to your advantage. You know, you got to take that information and use it to the best of your advantage.

I love being around him. I love watching him play. I love how he rallies that group of guys together on defense and.

And man, he is he is fighting, scratching and quondering make every play possible and not giving up an inch.

And you know, it's really not how you start is how you finish. As you can see, this is a really tough.

I call it football kind of landscape just in terms of, you know, the trades or the transport portal NIL and guys that are being acquired. And there's a lot of fairly across the board. So at any given season, you know, teams can, can change, you know, from one year to the next and, you know, makes it very competitive. So we just have to finish strong.

Do you think I was talking to some fellow college football fans over the weekend. Do we think that the NIL, I know it's crazy. The transfer portal is created in some ways. It's a real negative. But in some ways, has it leveled the playing field a little bit like Alabama and Ohio. So she's stacked five stars three, four deep. And now those guys are going elsewhere and getting paid.

I think so when you look at, you know, the teams, you know, like the SEC teams, SEC teams that have been dominating college football for a while, you know, they're not so, you know, they're not as expected. They used to be so guys are, you know, look at opportunities.

There's a lot of opportunities other way, other places, you know, before you had to wait your turn. If you're a number two as a five star and get another guy in front of you who's just balling out and.

And now the days of just waiting your turn or no more, you know, gather jumping up the opportunity to play at different places right now opens it up a little bit too, man. So we should.

Absolutely makes it very competitive. Yeah, yeah, it's good. It's good. It's good. Finally just one plug for my Bruins. You know, B.Y. My my UCLA football team has been struggling.
